Sand Land is therefore a tie-in that is not fully successful on the gaming and content front, but it is a video game adaptation that expresses a lot of affection towards the work from which it is based. A fun and varied management of the arsenal of vehicles and a cast of charismatic characters contrast with a lackluster open world and a rather cumbersome combat system. For everything else, nostalgia reigns supreme, in an adventure aimed mainly at fans of the adorable Beelzebub.- Everyeye.it

Life is Strange: Reunion brings down the curtain not only on the story of Max and Chloe but on the entire franchise—and it does so in a rather controversial manner. This is not to say it is a bad game; at the very least, Deck Nine has managed to craft a few moments of enjoyable fanservice. Beyond that, however, there is little else: the plot becomes overly convoluted, inexplicably sidelining certain key elements of the lore, while the gameplay is poorly balanced—giving ample scope to Max’s time-rewinding ability while drastically diminishing Chloe’s role. The credits—which roll to the rhythm of an excellent soundtrack—offer only partial satisfaction: they do, admittedly, allow us to bid farewell to Max and Chloe once and for all, but they also leave us wondering just how necessary it all really was.- Everyeye.it

Presented as the first blockbuster for PlayStation VR, Farpoint is an interesting title. The game starts brilliantly, astonishes the player thanks to an unexpectedly pleasing tale, and shows an impressive use of the PlayStation Aim. Being a peculiar combination of an FPS and on-rail shooters, the gameplay works very well, but Farpoint loses its grip in the last part of its adventure. It runs too fast, fails to present original and interesting situations, but also to narrate a strong and convincing ending.- Everyeye.it

The Chant is a horror movie with some interesting ideas. The narrative intrigues the user and encourages him to venture into the darkest corners of Glory Island. The story, however, loses its bite at the end, failing to keep up with what was shown in the first hours of the game. The combat, the survival component and the vital parameters of Jess, are elements well amalgamated with each other, although they do not manage to affect the gameplay in a fully effective way. In short, we are talking about a first discreet test for Brass Token, which we hope can return with a more refined and scary horror in the future.- Everyeye.it

This Re-Pac of that game that had a moderate success more than twenty years ago proves to be mostly aimed at nostalgics of the original title, eager to get their hands on one of their first playful experiences on the historic PlayStation, which can therefore be satisfied from the new Bandai-Namco proposal. Those who have not already felt an immeasurable affection for Pac-Man World for some time will not find in the Re-Pac a useful reason to rediscover this little gem of the past, yet another demonstration of how much the world of video games has evolved since that distant 1999.- Everyeye.it

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre not only does justice to the film it is inspired by, but is also a good exponent of the genre it belongs to. Unfortunately, however, the experience is characterized by a repetitiveness that becomes apparent rather quickly due not only to the serious lack of content available at launch, but also to a fairly rigid gameplay setting, which makes all the games similar to each other. While waiting to find out if and how the offer will be expanded with the reveal of the roadmap by the developers, we can say that we are faced with a product that still deserves to be tried by fans of games of this type, especially by those who can dive into the game via Xbox Game Pass.- Everyeye.it

Phobia: St. Dinfna Hotel is a good debut for Pulsatrix Studios: in four years they have managed to pack an aesthetically and playfully pleasing horror, with the right mix of puzzle-investigative and shooter elements. Generally you notice the commitment of the team, which perhaps could have dared slightly more: some puzzles are too trivial, others require excessive backtracking and can confuse the player a lot. The graphics sector is good, thanks to a good use of the Unreal Engine but among rather detailed environments and objects it is inevitable to notice others of poor quality, which slightly damage the beauty of Phobia, whose narrative fabric unfortunately knows already seen.- Everyeye.it

By blowing on the dormant flames of Souls iconography, Blue Fire brings an experience with an authentic and challenging character to the panorama of independent development, evoking an almost melancholy scent. The inspiration from names such as The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario does not betray any lack of personality, on the contrary it reveals the attention of a team - that of ROBI Studios - which has been able to combine all the influences sought elsewhere with great coherence and playful effectiveness. The result is a 3D metroidvania that makes good platforming its stylistic code, net of the frustration inherent in some phases, on which, however, the goodness of the proposed challenge and the charisma of its atmospheres allow you to easily fly over.- Everyeye.it

Tides of Tomorrow attempts to depict a world suffocated by plastic—crafting a fascinating setting rich in thematic potential—yet ultimately treats the subject with the same superficiality with which, outside the screen, we have learned to coexist with it. All the right ingredients are there: the ambition to confront the player with the moral consequences of their actions, bolstered by a brilliant concept like the "Story-Link," which strives to weave players' choices together within a shared dimension. The problem, however, is that this very ambition struggles to translate into something truly impactful. The numerous choices rarely carry the weight they should, and the saccharine writing style ends up excessively dampening the tone. Tides of Tomorrow offers glimpses of something immense lurking beneath the surface, yet never quite manages to bring it to light.- Everyeye.it

The Claws of Awaji is a DLC that reflects both the strengths and weaknesses of Assassin's Creed Shadows: some narrative elements are interesting, but the story ends without much excitement, nor does it sufficiently delve into the renewed conflict between Assassins and Templars. The introduction of a new weapon for Naoe livens up the combat a bit, but the gameplay remains more or less the same: ultimately, Awaji is an island that replicates the same exploration loop as the base game on a smaller scale, without adding anything new. Although it is free for all those who pre-ordered at the time, it is still a significant expansion at €25.- Everyeye.it

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 isn't a complete disappointment, yet it makes very clear how difficult it is to accomplish a good sequel, especially when you need to please both the hardcore fans and the masses. The switch from fixed camera angles to freeview adds some hiccups in the game mechanics, while stealth, platforming and unimaginative boss fights often spoil the fun. Overall, Undisputed is a worthy product, which manages to bring “great boxing” back to the market in video games, a good fifteen years after the release of the last Fight Night. The core of the proposal is represented by an excellent assortment of mechanics, which grants ample room for maneuver both to those looking for a more technical experience, and to novices in the art of digital boxing. The balance between these two aspects of the offer, however, is not yet calibrated to perfection, and it is easy to notice a group of rough edges that, put together, hold the game back from expressing its full potential.- Everyeye.it

Little Nightmares 3 is a heartfelt installment that respects the legacy inherited from Tarsier, which Supermassive has embraced with skill and without the intention of overturning established mechanics, rhythms, and situations that still work very well. We would have liked to see some camera issues fixed, just as we would have appreciated more creative solutions for the puzzles, given that the ones present (in the final location in particular...) are truly interesting. The co-op mode is a great fit, and we regret the absence of local co-op. With its light and shadows, Little Nightmares is always Little Nightmares. It's scary, it makes you think, it creates a dense and sticky tension that spans the most disparate horror genres and plays with phobias, sounds, and images—in short, with all the most typical tools of fright. And we can't wait to learn more by exploring the two DLCs already planned.- Everyeye.it
