The fact remains that it is once again one of those titles that once bought can easily remain installed all year round and that can be an excellent choice to be interspersed with other video games in those days when you wake up with a little of nostalgia for drifting in the mud of Chile or for the breathtaking jumps of the Rally of Finland for a bit of unpretentious fun even for those who do not have a cutting-edge driving position but want to have fun even only with the pad which, incidentally, performs quite well despite the Dualsense functions being only half exploited.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page offers a touching experience, able to lead the players to identify with the experience of the little protagonist. A powerful and talented narrative that unfolds its effectiveness especially when you find yourself treading the handwritten ink words on your diary in small steps, capable of evoking snapshots that are both daily and suggestive. With more structured gameplay and a higher level of challenge, the adventures of Izzy and the heroine of the world of Estoria could have shone a brighter light, taking the delicate indie to higher heights. Despite this, Lost Words: Beyond the Page remains a title that we absolutely feel to recommend to enthusiasts looking for a genuinely exciting journey, able to fascinate - even if for a few hours - with its delicate watercolor shades.

After the remake of the first Pac-Man World, it was reasonable to assume that Bandai Namco would continue the nostalgia drive, and the forty-fifth anniversary of Pac-Man was the perfect time to re-release the second installment in the series to attract as much attention as possible. There's no denying that a certain amount of effort went into Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, which not only revamped the game's technical features but also improved its controls, even offering some previously unseen extra content that proves useful in increasing the adventure's overall longevity. The problem is that the original game wasn't exactly the most engaging 3D platformer on the market when it was released in 2002, and the fact that this remake remains as faithful as possible to the original isn't the best business card considering 23 years have passed since then. Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is a nostalgic journey designed for Pac-Man fans, but it doesn't pretend to match the quality of the best modern platformers out there.

Despite the eleven years on his shoulders, Sonic Colors is confirmed to be among the most interesting adventures of the polygonal "second life" of the hyperkinetic hedgehog. Enjoying it fully is still possible today, certainly thanks to its intrinsic qualities - level design, in particular - but also the efforts made by Blind Squirrel in packaging Ultimate: a very good level of remastering work, albeit perfectible, and a product that we recommend without delay, especially to those who have not had the opportunity to get lost in the colors of the old edition.

Despite a few technical flaws that currently penalize only the Nintendo Switch version, and that we hope will be resolved as soon as possible, Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is a good starting point for the intellectual property of Nippon Ichi Software, which for too many years had rested in deep oblivion. Confining ghosts is a gameplay dynamic that is damned complex and difficult to master, but given its uniqueness, it wouldn't surprise us at all if this allowed the franchise to compete with the best exponents of the genre. Even twenty years after the debut of the original, it would seem that Phantom Brave still has something to say and a lot to teach contemporary strategy games.

Despite being rooted in a valuable gaming system, supported by a convincing technical sector, Metro Awakening struggles to maintain its initial momentum among the numerous stages of an adventure that, in the absence of noteworthy variations, is longer than it should be and - especially in the final hours - rather repetitive. Vertigo Games has done a good job in adapting the atmosphere and characters of 4A Games' post-apocalypse to the interactive framework of virtual reality, but without managing to compose a fully balanced and satisfying offer. Metro Awakening remains a worthy product, but it struggles to compete with the best experiences on PSVR2.

The new city builder is a perfect example of a sequel, with its complex systems and many improvements compared to the past. However, if on the one hand there is a renewed graphic sector to admire, on the other hand a vast range of features from the first chapter have been lost (for the moment). The game's cities are bigger, denser and more alive than ever, but achieving the same amount of content as its predecessor will take time.

Atomfall has style to spare. We are not faced with a simple "British" re-proposal of titles like Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. On the contrary, the work by Rebellion has a soul all its own and a strong character, which could lay the foundations for an excellent IP to carry forward alongside Sniper Elite. The jewel in the crown of the game is the very well-crafted narrative section, with a story (and a lore) to reconstruct trying to unravel a tangle of leads, clues and whispers that come from everywhere. The gameplay has been designed to give the player the greatest possible freedom, putting aside the traditional progression systems in favor of a dynamic management of the skill trees and inventory. The only shame is for some uncertainty from a technical point of view, connected to the (controversial) choice of using a proprietary graphics engine that now needs to be modernized.

Admittedly, the trial-and-error mechanics—combined with a difficulty level tuned on the lower side—may render this title somewhat unstimulating and unsatisfying for those seeking a genuine challenge; however, the variety of environments and situations, coupled with the pervasive wit that permeates the entire production, ensures that players of *Darwin's Paradox!* will never fall into the trap of boredom.

Our test of Harvestella took place on Nintendo Switch, but the JRPG is also available on PC. With a playful soul in constant balance between Action RPG and life-simulator, the JRPG alternates real-time battles, cultivation of the fields and socializing activities with your travel companions. A pleasant narrative, even if not excessively original, relaxed rhythms and an interesting artistic sector are combined with not too in-depth gameplay dynamics. Arrived like a bolt from the blue, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home can only embellish the Netflix Games portfolio, even if we would have expected something more from the sequel to a rare pearl like The Great War. It's not about creative gaps, because what Old Skull Games did with the supervision of Ubisoft is in all respects a deferential recovery of that stylistic figure, updated and integrated also with the deepening of new themes. It is the excessive debasement of the playful component that sometimes makes it difficult to fully immerse yourself in an otherwise visceral and well-constructed story. In short, this "homecoming" is bittersweet just like the story - or rather, the stories - it wants to tell us: pungent and imperfect.

Despite the involvement of outstanding artists, the star of Trinity Trigger does not shine as much as one would expect. As engaging as it is, the plot faithfully follows the topoi of the playful genre to which it belongs without ever proposing even vaguely original developments, while from a graphic point of view it seems to have in your hands a production intended for the now defunct Nintendo 3DS. Net of an almost non-existent challenge rate, the frenetic real-time combat system is the most successful aspect of the action RPG, which if played in local multiplayer together with two friends shows much of its great unexpressed potential. Maybe it won't end up in the annals of the JRPG, but overall Trinity Trigger remains a more than decent title. Our advice is to recover it on Nintendo Switch during the discount period.

I'm convinced that when evaluating a game, as with any other piece of entertainment, we should first consider the goals the developers set for themselves during the development process. It's obvious that Hangar 13 spent most of its creative and financial energy on the historical/cultural reconstruction of early twentieth-century Sicily, with praiseworthy results. That period, that place, those traditions, that language: Mafia Terra Madre is a unique experience, and for that alone it should be recognized. The gameplay component, unfortunately, has received a more cursory treatment, largely similar to that of Mafia Definitive Edition in terms of action sequences and the uncertainties of the artificial intelligence. Fortunately, a game is such a multi-layered product that it can't be evaluated "by the pound." What you see below is a number that, in my opinion, serves as a midpoint between a high-quality production and somewhat outdated gameplay, not fully refined. Everyone is obviously free to rate Mafia Terra Madre up or down based on what they want to find within the adventure. As long as they're aware of it being an honorable undertaking.

Very tempting and cheap, especially considering the variety of selections - with experiences ranging between different genres, even if to dominate can only be platformers and Scrolling fighter - and support for online multiplayer. But be careful, because not everything you remember with the big eyes is actually as sweet as memory suggests.

The release of Pandora's Tower will probably be the last in Nintendo Wii's history. After Xenoblade and The Last Story, the circle is closed, with all the three oriental RPGs out. It may not be equally epic or wonderfully told, but still it's an enjoyable game.

The Oath in Felghana comes in Europe 8 years later, with a good porting from PSP that cut only a few unrelevant features. The game is really good old style JRPG.

It does not offer new contents, not even borrowing them from Genma Onimusha. Although Warlords has aged well, thanks to its pioneering combat system, we understand that old fans can remain hesitant.

The missing piece of the great mosaic of the Winters family, whose vicissitudes have played a central role in the latest iterations of the series, is a pleasant addition to the now wide offer within Resident Evil Village, albeit not without structural ups and downs or missed opportunities. From a playful point of view, the large section at the Dimitrescu castle is certainly the most effective, thanks to the skilful use of Rose's powers and you find them as the nuclei of the Megamicete, whose removal - combined with the presence of sufficiently dangerous abominations - succeeds to create moments of healthy tension. It is a pity, however, that Le Ombre di Rose has explored a little the idea of the "network of consciences" in favor of the only experience of Ethan's daughter, whose journey in any case deserves to be experienced by all fans of the trend. of the Winters.
