UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER : The Feast of the Wolves is an excellent tribute game but as a video game, it doesn't achieve much. While the gameplay is really enjoyable, the challenges quickly become repetitive, and the game suffers from major technical problems such as clipping and occasional framerate drops. A game for nostalgic gamers and hardcore fans of the anime, who will forgive anything the game can't do right.

Alan Wake 2 is definitely one of the best games of the year as it ridicules the competition on many levels. It is the result of many years of experimentation. Remedy signs here an important episode for the history of the studio, its connected universe and for Alan. A meta game at all levels that will embark us on an adventure that takes to the guts. Story well tied, strong character, careful writing, it has it all.

Super Mario RPG is an excellent remake. The game is atypical and very old school, but has enough quality for us to give it our full attention, especially since the improvements are numerous. Graphic redesign, alignment of the artistic direction of the characters, adjustment of the quality of life... Super Mario RPG will be the perfect gateway for players who have never played an RPG in their life. Accessible and fun, it nevertheless remains interesting thanks to its combo system in combat and its small strategic dimension. Without being a real must-have, Super Mario RPG remains a very good vintage which will certainly have a place in the game library of lovers of the franchise and perhaps even in that of the curious.

With Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Activision has unfortunately proved right all those who have been criticizing the franchise since the dawn of time, with arguments that are sometimes a little excessive. This time, it's impossible to prove them wrong. Under the guise of nostalgia, we're treated to maps we've already seen and heard of, and nothing new, nor any major changes, just to get the ball rolling again. The campaign is short and uneven. There are a few memorable sequences, but they can be counted on the fingers of one hand. As for the zombie mode, it's a simple mix of DMZ and Cold War Zombie thrown together on the new Warzone map. Even if it's not all bad news - the game's multiplayer is pretty solid, and the sensations and gunplay are cool - Activision knows that when we hear you talk about a "premium experience", we don't believe it for a moment. And yet it's a very good customer who's telling you here, not without a certain sadness.

Presented as both a transitional episode and the best in the series, Football Manager 2024 succeeds in this double challenge. Firstly, because it subtly introduces mechanics that are bound to be improved in the years to come. Secondly, because it concentrates the best of the previous opuses, while pushing the level of quality to the maximum. Long live Football Manager... and long live the sequel, gentlemen!

After the very nice Evil Dead The Game, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre proves that we can adapt a legendary work without destroying it. The game is clearly a nice homage to Tobe Hooper's cult Texas Chainsaw Massacre. We find all the ingredients of the feature film between the locations, the objects which become mechanics (chicken cages, bones etc.), the grain of madness that we can have during certain parts and characters who are more careful than in the usual for the genre. Playing as a member of the Family is inevitably easier, but being on the Victim side brings another tension. A good immersion in this universe, and that of asymmetrical horror games, but which suffers from its blatant lack of content, the animations and modeling of the characters, and its too clean image. It would clearly have been necessary to dirty the visuals to further improve the atmosphere. If you're a fan and you start it, you should enjoy your few games, but for how long?

Song of Nunu is a must-have for all League of Legends fans. It adds even more substance to the now canonical LoL universe, and it's a delight to discover the story of Nunu and Willump, but that's not all... Many surprises await you too. For neophytes, the game is the perfect gateway to the universe. Very accessible, perhaps even too much so to the point of forgetting the challenge, Song of Nunu is a truly colorful tale. Freljord, the region depicted here, is magnificent. The art direction is superb, and the work Tequila Works has done to give life and soul to our heroes is remarkable. We become attached to the duo and their story. It's a pity that the gameplay is a little clumsy and imprecise. The staging and environments largely save the day, but the platforming phases are not very exciting. All in all, a fresh and highly enjoyable experience, a very good vintage.

Lords of the Fallen is not without its faults, and sometimes confuses difficulty, vicious level design and total frustration. The game presents itself as a very solid soulslike that, while borrowing heavily from its models, still has its own identity. Playing in two parallel universes is an excellent idea, and technically, it's quite impressive, thanks in particular to the Unreal Engine 5. The art direction is not to be outdone, with superb panoramas, sometimes horrific, but always successful. It's a pity that this second infernal world is also one of the game's sources of frustration. An ill-adjusted difficulty peak, a level design that's sometimes too severe and a problem with the distribution of checkpoints mean that the game often gets on our nerves. But if you're looking for a difficult game that's beautiful to cry over, and which relies on truly fluid and enjoyable gameplay, Lords of the Fallen could well be just what you're looking for.

In its current state, it is impossible to recommend Cities Skylines 2, as the game proves to be unplayable, even on a very powerful machine. The game has enormous potential and could score much higher after the necessary corrections. It is important to note that this is not an early access version, but a "final" version that is being sold for 49.99 euros. Players have the right to expect a smooth and complete gaming experience for this price, and unfortunately, Cities Skylines 2 does not meet these expectations in its current state.

Ghostrunner 2 is a must-have for all fans of challenges and fast FPS. Be careful, it is clearly not for everyone. We are talking here about a fairly demanding game in which you simply must not take a single damage. However, the formula is at its peak here. This second part goes even faster and further than its predecessor. We are constantly stimulated, we are never bored for a single second and it is very difficult to switch off. Ghostrunner 2 also achieves the feat of never frustrating thanks to clever checkpoints and a freedom of action that leaves room for experimentation. The only downside is the motorbike phases which are sorely lacking in precision with the keyboard/mouse combo and can be quite difficult. But if that's the price to pay to have fun all the rest of the time, we sign.

The Metal Gear Master Collection Vol.1 is nothing less than the ultimate compilation for all fans of the license. As its name suggests, it is only the first part of a collection, and therefore does not include all the games in the franchise. Nevertheless, it allows fans and the curious to play the first 5 games, notably MGS 1, 2 and 3, the triplet released on PS1 and PS2. Legendary episodes that, in essence, haven't aged a day, but which in form still show their age. If nostalgia speaks to you, if you're a hyper-fan or if you've had the audacity to miss out on the Metal Gear license, now's the time. On the other hand, don't expect anything more than simple ports and a ton of digital goodies that will only speak to lovers of the franchise. If you were hoping for remasters worthy of the PS5 or remakes, you'll have to wait for MGS Delta (3 remake), which will arrive much later.

A rich and colorful adventure which sells us dreams and which takes us into its fantastic and dreamlike universe. A platform game that does a lot of good in the landscape and which as a bonus brings a real boost to a franchise which had a tendency to rely too much on its achievements. Assassin's Creed Mirage was full of promises. In the end, it's more of a tribute than a true return to its roots. The game offers a melting pot of the latest episodes, stripping out all the RPG progression and its open world, leaving us with the most basic things the license has to offer. It does manage to give a nostalgic vibe in its best moments, but this throwback is combined with a lack of modernity, originality and technical shortcomings that are hard to forgive in 2023, especially in terms of AI and parkour. It's not bad in itself, but it clearly doesn't live up to its promise. Hopefully, Ubisoft will be able to turn this around in the future, because while Mirage leaves us wanting more, it clearly whets our appetites.

Phantom Liberty is a very solid extension. Its storyline keeps us on the edge of our seats from start to finish, backed up by a scathing mise-en-scène. The DLC draws a great deal of inspiration from action cinema, and exploits every string with brio. It's all carried off by the presence of Idris Elba, an ultra-charismatic actor who shines on screen here. It's just a pity that his character, like other interesting supporting characters, is not exploited to the full. Similarly, Phantom Liberty as a whole doesn't go far enough. Leaving aside Update 2.0, which is available to all without the need to buy DLC, the new features can be counted on the fingers of one hand. The post-Elden Ring era was going to be difficult, that much was certain. FromSoftware's work on Armored Core 6 is bound to be compared to that of GOTY 2021, and unfortunately it pales into insignificance. At no point do you get a sense of the studio's maturity or expertise. Armored Core 6 could have been anyone's game. A messy title, not very pretty and very repetitive. Immortals of Aveum, by virtue of its story, has obvious appeal. It's the game of a lifetime for a developer who knows what he's talking about, the raison d'être of a brand new studio, an independent AAA that isn't really one... For the gamer, it's a very edgy FPS that's off the beaten track while still offering a familiar feel. Ascend Studio's title makes for a great time if you put aside its obvious technical problems, which unfortunately do it a bit of a disservice. But the fact remains that Immortals of Aveum has a lot going for it. There's a rich universe to discover, a whole world to explore, and some nerve-wracking if slightly chaotic combat... It's a shame that the technical side isn't always up to scratch on the PS5, because this would be a more than solid magical FPS, but as it stands it's sorely lacking in polish. But that doesn't mean it's a failure, just a date that could have gone a little better, but that we enjoyed nonetheless.

Blasphemous 2 is a success. If you enjoyed the first journey, you'll love this new pilgrimage. And if you're a first-timer, don't panic - you don't need to have played the first game to try this adventure. Blasphemous 2 stands on its own. Part Metroidvania, part Souls-like, the game takes the best of both worlds and builds its own personal mechanics in the process. The result is more than convincing. The gameplay is accessible but demanding, the difficulty is present but not insurmountable, and exploration is a pleasure, even if it's easy to get lost. There's no doubt that Blasphemous 2 is a rather striking game, if only for its proposition and its universe, which deals with mythology and religion in a way that we don't often see. The resulting art direction and bestiary are also top-notch, despite a few repeats from the first episode. The whole thing is bathed in an ear-watering OST and boasts top-notch pixel art. After an exhilarating boss fight, you can find yourself loading a game because of a huge bug or struggling on the next confrontation because of imprecise targeting. Getting around in the open areas is nice, but there's so little of interest to see that it's frustrating. Finally, to have a great time on Atlas Fallen, it's not all up to you. Between the failed infiltration and dull fights, Redfall leaves us with a particularly bitter taste. The desire to loot epic equipment, to discover the bosses of the game (ultimately too rare) and the coop are all reasons that prevent the controller from falling from our hands. But with each confrontation - as insipid as it is ridiculous because of a strawberry AI - and with each new uninviting objective, one wonders what we are still doing there. So, we continue, to see if what awaits us is worth it, to realize that it is not. Are you looking for a very good FPS to do solo? Redfall is definitely not for you. Are you a fan of vampires and want an affordable experience to do with friends thanks to the Game Pass? Arkane Austin's game will fill you up for a very short time, at best.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor is in every way superior to Fallen Order. A real big sequel extremely generous on all levels, which multiplies the novelties. Whether it's in terms of structure, by offering infinitely larger regions than the first opus, or even open worlds that can be explored, or in terms of gameplay. Cal may be an accomplished Jedi from the start, but his rise to power is clear throughout the game. Battles, as well as exploration, benefit from a ton of new features that totally revitalize the recipe and still leave plenty of room for manoeuvre for a possible sequel. The only downside is that Jedi Survivor is so easy on the narrative that it completely undermines the game and its dramatic dimension. Some twists and characters are shoehorned in and also lose some of their beauty. An excellent game that doesn't lack much to be unmissable.

Dead Island 2 is a pleasant game, but far from being memorable. It is as often fun as it is boring. The average quests don't fully engage us and the game fails to make us want to explore. Fortunately, the second part of the game is better, both in terms of level design and scenario. Too bad the ending is disappointing.

Crime Boss could have been a nice experience, especially since there is no 400 Payday-like. There was clearly a niche to be taken while surfing on that nice cast of actors, but nothing was done. Minimal service, failed service with this. Since between the bad ideas of game design, the absent direction, the failed dubbing and the far from great graphics, it's hard to recommend it. Especially since for less than twenty euros, Payday 2 does a better job, despite its age.

The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners 2 is not a bad game, but a bad sequel. It's certainly entertaining and successful in many ways, but it's no different from the first game. Yes, it's a sequel directly related to the first episode, but still. The new features can be counted on the fingers of one hand and are not sufficiently marked to really add value. Except maybe the night sorties, which are fun, a bit creepy and devilishly stressful. A very honest and fun PSVR 2 game, but not essential.

With this big update, Resident Evil Village is easily one of the spearheads of the PSVR 2. An essential experience for horror and ultra immersive game lovers. Capcom has done a masterful job and has taken advantage of the opportunity to offer new gameplay that is entirely optimised for Sony's headset. And the result is striking. Despite its few flaws, Village takes advantage of VR to give itself a new lease on life. Even the most reluctant players, who didn't find the original game impressive, will be taken on board in this nightmarish adventure. Some sequences are more gripping than ever. In short, with the PSVR 2, Resident Evil Village is more than ever an essential.

Meet Your Maker is a unique multiplayer game that mixes dungeon crawler, tower defense and community creation in a very interesting way. The recipe is addictive, and you'll be able to come back to it from time to time while pecking away. The title also has a great potential to evolve, especially when you know the studio Behaviour, but as it is, you will unfortunately have the feeling that you have done the trick in a few dozen hours. All the more so as its artistic direction, deliberately sad (post-apo obliges), will not have any argument to impress you. An amusing game then, that you should keep in the corner of your eye if you don't give in to temptation right away.

Road 96 Mile 0 is a rather nice dive into the dystopian universe. The prequel suffers from its classical aspect and loses everything that made its predecessor so special and instead brings musical sections that are rather boring and imperfect on consoles. ANNO 1800 succeeds in making itself playable and enjoyable on home consoles. It's rather beautiful, and the gameplay with the controller is successful, although it will take a little time to get used to it. On the other hand, if the game is nice to the eye, it has a few technical glitches that will make the less patient players complain. Some of the game's loading times are quite long, textures sometimes have trouble displaying when zooming in and the framerate seems to be slowed down quite often. It's also a shame that the game is not as well supplied as its PC version. It lacks quite a bit of content. And even though you'll already have enough to play for many hours, you can't help but be disappointed. To cut a long story short, Postal 4 is a big joke. A joke sold for 40€. A very bad game that, as a bonus, is obviously happy to be so. There is nothing to save. It's not provocative, it's not satirical and it's certainly not "outrageously funny" as the studio tries to oversell it. In reality, Postal 4 is a dumping ground for bad ideas that are poorly interwoven and in bad taste. The whole thing is crushed under a bunch of bugs too numerous to enjoy and graphics that are too good to look at. In the end, apart from the sporadic presence of Jon St John's voice, there's nothing that could save the game from absolute ruin.

We would have loved to like Project Zero 4: The Mask of the Lunar Eclipse which, let's face it, is still above the fifth installment. But now, by choosing the path of the remaster, Koei Tecmo prevents the game from erasing its defects of yesteryear. Between the race which is akin to walking, the worries in moving, the slowness to pick up even an object, the title drags more than a ball. As it stands, like Project Zero 5, it would have needed a remake. Besides that, the catchy scenario, the atmosphere and even the basic concept are more flattering arguments. A game that is primarily aimed at fans who would not have had the opportunity to make this episode, and who can now enjoy it in VOSTFR with a very good Japanese soundtrack.

How to rate Powerwash Simulator? If we are factual and rely on purely mechanical criteria, the game is not up to scratch. It doesn't offer any crazy gameplay, only varies its environments, and is not a technical showcase. But if you look at the game from another angle, it is certainly one of the most satisfying on the market. A fresh pellet that clearly allows us to clear our heads alone or with others. So yes, you clearly have to be a fan of this kind of UFO experience, but if you're even a little bit curious, chances are you'll fall into the high-pressure cleaning downward spiral too. Atomic Heart is not just another Russian Bioshock, although it certainly draws a lot of inspiration from it. Mundfish's game actually has a deeper lore than it appears and is interesting. The stakes won't break any bones, but they are more than enough to keep us on our toes. Our hero and his sidekick are talkative, but never heavy-handed and the game constantly oscillates between drama, reflection and humour, and it works. Visually, it's a hit. The art direction is insane and technically, it's superb on PS5. The details are legion, and the game impresses on many levels, notably with its special effects (light, pyrotechnics, blur, etc.) but also with its animations, some of which are truly amazing. So, yes, there are a few glitches like a handful of not-so-great textures, residual bugs or rhythm problems, especially during the cutscenes which are often very average, or even failed for some. Wild Hearts is indeed a serious competitor to Monster Hunter. If the game is not so different from its model, the form is another story. The Karakuri completely change the dynamics of hunting and exploring and make the whole thing very dynamic. It's extremely generous, there's plenty to play for many, many hours and it's well written, as surprising as that is for the genre. Alas, even if Wild Hearts has a beautiful Japanese art direction, technically it's clearly not up to scratch. Not only are there glitches almost everywhere, but the game can be very ugly at times, especially because of its droopy textures. A few patches will therefore be necessary to get the most out of it.
