Once I’m actually playing, I have a ball with this, because it is, in a very real sense, a cultural phenomenon. Never has a game managed to get people to flock over to specific areas of town like birds to seed. People point to it being too simple as a game, but really the game bit is barely relevant. What is relevant is that this game has people out and about, socialising and exploring. There’s a group experience event going on with Pokemon Go, and it’s addictive to simply be part of the collective.

An amazing game. I would even dare to say that it is an amazing social experience. The idea of traveling, meeting new trainers and catch pokemons everywhere is simply too good to be true. Cannot wait to play it even more, I've never been so eager to go grocery shopping.

Pokemon GO is already the best thing from 2016. Although the game has some server issues, once these problems are resolved the hype will probably continue. Thanks to limitless possibilities in add ons of Pokemon and features.

It's not perfect, but it is special. Pokémon Go uses a set of simple but functional mechanics to encourage social play and actual exercise. You won't love it purely for the game (if battling with friends is introduced that may well change) but what the game inspires is absolutely part of its success. I've gone on walks with friends purely to catch Pokémon in the real world. My eight-year-old self would have exploded if you told him that would one day be a reality.

This game is a worldwide phenomenon, which says a great deal about how much the fans love Pokémon. The technical issues and the shallow gameplay should have already killed the app, but instead the geocaching and AR make this a social adventure that we will definitely be playing for a long time to come.

As a game, Pokémon GO is weak at it's best. But as a social phenomenon, it knows no limits. They make us believe that we must catch them all... But it is they who've captured us.

So we've got a game that I don't enjoy from any angle (which sucks), but it's also dominating the cultural conversation right now (which is great). I'm torn on this one, honestly! See, I don't recommend Pokémon Go the video game. But I can't get enough of Pokémon Go the cultural artifact. It's a Videodrome-esque obsession, and I'm very disappointed in how excited I am to play my part. Long live the new flesh.

I know many people will be dissappointed because some areas are emptier than others and there is in app purchases, but what do you expect from a free to play game? Its one of the most addicting and fun games i have played in a long time and going for a walk with friends is really fun. Pokemon go can be laggy at times and it will crash, but it doesnt happen that often and it uses quite a lot of battery, but these are just little things and i recommend this game to everyone. Expand

Spent many hours walking around with my spouse catching Pokémon in the park and downtown. Saw many other people doing the same thing, even ran into old friends. The game is very simple and very fun, walked nearly 15 km's so far. Even battled in some gyms. Cons: Can get slightly repetitive with another Zubat, end game is only gym battles.
    Well worth playing.

It has gotten me out and about my neighborhood like no other app has. I prefer to be indoors, in my home, and I would rather not be in places with a lot of people. This game makes me want to be out amongst others.

The game is easy to play when it works. I haven't missed throwing pokeballs correctly very often. The Pokedex is nice to see. I haven't started upgrading my Pokémon, or done anything with eggs, but I am sure those things will only keep me playing more.

I will update my review in about a month once this game has had time to get patched and more features added.

Pokemon GO is a decent mobile game with many glaring flaws. First is the negative play experience for players in rural areas or a neighborhoodPokemon GO is a decent mobile game with many glaring flaws. First is the negative play experience for players in rural areas or a neighborhood without any major landmarks for Pokestops. This makes the obtaining and maintaining of the items required to play the game difficult without spending money. This also extends to finding other players to participate in raids with if you struggle to have people in your friends list available. Second is how repetitive the game play becomes after a while with the battles such as raids just requiring tapping, and collecting Pokemon being monotonous. The final issue to the devaluing of shiny Pokemon brought on by events with extremely high odds which can be transferred in to the main games with less effort than usually needed to obtain the rare coloring. Overall, this app has issues that are either difficult or impossible to solve that prohibit many peoples enjoyment, including mine, but for others, this game brings large amounts of enjoyment and an unseen level of connectivity to our favorite pocket monsters. BROOOKKEENNN, It crashes frequently, locks up if I catch a Pokemon or start a Gym battle, Constantly logs me out. The Opening Load times just add fuel to the fire of frustration of having to constantly restart the game.

There is literally no excuse for a game to be released in such a current state, especially since it likes to drain my Battery and my Data plan. It's unoptimized, it's shallow and its clear they released it early to cash in on the Pokemon Nostalgia.

If you want to keep playing, I ain't going to stop you. However I implore you DON'T SPEND A CENT on this game until they fix the issues.

It's addicting but gets old realAs a big fan of the Pokemon franchise I'm truly disappointed and I don't understand the hype for this "game". It's addicting but gets old real fast because:
    - There are no trading system,
    - No player vs player,
    - Only 151 out of 721 Pokemon,
    - If you live in the countryside or far away from a major city you won't have as much (if any) poke stops and gyms in your area thus limiting your experience.

the only kinda but not really battle that you can have is against AI that controls the Pokemon stationed in the gym by the other player. And even this "battle" is simplified to screen taping without real strategy like in real Pokemon games.

Stay away from this so called "game".

This was a game I lived for when it first came out back in July. It seemed like an awesome game, so I figured why not play it? I was hooked instantly. I caught pokemon after pokemon and it was so much fun. Now the game has turned into rubbish. Niantic, you can go jump in a lake with this pile of crap. You made it so that YOU CANNOT EVEN PLAY THE GAME IN A CAR PERIOD as a passenger, and I cannot even do anything more than a brisk walk and the game will cease to function. All that is in my area is dumb common pokemon, or nothing at all. I will not recommend even my worst enemy play this pile of trash. I would highly recommend getting Pokemon Sun and Moon if you haven't done so already, its by far a much better game. Even when and if Generation 2 comes out, it won't be fun anymore because you cant even use the game anywhere. This game sucks and I am so upset that Niantic had to turn it into this.....this terrible excuse for a game. I really am flabbergasted as to why they'd do this, but something is telling me they want people to PAY instead of make it a free game. Goodbye Pokemon Go and good riddance. I am completely done with you. Expand
