If we’re being really strict, we could call Tides of Tomorrow a one-trick pony. But if that one trick works so well, there’s really nothing wrong with that. It’s a shame that the story and the environment aren’t up to the same standard, but we still have a lot of respect for what the French studio Digixart has created here.

The Story-Link feature is probably what impressed us the most: every situation we encounter across the various islands has already been experienced by another player, and the story will also evolve based on what they did. It’s a concept that may seem complex at first glance, but in practice it proves to be very rewarding, creating situations that are interesting and sometimes even amusing. Tides of Tomorrow took us on a very unusual journey— not always perfect, but absolutely satisfying for anyone looking to enjoy an original story that can be replayed by making different karmic choices. It’s impossible not to notice the developers’ boldness in proposing something new, without excessively imitating ideas already seen in other productions.

An asynchronic multiplayer, which you play Single Player is an interesting concept which is executed perfectly. You change the world around you while having to deal with the choices of your predecessor. All that wrapped in a world that is beautiful despite all the plastic pollution.

A few technical hiccups and a somewhat underwhelming aesthetic presentation prevent it from ascending to the Valhalla of video games; nevertheless, *Tides of Tomorrow* remains an experience capable of staying with you long after you have uncovered all its possible endings.

While it may have simplistic gameplay and binary decision trees, it’s definitely not an average adventure game; it's a remarkable experience that excels at what it does.

The team behind Tides of Tomorrow made a name for themselves with the brilliant Road 96 and Road 96: Mile 0 - both of which were great stories. Tides of Tomorrow is no different, and the game had no trouble keeping me hooked during the 11-13 hours it took to complete. DigixArt are good at telling compelling stories, and they do so again with this game; this time, they spice it all up with this 'asynchronous multiplayer' mechanic, which is certainly a nice gimmick - and which makes the game one of the freshest narrative adventure games we've seen in a long time.

Thanks to its exciting post-apocalyptic setting, varied gameplay, and innovative follower system that allows for indirect cooperation between players, developer DixiArt has significantly improved upon its previous offerings with "Tides of Tomorrow." While the action elements are mechanically mediocre and technical flaws become more frequent later on, these shortcomings are easily overlooked given the game's other strengths.
