Look, it's really simple, Burnout Paradise Remastered is essential for fans of racing games everywhere. They just don't make them like this anymore (but they really, really should).

Burnout Paradise Remastered is a breath of fresh air for the racing genre. It takes the realistic aspects of racing and throws them out the window with fast and furious driving that feels great. The sense of speed achieved as you zip through the streets of Paradise City listening to Soundgarden’s ‘Rusty Cage’ is truly astounding. It’s both frantic and fun.

Burnout Paradise was packed with action and extremely enjoyable arcade racing in its initial release, and this remastered version is equally exciting, if not more, due to the upgraded performance of the current generation of consoles.

Burnout Paradise is back... again. After 10 years Criterion's masterpiece is still entertaining as hell and looks beautiful on the PS4.
  5. After ten years, Burnout Paradise comes back from where it left itself. Online services are back online and there are plenty of players, to have fun like back in the day. Burnout Paradise Remastered is a charming piece for all the arcade race lovers.

A classic arcade racer that was always ahead of its time and seems both refreshing, and thoroughly modern, even now.

A paradox. Equipped with a purring, powerful new under-the-hood upgrade, the game delivers a pure driving experience that is on-par with many of its contemporaries in the looks and feel department. Unfortunately, it’s also running on well-worn tires. Some of the quirks, acceptable in 2008, haven’t been ironed out, and the game can feel sparse and comparatively tiny when scaled against later titles.

Now that I've played Paradise too, I can say, it is very fun, just like the old ones. Please don't just bury these fantastic games. Remaster more or even make a new title. I don't care. It can only be good (without micro-transactions). Expand

I never played the original but this is the kind of racing game I like. This is the kind of steering and boosting I love. Need for Speed needsI never played the original but this is the kind of racing game I like. This is the kind of steering and boosting I love. Need for Speed needs to be like this. Instead it's pretty much the opposite... So this Burnout Paradise Remastered was a breath of fresh air. Kind of reminded me of Need for Speed Most Wanted in some ways. Just the smoothness and everything. Love this game so much. What is Need for Slow doing? You're either first or last. Need for Speed Heat is last right now.... Burnout Paradise Remastered is 1st.. I want Need for Speed Most Wanted Remastered.... Expand

This almost sounds like something we should take forA solid remaster that comes with all the additional content for a reasonable price. This almost sounds like something we should take for granted but these days, not so much. So this came to quite a surprise to me. So I'm sure if you played the game back in 2008, you won't need much convincing here. I never played Burnout Paradise in 2008 so this was a new experience for me so to those few people similar to me, this review is for you.

The game has mostly aged very well. The handling of the cars feels great, very fast paced but sometimes overwhelming if you’re using faster cars. The detection between cars needs a little improvement but it’s mostly there, you will crash without knowing why quite a few times. The events are fun to do although a bit repetitive overtime. If you’re completing the events, try not to use the DLC vehicles straight off as you will break the games progression. They are incredibly overpowered and you will cheese the game.

But the exploration of the world, smashing through gates and billboards, getting the fastest times on roads and racing around with your friends online is where the game really shines at its best here. It is a very well designed world. Full of shortcuts, stunts and unique locations. It be hard not to say you will spend the majority of your time on exploration.

I never really liked any of the freeburn challenges, like doing very specific tasks with random people online. It was a very good concept but it usually ended up with people not following the tasks, not understanding them and generally ended up with a lot of downtime waiting and people leaving half way. There's a lot of them to complete and I personally found it too much of a hassle to bother.

To sum up here, this game is a very well done remaster and really highlights the reasons why we need another Burnout game. Well as long as EA keeps it’s greed out of the picture anyway. I never 100% completed it or anything but my short time with it was nothing short of enjoyable.

Ahh nostalgia. There certainly needs to be more burnout games just like there needs to be more midnight club and Motorstorm!. Too many racingAhh nostalgia. There certainly needs to be more burnout games just like there needs to be more midnight club and Motorstorm!. Too many racing games tries to pull the more realistic setting and that is all you see instead of the fun, chaotic, mayhem of driving a fast car through a city. Only complaint I have for this remastered is that the graphics could have been overhauled more. It does have an improvement over the original, but the games graphics do feel outdated. Besides that though, this game is still a blast and comes with a free dlc and tons of vehicles to choose from to take on the various missions as you try to upgrade your drivers license! If you have missed out on a burnout series, please do yourself a favor and get this! Expand
