Since the nuclear apocalypse, survivors have been piecing their shelter, tools, and weapons together from the broken remnants of the old world.     There's plenty of game here, and it's all been a joy. Far Cry 5 was one of the best games in the series, and yet New Dawn may have just eclipsed it with some fine-tuning and a brave new world to explore. I can hardly wait to see what's next from the series, and I hope it follows in the footsteps of The Father.

    Far Cry New Dawn is a ridiculously well-polished and fun to play action game (AI issues aside), with an enjoyable if largely mundane story and villains. It's so hard to negatively criticise too much. It would be unfair to judge this individual game against the wider approach of Ubisoft that some could argue needs to evolve more going into the future. The freedom that this sandbox gives to just shoot things and have fun is clear to see, and on PC the world looks incredible, filled with vivid colours, rich explosions, lush grassland and shimmering blue rivers. The real question following this conclusion to the Hope County arc and all its DLC is where Ubisoft will go next with this franchise. Ultimately it is impossible to separate New Dawn from feeling like an expensive DLC for its predecessor.

    This new Far Cry shines from its variety of side quests and a setup that gives a fresh taste to the formula. We would have loved a better scenario and a brand new AI system.

    Ubisoft brought many of their strengths to the table in Far Cry New Dawn. The gunplay, sights and sounds, and environmental storytelling were great. I’m not sure the light RPG approach worked and would have loved to see more consistency throughout the narrative and from the characters that presented it. Far Cry New Dawn did provide me with a sense of closure in Hope County, and the highs outweighed the lows, but ultimately it left me craving a more complete experience.

    Only full-time members of Joseph Seed's cult hooked on bliss will enjoy playing Far Cry: New Dawn from start to finish. The others will eventually get tired of psychedelic palette and recycled content.

    Most that vote it down is because it's colourful or don't own the game and just wan to hate. The colours in the game really work to add atmosphere.    … Expand

    Pretty simple: if you like Far Cry 5, you'll like Far Cry New Dawn. Both games have very similar gameplay and graphics (FCND is a bit morePretty simple: if you like Far Cry 5, you'll like Far Cry New Dawn. Both games have very similar gameplay and graphics (FCND is a bit more slick, but it is one year newer): story missions, side missions, loot missions, soldiers for hire etc. I've also noticed that FCND takes a page or two from Fallout 4 in terms of the post apocalyptic universe, settlement creation, workbenches, and even more of an RPG flexible character design...but it's not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you're a Fallout fan.

    All in all, fun FPS/Action/Stealth game that can be played solo or co-op.    … Expand

I prefer Ubisoft worked hard to make it feel new . . .just remove the giant open world and move the contrast up and here is the new dawn for you . . we have the co-op mode in far cry new dawn which is hours of fun with your friends. Mickey and Lou are the enemies of this game (ya not Joseph Seed no spoilers). game is an open world as all the far cry games and the main aim of the game is to upgrade prosperity ( the home base in the game) and survive in the post-apocalyptic world defending us from the highwaymen. As always the things don't go as planned and we have many obstacles in our way with side missions to move forward in the game. The storyline of FarCry new dawn is as interactive and interesting as all the FarCry games this game too with 8 hours of gameplay (approx) doesn't disappoint you at all. FarCry 5 being the start of an apocalyptic world, New dawn is its post version although the map is almost the same just a little shorter the colors of the game as compared to Far Cry 5 is eye blazing sharp and colorful, we can see tons of new guns which are kinda made from scraped out guns (As we can see on the trailer too) New dawn is pretty exciting to play and Ubisoft using the new Duniya engine has leveled up its physics game and did a pretty good job as per my view. I Will wait for Far Cry 6 to realize and check up on what new things Ubisoft has up its sleeve for now new dawn is a 7 out of 10 for me… Expand

    I remember back when I played Far Cry 5 last year that I kinda hated it, I thought it was a huge step down from its predecessors in terms ofI remember back when I played Far Cry 5 last year that I kinda hated it, I thought it was a huge step down from its predecessors in terms of game mechanics. The mute protagonist was also a huge downgrade for me because it instantly eliminates any sort of depth your main character has, turning the game into a mindless repetitive grind (unless you REALLY enjoy the gameplay loop the game has to offer). Far Cry New Dawn while still having the same issues mentioned earlier it tries to fill up the mechanical gap between the entries with 'light RPG elements'. This honestly ruined the game for me, there is no reason to have 4 types of enemies and weapons in the game. Because of this, it makes scavenging outposts a living hell if you're under equipped since there's just no way to kill the enemies that are higher level than you, let alone take the outpost undetected. Another ridiculous design decision that i could not understand is stripping away core features like the wing suit, self heal, grappling hook, fast travel etc and making them unavailable until you grind enough perks to unlock them, it makes playing the game feel like such a chore and it's obviously a decision made to increase the longevity of the game and as an incentive to purchase Perks/XP Boosters from the UbiStore, which is really low. I'm usually a fan of the franchise but I can't stand watching it being bastardized. The setting is aesthetically pleasing so that's something to look forward to if you're into stuff like this I guess, but it's definitely not what I had in mind when I was told the game has a post-apocalyptic setting. In conclusion, I suggest you skip this cash grab and wait for Far Cry 6 instead.… Expand

    Минусы (приготовьтесь): анимации хрен знает какой давности, тот же самый геймплей, что и в 5 части, повестка, речь npc не соответствует ситуации, npc очень тупые, игра очень лёгкая, враги не видят чуть ли не впритык (средний уровень сложности), ужасная физика, 0 сюжета, в открытом мире один гринд, одни и те же аванпосты нужно зачищать по несколько раз, куча багов (в основном, с гравитацией), замок можно сломать кулаком, нарушенная логика геймплея и повествования. Зачем-то добавили систему уровней. Показываются цифры урона над врагами (очень не в тему). Зачем-то была добавлена шкала ХП у врагов. Худшая часть фар края за последние 10 лет.    … Expand
