Charming character design. Varied and challenging, but uneven, level design. Darwin's Paradox is a great classic platformer with a retro octopus twist.

Darwin's Paradox is an enjoyable puzzle platformer from start to finish. The platforming feels good, while the puzzle aspects aren't overwhelming to the point that it detracts from the journey. The octopus abilities are well implemented and don't feel difficult to use, and the overall journey feels like it moves along at a good clip without meandering for too long. With a gorgeous presentation in place, there's little to gripe about, and fans of puzzle platforming who value experience over challenge will love Darwin's Paradox.

Despite being short, Darwin's Paradox is a game that has a lot of heart. It’s very fun to play, intense at times, and very emotional. The traversal options and various octopus’ abilities are very exciting to use, and the best part is that you have a plethora of different platforming challenges and puzzles along the way. The game’s ending was a standout for me, but the entire experience feels great and it’s really well polished. I’ve always enjoyed cinematic platform games, and Darwin's Paradox is certainly one of the standouts in this genre. It’s very well-made, it has excellent attention to detail, and the environmental comedy is strong in this one, too. Hopefully we’ll see more of Darwin, because this story feels like the beginning of a potentially long series of adventures. I’m in if that’s the case, because I like the world and characters, and I want to see more of it.

Darwin's Paradox is a relatively short and sweet adventure, completable in a day if you really go at it. For the 7 hours it lasted, I had an enjoyable time, despite a couple of frustrations. Darwin makes for an interesting (and somewhat cute) protagonist, with a unique moveset that makes you think outside of the usual platforming box in this beautiful world.

Darwin's Paradox! may be here for a good time, not a long time, but what a good time it is. Bringing classic platformers up to more modern standards, it proves a short, sweet, mechanically sound experience that I'll gladly take more of if ZDT Studio wants to bring this plucky octopus back to our screens.

Although the difficulty curve varies greatly, Darwin's Paradox has become one of the platform games I've enjoyed the most in recent years. Since there's no new MGS game on the horizon, I'd suggest giving this "Tactical Octopus Action" a chance.

Full of charm and humour, Darwin’s Paradox plays out somewhat like an interactive Pixar film. It certainly looks the part, thanks to some gorgeous artwork and animation that adds a layer of polish and charm to the game that just about camouflages some of the its weaker design elements. Fans of the genre will want to get ‘kraken’ with this one.

Become a clever octopus and save the marine world from a ruthless corporation. Your unique skills will definitely come in handy in this challenging platformer. On the one hand, the game is very fun, but it can also be frustrating at times.

Darwin’s Paradox! doesn’t always get the basics right, but it makes up for it with creativity and character. It’s rough in places, yet hard to put down once it gets going. A flawed but enjoyable game.

Darwin’s Paradox is a standout platform and action-adventure game featuring a witty style, a bumbling yet brave protagonist, and level designs that each offer a unique experience. However, since most of the platforming elements operate on a trial-and-error basis, this raises the game’s difficulty level and makes it harder to stay calm while playing. Still, Darwin’s Paradox is a game that fans of the genre should definitely give a try.

Darwin's Paradox! proves to be, in essence, a solid platformer—anchored by an irresistible protagonist who falls somewhere between Wile E. Coyote and Scrat, and supported by visuals and music worthy of an animated film. Admittedly, the trial-and-error mechanics—combined with a difficulty level tuned on the lower side—may render this title somewhat unstimulating and unsatisfying for those seeking a genuine challenge; however, the variety of environments and situations, coupled with the pervasive wit that permeates the entire production, ensures that players of *Darwin's Paradox!* will never fall into the trap of boredom.

Darwin's Paradox is one of those games that, without reinventing the wheel, knows exactly how to play its cards right. The platforming manages to be challenging without feeling suffocating, the puzzles are simple enough that you never get frustrated, and even exploring the world for collectibles takes both the jumping and the puzzles a step further than what you typically experience throughout the rest of the adventure.
