id Software delivers a memorable conclusion to the Doom Slayer epic. By erasing the flaws of the previous expansion, Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods, Part II offers the most complete games of the series. The new enemies are integrated very well and create new well thought out challenges. Apart from its lifespan, which can be explained by its release model, this new content has nothing to envy to the base game and closes the saga of the Doom Slayer with panache.

After Banana Blitz HD deemed too simple by the majority of players, the Super Monkey Ball saga decides to go back to its beginnings to offer early fans what they expect: a level of difficulty. Unfortunately, even if the challenge is indeed present, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania disappoints. The 4K / 60fps combo available on next-gen is not enough to hide the many flaws of this remaster, starting with the camera which lacks flexibility and the general level-design which plays too much with chance. However, if you hang on to the formula, note that you get what you pay for. The content is more than generous, the replayability is strong and the store is a pleasant surprise that adds extra interest.

We immediately like Nobody Wants to Die for its controlled and simply sublime cyberpunk film noir atmosphere. We come back for the fabulous choices of staging, the animated universe and the gargantuan settings in which we could get lost for hours. The game nevertheless suffers from a handful of flaws in its narrative, its frustrating gray areas and the absence of a journal in which we could have kept track of convoluted affairs. The walking sim remains pleasant to navigate as a whole but its few mechanics are also regrettably too interventionist.

South of Midnight proves to be a marvelous auditory spectacle driven by exceptional artistic direction. The captivating world of the Gothic South, enhanced by stop-motion aesthetics and a masterful soundtrack, immerses us in a fantastic and touching story. But the offering is hampered by a cruelly generic gameplay loop that undermines a memorable adventure for its artistic purpose, and one that deserves to be discovered despite its few pitfalls.

To prepare an excellent Visual Novel cocktail, we particularly need a very good writing quality, varied narrative paths and the ability to transport ourselves to a world with a unique atmosphere. On these points VA-11 Hall-A is very convincing. But where the recipe turns sour, it is in the inability of the game to renew its gameplay and its sequences.

Behind its colorful neon lights, Soul Hackers 2 remains an "old-school" role-playing game that strays from more recent titles in its franchise like Persona 5 Royal or Shin Megami Tensei V. Beyond its cyberpunk anime aesthetic, the Atlus' game relies on an ever-effective and proven SMT-like combat system, but also on its friendly cast of characters who stand out for their original designs. Unfortunately, the experience is served by a story that is ultimately quite simple, with some technical shortcomings, but above all by its far too basic and repetitive dungeons which struggle to stimulate the player. A title that has something to please experienced role-playing game enthusiasts.

If we had to sum up Star Wars Outlaws, it would be in two words: immersion and classic. It's simple, we are facing the most immersive Star Wars video game we have ever seen, with a living and credible universe that perfectly recalls the atmosphere of the original trilogy through a multitude of details. On the other hand, its classic but effective gameplay and open world compensate for their lack of originality with varied game sequences and the density of the activities offered. The result is an experience that looks like a good student, which favors substance over form by showing that it perfectly masters its subject through a structure that does not innovate. One thing is certain, is that Star Wars fans will enjoy this adventure made by fans for fans.

With Zenless Zone Zero, HoYoverse proves that it knows how to renew itself to remain the king of gacha. With its urban universe teeming with details, its original characters and its impressive cinematics, ZZZ benefits from a production value worthy of an AAA, even more than the previous productions of the Chinese studio. Besides that, the title does not forget the essentials with simple to access but high-level technical gameplay, with satisfactory endgame content even if the main plot is for the moment quite classic. Whether in its gameplay or its structure, Immortals Fenyx Rising will not surprise anyone who has touched a recent open world, that's for sure. Its borrowings from the last Zelda are numerous and glaring, but in the service of a pleasant adventure. Its open world is dense, well built and its scale makes it particularly pleasant to walk. Taking between 20 and 25 hours to see the end of it in a straight line, Immortals does good by providing a pressure-free experience. We will therefore easily recommend it to those who want to discover the game in the open world. Too bad its sometimes catastrophic storytelling interferes with the immersion.

If Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition allows a new audience to discover a cult PS1 game in good conditions, the latter could have been better. On the one hand, this remaster benefits from updated graphics, an improved soundtrack but also new accessibility options and exclusive content that makes it interesting both for neophytes and for those who know already the title. But on the other hand, between the lack of a tutorial, perfectible menu ergonomics, but above all a still unstable framerate, this update could have offered a better rendering. It remains to be seen whether patches will correct some of its problems in the future to make the experience even more pleasant.

As Dusk Falls tells a touching story whose universal themes (family, forgiveness, loyalty) will speak to a wide audience. Staged with talent thanks to an inspired editing and well-chosen music, the title has the good idea of alternating humor and darkness, moments of bravery and erasure. Fascinating in its first half, the software published by Microsoft struggles to find the same flashes in its last three chapters, which is regrettable. With a restrictive gameplay that will not reconcile those allergic to interactive film with the genre, As Dusk Falls shines with its many choices that cause very real consequences. Disappointing ! Milestone was off to a good start with its pretty MotoGP 20, full of promise with finally a career mode worthy of the name. But instead of polishing it, the Italian studio has put the diamond in the next-gen's garage this season. MotoGP 21 is stagnating in the gameplay, the fault of the sets and animations still unchanged and quite dull, an AI that falls back into its faults causing too many accidents and the absence of a split screen mode. Worse, the title regresses in content, puts the historical mode to oblivion and brings no notable novelty to the career. Even the shimmering visual identity of MGP20 has given way to a dreary ersatz menu, enough to assure us of one thing: the next installment in the series will be expected around the corner.

Mario vs Donkey Kong has gotten a big facelift thanks to a remake that we would like to see more often. A great game to look forward to the next plumber games. Remake or not.

Kylotonn tooks its time to cook its WRC 8, and it’s all for the best. Deeper and prettier than any of its predecessors, WRC 8 as a great career mode and looks good. It also plays better, with sharper driving.

A deep action game, just as dynamic and enjoyable as its predecessors on traditional media. With World of Demons, the Japanese studio is indeed showing unfailing generosity, both on the size of the bestiary and on the number of powers available, without of course forgetting the options to improve the weapons and the different playable characters. Even after eight hours of play, we are surprised to discover new subtleties and possibilities, pushing to invest and widen the mind to face the advanced difficulty modes, thanks to the natural element system. Do this if you like action games, and have an Apple Arcade subscription.

Without fundamentally upsetting the codes inherent in Souls Like, Mortal Shell knows how to adorn itself with a personality of its own, as much thanks to its system of discovery of objects as of combat, which manages to largely compensate for the absence of parry posture with mechanics of hardening, determination and counter-perfect perfectly interwoven.

It's a small jump that Milestone offers with MotoGP 22. The official simulation of the world motorcycle speed championship is better made than the previous part, but does not manage to take the series to a new level. The fault with a graphic quality in game, with an engine which begins to age without forgetting that the license stagnates in the animations and its career mode. However, the title manages to bring interest with its new "Season Nine" mode retracing the mythical 2009 season, a convincing artificial intelligence and a split screen finally available. The Italian studio limits the damage, the benchmark title for MotoGP will wait.

Bleach Rebirth of Souls is reminiscent of the cel-shaded fighting games that were all the rage in the early 2000s. While the sometimes redundant and somewhat complex approach to combat may be surprising at first, the game quickly reveals the depth of its content with a roster of 32 characters and a Campaign mode that retraces a large part of the manga. The technical aspect, on the other hand, is behind, and we should therefore not expect a title that meets current visual codes. Thirty years after Toshinden, Tamsoft is giving the Bleach license a boost in video games, and that can only please fans.

The player also has the possibility of settling the challenge at his convenience and at any time. Another very good point that allows you to appreciate in all circumstances the universe of Young Souls, which has been the subject of very special care despite a writing that is ultimately quite perfectible.

Dead Island 2 does not revolutionize the saga or the survival game, but provides the essentials. Dambuster Studios offers fans of zombie survivalism a bloody and sunny journey to the heart of a red-painted City of Angels. Mutilating the emaciated has never been so brutal and the pleasure felt so visceral. This FPS is not perfect, far from it, and suffers from a certain repetitiveness that it tries to erase with undeniable generosity. The Dead Island franchise is well and truly back, a resounding return through the front door.

Planet Coaster 2 wanted to be the ultimate theme park creation game, and it succeeded. The level of detail, the range of parameters to consider, and the number of creation possibilities offered are dizzying. The risk of being discouraged by so much wealth is real, especially since the unclear interfaces and incomplete tutorials will not help you enough. But, in the same way that your visitors will be able to choose whether or not to dive into your new pools, it is up to you to decide which game you will dive into: a demanding micro-management game? An ultra-complete construction game? Or just a fun time on the career mode, borrowing magnificent creations from the community? Everything is possible, and the frustration of not being able to do what you want is reduced. Who said it was easy to tame an almost perfect game?

Ride 4 is more complete than its predecessor in terms of gameplay possibilities, that's a fact. It retains its qualities in the finesse of the grip, will delight fans of the first hour without totally putting off the neophytes, and adds several strings to its bow...On the other hand, Ride does not advance in its staging, tasteless on the track and in the off-circuit events, and even regresses in the career. The latter is running out of fuel in terms of originality, even showing itself to be frustrating in its construction.

While FIFA 23's new set piece and power kick system won't appeal to everyone, version 2 of the Hypermotion engine does wonders for player animations and rendering. On the other hand, this opus improves the career mode in a beautiful way, especially when one embodies a player and tries to dust off FIFA Ultimate Team thanks to “Moments” and a new way of thinking about the collective. Something to shake up the regulars a bit. In short, if it does not revolutionize its formula, this FIFA 23 is one of the most complete in the saga before moving to EA Sports FC.
