Mar 30, 2023Postal 4 is a game that should be avoided. I can see now why some console makers did not want this travesty on their machines. This game is not fun or entertaining at all. Some of the voice work is decent and I laughed maybe twice in my entire playthrough, but on the whole it is embarrassing at best and offensive at worst. This is not a game that succeeds in its offensiveness and instead feels worse because when they attempt to be edgy it comes across as desperate.

Apr 17, 2023Postal 4 runs terribly, but maybe that’s the point. It is, at all times, replete with either dated, juvenile, or scatological humour, but I guess that could be the point? Postal 4 sucks, and if that’s the point, then Running With Scissors deserve some sort of Andy Kaufman award. The game costs $40. For me, the final score came down to the question of ‘would I actually pay for this?’ Absolutely not. This was awful. It could very well be a 10 in your eyes, but this is the easiest 2 I’ll ever give.

Mar 20, 2023To cut a long story short, Postal 4 is a big joke. A joke sold for 40€. A very bad game that, as a bonus, is obviously happy to be so. There is nothing to save. It's not provocative, it's not satirical and it's certainly not "outrageously funny" as the studio tries to oversell it. In reality, Postal 4 is a dumping ground for bad ideas that are poorly interwoven and in bad taste. The whole thing is crushed under a bunch of bugs too numerous to enjoy and graphics that are too good to look at. In the end, apart from the sporadic presence of Jon St John's voice, there's nothing that could save the game from absolute ruin.

PLAYSep 17, 2023Even if everything functioned as intended, however, the script itself feels completely toothless and is filled with unsuccessful attempts to satirise videogame violence that wouldn’t have even landed in the late ’90s (seriously, the jabs at Joe Lieberman would be just as embarrassing if anybody knew who he was). Even its potential saving grace, the simple pleasure of rampaging through an open world, has been entirely undone by the dire civilian AI which sees them stand around gormlessly in most situations.
