For a game where you embody Death, Have A Nice Death just misses posterity but turns out to be a super solid rogue-lite action game, recommended to all fans of the genre. Get ready to giggle at the setbacks of Death Incorporated, to rack your teeth at well-groomed bosses, and to have endless fun, controller in hand, with cutting-edge gameplay with varied powers. Even the art direction works wonders. Overall: we especially regret a timid level design and a challenge that is a little too full-bodied, which come to weigh down the repetitiveness inherent in the genre. For the rest, it's all good.

A family adventure that exudes good humor and which will undoubtedly warm your heart, Tchia delivers a story as touching as it is effective and gratifies us with absolutely brilliant music and highly warm characters. It's also an exploration game that is teeming with beautiful little ideas, making the ride devilishly pleasant. We only regret that the open world is not attractive enough in terms of content to keep us long in its scope once the story is over.

The unexpected arrival of a new episode of Project Zero, 15 years after its debut in Japan, in a reworked version translated into French, may delight us to the highest degree, but above all it highlights the urgency of modernizing the gameplay from the series. As it stands, this remaster is therefore only intended for fans of the franchise who have been waiting for a long time for an opportunity to discover this fourth opus.

No doubt: Resident Evil 4 Remake is simply an excellent horror action game and Capcom proves, for the umpteenth time, its ability to produce a controlled adventure with an exemplary finish. The basics of the original game couldn't be more solid, but the firm has been able to modernize the whole thing to make the adventure more intense, deeper in its game systems and even more thrilling. Was a remake necessary? Maybe not, but impossible to spit on this impressive version, which knows how to honor the original material as well as to bring it a rejuvenation that is ultimately very relevant. Finally, if we have a mad desire to finish Resident Evil 4 as soon as possible, it is to start it again immediately.

With Bayonetta Origins, Platinum Games is stepping out of its comfort zone to offer a more relaxed experience, and it's succeeded. Thanks to its sublime colorful art direction, Cereza's first adventure draws inspiration from storybooks to deliver a visual rendering that retains its charm until the end. Controller in hand, the title takes up elements of Bayonetta 3 by making us control two characters simultaneously for an approach as original as it is confusing at first glance. Finally, it is especially by its well-paced progression that the experience captivates the player, alternating fights and puzzles with great fluidity, even if we tend to see the structure repeating itself at the end of the game. For all these reasons, Bayonetta Origins is a friendly and charming adventure that takes pride of place among the Nintendo Switch exclusives.

After Nioh, Team Ninja once again proves its great mastery of action-RPG with Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. Admittedly, the copy is not perfect (bestiary not provided enough, rather disappointing endgame, side missions which take up areas already visited) but the gameplay is so solid that we are ready to excuse almost everything! Here, it's all about parry, martial arts and spells, in a novel approach for the genre. Most of the atmospheres are successful, there is plenty to choose your path as a warrior and everything is even more accessible than the studio's Japanese Souls-like. An excellent pickaxe, which is also available "day one" in the Xbox Game Pass.

Little promoted by Nintendo, and looking like a typical end-of-life port of a console, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe was not going to leave us with an imperishable memory. However, beyond a very nice HD remaster which graphically puts it at the level of Kirby Star Allies (which it surpasses in terms of gaming experience), the title of HAL Laboratory is distinguished by the substantial amount of new content generously inflating its lifespan. Whether solo or multiplayer, this new part of the franchise is more gourmet than you could have imagined, will give you plenty to enjoy for many hours, and fully deserves its "Deluxe" version label.

Octopath Traveler had set the bar so high in 2018 that it was not certain that its successor would manage to do as well. If it is not necessarily very daring in terms of novelties, this second opus above all strives to refine an already almost perfect formula by integrating ever more subtleties. Fascinating in terms of the scenario, the game system and the strategy resulting from the fights, the title also displays a mastery of HD-2D more fascinating than ever with striking light effects. Too bad the emotion is a little less palpable throughout the adventure.

This remake in no way distorts the original 2014 experience, but modernizes the visuals and gameplay enough to make the adventure memorable a decade later. Without revolutionizing the genre, Wild Hearts offers a direct approach to the game of hunting. With the mechanics of the Karakuris, the fights take advantage of a strategic dimension thanks to these constructions that are effective both against monsters and to adjust the levels in its own way. Far from forgetting the essential, the experience of Omega Force offers a nervous and dynamic gameplay, characteristic of the studio, supported by a limited, but varied arsenal.

Beautiful, lively, exhilarating and surprising, it drips with passion and magic and is a real pleasure to browse. But that's not all ! With its very good ideas, its world just waiting to be explored, its art direction to die for and its combat system as addictive as it is magical, it is quite simply an excellent action and adventure game. We would have liked choices with more impact or a proposal a little off the beaten track. As you will have understood, there are many things to say about Hogwarts Legacy. But to leave you the surprise, we let you discover the magic of this game which will very clearly mark the year 2023. And, who knows, it may be a potential good candidate for the GOTY...

With Fire Emblem Engage, the Nintendo Switch offers itself a first quality exclusivity at the start of 2023. Like Three Houses, the fights are always fluid and accessible, and even benefit from spectacular animations which reinforce the pleasure of play. also in depth thanks to the Emblem Fusion mechanic which offers tools to approach situations with intelligence. Beyond the quality of the design of its friendly characters, the title also shines with its successful graphic rendering for the Nintendo Switch, even if we note sometimes poor environments and a static staging. Finally, it is more by its not always practical menus and its classic story and more interventionist than Three Houses that the experience is a little fishing. Not enough to sulk the pleasure of this new Fire Emblem which remains an excellent way to start the year controller in hand.

The game has never looked so good on home consoles, whether in 4K Ray-Tracing or in 60 frames per second. If this update also offers nice game comfort options, the adventure remains similar to what we knew until then, for lack of new content. Despite the number of years, The Witcher 3 remains one of the essential titles of recent years, both in terms of role-playing, history or even open world. If you haven't experienced it yet and don't have a powerful PC, then this next-gen update is a great way to experience the world of the witcher Geralt of Rivia.

Between the remaster and the remake, Crisis Core Reunion brilliantly brings up to date one of the best games on the PSP. Thanks to graphics at the height of Final Fantasy VII Remake, we make the most of the touching adventure of Zack, a character still as charismatic and endearing. Far from being a simple visual facelift, the gameplay is also modernized through more flexible controls and comfort options that make combat more dynamic and fluid than ever. And if we find all the elements that made the strength of the original experience like its materia system, certain flaws persist like its rushed story at times, its linear structure or even its phases of play which are not all equal. Not enough to spoil this beautiful story which remains a central stone in the universe of Final Fantasy VII and which should play an important role in Rebirth, the sequel to FFVII Remake, scheduled for next year.

With splendid landscapes full of details and references for the most accustomed, this ninth expansion surprises with its simple, but effective approach. This quintessence of more traditional elements has not skimped on the novelties, including the particularly successful dragon flight and the new class and race. Of course, not everything is perfect, such as the often repetitive quests, the low screenplay challenge and the too classic arrival on the island of Dragons. However, there is an effort on the part of Blizzard to create an immersive and welcoming adventure for everyone. Dragonflight offers a haven of peace that all the heroes and proud defenders of Azeroth dreamed of... while waiting for high-level content that will undoubtedly satisfy seasoned players who like tough challenges.

Marvel's Midnight Suns manages to make tactical combat accessible to a new audience while showing great respect for the license it features. By choosing to create a new character, the Firaxis teams place the player at the center of this adventure, surrounded by a cast of five-star superheroes to please everyone. This desire is also felt in the tactical combat which advocates a more direct approach, but also more spectacular and satisfying thanks to a card system that is more intuitive than one could imagine. But in addition to its fairly slow pace of play, the title is particularly talkative with all the funny and friendly interactions they offer within the Abbey. Despite these small flaws, Firaxis manages to offer an experience that is both affordable to an audience unaccustomed to tactics and rich for fans of the genre thanks to its complex mechanics, while honoring the superheroes of the Marvel universe.

If we would have liked for the last dance of the KT Racing-WRC collaboration real novelties on the Career mode and a little more fantasy on the classic game modes or the dressing, WRC Generations does the job. With Evil West, Flying Wild Hog sinks its big fangs into the colossi (current and former) of Beat'em up 3D and creates an explosive amalgam. Admittedly, the created creature does not shine with the freshness of its flesh, but it will be able to satisfy the primary needs of those wishing to strike before asking questions. Pleasant to play without excelling in any area, the creation of Focus is an uninhibited return to the origins of 3D action games, without excessive RPG elements or open universes diluting its content. This God of Far West with AA sauce avoids breaking his teeth on promises he would have been unable to keep. A pretty good surprise.

While staying true to The Dark Pictures franchise, The Devil in Me attempts to innovate by incorporating an inventory system and characters with real-world expertise. By taking on America's first serial killer, the game manages to instill an interesting vibe with its "Castle of Murders." Unfortunately, and although we are curious about the fate of each of the protagonists, the title struggles to convince completely. The story takes a long time to start, the pace is a little too slow – despite some nice finds – and we feel little empathy for the characters, stereotypical as possible. If we add a gameplay that accumulates clichĆ©s seen and reviewed, The Devil in Me does not have the content of The Quarry or even of a House of Ashes. Despite everything, the formula works thanks to the place inspired by a real event and a finale rich in tension.

No need to go overboard: Warzone 2.0 is an excellent sequel that builds on the very good foundations of its predecessor. Above all, this is not a simple update. The new battle royale opts for a more tactical and "realistic" approach to loot, playing perfectly in concert with other new features (proximity chat, areas with several circles, bases guarded by AI, etc.). As a result, the experience is renewed and still very effective, thanks to a great game engine and top-notch shooting sensations. Finally, we just have a few reservations about artificial intelligence, which should be reviewed, especially given its new importance in games, and for the famous DMZ mode, which still lacks a lot of challenges at the moment. For the rest, it's free and it's an excellent game. Let's go!

This port on PC is particularly successful and guarantees us to have a good time. It does not suffer from any slowdown and its overall quality remains very high, regardless of the configuration used. Thus, this PC version of Miles Morales is a golden opportunity to discover or rediscover the adventures of the spider-man, in particular thanks to its excellent gameplay and its very good handling. A grandiose Manhattan, a difficulty in the hair and a lifespan quite acceptable for a game of the genre, you will not regret your purchase.

Highly anticipated after a Sword / Shield that was a little too shy and Arceus much more daring, but very different, PokƩmon Scarlet / Purple clearly advances a license that has always stagnated too much, and takes many paying risks. If we manage to ignore the really disappointing graphics, it's a safe bet that this 9th generation of PokƩmon will be a milestone. Game Freak has clearly understood very well how to design an open world with non-linear progression, ideally thought out for a series that needed this much appreciated little facelift. One day, perhaps, the technical aspect will follow and the holders of the most profitable franchise in the world will offer us a real revolution capable of making an impression. In the meantime, we remain on a very satisfying episode which is good for the license.

With its slick aesthetic close to illuminations and its implacable authenticity, Pentiment is a scintillating tribute to the Renaissance era. It is also granted some rather intriguing crime scenes, a handful of funny scenes and above all a successful time structure and choices that really matter. Too bad that his story sometimes so laborious and a last act slightly winded are so many thorny elements.

Very respectful of the hit of yesteryear, Arkanoid Eternal Battle is adorned with a successful electro look and new mechanics that will delight fans of the genre. Uninhibited brick breaker, the Pastagames title has the good idea of integrating an ingenious Battle Royale mode, but also a single or multiplayer mode for long winter evenings. If the content could be more generous – if only in terms of rewards – the room for improvement is such that we come back to it regularly to improve our reflexes. A good little game that is just waiting for a large community to give full meaning to the Battle Royale.

Like the other episodes before it, Football Manager 2023 has the daunting task of convincing series regulars to checkout and attract newcomers. A successful bet, for a title that is still just as complete, precise and addictive once a game has started... Without bringing any major revolution in terms of playability, this new component, in addition to playing it safe with the same winning recipe, poses when even new solid bases, with the arrival of a strong and iconic license like the Champions League and an interesting management of the supporters, until then a little left on the side. This is enough to ensure an even deeper immersion... but not to the point of offering us a major revolution.

Transforming a historically linear formula into an open world is not easy, and the Sonic Team is doing it without managing to avoid all the pitfalls that such a change imposes, starting with the repetitiveness of the adventure, a perfectible technique and a camera in difficulty. However, this new Sonic experience blows a breath of fresh air on the saga with its titanic combats, its open-world "platformer" approach and its desire to push its own limits, even if it means losing control.

Trust us, you'll love experiencing the prophetic end of the world in God of War Ragnarok. This new episode contains a moving, epic, generous and extremely dense epic. Santa Monica does at least very well in every aspect of its game and promises to make you feel a string of emotions, enough to brush aside its few weaknesses. And then if the sensations in terms of gameplay are not upset by drastic changes, they remain exceptional and are filled with very beautiful additions. If you thought that the Nordic saga would have nothing new to offer, the adventure of Ragnarok quickly shows you the opposite.

With very solid foundations that do honor to the 2019 opus, the series innovates, bringing new gameplay, new equipment clearly welcome. Above all, the progression is much smoother - with a nice job on the system to unlock weapons! Somewhere, everything is done to welcome new players and this is a very good point. Even the third-person mode is surprisingly successful. Overall, this opus will undoubtedly lose the purists accustomed to faster gameplay. For the rest, if you want to indulge yourself with frenetic action, this is ideal. [Multiplayer Review Score = 80]

Bayonetta 3 definitely marks the comeback of the Platinum Games witch. With this new adventure, Bayonetta proves once again that she is the queen of beat'em up by offering battles that are still as exhilarating and spectacular as ever, which are sublimated here thanks to many new weapons and the mechanics of summoning demons. which changes the way of fighting. In addition to being a superb beat'em up, the title does not forget to offer a certain variety, both in its more open levels and in its game phases, in particular by making us play other characters like Viola and Joan. And then, the adventure is all the more pleasant to go through as it benefits from a high frame rate in combat, an epic staging, but also a more serious scenario which delivers a grandiose outcome. . Obviously, this episode is not perfect for all that, with its sometimes messy confrontations, its graphics far from being impeccable or its wiser side than usual, but it remains a new memorable adventure nonetheless. Clearly worth the long wait.

The adventures of Anu, Octavio and Fran struggle to achieve the furious madness that we have come to expect from a game stamped Borderlands. Sometimes irreverent, often conventional, the title signed Gearbox is satisfied with the union minimum for an Interactive Drama of 2022 in terms of gameplay. The virtual absence of Cornelian choices and the rhythm which collapses after the third chapter prevent him from forgiving his lack of ambition. The problem with New Tales from the Borderlands isn't that it doesn't reinvent the wheel, but that it spins the genre around in circles. Fortunately, his humor gives him a significant sympathy capital.

Gotham Knights, orphan of the iconic figure of Batman, takes up the torch with panache. Our heroes honor the Dark Knight for an exhilarating adventure inspired by comic books. The city of Gotham, darker than ever, the technical and nervous fights, and the complementarity of the four vigilantes blow a breath of super-heroic freshness on the universe of Batman. Without being perfect with its camera flaws and sometimes redundant missions, the Warner Games title hits hard and proves that Batman is not the only hero worthy of the name in Gotham.

On this new medium, the latest adventures of Nathan Drake and ChloƩ Frazer gain even more realism, thanks to a resolution and a framerate now at its maximum. Then, that of the great talent of Asobo Studios. Offering richer gameplay without upsetting the formula, this sequel never forgets the essentials in relation to the genre it targets. Amicia's desperate fight is at least as magnificent as the graphics and soundtrack that drive the work. The infiltration mechanics can challenge, and we would have liked a final finishing coat, but none of the defects encountered tarnish our judgment: with Requiem, the Bordeaux studio delivers a great vintage. For the rest, there are redesigned combats, extensive exploration, a complex tactical aspect... The formula is simply excellent and makes the tactical more accessible and attractive than ever, without falling into the easy. Enough to give color to your autumn gaming sessions for a (a little too) short time.
