Don't Nod has arrived among the greats: Banishers combines a huge, enthralling world and a engaging narrative with good technology and effortlessly entertaining Kratos-style action-adventure combat.

We're totally on board with what DontNod has to offer, with this torn couple, this duality of gameplay and this dangerous world, but one whose every corner we want to explore. There's not much to criticize about this new production, which has so much to offer.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden grabs you by the soul and drags you through Hell. It’s a harrowing story that takes some turns you might not expect from the premise. Despite the lackluster combat, it’s easy to want to get lost in the woods and the gorgeous and frightening world of New Eden. It’s another common win for DON’T NOD, and it will continue to haunt me.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is Don't Nod's triumph. If you've played Vampyr and emerged unconvinced, please know that this game will make you believe this studio can one day be one of the greats. And if you liked the adventures of Jonathan Reed, wait no more and dive in!

I didn't wait for Banishers, and I didn't expect the game to be such a pleasant surprise for me. It's a wonderful and quite long adventure, filled with side stories. Banishers is a game haunted by the ghost of satisfaction – satisfaction from good gameplay and a great story. I want more.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a decent game, but it doesn't stand out in any particular way, and may fall victim to the curse of titles from the beginning of the year. The potential of the theme could have been better explored, and once again, the action in Don't Nod's own fashion seems unnecessary and rushed.

Banishers Ghosts of New Eden is a game that delivers a compelling love story that makes us want to see it reach its conclusion. The problem is that most of the other elements of the game take a backseat to the relationship between Antea and Red. Almost all of the secondary characters are not interesting and the main plot is forgotten in an anthology of problems to solve for the inhabitants of New Eden. This is not helped by a semi-open world whose exploration quickly proves boring. Fortunately, the fights are already proving more gripping, just like the famous Haunting Cases. You feel like a paranormal investigator, who must also make serious decisions that will have real consequences. We ultimately see that it is a game which has lots of good ideas, but which did not know how to execute them all in the right way.
