    Great Far cry romp that is in my opinion better than Far cry 5.
    Graphic are brilliant, game play is brilliant, story is a little meh, but who plays it for the story.
    Great fun and worth the money.
    Most that vote it down is because it's colourful or don't own the game and just wan to hate. The colours in the game really work to add atmosphere.

    Pretty simple: if you like Far Cry 5, you'll like Far Cry New Dawn. Both games have very similar gameplay and graphics (FCND is a bit more slick, but it is one year newer): story missions, side missions, loot missions, soldiers for hire etc. I've also noticed that FCND takes a page or two from Fallout 4 in terms of the post apocalyptic universe, settlement creation, workbenches, and evenPretty simple: if you like Far Cry 5, you'll like Far Cry New Dawn. Both games have very similar gameplay and graphics (FCND is a bit more slick, but it is one year newer): story missions, side missions, loot missions, soldiers for hire etc. I've also noticed that FCND takes a page or two from Fallout 4 in terms of the post apocalyptic universe, settlement creation, workbenches, and even more of an RPG flexible character design...but it's not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you're a Fallout fan.

    All in all, fun FPS/Action/Stealth game that can be played solo or co-op.    … Expand

    After Far Cry 5 I didn't have much hope for New Dawn, not sure what everyones problems is I have ultra setting @ 107fps average. Story is interesting and overall feels a lot more like Far Cry again. Visuals and graphics are magical and the game play is extremely fun. Everyone **** like this we will end up with another FC5 please stop

    Even adventuring around the world has enough to entice you to stay in Hope County, as well as liberating Outposts over and over again with progressive levels of difficulty, as you progress in the story the enemy behavior changes too. Fighting and problem solving simultaneously is new to the series which makes for great game play. I own every game in this series and was thinking I'll take a pass on New Dawn sure glad I didn't because it's turning out to be well worth my time and money.

    For thoughts of us who are well versed in the series and who has just played Far Cry 5 knowing that games ending gives us more details on characters we've already met which makes New Dawn even more enjoyable to play. I feel this is a must have for anyone who loves this series as I do plus lots of content to be had 12-15 hours or more..    … Expand

    Сколько незаслуженного хейта в сторону этой игры , для многих Far cry вообще "умер" после 3 части . Игра тянет на твёрдую 7 из 10 , но поскольку слишком много недалёких , то приходиться ставить 10 из 10 , дабы исправить положение

    I can't get about what bad optimizaion people are talking. The game handles constant 60 fps+ on 4k@ultra settings using RTX2080 without single stutter/lag. In same time oldie GTX970 handles 45+fps on 1080p@ultra
    Metro Exodus and AC:Odyssey have a lot worse optimization.
    The game is fun. I played all Far Cry games, and it feels good. Just forget that you played FC5:)

    The answer to the above is...kinda, I've only recently got around to finishing Far Cry 5, it didn't really grab me, I found the location slightly dull and wasn't overly impressed with the art design and gameplay loop, it was alright, a 6/10 for me, a must try harder, entertaining but ultimately failing to really instil any excitement    Far Cry New Dawn....what is it? Just more Far Cry 5?

    The answer to the above is...kinda, I've only recently got around to finishing Far Cry 5, it didn't really grab me, I found the location slightly dull and wasn't overly impressed with the art design and gameplay loop, it was alright, a 6/10 for me, a must try harder, entertaining but ultimately failing to really instil any excitement or desire to continue playing in me.

    New Dawn is ubisoft trying harder, don't get me wrong the series needs a shake up but as a stop gap, stand alone expansion this game get's quite a lot right.

    Starting with the post apocalypse....

    The gun play is identical, with slightly more entertaining weapon styles, not a bad thing as that element of gameplay was always competent anyway, the biggest change for me was the environment, far from the Fallout/Metro vision of the apocalypse this is set in the superbloom, and it's beautiful, full of vegetation and flora and turquoise water with pink neon deer...everything I didn't realise I was missing in my life. When you add in a much improved HDR implementation and an improved lighting system you end up with one of the most impressive environments I've seen yet in a videogame, and it's this dramatically more interesting environment that has me more engaged with the experience, i know it's the same map but it doesn't feel like it, and the area's that do, the bombed out remains of locales visited during the previous game are interesting to revisit, to see in their state of sad disrepair..

    In conclusion, better environment and use of colour liven up the experience dramatically, the weapons are a little more interesting and so far the game moves at a slightly brisker pace, i also like the settlement mechanic and base building elements this time around, along with the excursion missions, lots of little improvements that taken as a whole make a relatively by the numbers fps feel a little more exciting and raise it above it's predecessors.    … Expand

    I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Way better story than FC5, way better moments, everything felt more meaningful, even though it was too short. The art direction is marvelous, superb game to look at.

    Но вот что скажу, играл во все части, прошел все части FC и спин-оффы.

    Игра нереально затянула и наиграл 20 часов за 3 дня.

    Охренительное и разнообразное оружие, сильные мобы, новые механики игры, неплохой сюжет, отличная графика.

    Минусы, эту игру можно было сделать еще круче! Добавить больше боссов, развить тему мутантов зверей дальше, добавить оружие по типу bordelrands.

    По факту отличный и качественный эксперимент с серией, советую не вестить на высеры и попробовать игру самому.    … Expand

    I had a lot of fun with this game, definitely worth the less than usual AAA price. I think Ubisoft's Far Cry formula is great fun, and this game's light RPG mechanics and superpower stuff along with the unusually colourful post apocalyptic setting made it much more interesting than the game it's borrowing it's landscape from. Honestly my favourite Far Cry experience since Blood Dragon.

    I have played all Far Cry games, except primal, and I think this one is among the best.

    It strays pretty far from the rest of the franchise in that it has a lot more RPG elements than the others. There is the usual perk tree, but you can upgrade some perks several times. The same is true for the guns, which you first craft, and then upgrade to do higher damage by using more materials.     The story far surpasses Far Cry 5 with more fleshed out characters who are given a back story, albeit a short one, but still with emotional depth. It also concludes the story from the previous game in a satisfying way.

    While it uses a part of the map from Far Cry 5 it is barely recognizable. Even though only 17 years have passed since the nuclear apocalypse everything has drastically decayed (for some reason) and there were only a few places I could clearly identify from their glory days.

    I don't have much negative to say, but the thing that bugged me the most were the followers. There are eight in total, out of which six are human and two are animals, a dog and a boar. All the human followers have only a few lines of dialog which they keep repeating, they attack when I don't want them to and and ignore enemies when I need help. They are slow to get in a vehicle with me and several tend to to use attacks that turn the battlefield into a raging fire inferno which is incredibly annoying. The animals are far better and have really useful perks to boot.

    The price of the game is also a detractor with two thirds of the price of the predecessor, but only one third of the content.    … Expand

    As a player who haven't played Far Cry 5 I loved it. Other people say that the game is bad just because its similar to FC5.? But if you did not play Far Cry 5 BUY NEW DAWN!!!

    Очень сильно удивился, сюжет крайне сильно затянул. Деление оружия на уровни поначалу показалось бредом, но потом сильно втянуло. В общем игра на удивление хороша.

    A little more cartoony (console-ish) than Far Cry 5, but still entertaining, even if the humor sometimes gets in the way of immersion.

    If I'd paid full price for this at release I'd probably score it lower, but at current Steam prices I see no reason to doc points for being only 3/4 of a new game.

    As a big fan of Far Cry 5, I welcome this one, following the same overall formula: freedom of action in between story telling, with    Open world shooter, you can treat it as a large DLC to Far Cry 5. If you like Far Cry 5, you will be happy to find a very nice post apocalyptic setup of a familiar map. With a very colorful aesthetics. The game adds replayable arenas and captured outposts.

    A historia é fraquíssima e assim como no primeiro jogo, tinha um enorme potencial. Os personagens são mortos, com motivações incompreensíveis; os diálogos são horrorosos e o senso de drama abordado no jogo é digno de risadas. Eu realmente queria saber quem leu e revisou esse roteiro.

    Quanto aos bugs, não presenciei nenhum. Houve um Crash que travou todo meu PC, mas vindo da Ubi, nem me surpreendi. E eu não poderia deixar de falar: as boss fight desse jogo são horríveis, pois não exigem habilidade/inteligencia do player. É só ficar dando tiro até descer a barra gigantesca de vida do "boss" - além de serem bem desinspiradas.

    Porém, apesar dos problemas acima, é um bom jogo, mas que fique claro que estou analisando-o como uma DLC, até porque usa o mesmo MapDesign do FC5    … Expand

    I bought this game only because I wanted to know what happened to Seed and the deputy. The game was extremely fun, I loved the new game elements, the expeditions, and the level grinding too.
    The only problem with this game is that it's too short, the main story can be completed in about 10 hours.

    Had a blast with New Dawn; I was pleasantly surprised with the quality-of-life improvements to the gameplay and the UI. The voice acting was great, and the world looks phenomenal.

    i finished this game twice

    the world and its secrets were really impressive it was so nice to find their notes in different parts of the map and remember from far cry 5.

    the story sucks, I write by keeping it apart :)

    I know everyone hate this game, but it's one of the bests games i've ever played. 18 years later after Far Cry 5 in New Dawn looks gorgeous.

In the end, it's the better Far Cry 5, with more beautiful and colorful graphics, great HDR effects, and less story- and mission overloaded. So it's only half a Far Cry in terms of mapsize and design, missions, weapons and story depth, but I personally enjoy itAs always, you have to get into the game and get over the mental hurdle of it beeing an ordinary Far Cry without much innovation. In the end, it's the better Far Cry 5, with more beautiful and colorful graphics, great HDR effects, and less story- and mission overloaded. So it's only half a Far Cry in terms of mapsize and design, missions, weapons and story depth, but I personally enjoy it more than the main game FC5, just because it is NOT so cluttered.

    Btw: Game works fluffy on a GTX 1080 and 1440p with FPS arround 70-80.    … Expand

    A revamped (and shorter) map of Far Cry 5 after the FC5 events. Well, I had the curiosity to try it out and being a fan of post-ap games, I really liked it.
    The plot didn't make any sense but this game was supposed to be a DLC from FC5 so I was prepared for a very short story and just little things to do. In the end I was pretty satisfied.

    But please Ubisoft, remove this RPG-like gameplay, removing HP bars, numbers when shotting people, hard to kill enemies and no saw launchers on next games, please.    … Expand

    This is my 3rd Far Cry experience and so I'm quite satisfied with it. The game is cheaper than it's other parts since it's a spin-off and not a Far Cry 6 game.
    However, the gameplay, graphics, and plot were so great! It was simply awesome and interesting + saddening to see Hope County after the Nuclear end of the world.

    The game was good and I had a blast. I played it in normal difficulty and have to admit that even that felt like easy difficulty for me after reaching a certain part in the game. I might switch it up to the hardcore difficulty.

    There's not a lot of game time in this spin-off, seeing as there are only 22 Story missions and only 8 side missions. But the new systems they implemented on outposts and enemies are quite cool and I've already grown fond of them hoping they make a return in the next installment.
    The game was so much fun that I played it 3 days in a row without touching my other games AT ALL.

    There are microtransactions in the game, but they are quite useless since you can grind everything AND it doesn't even take that long. ''Prestige'' is the status for some weapons and vehicles which makes them buyable with the new currency, but they are completely buyable with in-game resources and thus grinding.

    The weapons were creative and they had a fun descriptions of them. I loved the neon color scheme the game had (Rage 2 and Fallout 76 also have a neon color focus, but those games are well known to have sucked)

    Buy it and support Ubisoft since they made a fun experience once again and a lovely destroyed Hope County map for us to explore yet again!    … Expand

    I treated this game as an expansion for Far cry 5 with a twist (and bought it priced as such). That is exactly what i got and more. Personally I thought it was a massive improvement over FC5, if only there was more of it.

    Always liked the idea of FC in the post apocalypse, I like the game's aesthetic and design as well, I just wish some elements weren't dumbed down from FC5 like being able to use drugs, skinning animations etc. Could also use more random events variety and the story is way too short and a bit underwhelming at the end.

    Ich habe Far Cry 5 schon in den Himmel gelobt und findealles in New Dawn nochmal etwas besser gemacht. Medi-Kits und Würfgeschosse einfach im Waffenrad beim Laufen herstellen, man hat gefühlt unendlich Materialien, ein sehr gutes Waffenstufen-System, ausballancierter Schwierigkeitsgrad, sehr gut mit den Außenposten umgesetzt und die Expeditonen sind ebenfalls eine Klasse Idee gewesen, da kommt man nochmal an Orte die man über die normale Open World nicht erreichen kann.

    Man kann auch wieder entscheiden wie man spielt, ich mag Stealth eigentlich überhaupt nicht aber in Far Cry habe ich da immer mal wieder tatsächlich Bock drauf. Das Menü wurde nochmal verbessert, man levelt die Basis, man levelt seine Begleiter hoch, nach 15 und 40 Abschüssen, ok sie leveln sich selber hoch aber man sollte sie am Anfang erstmal alle bis sie 15 Kills haben mitnehmen, weil es ja auch schwieriger wird und das erste Upgrade denen schon sehr hilft bzw sie gut stärkt. Die Skillpunkte sind überhaupt nicht knapp, es gibt 10 X 3 für die Schatzsuchen wie man sie auch den Prepper Verstecken von Far Cry 5 kennt und genügend durch Herausforderungen, man muss sie sich gar nicht durchlesen, macht man fast alles automatisch, a und zu ggf. mal die Waffenklasse wechseln, das reicht, ansonsten gibt's auch noch durch Expeditionsabschlüsse Skillpunkte, die sind nach Stufe 3 unendlich wiederholbar und machen echt Spaß.

    Ich weiß nicht was viele an der Story auszusetzen haben, das Spiel ist zwar etwas kürzer, wenn man alle Expeditionen und Außenposten auf allen Stufen macht, wobei die zwei Aktivitäten jetzt immer sehr schnell vorrüber sind, kommt man auf eine Spielzeit von 20 - 25 Stunden. Die Story ist GUT, die Zwillinge sind richtige Bada**e und haben eine gute Vertonung, ich empfehle auf jeden Fall vor diesem Spiel Far Cry 5 zu spielen, ich habe mich immer sehr gefreut, wenn ich etwas wiedererkannt habe und es ist sehr spannend wie sich die Charaktere verändert haben, ein super Spiel! Ich habe nichts zu bemägeln, das einzige was man machen könnte, wäre den Speicherpunkt nach Abschluss der Story nach dem Kampf der Zwillinge zu setzen, damit man die Chance hat jede Entscheidung einmal auszuwählen.     Open world in New Dawn exists for one single purpose: to let player engage next group of enemies on his own terms. Hopefully, in next game Ubisoft will finally get rid of RPG elements (mainly, bizarre multi-tiered guns) and go back to the formula of first Far Cry. [Issue#236, p.54]

    Only full-time members of Joseph Seed's cult hooked on bliss will enjoy playing Far Cry: New Dawn from start to finish. The others will eventually get tired of psychedelic palette and recycled content.

    Far Cry New Dawn is a ridiculously well-polished and fun to play action game (AI issues aside), with an enjoyable if largely mundane story and villains. It's so hard to negatively criticise too much. It would be unfair to judge this individual game against the wider approach of Ubisoft that some could argue needs to evolve more going into the future. The freedom that this sandbox gives to just shoot things and have fun is clear to see, and on PC the world looks incredible, filled with vivid colours, rich explosions, lush grassland and shimmering blue rivers. The real question following this conclusion to the Hope County arc and all its DLC is where Ubisoft will go next with this franchise. Ultimately it is impossible to separate New Dawn from feeling like an expensive DLC for its predecessor.
