    (Graphics-9)PS5 it looks good
(performance-7) pop-in. frame drops big time, clumsy controls (gameplay-6) you walk and thats it, no fast walk or jog, and push a couple buttons through the whole game. the map was awful and the yellow dot positioning was confusing. You walk in slow circles lost in this ship which gets very boring. (story-8)generic space story but it kept me hooked

(voice acting-10)these few characters carried the whole game by their voice acting.
for $25 its definitely worth the money to have 4-5 hours of a movie game experience.

If one enjoys walking simulators then look no further. With this stunning experience comes monotany, repetitiveness and a thriller that, for me, lost all intensity after about an hour. Im not sure why a dev would release a "thriller" that has so little happening in it, it actually leaves one bored. Where a grand narrative could take place, instead I was left with annoyance and dissapointment. A slow burn of a story is grand, provided the building of tension is well done. Yet I felt the tension peaked around 90 min where upon it flatlined. Maybe Im not the target-audience, maybe there is a silent majority for whom "walking simulator" isnt a pejorative. If so, I certainly dont count myself among them. Expand

Once again, poor performance issues totally distract from what could have been a great experience. Neither quality nor performance mode are an enjoyable experience.

Fort Solis had me hooked right at the jump because of Roger Clarke and Troy Baker. 2 legendary voice actors and the setting was perfect. However, the game is sadly taken back by terrible walking speed and frame stutters. The voice acting and the story are very well put together and they were so close yet so far away from a stellar game. The absolute worst part I faced was a game-breaking bug where I obtained the level 5 access card but was completely locked out of the greenhouse. No white circle shows up for me and every way I take the greenhouses are all locked. What a bummer to have to start over cause of this nonsense and also the video log trophy is glitched. I guess I won't be finishing the game. Definitely not doing all that over at the painfully slow walking speed good god Expand

Good graphics and mostly good voice over work. Okay narrative with an unsatisfying conclusion. Frustratingly slow character movement, which often didn’t align with the events of the game. Inconsistent QTEs thrown into cutscenes, often with little time to react. If a game wants to be a walking simulator, fine. Not really for me, but they have their place. If a game wants to be a walking simulator, fine. Not really for me, but they have their place. But don’t waste my time with slow movement, and establish your mechanics well so that surprise QTEs are at least somewhat expected. Even for fans of this genre I have a very hard time recommending it. The story itself is hardly anything fresh, and at times is littered with cliche and nonsensical developments. Expand

Fort Solis is more like a movie than a game. Still it's definitely worth experiencing.

More a movie than a game, Fort Solis surprises with top-notch acting and creates a pretty decent atmosphere, but doesn’t offer any real challenge. It focuses on exploration but the protagonist’s sluggish movement effectively discourages it. This walking simulator will either captivate you enough to finish the story in one sitting or bore you in the first fifteen minutes.

Great performances and some good writing, but never tops the opening scare of how much money it’s asking for four hours of frustratingly limited activity. [Issue#32, p.89]
