Like a lovingly polished katana, Shinobi Art of Vengeance cuts hard. Pleasant to pick up and fun to play thanks to its multiple moves, it's such a robust action game that the platforming aspect seems more timid in comparison. Sure, the Metroidvania-lite aspect offers large levels to explore, but it doesn't transcend the experience. In any case, we feel the rigor of intensive training behind many gameplay mechanics, like a shinobi perfecting his art, even if all the techniques observed have already been seen elsewhere.

Metal Gear Solid Delta succeeds in its bet to bring a legendary game up to date. 21 years after its release, MGS 3 remains a masterpiece thanks to its incredible storyline, memorable characters, and fast-paced adventure that never gets boring. For new players, its 4K visual overhaul with realistic rendering and comfort options make it an excellent entry point, while fans will be delighted to find all the content surrounding this episode in a single game. But for fear of distorting the original work, Konami has kept some flaws, such as an inconsistent artificial intelligence, but above all, gameplay marked by a certain heaviness that will discourage more than one. In any case, it's hard to deny the pleasure of seeing MGS return to the forefront, hoping that it leads to a new adventure next time.

Mafia: The Old Country is neither a grand coup nor a misstep. It's a return to its roots, understated and controlled, choosing linearity to better tell a story of men, blood, and loyalty. Enzo Favara's rise within the nascent mafia lays the foundations for a dense, intelligently written story, driven by elegant artistic direction. But this narrative ambition sometimes comes up against overly tame execution. The lack of boldness in the level design and sound prevents the game from truly taking off, from taking the epic leap it deserves. We sense the attention to detail, the rigor of the staging, but also a certain restraint where it should have been more daring. Mafia: The Old Country is a good vintage, a classic but polished mafia tale, which will delight fans of strong storytelling and old-school games. However, it lacks that spark that would have made it legendary.

Don't be afraid to take on this Ninja Gaiden imagined by The Game Kitchen. While the name of the license may make you tremble, Ragebound has more than one talisman up its sleeve to ensure that all players find pleasure in it, from the brave young Genin to the invincible Jônin. Very pleasant to play, both technical and fun, it is pure arcade fun like we rarely see. With a little more inventiveness in its level design and some better exploited ideas, it would have reached the coveted rank of Ninja Master. Ryu can in any case be proud of Kenji, his protégé defended the house very well in his absence.

Between Lies of P, Black Myth: Wukong and, now, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Asian development studios are shaking up the Souls-like genre, even though they jumped ship along the way. Yet another iteration of a genre in its own right that needs no introduction, Leenzee's creation finds the perfect balance between a Souls-like that returns to its roots and a game whose genre must reinvent itself or risk becoming boring. Ultimately, the experience promised by Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is honest, robust and sincerely entertaining, if not revolutionary. It's a shame because its very good ideas aren't missing much to make it a flagship of the genre.

Donkey Kong Bananza isn't the absolute masterpiece some were expecting, but it's an excellent action-adventure game with effective, accessible gameplay and plenty of fresh ideas. It carves out a new direction for Donkey Kong without revolutionizing the formula, but with enough bananas, transformations and discoveries to please a wide audience. A title with groove, that hits the mark (and hard), and that makes you want to come back again and again.

With this Nintendo Switch 2 version, Street Fighter 6 offers a portable version that lives up to other machines, but not on all levels. If the image is less fine than on PC/PS5/XSX, the high frame rate makes the fights as playable as on other machines, as much for playing alone, in local multiplayer or online. On the other hand, it is more on the World Tour where the shoe pinches because of clashes in 30 frames per second which clash with the fluidity of exploration. And if we can criticize the absence of a directional cross on the console, it does not prevent Street Fighter 6 on Nintendo Switch 2 from being a very good port which proves that the machine has the power it needs to accommodate titles available on other platforms, unlike its big sister, even the most competitive ones.

Like the first episode, Death Stranding 2 is a game that will divide opinion, but not for the same reasons. Kojima Productions delivers a more mainstream sequel here, both in terms of writing and gameplay, and purists may miss the roughness of the 2019 title. But what DS2 loses in "personality", it gains in pace and variety. Progression is more generous and stimulating than in the past, and the action-infiltration phases accompany very well a gameplay loop that is still as gripping, based on delivery and movement optimization. And then, what can we say about the technique and artistic direction, which are of very high quality! In short, Death Stranding 2 is excellent, but is it a great game? It probably lacks a little spark for that...

Hogwarts Legacy on Switch 2 is a pleasant surprise. Where one might have feared a cheap port, Avalanche Software delivers a careful, balanced, and faithful adaptation. Although technical limitations remain, the essentials are preserved: exploration, the universe, the magic, the immersion. Graphically less ambitious and locked to 30 fps, the game remains fluid, manageable, and above all, complete. Its main asset: native portability, without streaming, offering a magical experience anywhere, anytime. Fans of the saga will find it the ideal travel companion. Newcomers will appreciate a generous RPG, provided they are sensitive to the Harry Potter universe. For optimal visual quality, the next-gen versions are still preferred. But for a captivating adventure to take with you, this Switch 2 version is an excellent alternative.

ReMatch dreams of being a concentrated action game and an arcade alternative that's both easy to access and challenging. At the start, this is partly the case, and some of its promises are kept: you can feel its potential, the games with friends are wild, and it's hard to put it down. However, Sloclap's title isn't yet up to the task of lasting 90 minutes. Lacking content and fine-tuning, the coming months will need to be dedicated to training if ReMatch has the ambition to lift a major trophy in the world of sports gaming.

Twelve years after its release, Bravely Default returns to accompany the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 in a version that enhances the qualities of the original game. With this graphical overhaul, we enjoy more than ever the original style of this adventure, especially on a portable device, and the few comfort additions make the experience more enjoyable. While the title still shines with its combat and music, certain aspects remain in their original state, such as its overly classic story or its incessant notifications. This remaster nevertheless remains the best way to discover this seminal and ideal game while waiting for the announcement of the next project from the Asano team.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a new masterpiece that makes Breath of the Wild, one of the best games of all time, look like a mess. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, it is certainly no longer a "revolution," but it perfects the player experience in an epic dimension that is unparalleled. The feeling of freedom, the impression of living your own adventure without constraints, these are the great strengths of a game with an absolutely exceptional lifespan. Tears of the Kingdom is revealed over time, little by little, to the point that it will still have things to reveal to us for years to come. It is a jewel of absolute purity and definitely, adventure with a capital A.

Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2 succeeds where few expected. Accepting the technical compromises required for this format, the experience is robust, immersive, and close to the console versions in terms of content. It was a risky bet, but it's generally a success. This port demonstrates that Nintendo's new console is capable of hosting recent AAA titles without relying on the cloud, which opens up interesting prospects for the future of the catalog.

Priced at just 15 euros and with the promise of free content to come, Fast Fusion is a very good futuristic racing game that will surely delight fans of the genre. It doesn't burden itself with anything superfluous and races towards the finish line at hypersonic speed to the sound of frenzied electro music. With more circuits, in-depth ship customization, and a real campaign mode, it would have reached new horizons. As it stands, Shin'en's game is a 100% arcade experience full of thrills that you would be wrong to miss out on.

With Mario Kart World, Nintendo delivers a solid launch game for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new gameplay mechanics, survival mode, and art direction are all successes. The open world, meanwhile, adds a fresh feel without being entirely convincing over time. The title doesn't revolutionize the series as we might have thought, but it intelligently enriches the formula, while offering plenty of room for improvement and immediate gameplay fun. While we were entitled to expect more, Mario Kart World remains an excellent game that paves a whole new path for Nintendo's iconic series.

As is often the case with the F1 license stamped by EA and Codemasters, the installments follow one another but are not really similar in content. Because this year, Breaking Point is back and the next F1 film are highlighted to revive the story-driven interest of the saga. Good one-off contributions, even if for the long term, we will rather remember the Career mode which goes a little further than previous years. Even if it does not really renew its gameplay and its graphics, F1 25 remains solid for an official simulation and accessible for neophytes.

Even though we find the same graphic style and some familiar areas, we feel a slight lack of artistic risk-taking, a somewhat recycled bestiary and menus that haven't changed one iota. On the gameplay side, class balancing still needs adjustments and world events like raids, rare terrains or cataclysms remain too rare to permanently break the routine. The communication system boils down to a ping that isn't always precise, and attempting the adventure solo borders on a feat, given the high difficulty and the need for a cohesive team. However, the game manages to create a strong addiction: even when a run turns into a disaster, we want to try our luck again to take advantage of our character's progression curve and the pride of defeating a boss. Nightreign won't appeal to all players, its severity and small flaws may frustrate more than a few, but it brings a breath of fresh air to the studio. It's a good start, we'll say.

Bleach Rebirth of Souls is reminiscent of the cel-shaded fighting games that were all the rage in the early 2000s. While the sometimes redundant and somewhat complex approach to combat may be surprising at first, the game quickly reveals the depth of its content with a roster of 32 characters and a Campaign mode that retraces a large part of the manga. The technical aspect, on the other hand, is behind, and we should therefore not expect a title that meets current visual codes. Thirty years after Toshinden, Tamsoft is giving the Bleach license a boost in video games, and that can only please fans.

The XXL menu concocted by id Software is made for action lovers who always want more ketchup. Between two slices of laughter aboard a giant robot or on the back of a ferocious dragon, The Dark Ages takes advantage of its gigantic zones to let the warrior decide which smoky BBQ sauce he'll be eaten with. The more open worlds allow for extraordinary confrontations never before seen in a Doom, but like the mecha or dragon phases, everything is designed to provoke immediate thrills at the risk of lacking a bit of depth. In any case, Bethesda's production doesn't repeat the same formulas, however magical they may be: it relies on ancestral know-how to better venture into demonic astral planes.

Certainly, the single-player open-world RPG has evolved a lot in 20 years. Even if The Elder Scrolls IV remains an incredibly rich title, various elements remind us that we are indeed facing a software released in 2006. But what we must not forget is that Oblivion was ahead of its time and that it still has serious arguments in 2025. Virtuos' love letter to Bethesda's work is in any case very strong: it's beautiful, it's intelligently renovated and it remains faithful to the soul of a creation that marked its time. Nostalgics, you have every reason in the world to answer the call of the Blades. Few video games have moved me so much. There is a before and after Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and some of its scenes will never leave me. No, Sandfall Interactive's title is not a daub, it is a fresco as sublime as a Renoir painting.

A comeback? Yes, we can say so. Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves is beautiful, fast-paced, and has a netcode that works perfectly for facing off against your friends or complete strangers online. There are certainly a few drawbacks, notably the choice of certain characters, Ronaldo in particular, and a story mode that is unfortunately rather anecdotal, but we readily forgive the 26-year wait given the quality of this production, which marks a spectacular return for this essential saga of the fighting game genre.

Two Point Museum is a success, it follows in the footsteps of the studio's two previous games. If only it weren't frustrating because of its expeditions! It's a great mechanic that would have been perfect if it hadn't required so much "farming". But you just have to zoom out and observe our beautiful museum, well decorated, filled with numerous and diverse works, with employees working where they should be and happy customers... And we congratulate ourselves on having worked hard, and having enjoyed it.

South of Midnight proves to be a marvelous auditory spectacle driven by exceptional artistic direction. The captivating world of the Gothic South, enhanced by stop-motion aesthetics and a masterful soundtrack, immerses us in a fantastic and touching story. But the offering is hampered by a cruelly generic gameplay loop that undermines a memorable adventure for its artistic purpose, and one that deserves to be discovered despite its few pitfalls.

Rebellion has absorbed its influences well to design a masterful post-apocalyptic adventure in broad strokes. While this survival FPS doesn't revolutionize the genre, it does things seriously. Its main strength lies in its organic approach to missions and its desire to reward exploration. Unfortunately, the survival and combat aspects, which suffer from flawed AI, lag behind the genre's leading lights. Atomfall isn't perfect, far from it, but it's definitely worth a look... especially if you're a fan of this type of offering.

For a hardcore action RPG, The First Berserker Khazan doesn't lie about the goods. But, beyond a very high - and almost caricatured - difficulty, the Neople studio demonstrates very impressive know-how (especially for its first project of the genre), and this throughout the 60-70 hours that the adventure lasts. Frankly, despite a structure already seen and a slight lack on the technical and artistic direction side, it's difficult to expect more from a demanding action role-playing game. The fights are top-notch, the bosses too, there are even little "twists" that constantly punctuate the progression. What do you say again? Oh yes... first attempt, masterstroke!

The beginning of a dynasty? The Samoan Bloodline has ruled the WWE for over half a century: Dwayne Johnson, Roman Reigns' Fatu and Anoa'i families can attest. With The Island and an interesting open world, WWE 2K25 aims to revive its family tree. It's a milestone, but with significant room for improvement for this ambitious mode. Despite its richness, the latter lacks a map, shaky matchmaking, and a near-essential need for VC (virtual currency) to be competitive online. It's a first step toward the heights already reached in terms of lifespan: the game modes and customization options are still gargantuan enough to impress newcomers. A good omen for the future of the violent saga.

In this first version released in Early Access, inZOI reveals itself to be an ambitious project, rich in innovative ideas and with undeniable potential. The graphics are stunning, and the character creator and the build mode are already very enjoyable to play. However, the game also highlights significant shortcomings, both technically and conceptually. The artificial intelligence lacks substance, and the open world, despite its size, is desperately empty and not very interactive. Social relationships, the pillar of life simulations, suffer from enormous inconsistencies and bugs that mar the experience. We can only believe in the promise of continuous improvements, supported by a detailed roadmap, which suggests a brighter future. In its current state, inZOI is a (very) rough diamond, even an unbaked cake that we can't wait to taste, but much later. [Early Access Score = 65]

With Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft once again proves that its studios have a real talent for creating universes and worlds in their own right. For those who love open-worlds and feudal Japan, there's no doubt that this installment will offer the expected change of scenery. In terms of gameplay, the complementarity and play styles of Naoe and Yasuke are truly refreshing, and we feel that efforts have been made, at various levels, to try to evolve the formula. Despite everything, if a few elements change, the very heart of the saga is still as present in the way we approach the game's content, sources of flaws that we have known for a long time: the redundancy of activities, the AI that leads to quickly mechanical combat, and a somewhat flat story, even if it does have its epic moments. Ultimately, Assassin's Creed Shadows is an effective, mainstream, and entertaining installment, but the series' lack of polish and recurring issues mean that this installment hits a glass ceiling that prevents it from reaching the highest peaks.

Enriched with relevant content on Switch, the remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles X respects the direction desired by the series creator since its beginnings. It aims for the point of balance between Japanese and Western role-playing games by offering a dizzying world in its disproportionate excess and gigantism, like a permanent ode to discovery. This exhilarating immensity does much more than serve the game's narrative. It matches the perfect fluidity that connects the action and exploration phases to offer a tailor-made experience enhanced by an epilogue essential if we want to know the end point of the story.

Thanks to its vast expansive areas, we have even more the feeling of evolving in credible and living ecosystems to enjoy its original bestiary. Besides that, Monster Hunter Wilds improves the well-oiled gameplay of the series by adding new movements for each of the 14 weapons and especially the focus mode which really changes the way of approaching hunting. And if we can salute the care given to the rather nice story, we can still regret that this new episode does not better accompany new players to discover the codes of the saga, once again. Despite this, one thing is certain, it has never been as pleasant to get into Monster Hunter as it is today.

Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii puts its heart into it and has enough new features to justify an ultimately rather short epic. Civilization VII is a real success. When you are the old behemoth of a genre that has welcomed new faces in recent years, it is often difficult to adapt, but the developers at Firaxis have perfectly fulfilled their mission by drawing inspiration from the best elements of the competition while keeping what makes the series strong. The separation into distinct ages with different directions and the many ways to adapt our strategy allow for engaging games right to the end, where weariness often took over at the end of the game in previous games. With a top-notch soundtrack and more refined and detailed visuals, Civ 7 will attract all audiences even if the user interface probably deserves some fixes. Although we would have liked a less invasive DLC policy from the start, there is no doubt that you will spend long nights playing “just one last round” and that you will not regret it. Warhorse Studios delivers in 2025 an RPG that is solid on its foundations and striking in its visual and playful realism. With its authentic combat and “organic” progression, the game published by Deep Silver is unrivaled in fully immersing us in a breathtaking feudal Bohemia. Unfortunately, this sequel is not without its flaws, starting with its restrictive save system, several technical problems and especially its sometimes improvable playful narration. The fact remains that this Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a singularity in the current landscape that should be applauded and encouraged.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is the very definition of a remaster that does the job. Its high definition and availability on Nintendo Switch from January 16th allow the uninitiated to discover the Donkey Kong Country formula. Returns remains a very good game of the genre, demanding and accessible. However, it suffers from some flaws due to the fatal comparison with similar games released over the last fifteen years. Thanks to rich and nervous gameplay, the fights have never been so satisfying against one or several enemies and benefit from a great variety using the eight types of weapons. The battles are also more spectacular and epic than ever against ever more numerous and lively armies. However, this does not prevent the experience from suffering from readability problems in the heart of the action. Outside of the fights, the title shines with its friendly RPG aspect and its linear way of presenting the history of the Three Kingdoms to make it more accessible. And even if we are entitled to replayability and an interesting post-game, the absence of a free mode remains a lack, especially for veterans. Despite this pitfall, Dynasty Warriors Origins has given us a great view and augurs a bright future for the franchise which has been able to bounce back.

Path of Exile 2, more accessible and visually appealing than its predecessor, remains a complex old-school game that will appeal to fans of muscular combat. This difficulty, which is nevertheless the heart of the game, can however discourage newcomers or people who are not used to taking their heads. It remains ideal for those looking for a long-term experience, it might not suit casual players or fans of simplified mechanics like Diablo 4. Is the €27.75 supporter pack worth it despite the future free game? Yes, because it already offers much more than some recent AA or AAA. In early access, Path of Exile 2 still promises a lot (narration, new classes, end-game content, bug fixes). For an optimal and free experience, you can also wait for the final version. This title, demanding and focused on improvement, is a worthy successor to the first opus, cut out for players ready to take on many challenges. [Early Access Score = 85]

Despite quite a few flaws - whether it's the behavior of the NPCs or the very structure of some levels -, the title from Machine Games offers us a very beautiful adventure that perfectly reproduces the essence of Spielberg and Lucas' character. The Ancient Circle is at once funny, intense, sometimes rather touching, and will certainly satisfy fans of the license. What's more, with its first-person camera, it's a fairly unique vision of the action-adventure game with a treasure hunter twist. Unlike Uncharted, Indy is not a superhero and the overbidding of spectacular staging here gives way to a more "traditional" approach to archaeology. Enough to get lost for 20-30 hours in superbly produced settings whose atmosphere commands respect.

Going straight to the point, at the risk of seeming sanitized in its form, the title signed Imagineer succeeds in making us sweat energetically on a very rhythmic soundtrack. However, the weight of its haphazard movement recognition is starting to be too heavy to bear. In addition, the timid new features of this third part, certainly welcome, do not require us to go back to the checkout. To be direct: the new iteration of the software published by Nintendo remains catchy, but it looks like a big update sold at a high price.

Batman: Arkham Shadow is quite simply the best virtual reality video game since Half-Life: Alyx, and that's saying something. Camouflaj's creation is not a "simple" VR experience. On the contrary, it is a full-fledged adventure that fits perfectly into the Arkhamverse and guarantees total immersion. The studios have managed to transpose the gameplay that made the series successful, whether it be combat, investigations and infiltration, while adding their own personal touch. In Arkham Shadow, you don't play Batman... You are Batman and that makes all the difference. Aside from a few bugs and a slight feeling of repetitiveness after several hours, Camouflaj is flawless.

Metal Slug Tactics is certainly a love letter, albeit clumsy, to fans of the license. Dotemu and Leikir Studio subtly adapt the concept of run'n'gun into a turn-based tactical video game but stumble several times. The variety of gameplay is not enough to motivate the player to restart the game again and again. The fault lies in a similar construction of each run, combined with a lack of challenge that does not force a possible adaptation and change of style. All of this is, on PlayStation 5, punctuated by multiple and significant loading times that are prohibitive for games of the genre. If the first veterans of the license can find it with a certain pleasure, Metal Slug Tactics should not seduce new recruits despite a brilliant idea.

By adding varied missions, a structured career, and spectacular graphical improvements, they are opening the skies to an even wider audience while respecting the legacy of the franchise. Of course, adjustments are necessary, particularly for the server infrastructure and they could correct certain sometimes difficult aspects, but the overall experience remains an invitation to explore our planet in a new light. An ambitious takeoff, certainly a little turbulent, but which promises beautiful horizons.

While the many technical shortcomings currently affecting Towers of Aghasba make the ride difficult to enjoy, there is no doubt that the game is full of potential in terms of exploration that will flourish further once the Dreamlit studio patches its game properly. Glider jumps, climbing, customizing a world with pretty biomes inspired by Ghibli universes are still too marred for the time being by a series of bugs, interminable loading times (sometimes more than five minutes) and painful slowdowns. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a unique experience in the modern video game landscape that deserves to be commended. GSC Game World's FPS offers total immersion in a fascinating post-apocalyptic universe, a survivalist vision that is (too) rare in video games and an unparalleled atmosphere. Unfortunately, it also suffers from several problems that prevent it from achieving excellence, starting with its technical delay, its improvable AI and its story that struggles to assert itself. Stalker 2 will appeal above all to fans of the genre who will be able to ignore all its mistakes.
