May 27, 2025Brushes With Death may not be as big and sophisticated as the main scenario, but for being a post-launch DLC, it packs a lot of fun and value for its price point. Add to that the other extra content its patch brought alongside it, and there could hardly be a better time to get into Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, except maybe after the remaining story DLCs come later in the year. If you enjoyed the game but hadn’t given thought to the game’s DLC pass or even just this specific one, this content is most definitely worth the price of admission. You may even find yourself re-loading previous saves to explore the different ways you can approach it.

May 16, 2025The first DLC is a worthy expansion and introduces creative ideas. The new story is almost consistently wonderfully entertaining.

May 16, 2025Brushes with Death isn’t the best part of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but it’s a firm reminder of why we should still be talking about the game when we decide on the best of 2025.

Jul 18, 2025A new grounded and sometimes truly bizarre adventure across the well-known regions of medieval Bohemia sets our beloved Henry of Skaliz on a colourful path created by brushes and strokes of a mysterious painter. He’s not interested in sharing, death follows him wherever he goes and his weird requests produce truly unique scenarios. Alongside a new story came a few gameplay elements such as shield painting, horse racing or even haircuts, which all eagerly await the return of the blacksmith hero.
-
May 16, 2025A pleasant expansion that fits seamlessly into the world of excellent medieval RPG. The story, with a touch of mysticism, explores themes of mental struggle, art, and the power of friendship. It shines especially in its second half through a personal narrative with emotional undertones and two memorable moments. In terms of gameplay, it suffers somewhat from an overreliance on fetch quests and more traditional objectives, but overall, it offers several more enjoyable hours spent wandering through the Liberec and Central Bohemian regions.
-
May 20, 2025Brushes With Death is a low-stakes start to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's post-launch paid DLCs; non-essential but a decent side dish for first-time players.

May 15, 2025Even if you're eager to return to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, I have a hard time enthusiastically recommending that you come back just to play through Brushes With Death on its own. Credit where credit is due: the writing and voice acting are still strong. There are a few inspired and memorable plot moments among the largely simple fetch quests. And I felt satisfied with the way Voyta's canvas turned out. It's not bad at all, it’s simply a bit threadbare as a standalone experience, and it didn’t feel like a strong follow-up to what had come before. I wish I had waited until Henry's big adventure wasn't so fresh in my mind and experienced it woven into a brand-new save file instead, or at least until there’s more than one DLC to split my attention between and make it feel like there were more new stones for me to turn over. That's how I'd encourage you to approach this and the remaining two announced story DLCs for this grand RPG.
