Tides of Tomorrow is a wonderful game that brings a balance of fantastic branching dialogue and consequences of that dialogue, while also creating some meaningful and solid interactive gameplay that complements those dialogue choices. The game feels very well planned and executed.

Tides of Tomorrow stands out by betting on an ambitious and innovative idea, transforming individual choices into a shared experience between players. Despite imbalances in how these decisions impact one's own journey and the frustrating lack of post-game tools like New Game+, the title sustains its premise with a striking world, well-built characters, and an intelligent integration between narrative and mechanics, making this a memorable chapter within the genre.

Tides of Tomorrow is a special game. The fact that you’re playing almost literally in someone else’s footsteps is not only a clever concept but also incredibly well executed. If we’re being really strict, we could call Tides of Tomorrow a one-trick pony. But if that one trick works so well, there’s really nothing wrong with that. It’s a shame that the story and the environment aren’t up to the same standard, but we still have a lot of respect for what the French studio Digixart has created here.

Mixing together adventure, stealth and a gripping narrative makes Tides of Tomorrow a very intriguing prospect indeed. It's just a shame that its novel 'online story-link' mechanic isn't as enjoyable as it should be, leaving you feeling like you're existing in someone else's shadow rather than carving out your own path through this unique world.

If the future's to be sustainable - let alone bright - we may need to reduce our reliance on single-use game design. [Issue#424, p.100]

A clever core mechanic elevates Tides Of Tomorrow above its environmentalist earnestness and into a colorful curiosity that's worth checking out.

A colourful and creative first person adventure, whose From-style asynchronous multiplayer, branching plot, and faltering stealth sequences are hamstrung by a very low budget.
