Skyrim Special Edition isn't the prettiest remaster around and if you have a heavily modded PC version you won't find anything to take your breath away. This edition is aimed and console players - those who want to visit Skyrim for the first time, and those who want to forget the shoddy console version from the past. Besides - it's still a great game.

Modern Warfare Remastered on the PS4 is one of the best remasters in recent memory. It's a game worth having - especially if we played the original only when it came out or (what's even worse) we haven't at all. And when the multiplayer issues are resolved and the game becomes a stand-alone product, it'll be great.

Call of Duty needs freshening up. Infinite Warfare has a surprisingly good single-player campaign and a still really good multiplayer. Unfortunately all of this looks like minimal touch ups on a gameplay core that hasn't changed in a decade. Players seem to think the same - new CoD debuted in a disappointing fashion, plus the console version behaves better than the PC one.

Watch Dogs 2 is a bold sequel with some issues. Not all gameplay modifications are good, there are some bugs and performance on consoles isn't perfect. What's more the main story is pretty far from interesting but fortunately side missions remedy that. Ubisoft's new game can be really entertaining but you can't take it seriously. It works well as a cool and pretty funny product.

The experiment that is episode based first season of Hitman is both a success and a failure. 6 new maps and 6 new missions are mostly great - that's the most important core of the game that works well. What doesn't work is the story. It's not that interesting and there's too little of it. The question is - what is the most important thing to you?

It is really rare to play such an uneven AAA title. Mafia III has some amazing moments that exist next to some really bad ones. The most important thing for this series - the storyline and atmosphere (by the way, totally different than before) - is truly great. But in order to enjoy the game you have to forgive a metric ton of issues, ugly graphics and some repetitiveness.

Battlefield 1, DICE's newest baby, leaves its competitors in the dirt. It's a full-fledged installment in the series, a game on the Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3 level. Respawn Entertainment's new game is worthy of recommendation. The single-player campaign is a welcome and well made addition. On the other hand, multiplayer has been altered in a minimal way but that's ok - if it works well don't "fix" it. Simply put, Titanfall 2 is one of the best shooters around. Period.

Civilization VI is pretty much the best incarnation of the famous series on release day. It takes things from Civ V and makes them better, plus it introduces many changes and new additions. And it's really pretty. There are some classic issues with a not-so-smart AI on top of the pile, but the "one more turn" syndrome is strong. And that's the best recommendation you can give.

PS4 owners have finally gotten one of the best games of 2015. This version of Rise of the Tomb Raider has been enhanced with add-ons and new game modes and as such is an instant "must have". But these days that's not enough - a game running on a much more powerful hardware should be unique and FCP isn't. It's hard to justify spending money on a superb PC that will run the game in the highest settings when an equally good console version runs great on a cheaper machine. And you need to remember that Primal is just a visual overhaul of Far Cry 4.

Grim Dawn is a game that fulfills promises made by the developers and is one of the best entries in the hack'n'slash genre. The game is to be expanded and updated in the future: if dawn is so exciting, what will happen at dusk? And even if the multiplayer mode needs tweaking and beating the same storyline with different characters can become a bit boring, the game is simply very good and worth your money.

Heavy Rain on the PS4 is pretty much the game we know from PS3 but with better graphics. If you wanted something more, a complete edition of sorts, you'll be disappointed. What is more - the controls weren't improved and the remaster only adds some new issues in that matter. Still, Heavy Rain is one of the best interactive movies and an excellent thriller. If you don't know it, wait no further.

Surprisingly Deponia Doomsday is the most interesting and complex installment in the series. This is a well written sequel with very pretty levels, great soundtrack and some really demanding puzzles. The entire game is very funny as well and looks like a an expertly crafted piece of code. Must-have for point & click fans.

Superhot made quite a leap from the prototype stage to full version and changed for the better in the process. A fair warning though, if you crave a deep storyline and don't like additional challenges or levels the fun will end quickly. But if you love first person shooters and tend to max out every game you own, you might just have found your new favorite FPS. It's original and unique and deserves your attention.

Far Cry: Primal stands out as a game with an original, really well crafted world but in the end leaves quite a bit to be desired. Using primitive weapons, taming wild animals and observing interactions between all the inhabitants of Oros can be really fun. It's a pity that the game has a very weak storyline and copies gameplay mechanisms from previous installments. As a result, your view of Primal will depend on your feelings towards older Far Cry games.

Splitting White March, the Pillars of Eternity expansion, into two parts was a mistake. The game still shines on the story side but diversity of maps and gameplay balance (experienced characters are too strong) suffers a bit. Still, this expansion quenched my thirst for an adventure but as a big fan of Obsidian's game I'd like to hear about the development of Pillars of Eternity II.

Layers of Fear is a linear game that is a few steps behind the horror titans. The 4 hours needed to see the ending couldn't be considered wasted time but I had some doubts during. The game can scare you pretty well - unfortunately after a while the pattern becomes too repetitive (at the same time this is the moment where the rooms become more interesting). Layers of Fear takes some stuff from the P.T. demo - but when you copy, you should do it from the best source possible.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is a surprisingly good strategy game that does justice to the series and to the genre. I didn't seem that this desert version of a famous space RTS will be worth your time but as it turns out, Blackbird Studios delivered a worthy game that is beautiful and extremely playable.

Crashlands won't take over the PC market but it fits perfectly in the mobile world. The game provides lots of fun, has a deep gameplay, interesting combat mechanics and a storyline full of funny moments. It's a solid candidate to the title of "mobile game of the year". Well done!

Crudelis is a game based on a terrific idea that is worth copying in the future. Unfortunately the execution in terms of the narrative and technical side isn't that good. If the type of gameplay and issues that characterize this game doesn't bother you, give it a shot. It's original enough.

World of Tanks appears pretty late on the PS4 but does it with style. Playing without paid subscription eventually becomes tiresome but there's a big advantage: you don't need to pay for the PS Plus service. Owners of Sony's console have finally received a free, well made, pretty and engrossing war game.

Firewatch may be too short and with some minor technical issues but an excellent visual style, interesting characters, intriguing storyline and a very original place of action more than make up for that. Firewatch is something unique enough that is worth recommending not only to the fans of "walking simulator" games.

The Following, a big expansion to Dying Light, is a quite interesting game that will make some fall in love with it, and some will be left with a bad taste in their mouths. The story is more interesting, character development - deeper and driving the buggy is extremely fun. Unfortunately The Following makes parkour almost redundant and changes the unique gameplay model. There are good parts, there are bad parts, but all in all Dying Light looks more like Far Cry than ever before.

Some gamers will consider The Witness to be a masterpiece and another proof that videogames are art. In this case the Witness requires you to possess at least two out of these three character traits: superb intelligence, angelic patience and passion for analyzing various cultural works. Everyone else will probably think that The Witness is pretty, but too hard.

American Truck Simulator marks the beginning of a long adventure on American roads that was worth the wait. The game expands on the gameplay mechanics known from the developer's previous games and adds tons of new things that create a unique trucking experience. Right now it's simply the best game with big trucks.

Rise of the Tomb Raider on the PC looks and plays fantastically. Lots of various graphical options allow for comfortable gameplay even on weaker machines. Nixxes Software deserves some serious praise but let's not forget that real thanks should be aimed at Crystal Dynamics. The PC port wouldn't be so good if not for the excellent Xbox version.

XCOM 2 represents a safe school of making sequels. It uses a good, working, well-known gameplay basis on top of which some minor modification were created. And it's not such a bad way to go. More changes will undoubtedly appear in upcoming expansions but right now XCOM 2 is very, very satisfying. If you like tactical strategies, you can't miss it.

PC gamers have finally received one of the most unusual RPGs in recent history. It's a truly mesmerizing adventure - strange, sometimes hard to understand and even obsolete. But these things cannot really be considered as flaws. They're there for a reason. Dragon's Dogma is a great, original game that feeds of some well known clichés.

Darkest Dungeon is a very difficult, very interesting and very original game - a sturdy RPG mixed with a dungeon crawl and some aspects of roguelike games. As such it's not a game for everyone. Fans of these genres should have lots of fun - moments of irritation fade away and you simply need to visit this grim world once more. Darkest Dungeon is a very big and demanding product - I envy those players who will be able to max it out.

The developers are experimenting with their game and as a result Arbaaz's adventures are more interesting that Shao Jun's story. It's not as good as the almost perfect Mark of the Ninja but you can clearly see a step in the right direction. If you liked the previous game you'll be happy with the new Chronicles.

It's not for everybody and the gameplay is uneven but I hope the developers will explore this area. After some technical and gameplay tweaks Thea could be something big.

DiRT Rally has made me forgive all the bigger and smaller missteps Codemasters may have committed. It's a great, very demanding game that could benefit from more maps and attention to detail, but even considering those minor flaws it's simply the best rally game out there. Richard Burns Rally finally has a worthy successor.
