Overall, Dragon Quest Treasures is a charming spin-off to the mainline series that satisfies the DQ itch but does leave me wanting more as the grand scope of the campaign isn’t quite there for me. That might be the point, a smaller, more intimate story, but it’s not my cup of tea. Hopefully, Monsters later this year is good, but I yearn for Dragon Quest XII but given the complete radio silence on that since 2017 I don’t expect much soon.

Seeing Lora’s descent into despair and desperation was an interesting story choice since we aren’t playing the usual heroine. Her character has minor changes based on your dialog choices and the ending will change as well so replayability is relatively high for those interested in seeing the other paths play out. I got the winter ending and felt like that was a wonderful way to wrap up such a dreadful story. I clocked in around an hour and a half for my initial playthrough so it shouldn’t take long to see the credits roll for your first playthrough. A.I.L.A has a great story that becomes more interesting the more you continue, and it has a really great idea and demonstrates it very well. The gameplay is good but has much more potential due to the game’s settings and different timelines. Visuals are good, but I expected more from a UE5 game, especially regarding how the enemies look. The sound design is amazing, always making you feel watched, which makes the game a lot scarier.

Pyramid Platformer - The Gem Heist is an old-school experience with a colourful setting. I loved the familiar gameplay but disliked the minor controller issues. Though this was frustrating, it was fun and I liked the level design and the drip-fed mechanics.

Keplerth is an overall enjoyable survival crafting game. The gameplay mechanics are incredibly fun, albeit rather simple and repetitive. The RPG systems are surprisingly complex, but feel as though they are still waiting to be developed into something more substantial. While the art style is a clear rip off of RimWorld, it has been executed well to suit the game’s needs. As of this review, Keplerth is being sold for a little under £12. At this price, I’d recommend that you give it a shot if you are a fan of games like Terraria or Don’t Starve.

I try not to judge a book by its cover, but Maggie the Magnet sounded and looked awful at first glance. Yet, I’m glad I gave it a chance, as every element surprised me. I adored its challenging ways, its tough but fair learning curve, and its bizarre aesthetics. Accordingly, it is one of those hidden gems that’ll be ignored by many gamers, and this is a tragedy.

Re.Surs is an old-school side-scrolling shooter. Moreover, it uses a linear approach and has a deep and lore-rich story. However, it doesn't break the mould and this may disappoint.

Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand is a commendable action RPG that showcases a marked improvement over its initial release. While its combat system and customization options stand out as highlights, the game is somewhat let down by its repetitive encounters and underwhelming narrative. Nevertheless, it offers a solid mix of action and exploration, making it a worthwhile pick for fans of the genre. For newcomers or those who missed the original, this enhanced version is an excellent entry point. While it may not redefine the action RPG genre, it delivers a well-rounded and enjoyable experience, particularly for players seeking fast-paced combat and a customizable playstyle.

QUADROIDS is a tough adventure title. This brutal endeavour will twist your mind as the fixed-screen perspective shifts and turns on every stage. Consequently, this isn't a game for the faint of heart.

Even as a newcomer to the series, I think SNK VS. CAPCOM: CARD FIGHTERS’ CLASH is a pretty solid game. Other than a few annoyances here and there, I can say I enjoyed this classic title. If you’re an SNK or Capcom fan, or a card trading game fanatic, I’d say this retro goodie is worth adding to your collection.

Gravitar: Recharged is a fantastic modern take on an arcade classic. With an excellent challenge mode and cooperative action, this will keep you playing. Furthermore, the arcade mode is endless, tough, and enjoyable.

All in all, it feels difficult to recommend Remnant: From the Ashes as a Nintendo Switch title. If you like soulslikes, guns, trees, and grey things: maybe play this on any other console. Chances are, it’s a pretty good game there. But here, it’s not a great experience.
