Darwin's Paradox!

Despite being short, Darwin's Paradox is a game that has a lot of heart. It’s very fun to play, intense at times, and very emotional. The traversal options and various octopus’ abilities are very exciting to use, and the best part is that you have a plethora of different platforming challenges and puzzles along the way. The game’s ending was a standout for me, but the entire experience feels great and it’s really well polished. I’ve always enjoyed cinematic platform games, and Darwin's Paradox is certainly one of the standouts in this genre. It’s very well-made, it has excellent attention to detail, and the environmental comedy is strong in this one, too. Hopefully we’ll see more of Darwin, because this story feels like the beginning of a potentially long series of adventures. I’m in if that’s the case, because I like the world and characters, and I want to see more of it.

Darwin's Paradox! may be here for a good time, not a long time, but what a good time it is. Bringing classic platformers up to more modern standards, it proves a short, sweet, mechanically sound experience that I'll gladly take more of if ZDT Studio wants to bring this plucky octopus back to our screens.

Darwin's Paradox! proves to be, in essence, a solid platformer—anchored by an irresistible protagonist who falls somewhere between Wile E. Coyote and Scrat, and supported by visuals and music worthy of an animated film. Admittedly, the trial-and-error mechanics—combined with a difficulty level tuned on the lower side—may render this title somewhat unstimulating and unsatisfying for those seeking a genuine challenge; however, the variety of environments and situations, coupled with the pervasive wit that permeates the entire production, ensures that players of *Darwin's Paradox!* will never fall into the trap of boredom.

Darwin’s Paradox is cartoonishly great, with enough fun to satisfy anyone looking for an engaging platformer. It sometimes works against itself when exploring or dealing with enemies, but at times it comes together to be pretty coherent and exciting. However, sometimes, the controls fight against you and you even have situations where you have to attempt sections a few times to get past them. Overall, this is a short affair but it’s got some great platforming sections despite some control shortfalls.

Darwin's Paradox is short but densely packed with variety. Revolving around an octopus is a stroke of brilliance on the part of developer ZDT Studio, since it gives you a wide array of traversal options and abilities that extend naturally from what any child knows about the marine animal. Those options make the whole adventure move briskly as you rotate between different types of puzzle and platforming challenges without ever lingering on one for too long. It's a strong debut for Darwin and for ZDT, and I hope we see more from both of them.
