Jul 30, 2025As long as you know how to spell, you can play Birdigo – but if you want to really be challenged in your vocabulary (and in your ability to maximize the power of your deck, à la StS or Balatro), you need to dig deep into your brain and plan things out. Birdigo definitely isn’t going to be for everyone, but it’s unquestionably made for someone like me.

Jul 21, 2025Birdigo captures that feeling we all felt when we played Balatro for the first time, but gives it a Wordle/Scrabble-esque remix with a narrative about migrating birds. On paper, it probably shouldn't work but John August and Corey Martin have created a game that is quite frankly unputdownable. A glorious puzzler with roguelike mechanics, Birdigo's talons will hook you in and not let go.

Sep 30, 2025If you don’t like word games, then you should stay away from Birdigo. If you do, though, Birdigo adds some unique twists to the standard scramble gameplay formula that you’ll probably find both novel and challenging. You’ll also appreciate the game’s visual style and animations, which give the game a lot of charm and will bring a smile to the faces of bird lovers. Spread your wings and give the game a go!

While random tile draws and unbalanced perks can ruffle feathers, its charming visuals and chirpy companions help to keep frustration levels from flying sky high.

Jul 30, 2025Birdigo has the right foundations in place and there is a a great hook to it, but it needs a couple of improvements to make people stick around. Progression is far too slow and being stuck on one migration run for hours is demotivating. Having more feathers and songs may help to realise the charming potential of this game.

Aug 29, 2025Birdigo no doubt succeeded in being an enjoyable and addictive experience, on top of that it had some unique power-ups and it was a very calm and peaceful game. However, its difficulty and luck dependent system ruined the gameplay massively. It's no doubt one of the best word games I've ever played but at the same time the hardest and most annoying one too.
