Seven years after the launch of Lost Dimension, FuRyu and the Lancarse studio are back on the scene to impress JRPG fans with dark-hued tactics. Although the influence of Shin Megami Tensei and Persona 5 in particular is evident on the narrative level, MONARK has won us over with a dramatic, crazy and sometimes brutal story, as well as able to make us reflect on the most hidden and primitive desires of mankind. So put aside any skepticism related to the almost unknown name of the Japanese developer and let yourself be overwhelmed by MONARK's excellent turn-based combat system: you'll go crazy!

Echoes of the End is only halfway successful. The game boasts impressive technical features and a puzzle quality rarely found in an action adventure. While it's a pleasure to play, the Myrkur Games production suffers from a number of issues, including a rather crude combat system and, more generally, a fairly derivative story. In short, if the development team had been brave enough to take a few more months to iron out the flaws, we'd likely be talking about a product of a completely different caliber.

It's an exciting journey that of Star Overdrive, a game that, with all its structural limitations, has proven capable of exciting and entertaining, despite the seemingly insurmountable goal that the Roman team of Caracal has placed at the base of the project. It's true, there are some naivety that do not allow it to rise to the level of other great productions of the large Switch software library but it is certainly an excellent starting point for future works, as well as an important spotlight on the crystalline talent of the company. If you are looking for a title that knows how to enhance the exploration of an alien planet, immersed in a sci-fi context inspired by rock and enriched by a series of well-made gameplay and content ideas, the story of Bios and Nous could be for you, especially by virtue of the competitive price at which it is offered.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a fun game, but it's not enough. We appreciate the effort to adapt a sport that was based on other rules to a video game content that must come to terms with the needs of the gameplay. However, we reiterate, that today the content is really too little: the single player challenges are limited and the multiplayer can satisfy you for a few games, but nothing more. More modes, more proposals and a more varied offer were needed, especially in the customization of the team, which instead has few skills to improve. Fans will have their share of satisfaction in whizzing around with their brooms, but the difficulty of the gameplay risks raising the accessibility bar a lot and keeping out all that more casual audience that instead in Hogwarts Legacy had made the fortune of Portkey Games.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis could and should have been the most convenient and immediate solution to review the entire Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, especially given what Square Enix is trying to achieve with the disputed Remake Trilogy. Unfortunately, however, the Japanese giant has bet on a damn confusing structure and a gacha component that risk resulting in the detestable phenomenon of pay-to-win. It's a real shame because, despite the limits imposed by the poor customization of the units, which during battles limits the feasible strategies and opens the door to monotony, the combat system of Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is very valid and what's more the product can count on a truly delightful artistic direction. If for our part we feel like not recommending it to newbies, who due to the episodic formula would understand little or nothing about the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, historical fans could instead find it a pleasant pastime and, between one mission and another, discover some new details on their favorites.

The Saints Row reboot offers a fun experience, made even more varied by the numerous Criminal Enterprises and capable of bestowing smiles, given the presence of crazy weapons to discover and out of the ordinary Skills. In addition to the journey of brotherhood at the base of the story, the real element that pushes to extend the stay in Santo Ileso is the boundless customization, which will allow you to have the last word on the look of characters, weapons, cars and the Saints HQ. Anchored in some ways to stylistic features of the past, the latest Volition effort is affected by some critical issues both on the playful and purely graphic front and more generally fails to make the series reach new evolutionary peaks. The flow of gameplay is abruptly interrupted upon completion of the third location, a moment in which an insurmountable barrier is revealed that requires hours and hours of grinding or the use of a credit card to be able to be circumvented. The title of Emerald City Games is also less generous than other of its more illustrious colleagues and the lack of mechanics such as the automatic completion of the levels makes progression even less easy.
