Brushes with Death, the first major DLC for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, unfortunately clearly falls short compared to the base game. While its plot offers some good moments and bears the hallmarks of quality writing from Warhorse Studios, it largely fails to effectively engage the player. With its tedious medieval fetch quests, a narrative entirely centered on an otherwise perfectly secondary character, an underwhelming new exclusive mechanic, and disappointing rewards, this is a picture that we believe will have a hard time selling, despite a rather reasonable price.- Gameblog.fr

If you're not familiar with the series, or was always put off by its demanding gameplay, this episode might be the one for you. It's simple yet impressive enough. As an adaptation of the world-renowed french comics, Astérix & Obélix XXL3 does quite the job but the level design in general lacks of inventiveness, especially in co-op mode. The solo mode is not very engaging either because we can't give orders to the second character, not to mention that the AI is very defective.- Gameblog.fr

The post-Elden Ring era was going to be difficult, that much was certain. FromSoftware's work on Armored Core 6 is bound to be compared to that of GOTY 2021, and unfortunately it pales into insignificance. At no point do you get a sense of the studio's maturity or expertise. Armored Core 6 could have been anyone's game. A messy title, not very pretty and very repetitive. A game with an archaic, old-fashioned structure that leaves no room for immersion and doesn't even seem to want to draw the player into its world. Fortunately, the gameplay is fun, the sensations are pretty good and some sequences stand out from the crowd. Not to mention the incredible customisation of our mechas, which is sure to delight fans and the big kids in all of us. But does that really justify throwing yourself into the game? I'm not sure. =- Gameblog.fr

This first DLC for Human Revolution leaves us with a mixed feeling. On one hand, it's a very nice invitation to further dive into the formidable world of the game (both in stealth or rampage mode). On the other, we can't really say it brings anything new to the table, and the environment is quite tight, with some areas needed to be crossed back and forth. It also suffers from the same technical issues than the original, but it still is worth experiencing, and offers 6-7 hours of play with a nice boss ending (finally one you can approach in several different ways), and a storyline that will teach you who the real Belltower is.- Gameblog.fr

This new iteration of Cities XL just lacks a little depth. But the solo gameplay is now more comprehensive (thanks to the inclusion of public transport, for example) even though there are still some issues like the freight. Unfortunately, the multiplayer disappeared in this refinement process of the previous iteration, without much to make up for the loss in challenge. Indeed, you'll have to do with the joys of management alone, or, of course, the simple pleasures of building lovely cities.- Gameblog.fr

Like an ambitious rookie, AO International Tennis appeared promising, with alleged photo realistic looks and authenticity backed by an extensive data built AI. But Big Ant Studios' production can't live up to these expectations, at least for now, despite an interesting timing approach and undeniable efforts showed through the numerous updates. The lacklustre presentation, the shallow (though large amount of) content and the erratic gameplay literally smash the whole experience, which still looks more like some distant imitation rather than simulation, hence suggesting the lack of a bold, expert direction overall.- Gameblog.fr

Transformers: War for Cybertron is a solid TPS, although a quite straightforward one if you play it alone. Going multiplayer gives it added depth, since using and mixing powers in teamplay make it more interesting to play. No More Heroes III is radical, punk and messy experience with a unique personality that will indeed please players who have been seduced by the first episodes on Wii - despite theirs flaws that are still those of this third game. 10 years have passed since No More Heroes 2, and as many games have successfully been walking on the same path, breaking codes and brilliantly combining content and form, it's surprising that Suda 51 did not give more scope to his title to sublime its personality.- Gameblog.fr

Indeed less memorable than the CG trailer that skyrocketed the buzz around its name, Dead Island still differentiates itself from the rest of the action/horror games thanks to a singular atmosphere. It's a shame its story is forgettable, its close range combat is sometimes confusing and its production values lag behind today's average, because the Banoi Island does have its charms. Stardrive boasts a no-compromise approach to 4X strategy that is interesting enough. Its relatively simple in terms of management mechanics, but still requires the player to pay attention, since every element has a major impact on his game. On the contrary, the deep customization system of the ships needs to be studied meticulously to be handled with efficiency, on a per-case basis, because the economy doesn't really allow massive aramadas. Kinect Sports is a nice surprise among the launch line-up of Kinect. Granted, it's nothing outstanding, but still good fun. It's easy to pick-up, and family-friendly. And actually pretty physical! All we would ask is a new iteration with more mini-games, fun and ideas.- Gameblog.fr

Those familiar with the LEGO franchise won't be disoriented. LEGO The Incredibles is a fun game to explore and controlling the Pixar characters each with their own abilities can be really enjoyable. Alas, the game is not very challenging, especially when it comes to fight several minions by simply press the same button, and the main adventure is quite short.- Gameblog.fr

Here we are. We haven't really been sold on this DiRT 3 spin off. Yes, the envelope is gorgeous, with superb car models, nice lighting effects, and a perfect frame rate, but in the end it still feels a little dull. The races are stringed together without any real thrill, and overall, we're underwhelmed. Throw in some lengthy load times, and what you get is a little above-average racing game, despite some nice multiplayer stuff.- Gameblog.fr

Deadlight had everything to be the perfect Summer of Arcade killer game. But its Prince of Persia like mechanics seem as dated as their reference, and it comes a little bit short of the expectations we had for it.- Gameblog.fr

Afterparty begins as a very joyful festivity in which you encounter a lot of great and eloquent people in a very charming place. But it continues as a very passive, clumsy experience and ends as a forgettable game from which you retain mostly technical issues, lack of impactful and pleasant interactions, instead of its strong writing and amazing vocal performances. Too bad, this Hell was surely paved with good intentions.- Gameblog.fr

Particularly complicated release for F1 24, which is trying as best it can to catch up at the last minute with the deployment of its update 1.3 aimed mainly at correcting the enormous physics problems. The career mode, complete, pleasant and immersive, fortunately serves as a pillar for a title which gives us the unpleasant sensation of playing an early access game designed on the basis of F1 23, the fault of the low number of real new features which, for the most part, don't even seem complete. Unchanged graphics, 4 reworked circuits, generic VR, bugs that still persist and physics still being modified following player feedback... at the time we are writing this test, it seems very complicated to recommend the purchase of the game compared to its predecessor , and even more so at the maximum price of €80. EA now has a lot to do to quickly correct an F1 24 which despite everything has interesting potential, but which suffers enormously from its far too rapid pace of release, where an annual update between two opuses would allow the teams to breathe to offer a real game over.- Gameblog.fr

With its sexy heroins and its more adventure-oriented formula, Atelier Totori is more appealing than its predecessor. Even though it stays relatively similar in terms of visuals and at its core, Atelier Totori offers some gameplay adjustments and story enhancements, for the better. A classic-style RPG, but a nice one.- Gameblog.fr

Tiny brains is a fun little game that gives importance to cooperation in multiplayer. Despite a look a bit messy and relatively poor graphics, it's quite fun to chain sessions with friends.- Gameblog.fr

If Strange Brigade has the good idea to offer an original set and tone in the kind of cooperative shooter, it does so either too late or too bad, but in any case, it does not fully convince. Especially against the competition already in place.- Gameblog.fr

Based on the PSP version of the game, Star Ocean First Departure R is first and foremost addressed to the new players. It has some nice improvements though such as the ability to double the game's speed, new illustrations for the characters and a fully new Japanese voice acting by the original cast. However, the high price of the game, combined with the absence of the sequel, The Second Story, is questionable.- Gameblog.fr

Banishers Ghosts of New Eden is a game that delivers a compelling love story that makes us want to see it reach its conclusion. The problem is that most of the other elements of the game take a backseat to the relationship between Antea and Red. Almost all of the secondary characters are not interesting and the main plot is forgotten in an anthology of problems to solve for the inhabitants of New Eden. This is not helped by a semi-open world whose exploration quickly proves boring. Fortunately, the fights are already proving more gripping, just like the famous Haunting Cases. You feel like a paranormal investigator, who must also make serious decisions that will have real consequences. We ultimately see that it is a game which has lots of good ideas, but which did not know how to execute them all in the right way.- Gameblog.fr

FIFA 21 is not bad but it does not innovate at all the recipe initiated by FIFA 20. Very focused on the attack, the defense suffers from a significant imbalance, leaving the open door to matches filled with goals. It is a transitional opus, leaving known bases so as not to upset the players and thus draw great novelties for FIFA 22.- Gameblog.fr

WRC 2010 seems to be coming back from the dead, at last... Even though some will undoubtedly have trouble getting past its mediocre visuals. Indeed, it's hard not to mention this with GT5 coming up. But despite this less-than average technical side, and lack of weather conditions to spice things up, the game remains fun and consistent in terms of content, modes of play and driving sensations. Its simulation is precise and accessible at the same time, thanks to several settings to choose from. Let's hope next year's edition will correct the visual flaws of this one.- Gameblog.fr
