It is hard to think of a product more suitable for experienced R-Type Final 2 r-typers. In slavishly retracing the trail left by the famous Eighties arcade shooter, the revival operation by Granzella Inc. modernizes the playful recipe here and there. of departure, finally returning an experience with a high nostalgic rate, with a lot of difficulty well above the average, just like in the old days. Whether this is the true finale of the series or not, try not to miss the exciting opportunity to take flight among the stars again.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is a work that welcomes the most nostalgic players in a vortex of reassuring and melancholic atmospheres, and at the same time tries to shake up the status quo of the saga with ambitious narrative choices. Re-embracing the iconic Max Caulfield represents a pleasant dip into the past, especially because the guys at Deck Nine have managed to respect the traditional elements - narrative and artistic - of the first Life is Strange. But the return of "Super Max" did not entirely convince us, with subplots that were not particularly brilliant and twists that at times seemed exaggerated. Although the gameplay formula is interesting, the game framework then stumbles into some naivety. The best Life is Strange by Deck Nine is still the one that takes place before the storm.

Vile Monarch packs an experience that manages to stand out in the panorama of post-apocalyptic themed city builders, at least on the aesthetic front. From the point of view of the gameplay we would have preferred to see carried forward that vein of innovation that distinguishes the management side of relations between clans. Unfortunately, on the whole, the game has been able to capture the most successful aspects of other exponents of the genre to which it refers, without daring to detach itself from playful elements already repeatedly proposed over the last few years. Disney Illusion Island is a good family entertainment title, with the addition of up to four player co-op making the experience even more immersive. On the other hand, the basic repetitiveness is very evident in the first part of the adventure, except to recover in the second part, at the end of the entire journey. The playful flatness of the four characters, net of the pleasant visual differentiations, weakens the inventiveness of a smooth and pleasant gameplay. We repeat: approach Martha is Dead with the right awareness. It is a work that thrives on illusions, which often changes appearance, which suggests playful stimuli and then moves elsewhere, in a schizophrenia that deceives but involves. It is a cruel game, narratively imperfect, and at the same time quite courageous, as well as not very lenient towards the (very difficult and very delicate) subject it deals with. Get closer to Luca Dalcò's creature knowing that an adventure awaits you where lies and truth move in symbiosis, in a whirlwind of verbal, physical and mental violence. It hurts. Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is a well-crafted graphic adventure that we would like to recommend to anyone, especially to those who have had the opportunity to appreciate the first chapter. Trapped in a story with mysterious and paranormal connotations, the protagonists of the game are credible and multifaceted, to the advantage of the effectiveness of the story and the dialogues with the supporting actors. Tribes of Midgard is a good compromise between team play, exploration and survival. A sandbox with an intriguing setting, albeit artistically uninspired, which offers a type of approach to the genre by virtue of accessibility and cooperation: in short, the shy but dignified starting point for Norsfell. A team that thus sets foot in a market that is quite inflated in itself, laying the foundations for an experience that - if duly supported, especially in terms of content - could prove to be an excellent opportunity to engage in fierce survival challenges with friends. However, it remains a not very bold title on the action front, and the same can be said for its aesthetic identity, still too weak to stand out properly.

If for wines there are memorable vintages and others less so, the same can also be said for the annual sports simulations. MotoGP 23 proves to be a perfect game for those approaching the world championship for the first time or for those who have skipped a couple of editions of the Milestone series. The neural aids and AI in general work, the new career has more bite and depth than previous incarnations and the dynamic weather conditions (including Flag to Flag) give a new dimension to the racing. Those who have played the 2022 edition, however, will find very few differences in the driving model (however improved) or on the graphics front. With its hybrid nature between roguelite and cozy game, Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree attempts to make its mark on the gaming landscape. The high sugar content may prove indigestible to those who don't like a certain Japanese animation style. Those who embrace its philosophy, however, will find a choral adventure, rich in personality and heart. It never achieves excellence, but it remains a light and satisfying journey, capable of entertaining for many hours without ever becoming overly punishing. There's still work to be done. The dual-character system is a great idea but still feels immature, while the evident repetitiveness of the bosses and arenas may bore some. Nintendo Championships NES Edition presents itself to the fans as an authentic love letter to the history of the Japanese giant, with an eye on the phenomenon of speedrunning which on the iconic 8-bit home console has its most archaic roots. Metal Eden is a video game about synthetic humans and robots, and in an almost meta-narrative sense, it feels cold and soulless. The pursuit of rhythmic and engaging gameplay is evident, yet another attempt to emulate the Doom formula. The experience feels repetitive and linear, less layered or challenging than it could have been. Moreover, the game even underuses its signature mechanic, the absorption of cores, which becomes quite repetitive over time. It's not a bad game, let's be clear: those who enjoy FPS challenges with "push-forward" gameplay have at least eight missions to test themselves with various weapons and a narrator with a lot to say. Ultimately, it's a shame: it could have been much more daring...

Bandai Namco Entertainment's decision to directly market the Deluxe Edition of the product, which at this time therefore includes all the DLC previously sold separately, does not at all compensate for the serious technical compromises that the ILCA team had to make in order to run the title on the hybrid car from the Kyoto company.
