It's exactly what Miyazaki and the rest of his team promised. A dark, sick universe where you'll be constantly spiraling. It has courage, as it takes the legacy of the Souls saga in a new direction, it has an unique Victorian style, and it has one of the most impressive settings ever, as Yharnam will really stick with you. It isn't perfect, maybe rough around some technical and online edges, but it's still the quintessential action RPG of the modern age.- Everyeye.it

With a bit of extra care – or better, with less focus on everything that's not combat and simply more triumphant action – Astral Chain could have been even a bigger bang. Killzone 2 is a rock solid First Person Shooter, developed with care and essential for the PS3 Line Up. It’s a peculiar title, realistic in the approach, dark and gloomy, conveying a strange perspective about war and obedience. The single player experience is linear and not that long, but the multiplayer is perfect, stressing a tactical aspect that is not so diffused in the other exponents of the genre.- Everyeye.it

A carousel of horrors that never stops spinning. A whirlwind expedition into the most perverse meanders of art. A work of great authorship and visual virtuosity which has the merit of being as courageous as it is original. It's a survival horror, yes, but mostly pro forma. Deep down it's something else. It is an experience that tangles the player's expectations, continuously knotting them so that unpredictability reigns supreme. It plays with artistic forms, with the concept of reality and multidimensionality, and does so using both the interactive medium and other communicative means of the modern era. Once this unconventional inspiration has been accepted and assimilated, according to the writer, the weight of the playful uncertainties, of a balance that is not always perfect between narrative and gameplay, of a few too many technical ripples is reduced. I like the idea of rewarding experimentalism above all, the mix of genres and eclectic suggestions. I like Sam Lake's arrogance in wanting to leave his mark at all costs, with the careless desire to challenge conventions, more than he has ever done before. I like to think I live in a reality where Alan Wake 2 exists.- Everyeye.it

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a very valid title, which once again demonstrates the enormous commitment made by the Square Enix team in the reconstruction and expansion of the seventh final fantasy. Although this second part of the journey of Cloud and his companions was not as "unknown" as promised, we appreciated all the narrative elements devised by the screenwriters of the Japanese giant, with the sole exception of the final chapter, which unfortunately proved to be lacking in several ways. wait. That said, the action RPG remains one of the most engaging and satisfying works of the House of Chocobo, which for the occasion has strengthened the role-playing component with the introduction of crafting, synergistic actions and an affinity system that will certainly be perfected with the arrival of the third and final part of the Remake Trilogy. However, the exploration is the most convincing aspect of the package, since outside of Midgar the albeit dying world of Final Fantasy VII has opened up to show us a good part of its wonders. On the downside, the technical sector is unfortunately mainly linked to the quality standards of the last generation. We will therefore have to wait for the next episode to truly enter the next-gen and witness the definitive rebirth of Final Fantasy VII.- Everyeye.it

Bayonetta 3 is Pure Platinum again. Technical uncertainties partially weaken the visual appeal, but do not sufficiently reduce the overall audiovisual footprint and do not prevent the adventure from achieving excellence. The third chapter of the saga is a continuous discovery, a fireworks show dedicated especially to fans of the Witch of Umbra. In support of a flair and a variety of very high thickness stands a highly calculated gameplay, a combination of controlled chaos and trotting spectacularity. The talented Japanese team has created its greatest work and, beyond what will be the reception of the general public, has given shape to a stylistic and gameplay masterpiece, capable of synthesizing the needs of players with almost opposite characteristics. Guilty Gear Strive is the new beat 'em up paradigm, by art sector, online infrastructure and balance between the various elements of the gameplay. The few defects found are mostly a consequence of too short development times, and will probably be fixed over time. A title suitable for beginners, but challenging for experts, with a solid online infrastructure and a non-playable, yet smooth and well-written story mode. We are undoubtedly facing a milestone in the fighting game, a product to be appreciated and loved in all its facets. Put aside any reluctance and let yourself be taken by the hand by the rich tutorial modes, you will not be disappointed.- Everyeye.it

Vampire Survivors is a surprising and well-packaged title, supported by a formula capable of kidnapping the user to drag him into a continuous succession of high-intensity pyrotechnic battles. By putting a simple but effective gameplay loop at the center of the proposal, Poncle has built an experience full of reward mechanics, expertly administered to push the user into a tunnel made of addiction and fun. Son of a talent for game design that we hope will continue to amaze us in the years to come, Vampire Survivors is therefore a title that is absolutely worth trying, especially considering the negligible cost of Luca Galante's work.- Everyeye.it

Tekken 8 is one of the most aesthetically pleasing fighting games on the market. The title has been taken care of down to the smallest detail and features a simplified combat system, while building on the very solid foundations of its predecessor. A varied roster and a first-rate single player component will guarantee endless hours of fun for every type of player. It's a shame for a few too many stumbles in the online component, which partially compromises a product that is absolutely excellent from every other point of view. Kill the Brickman is a game that's nothing short of surprising. One, two, three, ten, twenty games, always the same and always different. You're searching for the perfect synergy between perks in true roguelike style, the pinpoint-precise bounce like in classic brickbreakers, the most spectacular and powerful projectile like in a Doom level. The adjective that better than any other could describe Blue Prince is "immense". A procedural puzzle game, roguelite in nature, reinvented starting from the mechanics of board games and transformed into a videogame with an exciting exploratory factor, which invites you to take pen and paper to always have the clues needed to solve the puzzles. The challenges posed on the chessboard of the mansion of Mt. Holly are revealed naturally, allowing you to admire not only the extreme variety and elegance of the puzzles, many of which are directly connected to the game structure itself, but also an incredible quantity, at times disturbing, just like a full-bodied narration that is not afraid to transcend the limits of reality.- Everyeye.it

The sexiest virtual lady in the videogame industry is no longer Lara Croft. Bayonetta is a well packed game that mixes a beautiful, semi-naked, woman, tons of crazy action and a stunning artistic and graphic package. Platinum Games gave life at the greatest "pure" action game in this generation.- Everyeye.it

Halo 4 is a masterpiece. The storytelling is mature and comes with a deep and perfect character design. Despite the fact that the campaign is not mind-blowing (only 6 hours in duration) 343 Industries' first iteration boosts up multiplayer, giving fans and other gamers a completely new and refined Halo experience.- Everyeye.it

With a surprising overall performance to be his first commercial work (he had already experimented with this free-of-play Where the Goats are), Cardenas gives us a small but complete artistic treatise in the form of an interactive experience, succeeding in a single stroke on stage a fierce criticism of traditional gaming structures and to enhance the school of subtractive design, describing with a bittersweet and poignant approach to the life of new generations.- Everyeye.it
