As I said up top, there are certainly reasons to be wary of Hidden Agenda. It’s hard not to search a crime scene for clues with your unresponsive PlayLink app and come away wishing that you were just using a plain controller. But that’s more than outweighed by the fact that the game also does a better job of capturing what makes mystery novels so compelling than nearly anything else I’ve ever played. Hidden Agenda may not be perfect, but it knows how to keep you hooked right to the very end.

Hidden Agenda is a great thriller, where players are determined to determine the outcome of the story.

Hidden Agenda is a couch co-op adventure game played with a smartphone. It has some narrative issues, but was still fun to play with friends.

Technical hurdles can be frustrating to overcome, and there’s very little replay value with the same group of people, but if you regularly host friends and family, even those who don’t play games much, Hidden Agenda makes for a surprising and enjoyable evening.

As an interactive movie, you could do a lot worse than Hidden Agenda. However, technical issues and a number of unsatisfying endings are flaws that deserve to be mentioned.

With a huge web of choices to make and an enjoyable competitive mode to boot, there’s a lot to like in this crime analysis. Hidden Agenda proves that the PlayLink initiative can be taken advantage of in more than just casual party games, but this particular outing doesn’t quite realise its full potential. This investigation is absolutely one worth experiencing, but one too many caveats with the app itself holds things back from greatness.

In single-player or multiplayer, Hidden Agenda is a game in which winning almost always feels like losing.

The player is given many options that aren't always readily apparent which is best course to match the ultimate ending you may be trying to achieve. The diverging stories seem to be way more numerous than Until Dawn. Some story lines feel more fleshed out than others and some jumps from scene to scene feel more or less natural than a full price game should feel which sometimes feel as characters make radical jumps in logic that won't be clear till a 2nd or 3rd play but with 2 plays as of this review their are radically different directions the story may go. This is a highly entertaining narrative while not the most original plot... I have to question why the devs didn't make this a full length game as it would have been labeled best of the year however the short length is sure to keep this title from getting the AAA attention it deserves. Really enjoyed playing through with other people. That's the key, you need other people to enjoy it to the fullest. It's innovative. The storyReally enjoyed playing through with other people. That's the key, you need other people to enjoy it to the fullest. It's innovative. The story kept us all guessing until the end. Sure, it's terrible compared to a TV show or movie in terms of pacing, plotlines, plotholes and a rushed ending, but the interactivity pulls you along. Expand

It is very painful that you are unable to continue your story via chapter selection.
The choices matter a lot and there plenty of dialogs for every choice you make. I have been playing this game for over 7 times and I still see new scenes. The Play-link system is very nice and brings a great joy to the Competitive mode.

Because the game requires an app to function. An app that was no longer updated and due to that it is no longer supported by Android on my phone. And they are still selling this game... Without any information about it. They simply don't care. That was one of the biggest "f*ck you" that I ever experienced as a gamer from any corporation that makes games.

Thank you Supermassive Games. You are as competent as you are innovative. You are very trustworthy. Clearly, I have a problem and not you.

I will never buy anything from this developer ever again.
