I don't know if I can recommend Q-Force to fans of the series. I think that after 11 games with these heroes, Insomniac Games has hit a wall. It's quite a good and demanding game that, unfortunately, has nothing in common with the "platform shooter" that the fans know and love. Insomniac has some ideas for this brand, but the new game isn't great both as a platformer, and as a tower defense game. Mixing these two elements produces a decent end result, but you should want more from such a developer.

Both parts of Baldur's Gate have been given a ton of excellent modifications that make the Enhanced Edition look poor. The overall grade given to the "new" Baldur can seem controversial, so let me explain. Baldur's Gate as a game deserves a full 10 out of 10, but the Enhanced Edition introduces so few interesting new elements, that it's impossible to give it more than 6/10. And in this case we really should consider only the new content.

It's a weak DLC. Things as important as the story or gameplay leave a lot to be desired, and the only valuable part of this expansion is the cast. New characters are interesting and have unique skills, that make playing this DLC bearable. Unfortunately - you have to demand more from such a pricey expansion. Stupid story, boring locations and monotonous gameplay that consists only of shooting are the key features of Omega. It's one of the worst DLCs in Mass Effect history, and perhaps even in BioWare's.

Iron Sky: Invasion isn't a bad game. There is a chance, that some fans of space flights and fights will enjoy it. But you need to remember, that it's a simple game that looks more like a complex indie game and if not for the movie tie-in, no one would have heard about it. The politics plays no part in the gameplay, the fights are slow and have a bad difficulty balance. A good idea is not enough to make an interesting game.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings is a superb platformer with many stealth and puzzle sections. The game has some minor flaws, but all in all, LEGO LotR is the best game from the "brick" series. Excellent atmosphere, a diverse and pleasant gameplay - all that guarantees a high quality game. It's no revolution, but the developers have taken steps in the right direction that allow to think about an even brighter future for virtual LEGO bricks. And this is good news for all gamers in general.

Warriors of the North is a good game that provides many hours of fun, but at the same time leaves a lot to be desired. The developers show too little creativity when it comes to putting interesting new things in their games. Even Warrior Princess offered more in that department: flying, a rebuilt skill system, new locations. This game takes too much from its predecessors and offers not enough new things. King's Bounty would benefit from a revolution - a sequel built from the ground up.

PlanetSide 2 allows you to take part in a fully fledged war and write the history of the planet yourself - it's no scripted spectacle. Who wouldn't want to be a part of a small unit that has to stop an assault of a much bigger army while waiting for reinforcements? Remember - all of that happens in confrontation with a live, intelligent player. PlanetSide 2 works great for hardcore FPS fans, and for those players who simply want to shoot from time to time. The most important thing: the game is free (micro transactions are far from being problematic) and everyone should try it.

Far Cry 3 is one of the most interesting games of the year. The single-player mode is a great mix of a big sandbox and an atmospheric story with interesting characters. There are some mistakes here and there, but all in all everyone should be satisfied - sandbox lovers and fans of good storylines alike. What's more, the multiplayer isn't something added just because it needs to be - it's a great, big, rightful mode focused on cooperation (an additional co-op mini-campaign that borrows character progress from the standard multiplayer is a welcome bonus). Far Cry 3 is a package full of pleasant surprises. An insanely good game.

A follow-up that doesn't disappoint. What's more - it's simply a great game that should appeal to the veterans of the series (they can stop worrying about their favorite bald-headed assassin), as well to those players about to meet Agent 47 for the first time. The finished product is not only very complex, but extremely playable thanks to great freedom and rich content that provide high quality fun for hours.

Of course - adult gamers may remain indifferent to this game, but if you're one of them and have fond memories of Disney's cartoons and you have an inner child, you could be seduced by the duo of heroes. Who wouldn't want to help save such an interesting and pleasant world?

Rocksmith isn't really a game the same way Guitar Hero is. It's more of a complex educational software that uses the look of a video game for better motivation. You could easily use YouTube videos and Guitar Pro tabs instead - and thousands of self-taught guitarists do. Fortunately putting everything in one place and using nice game-like graphics create a product that motivates better than any "usual" software does.

Catapulting birds still gives a lot of joy, because the guys at Rovio have created good levels and tweaked the flow of gameplay. But even with such a large amount of additions, the new Star Wars-themed game can quickly become boring for someone who has completed Angry Birds Space. It's simply another piece of the same game - at least from the basic conceptal standpoint, because the new levels are satisfying. I hope that the developers have something new to show, when most gamers - upon looking at a new game from the series - will say "What, Angry Birds again?".

It's hard to recommend Black Ops II to fans of story-based single player campaigns. Treyarch had problems connecting a story with strong characters, with a dynamic, linear shooter. The result is chaotic, but a mediocre single player mode cannot weigh heavily on a final opinion about this game. The most important thing in Black Ops II is an incredible multiplayer - a classic, fast-paced game with many innovations. The Pick 10 system opens up a metric ton of possibilities, and really good maps and play styles create a package never before seen in a Call of Duty game. If that's the thing you want in a modern shooter, you couldn't have picked better.

The new incarnation of Need for Speed: Most Wanted is something we have seen before. Developers from Criterion Games have merged Burnout and NFS, but the name Most Wanted is just a marketing ploy. The game has almost nothing in common with its famous predecessor but it's not a bad game. The British developer is one of the best racing games creators and has a certain way of doing things - their products are always at least good. Even though Most Wanted looks like an autoplagiarism, it's a game capable of giving lots of fun.

It seems that the Giant Software team has prepared the field to be cultivated but forgot to plant some seeds. A handful of new things and a new batch of machines and tools isn't enough to cover up lots of bugs in the mechanics and physics engine. Painkiller: Hell & Damnation brings no shame to the original game. Guys from The Farm 51 took their job seriously and tried to freshen up the series the best way possible. Younger gamers have the opportunity to look how FPS games looked almost a decade ago, and older gamers get to go back in time but with really nice graphics. Assassin's Creed III: Liberation is a game with a dual nature. On one hand - we finally have a true, big game from AC series on a handheld console with a lot of new and interesting ideas. On the other hand - the end result is mediocre. You could complain about almost everything: a weak storyline, a faulty fighting system, boring side-quests and some minor technical flaws. The game's adventure formula is a reason for Lucius being a one-time thing. Almost every time there is only one way to complete a mission and when action (and not puzzles) moves to the spotlight, Lucius becomes chaotic and weird. There are no reasons to replay Lucius after finishing it - unless you loved a certain part or two. The game ends in a way that teases a sequel, perhaps Lucius will have an opportunity to become a better game with a more polished formula. Right now it's short, quite expensive and strange, but the basic idea is great.

The new Football managers sparks some controversy - for the first time in the series's history you can use real money to buy things. For a couple of euro/dollars you can lift restrictions in the scouting network, do away with job permits or lock the possibility of being fired. Fortunately, all in all, FM 2013 is still the same, great game. No competition in this genre is a good thing, because SI Games can test and experiment as they please - without having to look at others. Assassin's Creed III is a really good AAA game that sucks you in after a brief contact. Unfortunately there are some things missing, and minor flaws can be observed, and those things prevent me from considering Ubisoft's new game as something truly extraordinary. It has everything a game from this series should have, but after watching the end credits there's a feeling that something is lacking. A lost opportunity. We wanted a game that will lift the series out of mediocrity - the advertising campaign promised us a game with a fresh approach to cooperative shooting. Unfortunately Warfighter is average at best. It's a simple shooter that doesn't stand out and will likely die covered in many new war-themed first person shooters. Despite an interesting concept, Of Orcs and Men is a mediocre and poor game even for an action RPG. The entire world fits into several dozen simple paths and there are almost no secondary quests. What is more, there's a too simple progress system and a boring story (which was a strong point of Cyanide's A Game of Thrones). Of Orcs and Men has an interesting team of lead characters, but that's not enough for a quite long adventure ahead. I'm disappointed with the new Forza, but not because it's a poor game or one that doesn't meet my expectations. It's a really good game, but there's no big ambition. You play it and you put it away. The first admiration fades away quickly and later on it is evident, that the developers lacked ideas for filling an open world with content. It looks as if the new Forza is a framework that will be filled by the means of DLC. How else can you think about it, when all the game's secrets can be revealed by using real money? The Secret World isn't your traditional MMORPG, but there's no denying, that it's one of the most inventive games in the genre ever. Funcom has delivered lots of well thought out, interesting innovations and the gamers get a perfectly crafted wold and lost of fun. But remember – it's not a game for people with slow Internet connection; they will suffer from texture pop-up, severe lags and occasional server disconnections that can result in their character's death.

Galaxy on Fire 2 Full HD is a well made conversion of a good smartphone game. Although the game has some flaws, it keeps you glued to the screen. A fairly big amount of freedom and a very pleasant gameplay model are the game's biggest assets. You could want it to be a more complex, "bigger" game, but you need to remember, that it's not an AAA title and its simplicity should appeal to many players. If you play for no more than 2-3 hours at once, you should have a very good time – especially if you treat GoF2 as an arcade action game and not a space fighter simulator.

Sleeping Dogs is – for me - one of the biggest surprises of 2012. I had absolutely no interest in this game and was expecting a mediocre GTA clone with some extra brutality on the top. After just 2 hours of playing my opinion changed dramatically. I haven't had the opportunity to experience a game with such a compelling hero for a long time. Every death of a friendly character had an impact on me. Even reading a report describing tortures and death of the protagonist's predecessor gave me chills. A standing ovation!

Despite a handful of flaws, Crossfire isn't a bad or unnecessary expansion. After finishing Back to Action I felt that there should be a new territory to conquer. I didn't think that the developer will fix a lot of mistakes and make some new ones on the way. This add-on is imbalanced, has an economy that is unfitted to the new territory, and a lot of "gaming mines" that are easy to step on. All in all, Crossfire is a game worse than Back to Action was on the day of its debut.

The developers haven't created a new game. Even though Global Offensive has some small innovations, it's mostly an adjustment of a well known game to today's standards. After a few hours I felt some kind of relief, that Valve kept the good old CS intact, but then something hit me. There are no radical changes – only a very obvious lifting, and this series is in trouble. CS:GO is a great game only because the original CS is a great game. If you're not a fan of this kind of gameplay, don't buy Global Offensive – it offers nothing more.

Darksiders II is a great follow-up aimed mainly at the fans of the first game. Fortunately it can easily appeal to players unfamiliar with War's adventures, players simply looking for a good slasher. The game offers lots of fun, making the player not only show off his/her skills in fighting and jumping, but in logical thinking as well. The game's quality suffers a tiny bit because of its graphics and lack of a really "big" ending. But remember - these small flaws are not enough to discourage anyone. Darksiders II is a great investment that will keep you glued to the screen for a long time.

Slightly Mad Studios is responsible for Ferrari Racing Legends and it has failed – people who have given us great NFS Shifts created a weak game, as if all the manpower was focused on Project Cars. FRL looks like a game glued together by students without a big enough salary. The game has an imbalanced and badly designer campaign and lots of Ferraris to test. But the latter isn't much of an asset, because of a strictly restricted access – an ridiculously high (for most) difficulty level. You get even more irritated, when a race ends due to slight corner cutting. This game is a dud that you shouldn't think about.

Comfortable controls and a variety of improvements are great advantages of the console version, that unfortunately still suffers from some flaws. But if you try to let them slide and perhaps drown your sorrows in rum, you will recieve a really good game.

Playing Unmechanical is a very pleasant experience. You get from one puzzle to another and try very hard to come up with a solution – what needs to be moved, pressed, stacked or opened to progress. Unfortunately, the end comes too quickly. The whole game will take up to 4 hours for a skilled player. There are a few ways to get to the finale, but still Unmechanical leaves you wanting more. Perhaps it is so, because a longer gameplay would become frustrating? It's hard to say.

Orc extermination gives you a lot of fun, and thanks to an extended arsenal, trap upgrades, new enemies and an excellent co-op mode the gameplay is even better than before. It's a really pretty and atmospheric platformer that lacks ingeniuity and something new. I have been waiting for something exceptional to happen, for a situation that would make me understand that I just did something intriguing, uncommon and difficult. Instead the game offers uneven scenes, frustrating parts and a somewhat disappointing ending. The game should be bigger and perhaps a little more daring. Right now Deadlight is a game for people heavily interested in a zombie apocalypse and platformers in general.

Retribution is worth your time under one condition –you like online shooters, you don't get carried away with emotions and will treat this game as entertainment and not a fierce match to the death. Game mechanics is perfect, you can easily feel differences between weapons, even after a slight modification. The game uses Unreal Engine 3, is well optimized and looks nice, although the industrial style and sterile locations prevent you from being astonished. I'm not a hardcore shooter fan, so after a while – even with all the weapons and customization – I became bored. Retribution offers nothing new.
