Take command of the Mobile Infantry and do your part in the war against the Arachnid threat. Build, develop and control your armies to strike an effective balance between tactical superiority and strength in numbers. Ensure that human civilization, not insect, dominates the galaxy now and always!

    Planetary Campaigns
Fight for control over an entire planet in the campaign mode, where the storyline and missions develop according to your choices and achievements on the battlefield. Remain obedient to the demands of Terran Command no matter how costly or ruthless to benefit from exclusive unit types and special abilities, or follow your own path to glory to become an irrefutable Hero of the Federation. Develop and customize your forces through a detailed technology tree and upgradeable leader characters that can be assigned to your units.

    Tactics & Numbers
While the Arachnids can rely on virtually limitless numbers, the Mobile Infantry must develop effective tactics to overcome this imbalance. Deploy your units at strategic locations to cover vital choke points and gain superior firepower through tactical use of elevation levels. Be wary, however, that battle mechanics such as True Line of Sight and True Line of Fire also allow Bugs to lay ambushes around every corner, as they are well known for their use of surprise attacks and deception.

    Units & Abilities
An expansive range of unique units, weapons, and special abilities are at the disposal of MI commanders. Infantry squads armed with Morita Assault Rifles and MX-90 Fragmentation Grenades form the mainstay of your forces. Rocket Troopers deliver deadly payloads with pin-point accuracy while Engineers are vital to shore up defensive positions with MG turrets, barricades, and minefields. As a campaign progresses, technological breakthroughs unlock the true potential of the Federation's arsenal with Power Armor infantry squads, TAC Fighter airstrikes, Marauder mobile suits, and many more developments optimized for spraying Bug ichor across the battlefield.

    Key features
    - Dynamically generated campaigns for virtually limitless replayability.
    - Dozens of unique unit types, each with their own special abilities.
    - Terrain elevation, True Line of Sight & True Line of Fire provide deep tactical gameplay.
    - An extensive technology tree to develop and customize your forces.
    - Persistent leaders can be attached to units and upgraded throughout the campaign.
    - Heroics, explosions, gore, and Bugs. Lots of Bugs.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a great real-time strategy game that has you leading your troops to victory against the arachnid alien forces trying to take over the galaxy. The multiple difficulty settings make it accessible to anyone who wants to destroy bugs.

Any fan of the film, as long as he is obviously also a lover of RTS, will see his expectations fulfilled.

Even though it’s a relatively short game that doesn't bring anything new to the table, Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a joy to play. If you're a fan of the movies, you definitely shouldn't miss this game, and the same goes for all RTS fans.

Starship Troopers does a lot of interesting things with the material from the movie franchise, but that creativity does not extend to mission objectives.

Not necessarily a great strategy game on its own, but still a charming budget title that treats its license with respect and delivers some of the best Starship Troopers action we've seen in any video game so far.

While the gameplay brings nothing new to the RTS slate, and sometimes feels surpassed by games that came out a decade ago, it has just enough to propel you through its reasonably short experience. With any luck, you'll have your fill by then, because that's all there is. Replayability is virtually non-existent. There’s no multiplayer, no skirmish mode (yet), and no reasonable reason to revisit missions. It's a self-contained experience that ultimately accomplishes most of what it sets out to do: provide a fun human mulch simulator that will almost make fans forget about three substandard sequels to a fun film by capturing the old magic. Unfortunately the emphasis there is on "old."

Starship Troopers: Terran Command tries to capture the campiness and action-packed thrills of the movie, but it falters just like the invasion of Klendathu.

It is a bit rough around the edges, and you can feel that the budget wasn't very high, but it still delivers a good experience, especially if you like the Starship Troopers franchise. The only thing that felt off was a difficulty spike in Mission 14. Until then, the game was a breeze on hard difficulty, and suddenly I had to restart this mission as it got nearly impossible to finish on that save. Even after restarting, I was only barely able to complete it on my second try. Expand

It has some mechanics like the line of fire that make it interesting and force you think about positioning and how/when to micro the spellcasting (grenades or whatever, usually some kind of AOE). Only thing that's kinda lacking is macro, the game basebuilding is almost non-existent.

The game walks you through everything so building structures is almost never up to you. I was expecting something like Starcraft with base building and tactical decision making, but so much of the game just tells you to go from point a to point b and your army design and structure placement, etc. is barely up to you at all. Graphics are good, but that's about the only pro of the game. I was pretty disappointed with the game overall.

Spoke with game devs on one of the messageboards to make sure Epic online services was not included in the game and while they said presently it's not, they wouldn't rule out the possibility that it could eventually make it into the game, so this was a pretty big con for me. Ultimately I borrowed a friend's copy of the game to check it out as I would not recommend ever buying a game where the developers won't confirm / promise EOS (Epic Online Services) will stay out of the game permanently as some developers recently have been adding EOS into games retroactively, causing problems for owners of the game.

Overall game rating: 4/10 - not recommended.
