Jan 30, 2024Persona 3 Reload has an emotionally gripping tale that will pull on your heartstrings and a cast of complex heroes you will love and villains you will love to hate. In addition, the original Persona 3’s turn-based combat system and dungeon crawling have been massively enhanced in the remake to be faster paced and has new mechanics to make them more engaging. After the credits rolled, I was in awe of how much Persona 3 Reload improved the best aspects of Persona 3 while getting rid of aspects which held the original version back. The story was more captivating thanks to the improved writing and new scenes and the characters were more endearing. Also, the combat system and dungeon crawling were faster paced and more fun to play. While the difficulty isn’t as challenging as the original Persona 3, that didn’t stop me from having a blast playing this game. Persona 3 Reload is one of the best remakes of a game I’ve played since Capcom’s Resident Evil remakes and one of the best Xbox games I’ve played thus far in 2024 that both Persona fans and JRPG fans should not miss out on.

Feb 7, 2024Persona 3 is not only a nearly perfect version of one of the most important RPGs in the last 20 years, but it is also the best entry point in the franchise, refining the formula established by the original game by applying every improvement made to it by the time of Persona 5 Royal.

Jan 30, 2024Persona 3 Reload is the return of the critically acclaimed JRPG that redefined the genre. And it does so with an impressive work that respects the original, maintaining all its essence and adding new brushstrokes that give new layers of depth to both its story and its gameplay.

Mar 12, 2024Persona 3 Reload is surprisingly addictive and the story itself very intriguing. Sadly, it is not possible to play as the female protagonist or enjoy the expanded story from F.E.S, but updated graphics, battle mechanics and sound all help to still bring this title to greatness. Anyone who enjoyed the original will enjoy this remake, and new players picking it up will surely be drawn in quickly, as well.

Jan 30, 2024Persona 3 Reload adds a ton of updates that make it look and play better than ever, ensuring this is the best version of the game, even if certain fans will miss a few additions from previous re-releases that weren’t included here. It doesn’t, however, fix some of the core issues with the original game, such as a dungeon that is rarely exciting to explore, too many social links that are frustrating to complete, and poor balance between its available time periods. Fans of the series will still have a blast revisiting it, and those checking it out for the first time will find a lot of the same things they loved in the series’ later entries. At the end of the day, though, the reason Persona 3 has never been quite as popular as the two games that came after it isn’t due to it coming out at the wrong time; It’s because it just isn’t as good as they are.

Feb 2, 2024A cult classic for the modern age, with all the style and irreverence that conquered the world in Persona 5. By fine tuning some aspects, it's less complex, but it's still a title that shines brightly with Atlus's pedigree.

Jan 30, 2024Persona 3 Reload is one of the weakest video game remakes I’ve seen in the last few years.
