Please look forward an even further enhanced Neptunia game with the addition of the new "management" system.

Your main objective in Neptunia GameMaker R:Evolution is to manage a game company, and gradually expand with the goal of becoming a large enterprise. Keep your eyes peeled for a Neptunia game evolved in every aspect, from the newly added "management parts," to an expanded and deeper four-character party battle system, "dungeon exploration" that allows for high-speed movement by motorcycle, and the "Heartful Photo Mode" that allows you to capture manga-like expressions.

Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution is an admirable effort to find a way of introducing more characters and an all-new plot-line, while also in some ways going back to the fundamentals in terms of storytelling and structure. I do wish the Idea Factory people would give up on this action combat system when the turn-based approach was less obviously affected by the budget, but the usual gorgeous fanservice art and antics of the characters kept me smiling throughout.

It has its issues and doesn’t bring a lot of new things to the table, but it’s a fun, familiar stepping stone to the next Neptunia game, and that's all fans really want.

Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution is a lovely game with a fun-filled story. It may have many recycled elements and stages from the previous game but more often than not, it's still a treat to play.

Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution is a mixed bag. If you want a charming story with plenty of nerdy goofs about consoles from the 90s, you’ll find something to enjoy here. If you want interesting and in-depth mechanics, then you’d be better off looking elsewhere. One for the established fanbase that’s unlikely to win over many newcomers.

Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution is a disappointing spin-off and I cannot recommend it to even to die hard fans of the series. The gameplay simply isn't polished and, thus, makes it hard for players to have a good time with the title.

A reoccurring goal in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series is saving gaming from imminent disaster. But ironically, Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution demonstrates some of the real-life ailments of the industry, with a lazy spin off built around salvaged concepts and sloppy combat. Undoubtedly, Nep Nep and the rest of the Guardian Goddesses deserve far better.

Neptunia Game Maker (R)evolution is another stinker in a long line of disappointing Neptunia series entries. I love these characters and their world, but this is a flat action-RPG with a barebones management game bolted onto it that do not do them right by any means.
