    Playing Destroy All Humans! is like watching an old alien movie in a summer drive-in. The movie may not be a masterpiece, but atmosphere and context play a fundamental role in enjoying the experience. So the not particularly clever mission design and the not-so-inspired mechanics feel a little less annoying when you are playing a game that makes you laugh, does not take itself seriously and does not require a month of vacation to be finished.

    Besides being a fun game, After Us also offers a very interesting setting. Some technical problems in controlling Gaia do not negatively affect the experience, making it a recommended game for those who love to visit complex worlds platform after platform.

    A narrative adventure that plunges you into the heart of a desperate world, teetering on the brink of collapse. It is up to you to decide its fate through actions and decisions that will shape not only your own future but also that of the players who follow in your footsteps. Once again, DigixArt proves itself remarkably adept at storytelling and at placing the player at the center of an extremely intriguing gameplay concept—one that, unfortunately, lacks the necessary depth to become a new benchmark for the genre. A few technical hiccups and a somewhat underwhelming aesthetic presentation prevent it from ascending to the Valhalla of video games; nevertheless, *Tides of Tomorrow* remains an experience capable of staying with you long after you have uncovered all its possible endings.

    Through the Darkest of Times is a game worth trying if you are willing to forgive a slow paced and repetitive gameplay, in exchange for an exciting and very detailed history lesson. Those who prefer to get rid of the Nazis with a BFG 9000 should definitively look for something else.

    Even with its (few) flaws, The Sinking City manages to shine right where other games of the same genre have failed to impress. It doesn’t abuse jumpscare and useless boss fights, but instead Frogwares focused on a well thought out and engaging investigative system and on pleasant action parts, which naturally lead the player to discover the monstrosities of the abyss and to bitterly repent of their own curiosity.

    Little Nightmare 3 is a commissioned work and could have been decidedly less inspired. The co-op mechanics work, even in single-player thanks to the companion AI, but they somehow make the scenarios easier to read and decipher. The saga's strong point, however, remains its atmosphere, and here Supermassive has hit the mark by creating a horror anthology in which Low and Alone move under the guidance of solid virtual direction. Perhaps the formula itself has reached its limit in terms of mechanics, but in terms of inspiration, Little Nightmares 3 always manages to convey something to the player.

    Hello Games created something truly new and unique: No Man's Sky manages to be the best videogaming experience in the recent years, and at the same time a huge disappointment for what it could have been. The first hours are simply amazing, and will probably be stuck in your memory for the rest of your life. After that, the supposedly thriving and procedural universe transforms into a cold and soulless repetition of landscapes and concepts. The videogames universe still has a lot to say, and probably this is the misstep we needed to understand that.

    Beat Cop is an intriguing and entertaining re-imagining of the police TV shows of the ’80s, with a clever design, some action and lot of choices for the player. There are always too many things to do, and too little time to do them, and as any real cop knows, boredom is part of the process.

    Fearful Symmetry & The Cursed Prince is a very good puzzle game, thanks to the original gameplay dynamics and an excellent level design that takes advantage of their possibilities. We'd have loved some more puzzles that could have highlighted the different characters, but in this case the prize is definitely right, for a well-done brain teaser (9.99$ for both PC and Xbox versions).

    Masters of Anima allows us to control an army of minions to save our princess (and the rest of the world). The most difficult thing about the game is mastering the control system, and there's a notable - and irritating - separation between exploration and fights; nonetheless, the game is a solid and fun experience.

    Chronos: Before the Ashes arrives too late to the party. Years ago, the main character’s aging mechanic would have been enough to grant it attention and praise. Today, it’s barely a spark of light in a technically dated game. The fact that the controls aren’t terribly responsive and the narrative is a bit confused don’t help either. Souls-addicted players might find its ten hours of length an enjoyable diversion, but that’s about it.

    Blades of Fire is a bit of a wasted opportunity in the management of the game resources and in the way it alternates excellent ideas, such as the entire management of the forge and its combat system, which are accompanied by equally less successful things, the management of exploration, the confused and fast narration and anonymous characters. The possibility and freedom of fun is not denied, but often, when you enter into full synergy with the entire grammar of the game, something arrives promptly that clashes with everything else, something put there without context, some poorly considered choice, all in a world that is excellently realized, but generally dull.

    Detective Pikachu is a simple yet charming adventure, with a great roster of cast members and an adorable couple as the main characters. A must buy if you have kids who love Pokémon; on the contrary, if you consider yourself a true adventurer, remember that this one's a pretty easy game.

    With no major changes in the game modes, NHL 24 shows some interesting signs of life thanks to some new gameplay features. With convincing graphics and sounds, which manages to immerse the player in the atmosphere of an ice rink, the matches are quite enjoyable, with a good rhythm and a truly well-thought-out renewed control system. There are still some issues, but those who live on bread and hockey will find a way to have fun.

    Despite its ups & downs, it’s hard not to love Miitopia and its quirkiness. Even the most generic and basic RPG story suddenly becomes a compelling tale if you use friends-shaped Miis as characters and Miitopia adds to this formula a large amount of humor and weirdness that fills the void when the rhythm slows down. If I had a child, this would be the first RPG I’d play with him (or her).

    Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl tries to be a challenger for Super Smash Bros. and aims for the weak spot of his opponent, showing off a stable and solid netcode. A good multiplayer and tight controls, though, are not enough to reach the stars. The roster is good and varied, but a little scarce right now (maybe DLCs will fill the gap) and characters lack characterization (no pun intended): a pity, because Nickelodeon’s original voices and music would have added a lot of value to the game.

    Finally an open world in which moving from one part of the map to another is not a problem. It is certainly one of the strengths of Atlas Fallen, together with the numerous builds that we can continuously experiment by playing with the enhancements of the glove, and the combat system against the huge monsters that we encounter, unfortunately not as frequently as I would have hoped. The gameplay does not add anything new to the RPG genre, but action and variety of settings, combined with a good speed in progression, make it engaging and enjoyable from start to finish. To be played in one breath.

    Monster Energy Supercross 25 represents a step forward from previous titles. The progress due to the adoption of UE5 is evident and has brought the series even closer to a true simulation. Some adjustments are still necessary to better balance the difficulty level, correct sporadic problems with the opponent AI, and improve the navigability of the UI.

    Ruffy and the Riverside is an adventure-platform that seems to have come straight out of the 64-bit golden age, but the “swap system” integrated into its gameplay manages to make it quite unique in its genre and to give life to truly unique and fun puzzle elements. The perhaps excessive “richness” of some levels makes orientation more difficult than it should be and some performance issues on Switch 2 (in backward compatibility) would require prompt intervention by the development team.

    ARK is an ambitious project that, at the moment, lacks in optimisation: bugs, glitches and crashes happen too often and affect the gamer experience. The potential is enormous, but the devs should concentrate their work to solve all the issues and to fix what is already done, instead to produce new contents. Beware: the PvP servers are full of awful people, that's why you should buy the game if you are oriented to a PvE experience only.

    The world of Horizon seems tailor-made for the LEGO world. The Earth of the year 3000 and its mechanical beasts are a delight for the eyes and everything is enhanced by the always excellent direction Guerrilla. A marked linearity and repetitiveness of the level and mission design mortify a little the excellent combat system and a little more "meat around the bone" would be useful because completing Horizon Adventures will not take you more than 8 hours.

    CYGNI: All Guns Blazing aims to be a vertical-scrolling shoot'em up tied to the old traditions of the genre, taking advantage of what hardware has made possible over the last four decades. It has hit the mark, including everything that is to be expected in works of this type, without wanting to add anything else. The result is the closest thing to a coin-op we could find in a parallel universe in which arcades have not known oblivion. Fast-paced, colorful, pyrotechnic, punishing, and capable of making everyone realize that shmups can still provide a lot of fun.

    A faithful remaster of a PS2 classic, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny brings back the brooding atmosphere and layered storytelling fans remember. The improved resolution and new QoL features are welcome, but the lack of real enhancements or modern refinements holds it back. While Jubei’s journey remains compelling and replayability is high thanks to branching paths, the dated combat and stiff controls may deter newcomers. Longtime fans will appreciate the nostalgia, but this feels more like preservation than revival.

    Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a very tasty hybrid, not without flaws, but for the operation set up, it proved to be extremely fun and well packaged. The artificial intelligence of the enemies needs to be reviewed and a whole long-term structure regarding weapons, armor and skills is missing, but for the hours that will keep us glued it is that completely made game, which runs too fast with the plot and makes it almost a 'appendix, but in the end the fun is elsewhere.

    Darksiders III is a nice game, as well as a perfect sequel to a series that seemed lost in the maelstrom generated by THQ's bankruptcy. Fury might not have the charisma of the previous knight, War and Death, but overall the adventure boasts a very good pace, alternating between discreetly challenging fights and satisfying puzzles. Definitely recommended.

    When I look at Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles I keep seeing the usual formula that Cyberconnect2 has been using for years of anime tie-in fighters. It’s still an enjoyable and fun fighting game, if you care enough to get into its more obscure mechanics, but it could have been much better with more emphasis on a proper training mode and a more fleshed out campaign. Nonetheless, it’s also one of the prettiest game ever developed by the software house that created .Hack and a proper celebration of the bombastic action sequences of the original animated series produced by world-known animation studio Ufotable.

    Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is a good title, albeit some shortcomings. Unfortunately, its bigger flaw is that it falls between two very different genres, resulting in something that's neither fish or fowl. Probably Prideful Sloth could have made bolder choices for its debut title, which at the end of the day remains a decent game.

    Undisputed has the flavor of an assault on the title launched too early. Steel City Interactive's ambition is evident and also well-founded, given the quality of the boxing model created, but it has led the studio to take a step a little longer than its legs can chew. The game was born already big and not all aspects have enjoyed the same care reserved for combat, such as the Career Mode that excites between the ropes, but is as flat as the office work in the background. It is still a good title, especially for those who pay little attention to the frills and are only interested in the blows, on which in the future a new and promising dynasty can be built.

    MXGP 2020 is not a particular show of effort, and the consequence of this are noticeable on platforms that are not the PlayStation 5. On the new Sony flagship, however, a (rather primitive, admittedly) use of the DualSense is more than enough, and does a lot of work when it comes to feeling the bike in your hands. As for the rest, there are noticeable, but also not particularly impressive improvements on the (already good) MXGP 2019 experience. But let’s be honest, what we’re waiting for from Milestone is a true next gen game.

    Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is an extremely valid title that continues the idea carried out by the previous collector: to recall memories and introduce the first Lara Croft games to very young people. Accessible just enough, the aesthetic modernization is well done and pleasant to look at, apart from some small problems with the lighting. The rest of the package is about taking measures with the type of games and their release period. For everyone, but even more so, for incurable romantics it is something to absolutely have.

    As a collection, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy is pretty pointless. If you're a fan of Kishimoto's manga and for some reasons you didn't play Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst when it was originally released, you can buy just this one game.     Togges makes no secret of his sources of inspiration: Super Mario Galaxy above all, but also Katamari Damacy and Pikmin. While Togges does not have all the qualities of its benchmarks (particularly in controls and cleanliness in design), it knows its strength points and focuses on those: smooth, colourful graphics on which rests a relaxing, carefree gameplay. All in all, Togges is an average-value game that nevertheless took on a huge challenge, confronting himself with the masterpieces of the genre, without being destroyed by the comparison. But ambition and bravery should be appreciated, and rewarded too.

    Spirit of the North 2 takes the contemplative experience of the first chapter, expanding it into a larger open world, full of biomes and secrets. Combat, quests and inventory are excellently replaced by exploration, environmental puzzles and an extraordinary artistic direction. The main novelty is the introduction of the crow, able to give wings to the fox, just like a famous drink. Unique flaws: an automatic jump system that is sometimes unpredictable and a camera that is not always precise. A poetic title, visually splendid, but with some oversights in the gameplay.

    Nintendo cares about our health and to prove it brings us a new chapter of the Fitness Boxing series, urging us to get off the couch and follow the workout routines of inflexible virtual trainers. The playful streak of titles like Ring Fit Adventure and Boxing Fist of the North Star disappears in favour of more serious training based on the fundamentals of boxing. Worth considering if you're looking for an excuse to burn off those Christmas calories.

    Scorn is the classic case of a brilliant idea, diligently implemented which then lacks much of the content to be savored and enjoyed. The settings are excellent and cause great anguish, and the adventure around the exploration of these carnal and biomechanical tunnels is fantastic, but the shooting phases are faulty, the puzzles are repetitive and in some cases fillers, for a project with little longevity. Having put the nearly eight years of development on the table, it was reasonable to expect something more.

    Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands can really be an exhilarating game, thanks to the huge possibilities given to the player and the beauty of the Bolivian scenery (and the great fun when played in coop with other three friends). Unfortunately, a bunch of not insignificant flaws turn it into a missed opportunity, something that could've been bigger and better.

    Code Vein II could be described as a more accessible Elden Ring, and that wouldn't be entirely wrong. But it would be a shame to stop at the obvious similarities and simplifications, because the game behind it is undoubtedly a great game. It's a little didactic in some choices, a little fan service in others, but it's also capable of frequently resonating with the player on the other side of the screen.

    If even the original game wasn't able to take that extra step and stand out among its competition, you shouldn’t expect that its remastered version will be able to accomplish this task. Nevertheless, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning remains enjoyable despite its age. It is a "vintage" game, capable of entertaining for hours (and hours and hours and hours) with its classic fantasy story full of fantastic creatures, epic legends and fairy lands.

    Mother Russia Bleeds is a great homage to the beat'em ups that ruled the arcades in the Eighties. Excessive, vulgar, ultraviolent, it offers a fun yet deep gameplay, improved by an inspired art direction and a good soundtrack. An excessive difficulty towards the end and some technical flaws prevent the game from becoming a masterpiece, but if you love the genre, you can't miss it.

    The new episodic adventure from Telltale offers some welcome (some might say necessary) changes to the gameplay, and a revamped graphics engine (unfortunately not a new one). At its core, the “Telltale formula” still works well, and the choices we make during the game create a real and meaningful connection with the characters. The story is the best part, though, and it could really be a game changer for the Caped Crusader.

    Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack is a good collection plagued by a couple of mistakes. I wouldn't recommend it to newcomers (for them, the right game is clearly Drum 'n' Fun), but if you don't have enough of Don-chan and Ka-chan it can be a good way to get the band on the road again.

    Soul Hackers 2 delivers a dry and essential experience for Megami Tensei fans in an old-fashioned dungeon crawler that doesn't dare to risk something new. In its caution it proves to be a good game for those who can't sleep waiting for the next Persona, but those who know Atlus' demons inside out won't find anything truly innovative.

    The Gunk is game full of charm, thanks especially to its wonderful art direction and the colorful alien world it created. Unfortunately, despite its short duration The Gunk does not manage to carry this sense of wonder all the way to the end, due to repetitiveness of environments and a gameplay that ends up being far too simplistic. It’s still a valid title, especially for younger players; it just needed a little more to truly shine.

    Finding the right “number” for Until Dawn Remake is a complex balancing act. On the one hand we have an adventure that works and is entertaining, on the other a re-release that raises eyebrows quite a bit. Taking into account the quality of the work it is impossible to go below the sufficiency, but it is equally impossible to go higher, considering that the original version costs less than a third and, in terms of gaming experience, does not have any substantial difference.

    The Cub is a good game, a good platform, a pleasure to play for the five or six hours that it lasts. It’s nice that Demagog Studio is continuing to explore the same universe game after game adding pieces to this puzzle, even though in Golf Club the impact was stronger. The team has done many step forward from the gameplay perspective, but unfortunately the game is not perfectly polished. All things considered, The Cub is a really good experience.

    In what ways might Contra: Operation Galuga disappoint fans of the series? None. How, on the other hand, could it bring in new players who are not familiar with the arcade? With adrenaline-pumping action along challenging levels in which to fight your way through with a devastating weaponry, advancing one meter after another until the boss challenge. We are dealing with a bare-bones run and gun platformer in which the few extra contents are a real plus and not a formality because nowadays everyone has to have them. These are Bill and Lance's best adventures, and the two new characters are also very charismatic. Do you just want to shoot like hell? You’ll love it.
