If you are still wondering, the answer is no: XDefiant is not the COD killer that many expected. The new free to play from Ubisoft is a good shooter, which certainly has the ability to entertain for a few hours, but which will hardly be able to establish itself on the market due to some problems related to balance and progression. The current version of the game represents only a fair starting point, which will require constant commitment from the developers to improve on all fronts. In any case, this is not an impossible situation, given the precedents of the French software house.

Not everything flows with the right fluidity, and the consistent difficulty of the game is aggravated by unfortunate game design choices: yet, when it works, the work of Oddworld Inhabitants manages to guarantee a good dose of satisfaction, thanks to a substantial amount of content and of Abe's immortal grotesque charm.

It is certainly not a novelty that a tender palletta famous for gulping down enemies or Bon Bon, can be greedy, but this time Kirby exceeds expectations: Kirby's Dream Buffet presents itself as a party game that proudly rests on a gastronomic dimension. Through a four-course menu, you will roll, bounce and immerse yourself in a contest of sponge cake and burgers, trying to conquer as many strawberries as possible. It would be more exciting if there was the possibility to customize the Kirbys of the secondary players or if other mini-games were also included in the path, to make the tasting even more varied. "Vote die you"? No. But as an alternative to other games it is inspired by, it leaves a sweet, soft feeling, less of contention and more of feasting. We advise against playing it on an empty stomach.

Ultimately, this return of Alone in the Dark is a project that was only able to convince us halfway. On the one hand there is excellent writing, capable of keeping you glued to the screen for the entire duration of the campaign while, on the other, we find a playful structure that thrives on ups and downs and a shaky technical realization, elements that prevent the title from Pieces and THQ Nordic to take flight. If we were to evaluate exclusively the Ultra Age combat system we would not hesitate to say that it is a small pearl. Unfortunately, however, we find ourselves having to consider the entire package and it is therefore impossible not to take into consideration the serious problems of this production, which range from level design to the graphics sector, passing through some very questionable gameplay choices. The result is a poor offer in terms of content even for a product sold for 29.99 euros. In short, the purchase of Ultra Age should only be evaluated by the most hardcore fans of the genre who do not want to miss the opportunity to try the particular combat system on PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch (platform on which there is also a free demo).

Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case tells a good story starring the detective Hercule Poirot, who although younger than his moustached and experienced version is equally shrewd, intelligent and charismatic. The supporting actors and the plot work, brought to life in various and detailed locations by a valuable visual and artistic presentation, net of cutscenes that are not as well cared for. Unfortunately it is precisely in the playful dimension and in the rhythm that the experience loses some points, because sometimes it dilutes the progress too much with lots of backtracking and puzzles with a not exactly intuitive solution. In any case, the title of Blazin Griffin has what it takes to make the fans of the iconic character born from the beloved mystery writer happy.

Despite having inherited some problems that the Gameverse has carried with it since its origins, Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is hands down the best SAO tie-in made so far. By minimizing downtime, implementing mechanics aimed at streamlining and speeding up the combat system, and paying more attention to optimization, the guys from Aquria have redeemed themselves and this time created a frenetic and fun action RPG. Since this explores in detail the customs and geography of the Dark Territory, which had found very little space in the War of Underworld anime, we recommend its recovery to fans of the franchise and more generally to lovers of the genre.

The Precinct has everything it needs to put on a great show, but it forgets the most important thing: entertainment. It starts with an intriguing idea and develops it through a solid procedural structure... which, however, begins to creak too quickly. The narrative is stripped down to the bare bones, the game world is fascinating but remains superficial, and the gameplay, despite some brilliant intuition, struggles to renew itself over time. And yet, there are moments in which everything seems to work: hair-raising chases, a well-crafted moral system and that pinch of satisfaction in enforcing the law - at least while it lasts. Those who want to immerse themselves in the guardian of law and order might find something interesting here. For everyone else, The Precinct risks turning into a long, monotonous patrol.

Broken Pieces is a project created by a software house still in its infancy, an adventure that unfortunately has proved problematic on several fronts. Net of the pleasant setting that is the background to the events narrated, the plot fails to involve the player, most of the puzzles are uninteresting and repetitive and the combat phases are nothing more than a filler that tires already at the second meeting with the opponents, all equal to each other. Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten is an experiment that is only partially successful, as Aquaplus's inexperience in the JRPG field and the limited budget have influenced almost all aspects of the product, starting with the obsolete graphics sector and a combat system not quite in focus. In short, the strong point of the package is represented by the convincing plot and the writing of the characters, which with their travails will fascinate Utawarerumono fans and newcomers alike. However, this adventure on the planet Persephone—in terms of both its gameplay and narrative components—ultimately does little more than scratch the surface of the ice of which it is composed, without ever truly breaking through it. The result is a work that attempts to weave together themes of survival, responsibility, and human connection against the backdrop of an environmental crisis, yet struggles to fully develop its own core concepts. Nevertheless, it remains an intriguing experience—particularly for that segment of the audience seeking a more intimate and grounded science fiction story.
