Apr 14, 2025Monster Hunter: Wilds represents the natural evolution of the franchise, introducing a series of improvements and, above all, quality-of-life features that make it more accessible to all kinds of players. It's a title that notably changes the traditional structure of separate missions and hunting zones, opting instead for an open world featuring distinct ecosystems and areas filled with a vast number of monsters to hunt. These enhancements don't stray far from the series' original formula, although they do make playing Monster Hunter somewhat easier and less frustrating.

Despite its sheer size, both in popularity and legacy, CAPCOM aren't afraid to jump head-first into new ideas. Wilds is a different kind of Monster Hunter that feels like a natural evolution of the formula. I have no doubts it'll go down as one of the best games in the series, and of 2025.

Unique monster designs with jaw-dropping behaviors and reactions to the environment, excellent art direction, and a fantastic soundtrack. The good old hunting mechanics to craft weapons and armor remain the most addictive element of the game, but there are caveats in the texture of the game and elements such as the menus, which could be more intuitive.
