Affordable, yet masterfully produced, with a very strong visual identity, this action puzzle game offers an unusual gameplay that works surprisingly well when grasped. It's a very nice, well-priced game that offers 4 to 5 hours of gameplay for puzzle and scoring aficionados.

It's good fun, testing both your problem solving and manual dexterity, and it makes good use of PS Vita's controls. [Issue#216, p.73]

Escape Plan is a hard and fast but extremely fun puzzle-game that takes advantage from the unique features of Sony's latest hardware platform to deliver a rewarding and visually pleasing product. Believe us: this is one of the strongest titles in the PlayStation Vita's launch library.

My absolute favorite feature of Escape Plan is the ability to skip levels. As the game helpfully, and humiliatingly, tells you after a few failures, you can skip any level and move onto the next one.

It's not perfect, and even skilled players will struggle with some of the more demanding multitasking required for certain scenarios (the level-skip is an acknowledgement of the inconsistent difficulty), but it's clever, cunning and entertaining.

Although the design is sublime and the puzzles present a healthy challenge, Escape Plan is hampered by imprecise controls and a far too slow tempo. Making the player wait for several seconds before they can start playing each and every room makes for a frustrating experience, and makes it less than perfect for playing on the go.

Escape Plan never aims to be anything more than a showcase of the PlayStation Vita's touch controls, but said controls are so insensitive and poorly implemented that the best it can hope for is to be used as an example of what not to do when designing a Vita game.

However I now feel this game is substantially better than it was upon its intial realease as Fun Bits Interactive have repeatedly updated the game to be in a much more playable and enjoyable game than all style not enough fun approach it had before. I now thoroughly enjoy this game as the ddevelopers have gravely improved it even releasing some great DLC to improve the longevity of the experience that was previously quite short in the form of free DLC in an update and DLC which was for a limited time juse £0.21 which was great! So my updated scores are as follows; Gameplay: 8.5, Graphics: 7.5, Presentation: 9 , Lasting appeal: 8 Expand

TheI remember when Vita launched this was touted as one of if the not best launch games. After trying it out I'm a little underwhelmed. The atmosphere is great, it makes good use of the Vitas various capabilities but I found the difficulty varied between painfully easy and frustratingly hard, now that being said I'm not a huge "puzzler guy" so maybe I'm just being a baby about it. Is you have ps plus snag it, otherwise if would only pay for it his game if it is sale. Expand

It sometimes feels like a VITA game but also has its own identity. If you're into puzzles and the Touch-screen gimmick you should have some fun with it. I know I had but this isn't really that great of a game unless you actually want to fully use your VITA features. But I'd recommend Gravity Rush or Uncharted: The Golden Abyss over this. Expand

I spent more time wrestling with the controls than using my brain to solve the puzzles. It annoying puts the number of deaths on your character and every time I look at it I am reminded that half of that number is because those guys wouldn't do what I wanted them to do. Seems like it was meant for the iPhone with all the touch controls. The Vita has a nice control pad they could have used. Really hate this game and I already removed it from my Vita. Dokuro is a much better game despite it being $5 more. Expand
