Kingdom Hearts 3 is already one of the best games for me personally in 2019. Because of the childhood memories, the staging, the fun fights and the great mix of epic square fantasy and the winking Disney style. Besides, it just makes me happy to beat the styled, overpowering villains with a cactus.

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is the most unusual remake I've ever played. Before you buy it, you should know exactly what you're getting into with this new edition.

Neva is a wonderful and entertaining adventure, but it doesn't quite match Gris on an emotional level.

Flipping Death is an absurdly funny adventure, which doesn't offer a big challenge, but its charm compensates for that.

Thanks to the decision-making system and the better fights, I'm having even more fun with Odyssey than with Origins.

F1 23 is an amazing racing game for Formula 1 fans but it fails to take the extra mile.

Wonderful farm sim that creates a lively island world with attention to detail and good ideas, in which we sink into for hours.

Cult of the Lamb is a great Roguelite/Building-Sim mix, but it remains a little bit too shallow.

So in the end there is pure joy to finally be able to play the classics on the switch, and the faded aftertaste that so much more would have been possible here.

Hitman 2 is everything I wanted after the preceeding episode. More creative, more imposing, even if the basic structure remains very similar.

As a big fan of Remedy, I was really looking forward to Control. In the end, however, I was largely disappointed. Thanks to the confused narrative style, I have never really gotten warm with the exciting background story.

The cute treasure hunter Toad has lost none of its charm in this version for the Switch. For veterans however, there isn't much new stuff to find.

A true classic of game history with a lovely new livery, however, outdated game design is cause for some frustration.

For me, Catherine: Full Body is a jewel that manages a special feat: it's a remarkable new edition that retains the idiosyncratic appeal of its original version. Off the beaten track, Far Cry 5 is strongly reminiscent of its predecessors. If you have no problem with ticking off small tasks in an Open World shooter, you can blow off steam with sufficient weapons, tools and vehicles. But much more was expected from the now fifth Far Cry installment.

The game does exactly what it promises: It's a fun and entertaining game show in a colorful look and, thanks to the small minions, a lot of good humor. The big problem - and the developers want to address this as quickly as possible - is the lack of variety. More mini-games, variations of the rounds and one or the other new modes are needed. At the moment, despite all the fun, you can't shake the feeling that you are still in the early access phase of a future multiplayer hit. But I am hopeful that new content will follow very quickly.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy provides a fun action adventure with small gameplay weaknesses for fans.

Space Marine 2 is a graphically impressive co-op action firework that is plagued by design flaws and shaky technology.

Pokémon Sword & Shield is the best game in the series thanks to more complex combat and attention to detail.

New Super Mario Bros. U on the switch is again one of the best 2D Mario games. For veterans of the original, however, there are too few innovations.

Fantasy Life i is a very good Lifesim-RPG that will keep you busy for many hours and only allows itself a few blunders.
