Responding to an alarm call from a neighbouring base, Jack arrives at a dark and desolate Fort Solis. With storm warnings imminent he heads inside to make contact. As the night grows longer, events escalate, spiral out of control and the mystery of what happened to the crew begins to reveal itself.

The storms arrive, limiting Jack’s escape as he looks to hold out until morning arrives.

Fort Solis is a condensed narrative thriller set on Mars, with exploration, nerve racking set pieces, and a deep plot to discover.

Fort Solis is told across five chapters, each roughly an hour in length.

Like a Netflix series, Fort Solis can be binged in one intense session, or played chapter by chapter like an episodic TV show.

The vision of Fallen Leaf, an indie team of games industry veterans, was to create a hybrid piece of media, emphasizing narration and immersion.

Fort Solis delivers an immersive cinematic experience, enriched by exceptional voice acting, stunning graphics, and elements such as audio and video that enhance the narrative. Exploration, collectibles, and the gradual unfolding of the plot contribute to the suspense, while excellent visuals and animation are highlighted, although movement can occasionally be stuttered. Despite being relatively short, Fort Solis offers a memorable journey into its unique universe.

Fort Solis is a tremendous proposal to turn on the console or PC, sit down with our partner and/or friends, and enjoy as if we were watching a series.

Fort Solis is a thrilling narrative adventure. From start to finish, the tension is there, as is the desire to discover the truth about what's going on in the complex established on Mars. The characters make the journey even more compelling, thanks to the outstanding performances of the actors who play their roles. Unfortunately, the title concludes far too quickly and without ever satisfying our thirst for knowledge. The main plot only skims over the reasons for the tragedy, and it will take a great deal of willpower and dedication to try and understand the mysteries of Fort Solis. A bold choice, but one that's sure to divide.

Fort Solis is a moderately successful first effort from Fallen Leaf. It scores points for atmosphere and good voice work, but suffers from clashing tonality. Tension is often severed before it takes hold, and the experience wraps up before exploring threads sufficiently. I understand why the scope is limited mostly to the critical path, but there were numerous threads along the way I wanted desperately to be able to tug at. Fort Solis isn’t exactly blazing any new trails, but there’s an entertaining few hours to be had here for fans of narrative adventures.

Fort Solis offers a cinematic experience that unfortunately creaks due to a writing without particular flashes. Exploring the space station in search of recordings and documents that shed light on the events of the story proves to be not very exciting. However, the developers of Fallen Leaf have built an admirable graphic framework in Unreal Engine 5, with richly detailed scenarios and realistic lighting (there is no shortage of frame rate fluctuations). To counterbalance, at least in part, the uncertainties of the narrative we find the excellent interpretations of Troy Baker, Roger Clark and Julia Brown, who make every exchange plausible with a variety of expressions worthy of much larger productions than this first work, which in any case should have dared a little more.

Fort Solis is an atmospheric experience with impressive graphics and a slow, but interesting central narrative. But as a game it falls short on many parameters, with low interactivity, shoddy quick time events and exploration that rarely feels rewarding.

Honestly, even after writing all these words about Fort Solis, I still feel like I’ve only brushed the surface of why it’s such a terrible game. It may look nice, but there’s literally nothing of value here. It’s a waste of time, money, and hard drive space, and you’re better off forgetting its existence.

Story is layered and complex offering more and more as you dig deeper and you explore the different motivations and struggles of each character. The Graphics are out of this world! Best game ive played visually and looks genuinely "Next Gen" which I had yet to experience on PS5. The audio and voice acting is again some of the best ive seen or heard! My PS5 handled the game without any trouble and I played it on my couch while my girlfriend looked on both immersed in the events as they unfolded! Not my usual game but I feel like I'm going to explore a lot more titles in the narrative genre now! 10/10 Expand

(performance-7) pop-in. frame drops big time, clumsy controls (gameplay-6) you walk and thats it, no fast walk or jog, and push a couple buttons through the whole game. the map was awful and the yellow dot positioning was confusing. You walk in slow circles lost in this ship which gets very boring. (story-8)generic space story but it kept me hooked
(voice acting-10)these few characters carried the whole game by their voice acting.
for $25 its definitely worth the money to have 4-5 hours of a movie game experience.

With this stunning experience comes monotany, repetitiveness and a thriller that, for me, lost all intensity after about an hour. Though the game is beautiful, graphically, the lack of interactivity, slow movement-speed and general repetitiveness had me boored. Im not sure why a dev would release a "thriller" that has so little happening in it, it actually leaves one bored. Where a grand narrative could take place, instead I was left with annoyance and dissapointment. A slow burn of a story is grand, provided the building of tension is well done. Yet I felt the tension peaked around 90 min where upon it flatlined. Maybe Im not the target-audience, maybe there is a silent majority for whom "walking simulator" isnt a pejorative. If so, I certainly dont count myself among them. Expand
