It's a fantastic return to the roots of RPGing on PC. Incredibly deep, to the point where discovering every outcome of the story will require hundreds of hours. It's fun and engaging to play. Everyone with a sweet tooth for fantasy and roleplay should consider this game, as it's a true masterpiece from Obsidian.

Despite some occasional and physiological qualitative fluctuations, the title always remains at excellent levels, continuing to testify to the strength of a game design as imaginative as it is effective, enhanced by a great artistic direction that enhances the merits of the story at the center of the campaign.

Super Street Fighter is not just an expensive add-on. An impressive number of characters and many gameplay improvements make it a strongly desirable beat'em up.

The story mode might be predictable, and there might still be issues with the online play, but NBA 2K16 is one of the best sports simulations out there.

The Single Player is far away from perfection. It lacks drama, and the pace isn't that high. But, as usual, Bungie delivers a complete multiplayer experience. Thanks to FireFight and to the new game modes, Reach is one of the best online FPS, and it will last for years.

Half-Life: Alyx is the new benchmark for future VR products. More generally, it is a magnificent game, the worthy heir of an immortal saga: an adventure that has nothing to envy among those episodes that have contributed to mark the history of gaming.

For the first time, we could almost say that the Nintendo brawler has reached the saturation point, beyond which it is really difficult to think about what future episodes might hold.

In the same interview quoted at the beginning, Shigeru Miyamoto guaranteed: "The Pikmin teams are always busy with the next chapter". We hope that with this fourth episode, the Nintendo series will finally reach a large audience in Europe as well. Obviously, the genre it belongs to makes Pikmin an IP far from the commercial potential of other Kyoto giants, such as Mario or The Legend of Zelda, but for our part we can't wait to find out what Pikmin 5 will come up with.

Bioware is back with sheer passion and love for its work. It demonstrates so offering a new way for players to enjoy strategic RPGs, with a battle system that merges action and tactics, and it plays smoothly whether on PC or consoles. Add to this an incredible amount of gameplay, free roaming and an interesting intrigue, and what you get is one of the best games of this year.

FIFA 17 is an amazing game. It combines a simulative and refined gameplay to an incredible set of game modes. This year, Ultimate Team is interesting and well-structured, and the career mode is the best offline experience that the genre has to offer. The technical performance is certainly effective, thanks to the new engine.

Blood & Wine is hands down one the best expansions in the whole videogame history. Thousands of quests, a new fascinating region to explore, original gameplay mechanics. And it brings solid improvements to the user interface and the combat system. There wouldn't have been a better way to say goodbye to the Witcher.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is exactly what we expected it to be: a magnificent and elaborate game, full of secrets waiting to be unlocked. The joys of exploring play a role as crucial as the writing, which is able to create a deep and original plot. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a masterpiece: another exclusive for Nintendo Switch that you simply can’t miss.

A narrative masterpiece.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is a monumental work, perfectly balanced in length and pace of play, with an engaging combat system and a progression system among the best in its category. Equipped with an exciting story, full of twists and a profound final message, it will bewitch anyone who decides to embark on Expedition 33. We wholeheartedly recommend it to any fan of "Japanese-style" RPGs.

This edition really comes with enhancements, so that it's not just a great porting, but a great classic RPG experience overall.

Guerrilla Games did it. Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of the best Open-World games of this generation. It's a wonderful action-RPG set in a vast and unforgettable universe, with a solid (but conventional) plot and - most of all - challenging gameplay.

Elden Ring is the sum of FromSoftware's experience, poetics and playful approach: a title in which the undisputed skills of the team converge and explode.

Mark of the ninja is one of the best stealth games we have ever played. Arrived on steam, no PC gamer should miss it.

Guild Wars 2 is the game that fans of MMO have been waiting for, but is also the occasion for the new players looking for a new incredible experience. Funny, complete and free of subscription fee.

The best Call of Duty since the first Modern Warfare.

Hades was an undisputed masterpiece eleven months ago on PC and Nintendo Switch, and is reconfirmed as such also on the PlayStation and Xbox formats. The edition intended for the Sony and Microsoft platforms is in all respects identical to the original, with just appreciable improvements in terms of resolution on the most recent machines, where the glance of 4K can be seen in the exaltation of the theatrical setting.

Citizen Sleeper 2 doesn't overturn the formula of its predecessor, but it improves it in every way. The story is better paced and broader in scope, thanks to the possibility of exploring the Starward Belt far and wide. The cast is larger and the characterization of the characters is deeper, so much so that it is impossible not to develop a deep empathy with all the supporting characters, starting with Serafin. The game mechanics are more immediate, thanks to the purging of the less effective elements of the predecessor and a cleaner interface. The constant sense of having someone on your tail, of being stuck in a ruined body and of not having time and resources, provides further pathos, gluing you to the screen for hours and amplifying the emotions felt. If all this were not enough to make Citizen Sleeper 2 a small masterpiece, we can add a harsh and subtle social criticism, deep and sharp, but not without shades of optimism.

Launching into the bloody embrace of Doom Eternal is a bit like waking up on Christmas morning and finding all the gifts we wanted under the tree. Plus a double-barreled shotgun.

If you're thinking of getting closer to the genre and looking for a deep and not-too-hectic game, Street Fighter V Arcade Edition is a great place to start.

An incredible conclusion to the Starcraft II saga: the new coop works great, and the game has equal appeal for veterans and newcomers alike. If you're even slightly into RTS, this is one you shouldn't really miss.

Super Mario Bros Wonder has one precious merit: it's too much fun. Several times we found ourselves putting off finishing a game session, eager to see what surprise the next level would have in store for us. The innovations introduced in this new chapter are truly numerous, from the power-up system linked to the pins to the surreal effects generated by the Wonder Flowers. The exclusive Nintendo Switch focuses a lot on surprise, but does not forget to deploy an admirable level of attention to detail and a very solid technical sector. The regret remains for the absence of memorable boss fights and for a level of challenge which, in our opinion, could have been calibrated a little higher. Net of these considerations, Super Mario Bros Wonder still remains an excellent product, capable of taking Mario and his friends on new gaming paths.

The best RPG of 2010 comes to the Xbox 360 in a Enhanced version. It's a porting of incredible quality that qualifies The Witcher 2 as one of the best console games of 2012.

Crysis 3 is one of this year's masterpieces. However, the proverbial - and somewhat unexpected - icing on the cake is represented by a visual system of great impact and more than satisfactory technical performances, which represent a surprising step forward compared to what was seen in Three Houses. Whether or not you know the various heroes recalled from the past, we suggest you make it your own and let yourself be enchanted by a brilliant and varied combat system.

Star Fox 64 3D is the best version of the title we've seen on Nintendo 64. Its fast paced action and a perfectly balanced rhythm provide an experience which today is as good as it was years ago, not having suffered at all from the action of time. Extraordinary in its gameplay, the title still remains a masterpiece.

Aside from a couple of hitches that don’t significantly alter the quality of the production, the PC version of God of War Ragnarok shows up to the gamers’ appointment in great shape, ready to drag the masses through the snows of Fimbulwinter. From a performance point of view, we’re talking about a product capable of adapting very well to a wide range of configurations, thanks to the precautions taken by Santa Monica already at the time of the first release. Although the gap between the PS5 and PC versions isn’t exceptionally wide, the overall performance of the porting pushes us to confirm without hesitation the evaluation given a couple of years ago, the same one also attributed to the porting of the previous chapter.

Machinarium is simply a Masterpiece. A must buy for everyone.

Forza Motorsport 4 goes beyond any driving simulation on consoles. Turn 10 added some fresh mechanics to a career mode that, apart some extras, remains the same (in terms of event types), and developed a new grip system for the tires that reaches a new level of driving simulation.

The excellent conversion work done by the team of 343 Industries brings a technical section to the screen without significant failure, except for a couple of stumbles that will probably be corrected here shortly, and offers the videogame audience an excellent port, for a title which undoubtedly deserves to be rediscovered.

Chuchel is the accomplishment of an artistic process started fifteen years ago, and fully matured with this extraordinary visual and interactive experience.

Probably, the best 2D platform released recently.

The added value of the collection lies in its encyclopedic nature. You can examine detailed scans of the original packaging, cartridges and manuals in the US, EU and JAP editions, discovering precious details about the lore and world of the game. A gallery of illustrations, development documents and a compilation of all the soundtracks complete a truly rich package that demonstrates attention and love for the medium. Technically the porting is fluid and impeccable, although I recommend abandoning the analog sticks in favor of the directional cross to have greater control and precision in movements. Furthermore, remaining in the Playstation ecosystem, I found it perfect to play on Portal (both streaming and in the cloud). Ultimately, this is not a lazy emulation but a true operation of historical memory, restoring dignity to a series that contributed to defining the canons of a genre that continues to inspire modern titles. Super Bomberman Collection is not just a gift to the nostalgic to recover a glory of the past, but a bridge for the new generations, so that they can discover how a simple bomb could have laid the foundations of the video game.

Seventeen years after its original release, Abe's Oddysee is still one of the most strange, brilliant, original and funny platform around. This new edition is, indeed, tasty, and no player should miss it.

Super Mario 3D Land is surely peculiar among the series' episodes, mixing elements of classic and modern gameplay. It's not another Galaxy, and it just doesn't want to be: it has a strong identity, made of a great level design and rewarding gameplay. And it's incredibly fun to play.

The Bridge is a rare gem in terms of style and game design; the value of which, however, is overshadowed by a slightly oversized selling price.

Fez is a true masterpiece, and we are really pleased to have it on PlayStation 4 and PsVita.

Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon is one of the best titles by Nintendo in recent years. Almost a real Killer Application, at least if you look at it with the eyes of an old fan.

Dragon's Crown is equipped with an irresistible charge and a visual style that stands out the current landscape of the video game market. The game is above the already enviable previous productions from Vanillaware.

It's a very challenging game, but the gameplay is so well crafted that it becomes more and more natural while you master it. Definitely a game worth considering for 2D fans.

Flower is a unique game.

Brotherhood is another great chapter of the most thrilling series of this generation. The plot is mature and interesting, and even if some issues with the battle system are still there to bother, the beauty of the landscape and the amount of quests are impressive.

One of the most intriguing action games of the last years. The setting is great, and despite the similarity with God of War this product can entertain for many hours.

Shadow of the Erdtree will be available from June 21st and whether you are an experienced Senzaluce or an aspiring god exterminator, you can't miss this appointment. The relationship between vastness of the experience and density of content makes this expansion a very valid product that literally kept us glued to the screen for dozens and dozens of hours. The new weapons, spells and sorceries also greatly enrich the already vast list of tools at your disposal and, in any new game plus, it will be impossible for you to do without them. The level we would recommend to face this experience with relative peace of mind is 150, which should allow you to fight against Mohg, the Lord of Blood without suffering too much.

The final version of the title, in fact, is not just a collection of the content published until now, but is something more: a gargantuan dish, enriched and improved.

The beautiful artistic component and a well crafted gameplay structure make this portable episode of Little Big Planet a small masterpiece.

Absolutely recommended both to those who want to go back to rewriting the destiny of humanity with a pad in their hands and to beginners who wish to approach one of the most important fragments of gaming history ever.

As Zero Dawn's natural evolution, Horizon Forbidden West accomplishes what a sequel should achieve: reaching new heights. Guerrilla Games builds a great world, perfecting every aspect of the first episode.

With the quality of writing and the inventiveness of design, Disco Elysium brilliantly faces the traditions of role-playing. In doing so, it paradoxically succeeds in overcoming them where more "innovative" titles have failed, demonstrating that innovation is not enough as the sole aim and motivation to make a great game, but that a great game can be, by virtue of its qualities, innovative.

Bravely Default is a masterpiece within the RPG genre. A title that combines nostalgia and modernity firmly and gently and offers a truly unique experience.

Hearthstone is one of the most intriguing TCD of the past years, and this iPad version clearly stands as an amazing porting.

Two Point Campus is a production of excellence, able to meet not only the favor of enthusiasts, but also to bring neophytes to the genre. The immediacy of the controls, the excellent learning curve and the goliardic tones of the experience make the work a perfect entry point for players curious to try their hand at the management universe for the first time. At the same time, the depth of gameplay and the incredible amount of content can only excite the veterans of this specific videogame branch.

Ultimately, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom can be considered a successful experiment. Playing as the princess is not only genuinely fun, but it offers a new perspective on the entire imaginary of the kingdom of Hyrule. The mechanics of the replicas interact perfectly with the possibility of seeing Zelda in the role of swordswoman, while the ideas related to physical principles further enrich the gameplay. In Echoes of Wisdom, male and female players can adopt the approach they prefer, favoring exploration, use of ingenuity or use of bizarre weapons, equipment and accessories. An excellent adventure, which with a more refined artistic sector and a greater refinement of interfaces and technical aspects could have been a complete masterpiece. If you have a Nintendo Switch on your home table, however, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a very valid reason to grab the joy-con and enjoy the genuine fun offered by the kingdom of Hyrule.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 proves that with care and a willingness to experiment, even the most modest subseries can grow to truly deserve its reputation. The result is a JRPG that's both fresh and layered, with an identity built on the convergence of strategic combat, ecological conservation, and political narrative—three pillars that would risk clashing in another game, but here feed off each other with disarming ease. The most interesting question Twisted Reflection leaves open isn't about the present, but about the future. If the first Stories was an experiment, the second an evolution, and the third a maturation, where does the series go from here? The journey it's taken in ten years is that of an intellectual property that has found its identity almost by accident, achieving a creative outcome that no one, likely not even Capcom, had foreseen. Now that its identity is defined, the real challenge becomes not settling: proving that this formula can still surprise, that the next iteration won't be a consolidation but a new leap. If Capcom can keep up this courage, Stories has all the credentials to not only stand alongside the main Monster Hunter series, but to establish itself as one of the most relevant entries in the entire JRPG landscape.

It's a game dedicated to fans, and it doesn't show any interest in bringing in newcomers. Despite that, players that loved the previous chapters will find here countless hours of epic fights.

The fascinating visual style, combined with a very solid game system that is easy to learn and difficult to master, make it an unmissable title for those looking for an original, fun and highly replayable journey.

Despite not yet perfect NHL 10 is the best hockey simulation ever made. This year EA Sports did not made a revolution but a little bit of tweaking, adding gameplay features that gave to the player a sense of realism never tried before.

The Phantom of Sparta makes its debut on PC with a port of remarkable workmanship, which inherits all the merits of the Santa Monica Studio masterpiece and enhances them thanks to the merits of a technical sector of exquisite workmanship.

With great freedom of choice and and one of the most fascinating settings in modern gaming history, Dishonored is one of the best experiences of this late 2012.
