Mafia: The Old Country is neither a grand coup nor a misstep. It's a return to its roots, understated and controlled, choosing linearity to better tell a story of men, blood, and loyalty. Enzo Favara's rise within the nascent mafia lays the foundations for a dense, intelligently written story, driven by elegant artistic direction. But this narrative ambition sometimes comes up against overly tame execution. The lack of boldness in the level design and sound prevents the game from truly taking off, from taking the epic leap it deserves. We sense the attention to detail, the rigor of the staging, but also a certain restraint where it should have been more daring. Mafia: The Old Country is a good vintage, a classic but polished mafia tale, which will delight fans of strong storytelling and old-school games. However, it lacks that spark that would have made it legendary.- Jeuxvideo.com

Teased in the base game through several documents, Alan Wake plays a central role in AWE. Unfortunately, beyond the act of diving back into the world of Bright Falls and the pleasure of reuniting with an old friend, this content highlights a certain looseness of Remedy. Less inventive than The Foundation, too busy sprinkling the fan service adventure from start to finish, to the point of neglecting most other aspects of the game, AWE is proving to be disappointing in many ways.- Jeuxvideo.com

If FC 24 had shaken up some things a bit along with its name, starting with the gameplay, FC 25 has not taken this path at all. The considerable contribution this year is called Rush, a new way of playing 5 against 5 quite well integrated into all game modes alongside the classic 11-a-side football. Because even if the title integrates FC IQ, a new tactical and positioning system for AI players very interesting in Career and Clubs mode for budding managers, the gameplay hardly changes one iota compared to last season. Haters of the last opus may therefore move on, except for lovers of Kings League and Ligue 1. The latter will be able to rejoice to see many players from the French championship modeled unlike last year. Cocorico!- Jeuxvideo.com

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a unique experience in the modern video game landscape that deserves to be commended. GSC Game World's FPS offers total immersion in a fascinating post-apocalyptic universe, a survivalist vision that is (too) rare in video games and an unparalleled atmosphere. Wrath of the Druids is an interesting DLC because of its generosity but which is sorely lacking in originality and new elements compared to Valhalla. Offering 10 to 15 hours of scripted adventure, it extends the experience, serving us Ireland on a set. However, we would have appreciated a more in-depth treatment of the druids, relegated to the rank of obscure threat like “Order of the Ancients” and a much better balanced difficulty, just to do honor to the various quests, both main and secondary.- Jeuxvideo.com

Escape from Tarkov offers daring and somewhat masochistic players a highly immersive video game experience within a dystopian, realistic, and believable universe. Battlestate Games' extraction shooter stands out from other games in the genre with its uncompromising vision, intense gunfights, and rich content. However, only veterans can truly enjoy version 1.0, as they completely dominate the exclusion zone. EFT is primarily aimed at this elite group and shows little empathy for newcomers, who are likely to rage quit out of sheer frustration. The game also suffers from a real lack of optimization, a counter-intuitive interface, and unreliable matchmaking. These are all flaws that shouldn't exist in 2025.- Jeuxvideo.com

Like every year, Call of Duty tries to satisfy all gamers, no matter what they are looking for. Solo adventure, multi-competitive, collaborative zombie, free-to-play battle royale. A turnkey offer, XXL menu style, which this year lacks care at launch. We see it through the countryside which despite its exoticism offers nothing exceptional or memorable to experience. This is also seen in Zombie Mode, which at launch is only a rough sketch of what it should be and unfortunately lacks content. In the equation, the multi comes out with its head held high, offering several well-felt new features and still lively gameplay. More and more turned towards the “live service” and the updates of season, Call of Duty signs, with Vanguard, an episode of end of cycle, which asks only to evolve to improve and which turns out to be more enjoyable overall than the overall experience of Black Ops Cold War.- Jeuxvideo.com

Outriders does not revolutionize the genre, and does not have the ambition to do so. The title from People Can Fly and Square Enix recites the ranges of the perfect Looter-Shooter while abandoning the Game as a Service dimension inherent in this type of game. It stands out first and foremost with its science-fiction-inspired universe, fantasy and punk movement. The explosiveness of its combat, its extremely well thought-out customization system and this propensity to motivate players with ubiquitous power gain make this Shooter-RPG an outsider to consider. However, the anecdotal scenario, the sketchy staging, the redundancy of the missions and the instability of the game do not allow Outriders to fully assert itself on the Looter-Shooter scene.- Jeuxvideo.com

On PS5 and Xbox Series, the three games are very convincing: the real regret comes mainly from the fact that the trilogy is not offered, strictly speaking, on new generation machines, using only backward compatibility to boost its rendering. We must then draw a line on immediate loading, ray tracing or even support for DualSense features, despite a good rendering. As for the Crysis themselves, it is clear that a number of mechanisms are now aging: they remain good titles, but never speak of excellence ... It's up to you to see what you are looking for. Max Caulfield is back and she's stronger than ever. A narrative game in the vein of Quantic Dream's works, but with its own identity, Life is Strange Double Exposure is an astonishing experience. While managing to emancipate itself, the game narrates a different poetry for a result that does not leave you indifferent. Despite a somewhat slow pace and some events that are a little too disjointed, nostalgia works and we become attached again to the one who was a teenager at Blackwell. Without being revolutionary, the formula, tinged with parallel worlds and temporal powers, manages to move us. Without going all the way with its intentions, this long-awaited sequel opens a door to new adventures of the very charismatic Maxine. Can't wait for her return.- Jeuxvideo.com

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties could well be a model for all remakes. Imperfect in many respects, particularly technical ones, it distinguishes itself through its commitment to enriching its narrative and gameplay experience, and its wealth of additional content. It's undeniable that SEGA and the Ryu Ga Gotoku studio rolled up their sleeves to offer players the best and most comprehensive experience possible. After a few hours of playing, you quickly realize that Tribes of Midgard is trying too many genres at the same time and doesn't follow through on its ideas. Darwin’s Paradox is a game with many strengths. Its technical execution, art direction, and overall production values are impressive—especially given the sheer ambition it displays. The concept of playing as an octopus in a cinematic-style platformer-stealth game is excellent and well-executed, following in the footsteps of the studio’s key inspirations: Limbo and Little Nightmares. What’s more, it is far more warm and inviting than its predecessors! That said, Poulpy’s quest ultimately falls short: the gameplay never really takes off and can quickly become tedious. The whole thing is not helped by the numerous loading times as well as some detection problems, while waiting for a last game which comes to rekindle the interest of the player. The result is a battered rhythm title despite solid gameplay. But which should still appeal to fans of VR and the famous superhero.- Jeuxvideo.com

In itself, nothing is really bad and if we do even find some excellent things, many elements are unfortunately average. However, we will experience a lot of pleasure in reliving all of the iconic face-to-face saga especially as the clashes are dynamic and based on an instinctive playability.- Jeuxvideo.com

Rage 2 shines in its gunfights, driving sequences, and from the fun perks and upgrades that you can use. The open world is an invitation to exploration but still sometimes feels a bit empty.- Jeuxvideo.com

True to the world of Warhammer 40.000, Space Hulk: Tactics is a cool tactical-RPG but it never surprised us, because of its many very classical mechanics.- Jeuxvideo.com

Very responsive, fairly faithful to its inspirations, Encased knows how to offer a complete RPG, which intelligently responds to the decisions you make. Unfortunately, the title stumbles on its combat portion, rather failed and too anchored in the past, and is sometimes confused in the follow-up of the objectives to be accomplished. A pleasant experience, but not unforgettable, therefore, reserved for fans of old-school C-RPG.- Jeuxvideo.com

Despite everything, it's impossible to shy away from your pleasure when it comes to beating the League (not that easy, by the way) and watching your Pokémon evolve. A return to Sinnoh that could be improved, but very pleasant.- Jeuxvideo.com

With its fan-service and multiple references, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R is above all dedicated to the community keen on the work of Hirohiko Araki. A pampered remaster of the eponymous title from the PlayStation 3 toy library, it offers an impressive cast and gameplay that is as technical as it is dynamic. If the balance of forces is not optimal (some characters are much more powerful than others), CyberConnect2's game has enough assets to convince fighting enthusiasts. Provided you know the manga or anime. Otherwise, Battle R may be far too hermetic for neophytes and non-connoisseurs of manga.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Evil West, Flying Wild Hog sinks its big fangs into the colossi (current and former) of Beat'em up 3D and creates an explosive amalgam. Admittedly, the created creature does not shine with the freshness of its flesh, but it will be able to satisfy the primary needs of those wishing to strike before asking questions. Pleasant to play without excelling in any area, the creation of Focus is an uninhibited return to the origins of 3D action games, without excessive RPG elements or open universes diluting its content. This God of Far West with AA sauce avoids breaking his teeth on promises he would have been unable to keep. A pretty good surprise.- Jeuxvideo.com

A charming surprise and should mark the genre of adventure game thanks to the quality of the writing, the few mechanics borrowed from RPGs, the possibility of playing as a duo and its accessibility.- Jeuxvideo.com

It's hard to know who Space Adventure Cobra: The Awakening is aimed at. The action/platformer pro will find it average in 2025, while the hardcore Cobra fan will regret the general lack of ambition in telling the story they love so much. The neophyte, on the other hand, might resent having the first 12 episodes of the very good anime spoiled for them with a game of this caliber. Nevertheless, the game is not without its qualities, and even if there were surely plenty of ways to do better, it is not a fool's trap designed by the Glass Man to trap legendary heroes. Like other productions from the publisher, it's nice, it draws inspiration from many things that work elsewhere, but the result struggles to bring anything truly transcendent.- Jeuxvideo.com

If you have never touched the Ninja Gaiden saga, but you like the experiences raised, or if you are a big fan of the license of Koei Tecmo, this Master Collection is for you! Despite the years, the trilogy remains an excellent vintage made up of two wonderful experiences and a spectacular third title. However, keep in mind that this new compilation brings nothing new other than the addition of the sacrosanct 4K / 60fps on PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 5, Xbox One X and Xbox Series X and S. Three excellent games therefore, which are unfortunately grouped together in a compilation which is satisfied with the minimum union. Now that you are warned, it is up to you to decide whether or not to take out the katana or not to pour out gallons and gallons of hemoglobin.- Jeuxvideo.com

Rather complete and benefiting from a significant visual improvement, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has been able to emancipate itself from its predecessor without denigrating it. While remaining faithful to the principles of the first episode, this sequel relies on immersive and spectacular ultra-long-distance spots. The developers have chosen a path that may not appeal to everyone, but in our opinion, these sequences provide additional variety. The free phases, between action and infiltration, are still present and the overall experience is very solid. CI Games is mastering its subject more and more and demonstrating it once again.- Jeuxvideo.com
