In addition to telling a story with more mature tones than usual, this time the Japanese developer wanted to take a few more risks, completely revolutionizing its historic and already profound combat system to create a formula capable of mixing turn-based strategy to the frenzy of action. The result is astonishing and, as demonstrated in the past by Square Enix with the first two chapters of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, it really says a lot about the incredible potential of the hybridization between the two "currents". Everything is finally framed by the powerful steps forward offered by the new Nihon Falcom engine, thanks to which the universe of The Legend of Heroes appears more lush and colorful than ever. If we add to this that the product marks the beginning of a new narrative arc and is therefore perfect for approaching the series, you no longer have any excuses to continue avoiding one of the best JRPG sagas around.

Even if we would have preferred the first chapter instead of the more recent PSP title, this collection contains one of the most important legacies of the videogame industry to old gamers and new generations.

As usual the force of the series is all in the script.

The online really shines, since it's able to offer something new in Warzones and something really solid and classic with Arena mode. On the other hand, the campaign focuses too much on cooperative Covenant killing, and much less on the quality of the script, and that, considering the precious heritage of the saga, is a real shame.

Except for the minor problems encountered, if you want a metroidvania with innovative solutions, head into the distorted world of Sundered, thus supporting a software house that we'll hear about for a long time.

The new episode of this peculiar series continues on the winning path undertaken with Dual Destinies. The undoubted charisma of the characters helps to support a strong and well-written script, and the process that accompanies the resolution of cases in consistency with very few holes in logical steps.

Technicalities aside, XCOM 2 is an amazing game, a great strategy game, and we strongly recommend you to try it out.

A shame that the PVP still needs care and attention. As for the end game, we'll have to wait for the next future.

The magic of Bridge of Spirits is all here: in its sweet magnetism, in its balance between gameplay and storytelling, in the echo of those adventure games of yesteryear, where simplicity moved hand in hand with refinement. Gorgeous to look at and rewarding to play, Kena is a debut work that has rarely been seen in recent years: that the independent sector can be guided by its spirit.

It's an incredible remaster, even better than what the fans have dreamed of for a long time. Brought back to life with great care, it's still the best Zelda out there.

Monday Night Combat is a title to have if you love FPS in third person dedicated to multiplayer. There are some defects, such as the paucity of maps, but this is a game that knows how to enjoy immensely.

The Unfinished Swan is not a common game but definitely a work of art. A pearl of game and visual design that no one must leave behind.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE has proved to be a surprising game. The gameplay is definitely the most interesting part of it, because it's frantic and really fun. We particularly recommend it to all of JRPG players in general, especially to fans of Persona and the Shin Megami Tensei series.

The original game surely had flaws, but it also showed some interesting and sound ideas in level and game design. This remaster is a good chance to get back to it, while waiting for the sequel.

Total War: Warhammer III is a rich title, full of deep mechanics and that will keep you glued to the screen for dozens of hours, prey to the classic mantra "another turn and then cut". The strategic proposal of the Creative Assembly guys requires dedication and patience, especially if you are new to the saga, but once you have fully understood the mechanics you will find yourself a playful experience capable of offering large doses of satisfaction. With an effective formula consistent with the standards of the series, supported by a highly respected graphics sector, the latest work by the English studio therefore proves to live up to expectations, as well as fully supporting the heavy legacy of the Warhammer brand.

The whole thing is "propped up" by a good-looking narrative structure and an eye-catching style.

Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent starting point for the Square Enix saga, which after several missteps seems to have found the right balance between the tradition of the franchise and a blatantly more mature new ethic. By focusing everything on a complex narrative and dedicating maniacal care to the construction of the world, Yoshida's dream team has however neglected the rhythm of the story, which in addition to reserving some less inspired moments, even slows down the growth of the character.

Yakuza 0 is probably the best episode of the series. A gaming experience which you should try once in your lifetime. A great crime-story which will not disappoint you.

Birth by sleep is the best Kingdom Hearts' Spin-off. With three different adventures, an entertaining multiplayer mode and ad straight gameplay, Square Enix delivers a great title for PSP.

For all fans of the discipline in question and racing games in general, this Dirt Rally 2.0 is really an almost obligatory stop. If only there had been virtual reality support, it would probably have been the perfect rally game.

The explosive offering in this latest DLC will, in short, satisfy all fans of the series and re-energize passion for a long time thanks to a play map run by orange slides and dotted with science fiction acrobatics capable of challenging any law of physics.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada lets the player dispose of tens of thousands people at a time in battle, and the micro-management is no less complex. It appears as an excellent digital transposition of the original boardgame, and it also represents a great first test for the newborn development studio – Tindalos Interactive.

If you are looking for an original VR FPS, not overly complex and extremely enjoyable with its fast-paced gameplay, Compound is the right choice.

Dungeon crawling at its nineties finest: Legend of Grimrock is a compelling and clever old-school RPG, full of strange enemies to kill and riddles to solve.

As anticipated in the introduction, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is a great DLC, an ambitious expansion that greatly enriches the base experience. The product significantly improves and expands the combat system, the movement system and even introduces a new offline mode based on the use of companions controlled by artificial intelligence, so as to further enhance the gaming experience. On the bestiary front, the new entries of the DLC are fewer than those of Iceborne and concentrated in the final phase of the main campaign. The already announced post-launch support, which apparently will last until 2023, will further expand Sunbreak's offer, so as to make it even more mammoth than it is today.

CIV V is not a brand new start for the series, but some of the new features are really interesting, adding intensity to the main experience.

In The Alters many souls coexist. It is a strategy game, a third-person survival game and an action game. It is a title with a strong narrative imprint, with an exciting plot and characters of great charisma, but it also has an effective gameplay formula and solid gameplay loops. Almost everything in the game makes sense: the story, which also takes up the classic themes of Western science fiction, is enjoyable and keeps you in suspense until the end; the management phases within the base are satisfying and push you to carefully manage the (little) time and (many) available resources, to be wisely divided between main objectives and pleasant secondary quests. Only the external exploration phases leave a bitter taste in the mouth, in which 11 Bit pays for its more than ten-year specialization in genres where adventure and action are only side elements - when not completely non-existent.

Mortal Kombat returns after four years of absence, flooding our screens with an incalculable amount of blood and ultra-violence. The eleventh chapter of the saga signed by Netherrealm and published by Warner Bros. Games is a concentration of new mechanics and classic elements, masterfully united under the sign of an above-average production.

Ultimately the title is highly recommended to those who have not played the adventure within Bowser, while we suggest a little caution to those who had already lived it.
