    Mortal Kombat X is easily the pinnacle of Mortal Kombat, building on every improvement the series made in 2011, adding depth to the main fighter and delivering advancement to the modes that only NetherRealm could offer.

    Mortal Kombat X offers the best story mode I've ever personally seen in a fighting game. Its cohesive plot and extended cinematics makes you feel much more like a participant in a film than a player on the couch. The fighting is frantic, fluid, and dynamic, with the glorious goriness of the X-Ray moves often turning the tides of battle.

    Mortal Kombat X is the best in the series so far. It offers lots of things to do and a game mechanics that are easy to learn but difficult to master. Also the executions are more spectacular then ever before.

    Although you can't escape it, Mortal Kombat X's violence doesn't come at the cost of great gameplay design; it's either your punishment for failure, or your reward for mastering the art of kombat.

    Netherrealm has taken a number of welcome steps forward with Mortal Kombat X, but no momentum is gathered, because it's stopped in its tracks by an avalanche of needless distractions, some miserable netcode and - oddly, for a game so obsessed with death in all its grisly forms - poor execution of decent ideas. Fan favorite iconic characters and newcomers all play differently thanks to the variation system in place, allowing for many different types of playstyles. Fatalities are vicious and more detailed than ever, whereas brutalities are brilliantly incorporated into gameplay for seamless combo enders. Having a variety of modes such as towers, story mode, test your might and the content filled Krypt to name a few, MKX is jam packed full of things to do and unlock. The gameplay is casual player friendly, but complex enough for hardcore players to dig into and master. Mortal Kombat is one of the few series that is fueled by dev and fan passion alike, and MKX is worth every penny. Absolutely spectacular game, definitely my Goty, and will be enjoyed for years to come. If you are looking for fun, this is without question worthy of your consideration.… Expand

Let me start out by saiying that Liu Kang is indeed playable, so do your research next time, please. Now for the review. Mortal kombat is awesome in every way. There is so much content i this game. I am new to the whole Mortal kombat stuff, but I have totally fallen in love with this franchise. The characters are unique and exciting, the story mode challenges modern Hollywood movies and the x-rays and fatalities are so disturbing and fun to watch. This is one of my favorite Fighters of all time. I can only recommend it to everybody!… Expand

It does everything that the series has become known for so well, brutal combo-based combat and stomach-churning violence and gore, whilst adding so much more including - surpisingly - an enthralling and engaging story mode. Brilliantly designed Multiplayer and Online Interactivity also adds to the package. The "Pay to Make It Easier" DLC can be largely ignored, but a Publisher arbitrarily cutting content to sell on later cannot. Netherealm Studios have crafted a wonderful game that has sadly been sullied by Warner Bros trying to cash in.… Expand
