Dim the lights, turn up the volume and put out the candles. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II succeeds in its crazy bet of being the “next-gen” visual slap in the face so much hoped for, even if the traces left by its hand bear the marks of the 100% narrative game of 2017 with simplistic gameplay and online exploration RIGHT. More condensed, more brutal too, the creation of Ninja Theory ultimately changes little from the original formula but strengthens all its cogs to the point of making it a beautiful war machine. If you are a Game Pass subscriber, give it a try, you should have a great time.- Jeuxvideo.com

Three years after the release of the Director's Cut version on PS5, Ghost of Tsushima finally arrives on PC in the most beautiful way. Like the ports of Horizon: Forbidden West and Spider-Man, the Nixxes studio once again manages to brilliantly port one of PlayStation's exclusives. With all the graphics options available to players, it's difficult to find better conditions to enjoy the title of Suckerpunch than this PC version, provided you have the following configuration of course. An excellent way to rediscover Ghost of Tsushima while waiting for the announcement of a possible second episode.- Jeuxvideo.com

Released raw then polished by waves of updates rich in new features, Sea of Thieves is one of the most fun multiplayer games of recent years. Intelligently relying on feedback from its community to never know the bottom of the wave, it now has the modes, features, and quests so that everyone can find something for themselves. If Rare's software encourages deceit, the British studio has not made fun of us over the last six years! Packed with things to do, with a superb atmosphere, SoT is also demanding, even slightly unfair when the precarious alliances evaporate like grog on the sand. But that’s also why we love it.- Jeuxvideo.com

Minimal in its gameplay but optimal in the power of its story, Indika illuminates us thanks to the insolence of several of its sequences. Bold in its tone, atypical in its form, the creation of Odd Meter is like a cursed relic: it should not be put into everyone's hands. And that’s his greatest quality! But as everyone knows, the devil hides in the details: its good ideas that are ultimately little exploited, its madness which runs out of steam during the second part and its overly abrupt ending prevent its heroine from being canonized. Despite its flaws, Indika is a third-person adventure game that will captivate you if you agree to sign a pact... with the demon.- Jeuxvideo.com

We would have liked all the charm of the African legends of Tales of Kenzera ZAU to also be found in a level design that was both inspired and inventive! Outstripped by a plethora of competitors, the first software from Surgent Studios lacks the depth and precision to establish itself in the domain of the Gods. However, it does not lack assets: with its low price (20 euros), its dynamism and its enchanting universe, this Metroidvania, less labyrinthine than the others, has interesting arguments to help you spend 8 entertaining hours.- Jeuxvideo.com

It's difficult to fully enjoy yourself in the waters of Endless Ocean Luminous which, even in multiplayer, make us feel very alone. The latest underwater exploration game struggles to appeal on a fun level and provides the minimum on an informative level, which is nevertheless a major attraction of the component. Let's remember, however, that the ride is intuitive and rather comfortable, especially as it is lulled by very pretty music.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Sand Land, the late Akira Toriyama lays the last stone of a prestigious building. Enriched with new storylines, this video game adaptation is the ideal extension of the manga and anime. On a playful level, the adventure is far from perfect, but the scenario and the events are faithful to the original work and the progression offers several notable moments. With its ultra-endearing characters and its universe, this production has enough assets to satisfy fans of (semi) open world games. If the idea of playing an action-RPG in a Mad Max-style universe interests you, this title may satisfy you.- Jeuxvideo.com

If the current version of Manor Lords is still missing many improvements and a whole axis of interaction with the development policy systems, the game already has the capacity to tirelessly occupy you for long hours, and has all the potential for later playing one of the most complete city-builders of his generation. An easily achievable bet thanks to already brilliant experience in its construction, its credibility and its more than flattering aesthetic. [Early Access Score = 80]- Jeuxvideo.com

During our preview, we decreed that Stellar Blade could become the new star of action gaming. Today, after more than thirty hours of play, we are able to confirm it as the clever mix of genres it offers us keeps us in suspense from start to finish, despite the multiple hiccups highlighted in our test . If we had had expectations about it for months and months, Stellar Blade easily exceeds them. The gameplay continues to get more spicy, the styles of play increase tenfold the way of approaching combat, the universe and the graphics carry us away and the joint work of Shift Up and Monaca on the music really makes it an adventure that has nothing to be ashamed of in the face of NieR: Automata or the other big names.- Jeuxvideo.com

It is now impossible to doubt it. With Top Spin 2k25, Hangar 13 and 2K mark the return of the reference in tennis simulation. We would still have appreciated a larger cast of players; a more entertaining career mode or the presence of a commentator. But let's stop dwelling on its setbacks. Top Spin 2k25 hits the nail on the head with mastered gameplay, transposing into the video game all the realism that makes the sport of the little yellow ball so special. It's the return of video game tennis, the real thing, and that's the most important thing.- Jeuxvideo.com

Even more than for Echoes of the Fallen, The Rising Tide is aimed at those who enjoyed Final Fantasy XVI and who want more. In the context of a magnificent region, this DLC puts the challenge at the heart of its experience through battles that are as spectacular as they are formidable. The gameplay also evolves with the introduction of two new powers which finally bring more variety to basic moves. However, in addition to the flaws of the original game still present, this expansion only offers a fleeting scenario and above all a really short main quest which puts its price into perspective. It is therefore on a rather positive note that Final Fantasy XVI bids us farewell, after having been so divisive... like all episodes of Final Fantasy ultimately.- Jeuxvideo.com

Memorable for his beauty and dazzling personality, Harold Halibut can boast of easily recalling the strangeness of Wes Anderson, a comparison that will most likely arise in a myriad of other reviews. A gallery of truly successful characters serves an impeccably constructed story, nevertheless undermined by a very subdued intensity and a slow pace. Harold Halibut may annoy some people, but they will still have a hard time denying all the dedication devoted with passion and talent to the handmade sets of the Fedora ship.- Jeuxvideo.com

If certain points still deserve a little work, we are light years away from what we were offered only 4 years ago with WWE 2K20. An unsatisfactory episode for many players of the license. The roster is huge, the immersion and visual rendering are clean, despite the few flaws that we mentioned. On the gameplay side, the controls are easy to master and the progression curve is very pleasant. The tribute to 40 years of Wrestlemania in the Showcase mode is totally successful and even if that is not what interests you, you will inevitably find what you are looking for in one of the many game modes. It therefore seems to us that if we don't yet have the perfect game for wrestling and WWE fans, we're still starting to seriously get closer.- Jeuxvideo.com

In the end, Rise of the Ronin is probably not the Japanese action-adventure game that everyone is waiting for, but it is a solid experience and has more than one trick up its sleeve. The fights are successful (and rely on some pretty crazy richness), the exploration is not very organic but remains enjoyable, and Team Ninja exploits the “Bakumatsu” period well, particularly in its writing… Despite everything, we remain hungry, in particular because of Nioh-like levels which have difficulty making us experience the issues at work! The studio focuses above all on its achievements, even getting tripped up in its quest for balance between requirements and accessibility. Rise of the Ronin remains, however, a good experience.- Jeuxvideo.com

The only new exclusive for the Nintendo Switch at the start of the year, Princess Peach: Showtime takes on the pressure weighing on its shoulders with style and creativity. The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom multiplies roles of all kinds. Pastry chef, swordsman, skater but also superhero, she knows how to do it all and does it brilliantly despite the diversity of these activities. The varied gameplay above all serves a creative and ingenious production and staging of Good-Feel, the main qualities of the title. A very accessible adventure which clearly makes you want to see Peach more often in leading roles, whether on Nintendo Switch or not.- Jeuxvideo.com

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a title with a unique and interesting proposition, but which is not intended for everyone. By putting player autonomy at the heart of the experience, Capcom's game offers a feeling of freedom and a pleasure of exploration enhanced by brilliant gameplay and a pawn system that is still fascinating. But this immersion at all costs gives rise to uncomfortable, but voluntary, design choices in order to make this adventure credible. However, the experience still suffers from certain real flaws, such as its overly classic and not always clear quests, its sometimes messy combat and especially its numerous slowdowns on console. In short, Dragon's Dogma will delight those who play the game with its unique and uncompromising proposition, surely leaving aside those too accustomed to the comfort of modern games.- Jeuxvideo.com

An old-fashioned Lovecraftian action-adventure game rather than frenetic Survival Horror, Alone in the Dark allows itself an interesting re-imagining of the founding episodes. Nostalgia unfortunately collides with obsolescence: even the hardcore fan of the license will have difficulty getting past systems that are too archaic. We would have appreciated that, freed from the chains of AAA with huge budgets and the need to necessarily do better than its competitors, the Pieces Interactive title tried more things, did things differently, allowed itself a certain radicality. It is not so. An adventure with a capital “AA”, imperfect in its substance as in its form, but sincere in everything it undertakes.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Unicorn Overlord, Vanillaware once again displays its mastery by tackling a new genre. The tactical aspect of the battles displays a more than impressive density and know-how which will speak to fans of the turn-based tactical role-playing game genre. The essential is not everything. It is also through the exploration side that the title is pleasant to play and that the gameplay loop is addictive! On the other hand, the writing and the plot are not the strong points of the title since they never really manage to take off. If Unicorn Overlord has very different characteristics from its JRPG companions released before it in 2024 (FF7: Rebirth, Granblue Fantasy Relink or Persona 3 Reload), it nevertheless displays the same quality of finish by being an excellent game.- Jeuxvideo.com

Contra: Operation Galuga finally allows the series to reconnect with its origins to once again become a staple of “run & gun”. Even if its artistic direction spoils part of the experience, we definitely find the original spirit of the franchise. Weapon management has been completely redesigned and the game is now teeming with multiple bonuses and improvements to unlock. The frenzy of Arcade mode playable with 4 players in coop compensates for the lack of readability specific to certain levels as well as the lifespan 100% focused on scoring. And if the feeling of déjà vu is sometimes tenacious, it is it which makes the link with the mythical origins of the saga.- Jeuxvideo.com

In spring 2020, there was hope: that of seeing a crazy dream come true thanks to Final Fantasy VII Remake. This same hope, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth transforms it into a consecration. A gameplay of formidable efficiency here sublimated, a rhythm better managed despite some clumsiness, a staging which awakens in us a whole range of emotions and, above all, an adventure which, even if it overflows with love for the version original, shines for what it is and carries us away as much as in 1997, if not even more. With Rebirth, Final Fantasy has perhaps found the ideal formula to tell us a story, while leaving us free to experience it at our own pace. As in any rebirth, there is a before and an after, and this emerging future already promises to be exhilarating as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth already has all the qualities to be considered the ultimate game in the saga.- Jeuxvideo.com

After more than 30 hours of play, Helldivers II remains devilishly addictive and extremely enjoyable. Although it still requires playing with several people (with friends or strangers) to fully appreciate its value, the game from Arrowhead Game Studios simply stands out as the best cooperative experience of the moment. If you've always dreamed of playing a mix between Starship Troopers and Terminator and want to be able to fight against hordes of enemies with great blasts from large calibers and orbital cannons, there's a good chance that you'll spend a excellent moment on Helldivers II. And while it may not seem like it at first glance, the game can even require a lot of strategy and restraint on the highest difficulty modes. If I would have liked slightly more solid servers and some additional finishes, I am already looking forward to knowing what the future of Helldivers II will hold. Regardless, I am immediately returning to fight for democracy and freedom. Long live Super-Earth!- Jeuxvideo.com

If not the ultimate pirate game, Skull and Bones is a good naval battle game that has arguments to make you want to get involved. So no, here, no third-person action phases: the adventure takes place almost exclusively on the waves, and once the element of surprise has passed, the qualities of Ubisoft's service game are revealed. The seven seas of the Indian Ocean are the subject of a solid atmosphere and technique, and the battles on the open sea are a real success. So, you may be struggling to get to the endgame, due to a fairly redundant progression, but believe us, the price is worth it. In short, a good surprise, far from the shipwreck that some saw on the horizon.- Jeuxvideo.com

Although that's how it made its notoriety during the May 2023 State of Play, Ultros is worth more than a glance. With their new game, Hadoque and Kepler Interactive innovate in the metroidvania genre with more than atypical mechanics around gardening. 20 years. It is, often, the age symbolizing youth at its full potential. This is also the period between the release of Mario vs Donkey Kong on Game Boy Advance and its remake. It arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch on February 16 and is the subject of an excellent makeover from "Big N". The reflection side still works just as well; features allow you to modernize the software; new content to extend its lifespan; without forgetting the more than careful graphics update which will make you forget the pixelated features of the original version. Mario vs Donkey Kong has gotten a big facelift thanks to a remake that we would like to see more often. A great game to look forward to the next plumber games. Remake or not.- Jeuxvideo.com

Generous in its narration as in its gameplay, Banishers firstly offers a level of writing which without any harm maintains the good reputation of Don'tnod in the matter, offering multiple narrative arcs with striking choices which consolidate all the coherence of the 'universe. At first a little summary, the clashes benefit from an exhilarating evolution, enabled by a concise skill tree and a natural progression of the characters, very complementary on the ground. We also retain certain lengths, marked by dispensable intrigues, a slow increase in the power of the gameplay and a somewhat frustrating research part.- Jeuxvideo.com

Rocksteady Studios promised to kill off DC's greatest heroes and that's what they did...in every sense of the word. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an effective looter shooter, if not surprising, but above all generic which struggles to renew the gaming experience throughout the adventure. Nevertheless, this open-world Action-RPG defends itself in terms of staging, visuals and especially writing with a tone that is both superheroic and humorous. The central “role playing” dimension of this type of video game proposition is not left out and is seduced by a constant rise in power of Task Force of America. Unfortunately, British studios never manage to rise to the level of the masters of the genre (Borderlands 3, Destiny 2 and even Outriders). Rocksteady's suicide mission is neither a failure nor a real success.- Jeuxvideo.com

On the one hand, it is a classic and effective solo adventure but not without its flaws (like the very behind-the-scenes side of exploration), and, on the other, an experience in multiplayer mode which brings together a bit of the best of worlds of JRPG, at the crossroads of a Tales of and a Monster Hunter, and offers a crazy diversity of approaches thanks to the unique gameplay of its heroes.- Jeuxvideo.com

Persona 3 Reload is a model in terms of a role-playing game remake. The title takes everything that makes the charm of the original game to modernize the experience and correct its flaws by drawing inspiration from Persona 5. Thanks to comfort options, the formula combining daily management and dungeon exploration becomes one of even more addictive. As a result, we are even more captivated by its cast of endearing characters and especially its perfectly oiled combat system. Add to this a fabulous graphic and musical overhaul and the adventure is all the more pleasant to navigate. In a nutshell, Persona 3 Reload is a great way to (re)discover Persona 3 and the perfect game to wait for Persona 6.- Jeuxvideo.com

Tekken 8 is full of excitement and we loved it! Technically, in both substance and form, the Bandai Namco fighting game is a gem of the genre. If it sometimes lacks a little originality in terms of content, but there is still a lot of it, it all makes it one of the best 3D fighting games of recent years. Its new features in terms of gameplay are enough to stand out from previous opuses and hold its own against its competitors, all with vast content that is still substantial enough to play for dozens of hours. And as long as you are addicted to online confrontations, Tekken 8 really has something to satisfy and challenge you for a very, very long time! The whole is also served by an absolutely magnificent production which immediately immerses you in extremely aggressive and intense battles.- Jeuxvideo.com

Momodora: Moonlit Farewell surprised me. With an artistic direction very different from the genre's references, I expected a less controlled experience. Mea culpa since Momodora certainly offers a title far from the norm but without a false note. It offers well-paced exploration, gameplay that is far from revolutionary but effective and all wrapped in an attractive artistic direction. Momodora: Moonlit Farewell shows that you don't have to have excessive ambitions to be a good game.- Jeuxvideo.com

In short, we would like all remasters to be like The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Here, Naughty Dog intelligently expands the content of the PS4 masterpiece, with - already - behind the scenes everything (Lost Levels, audio comments) and above all, a roguelite mode which really wowed us. It's simply the perfect excuse to dive back into the universe and visceral action of Part 2, with a lifespan now extended from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Even the small graphics boost, in 4K Native, has its effect - despite a slightly disappointing 30 FPS (even with VRR). In the end, a remaster that doesn't make fun of us at all.- Jeuxvideo.com

Fluid, well-paced, easy to handle and with multiple settings to adapt to all ways of playing, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sets the bar high. Relying on the best references of the genre at the risk of not letting its personal touch twirl, the app ticks all the boxes of a very good action adventure platformer. Ubisoft has created a Metroidvania that meets the specifications, clean, without major burrs, but also without a little something that makes it as unique as a legendary gem. In essence, the Zone Zero Buried Treasure DLC is perfect for fans. As promised, it offers a new Pokédex to fill out: it will therefore be perfect for seasoned collectors, especially since the new activities offered in the Indigo Mask give a particular but very pleasant flavor to the gameplay. Conversely, it does not offer anything revolutionary: the story is not particularly worth the detour; the technique is identical to the previous ones and the fights are not particularly striking except for the small seed of challenge that they offer to unprepared players. In a few words, The Indigo Disc is an excellent DLC for fans whose ideas are too little exploited to make it essential for the uninitiated.- Jeuxvideo.com

Ultimately, to our greatest regret, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora blows hot and cold. Focused on its mission to immerse us in a fascinating universe, something it accomplishes brilliantly, Ubisoft's game gives the feeling of remaining too dependent on its flagship formula in terms of first-person shooter games. The know-how is undeniable and it shows, but the Ubisoft Massive title accumulates too many unnecessary activities, to the point of losing sight of its main objective and harming itself. If it indeed pushes the boundaries of James Cameron's adaptation by taking us to unknown lands, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, despite its undeniable qualities of immersion, comes up against the barriers that separate entertaining video game experiences from resounding releases and other video game references.- Jeuxvideo.com

What an adventure! Hogwarts Legacy is definitely the game that all Harry Potter fans have been waiting for. But the Nintendo Switch version struggles to offer us an experience as magical as at the start of the year. Be careful, it is not catastrophic and sometimes even quite impressive. But the stunning moments are ultimately quite rare. The visuals are not only less beautiful but above all not consistent, while the loading times considerably weigh down the gaming experience. Other than that, the gameplay and the experience remain generally unchanged. Suffice to say that if you have already played Hogwarts Legacy on another platform, it is not worth looking into the Nintendo Switch version. As for players who only have this support to immerse themselves in the universe of the wizarding world, they will still be able to benefit from a fairly honest version which offers a fairly good gaming experience overall. No disaster, no real good surprise on the agenda.- Jeuxvideo.com

Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is ultimate in name only. While the title bills itself as the most comprehensive release in the series, that is only true for its impressive cast of over 130 fighters. On the other hand, as for its story mode... between a minimally regressive setting, absent major boss fights and above all an original story that is not very interesting, there is reason to be frankly disappointed. Ultimately, only fans of the franchise determined to play online will find what they are looking for by taking advantage of the generous roster and the gameplay that is still as effective despite the years. For others, we advise you to turn to the first four episodes, which are available on all platforms and often at a low price, to better enjoy the story of Naruto.- Jeuxvideo.com

The Last Faith had everything to surprise and it succeeded in its bet. It perpetuates this trend of development studios to mix with Metroidvania the requirements and general atmosphere of FromSoftware games. He manages to offer different ways of playing which are all attractive. However, the game drags itself down because of gameplay that is so punishing... that it is not fun and even frustrating at times. In short, The Last Faith arrives with an interesting proposition that, we can say, no one expected and which has the merit of paving the way for future titles in the genre. Even if the last parts of the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series managed to push the madness even further, these games would never have seen the light of day if Super Mario RPG had not pioneered the concept in 1996. This remake allows us to understand the keys to this improbable fusion between the world of the plumber and the codes of Japanese role-playing games. Reworked to make it more modern and accessible to all audiences, it constitutes an excellent gateway to a genre that still repels some players.- Jeuxvideo.com

On paper, with its single player, its multiplayer and its Zombie, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 presents itself as a fairly complete package, and that is somewhat what it is. Alongside a dispensable campaign and a few adjustments to review (notably on the killing time), we had fun with the two online sides of this episode. Although focusing above all on a nostalgic formula, with its cards and features of yesteryear, it is difficult not to fall in love, once again, with these still successful shooting sensations. The Zombie for its part, although copied and pasted on Warzone and DMZ, turns out to be pleasant and rather gripping... In the end, in this title which looks like a “big expansion”, there are quite a few qualities! But these will only appear if Call of Duty is not your bedside title. For fans who own Modern Warfare 2, this is frankly questionable.- Jeuxvideo.com

RoboCop: Rogue City is a respectful and effective adaptation of the illustrious science fiction saga of the same name… nothing more and nothing less. The shooting game developed by Teyon and published by Nacon scrupulously applies the “old-school FPS” formula, not without trying to get off the beaten track with varying degrees of success. Ultimately, RoboCop: Rogue City will thrill fans of the franchise as well as all gamers looking for action from the 80s. Mission accomplished (or almost).- Jeuxvideo.com

A simple update of FM23 for Sports Interactive? Yes and no. We will impatiently await the expected revolution in Football Manager 2025 with a new graphics engine, a new milestone announced by the London studio, but Football Manager 2024 still offers some new features to titillate regulars. If the women's championships are still not present this year, managing a men's national team is much more interesting. We are pleased to find the database and unlimited parameters, boosted by European Cup licenses and even the graphics engine dated during matches offers more convincing animations. Finally, the launch of a game is readjusted with the choice between a scenario that fits with the realities of the current season or your own scenario, or even the possibility of resuming your FM23 save. Welcome adjustments to spend hundreds of extra hours this season to unearth the most obscure talents and finally win the Champions League with a club previously in English D3.- Jeuxvideo.com

Less fun than Maison du Style, less educational than Young Stylist, Fashion Dreamer has everything to envy of its predecessors due to far too poor content and ultra-limited fun. If tirelessly offering outfits to NPCs and players without benefiting from any story input or real game objectives is enough for you, the experience may be right for you. For our part, we mainly remember a dressing game without much effort and above all extremely repetitive. In short, clearly one of the worst Nintendo Switch exclusives of the year.- Jeuxvideo.com

If The Invincible stands out for its superb artistic direction and its palpable suspense, it is content to be quite good on other levels. But the immersion is such that it could almost create an illusion. The problem is that it doesn't always stand the test of bugs, details and other gameplay limitations. A more than successful first for Blizzard with Warcraft Rumble on mobile lands. This first game in the Warcraft universe dedicated to smartphones transcribes with panache the universe launched by Orc & Humans 30 years ago. Enough to attract initiates without losing “simple” fans of mobile games since Rumble does not take itself seriously. However, its gameplay is mastered and is aimed with agility at fans of action, strategy and customization games. The game plans are numerous and we take great pleasure in tinkering, that's really the word, with each war troop linked to them. The massive single-player campaign really allows you to vary the playing styles in the same way as the dungeons, the most interesting mode of the title although repetitive. Warcraft Rumble is very good for anyone who wants to get into video games without spending hours on it. That’s good, that’s often what we ask of a mobile game.- Jeuxvideo.com

The developers at WarioWare seem to have once again gone above and beyond to offer us completely insane mini-challenges in Move It!, to our delight. The title is a pretty medley that is still crazy and delirious, full of crazy ideas, coupled with the fun of motion gaming. This is enough to promise a few sessions of great fun for several people and for all ages. But it is still clear that this episode suffers from certain inequalities between these multi modes, a lack of inventiveness at times and an interest that quickly becomes limited after a few hours of session. Cult video game saga, Metal Gear Solid remains equal to itself and this compilation reminds us of all the qualities of the works of Japanese creator Hideo Kojima. Let it be said, it's a real pleasure to do each episode in chronological order (or not) and to relive some of the most epic moments in video game history (yes, yes, we can say...). But on the other hand, with such a series available, we cannot help but rail against the absence of certain elements (Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes to name but one) and a technique which would have deserved a best treatment. Konami's initiative is not bad in itself, but we keep the bitter feeling that they recovered the HD Collection by dusting it off slightly to create this compilation. After all, these video games will forever remain pure masterpieces and it can be a wonderful opportunity to (re)discover them.- Jeuxvideo.com

Alan Wake 2 is a completely unique adventure, an “author's game” that goes beyond the boundaries of video games... The Remedy studio appropriates here all the forms of art that it loves so much, moving from experience video game to live-action film, or from concert to photography. Clear-cut biases which give it all its charm, but which - on the contrary - can also be off-putting. What's more, as a video game, this second episode is not free of flaws either, and we regret jump scares that are a little too present and an open construction that quickly goes in circles. For the rest, it is a remarkable adventure, if not memorable.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Ghostrunner 2, the One More Level studio is making an action-adventure shift that is not without its challenges. By focusing on larger and not always very precise areas, we lose a little of what made the first part charming... Here, “die and retry” is more often synonymous with frustration, which results in a less addictive experience! The adventure is thus punctuated by attempts (more or less successful) to flesh out the experience - with a few passages that stand out, particularly in the second part. We therefore end up with a pleasant experience, driven by gameplay that is always effective, but which gets lost a little too often.- Jeuxvideo.com

Almost fifteen after New Super Mario Bros. Wii, this new episode reconnects the series of 2D platform games with the exceptional. While remaining faithful to it and keeping its gameplay devilishly simple and effective, it brings new ideas that hit the mark. The entire production is reminiscent of a musical comedy which never ceases to dazzle the player both in form and content. Mario is off to Wonderland, and so are we.- Jeuxvideo.com

With its mix of several genres (rogue-lite, twin-stick shooter, tower-defense), Endless Dungeon had everything to break your head. However, the French from Amplitude Studios have proven to us once again that they are capable of playing in the big leagues. Thanks to its originality, its very well-balanced rhythm and its impressive artistic direction, Endless Dungeon can be enjoyed alone or in cooperation with up to three players. And even if the runs are long and the narration lacks a bit of direction, you always want to get lost in the space station to finally reach the reactor. An excellent game which allows a very good end to a year 2023 already rich in content for rogue-lite fans.- Jeuxvideo.com

Spider-Man 2 is a very successful mainstream blockbuster, which will easily please fans of the license. The adventure is more explosive than ever, with technique that is sometimes truly impressive, a New York twice as big as in the past and even more in-depth side missions. That being said, Insomniac relies a little too much on the strengths (and weaknesses) of previous games, missing the opportunity to take the gameplay and writing a little further. In the end, it lacks a bit of momentum, of material to give life to a second episode that meets our expectations, but we still had an excellent time.- Jeuxvideo.com

That's it, CI Games and HexWorks finally have the Souls-like they wanted to add to their portfolio. Making a clean slate of the past is never easy, but Lords of the Fallen has definitely risen to this second chance. Yet anchored in a very classic formula which could have been detrimental to it, Lords of the Fallen does not rest on the laurels of others and delivers some interesting ideas which set it apart from the competition. Despite everything, the title still has too many small flaws and frustrations to climb to the top of the rankings. That being said, we are convinced of the potential of the license, even if it will need more effort to assert itself and flourish. This is not quite the case yet, but the second (a sequel?) will perhaps be the good one, as the destiny of the franchise dictates.- Jeuxvideo.com

Permanently taken by the hand, the player who sets out to discover Detective Pikachu Returns must be young enough to appreciate the formula... but not too young if they don't want to be put off by the idea of spending 12 hours reading texts. As for older fans of the Pokémon saga, they will try it just to discover the end of this incredible story which features a Pikachu with a gravelly voice dressed as Sherlock Holmes and a great coffee lover.- Jeuxvideo.com
