If you don’t like The Path, then you only spent ten dollars. And if you do like it, then it could well be one of your favorite games of the year.

Despite its issues, The Taxidermist is a tense, atmospheric delight and a promising start to the Heavy Rain: Chronicles.

MLB 12 on the Vita is a clean presentation of the baseball experience on the go. It raises the bar for realism a notch with its enhanced physics, but loses what it gains from clumsy animations. There's a lot of room for improvement, both technically and creatively, but for now the game suffers the most from the former.

Even if it is at times too orderly and directed, Shelter remains admirably blunt in its emulation of life throughout its short, two hour length.

WWE Legends of WrestleMania is a game sure to please the legions of nostalgic fans out there. It’s easy to pick up and play, although this could also be its biggest downfall.

Its large cast of likable characters and engaging, swashbuckling story go a long way in redeeming the game as a whole despite its several niggling problems.

A fine, if limited puzzle game. It has a story, something that few other games in the genre even attempt. It features nearly one hundred levels, all of which manage to be unique and challenging.

Ultimately though, there is a lot of fun to be had in this package, especially for just a $30 download. Section 8 offers an enjoyable blend of frantic FPS action and strategic squad-based gameplay.

For my liking, Red Faction Guerrilla has too many inconsistencies to be considered grade-A material, but then maybe it was never designed to be that way.

Behind the poor soundtrack, outdated visuals and general lack of presentation is a beat-em-up with rock-solid gameplay mechanics and ample multiplayer appeal.

The story is laughable; one could argue about the themes of escapism and loss of innocence, but a group of kids getting sucked into a book pales in comparison to what this game's predecessor showed off.

There's clearly been a lot of effort put into the presentation, authenticity and lifespan of the game, but it falls down in its appeal to newcomers to the genre. A tutorial may be present, but the steep learning curve and tough difficulty level will put many off.

Although it becomes frustrating at times, the short bursts of gameplay hold enough style and adventure to warrant a stumbling return.

Jet Set Radio is by no means a perfect game, nor was it originally, but it's the world, its ideas and that same unique energy that keep it relevant today.

While it isn't perfect, most of its flaws are forgivable because of the style and the price tag.

If you like adventure games, you’ll like Culture Shock. The storyline does feature some truly funny moments that I won’t spoil for you (this is a short game and I want you to enjoy as much of it as you can before you have to pay for the next episode), but being that I’m not a huge fan of puzzles, I didn’t really get a lot out of this game.

The story provides a nice backdrop for the exploration, and your party members feel like actual humans and not disposable toy soldiers.

Exit DS is an incredibly frustrating title because at its most basic core it's fun and incredibly well designed. It’s an absolute shame that Mr. Escape’s adventures are marred with imprecise controls and one insidious game design choice.

Despite the challenge Söldner-X can be an extremely enjoyable and addictive shooter when all is said and done. The poor design decisions do certainly take away some of the luster from this game. However, even after throwing your controller in sheer frustration and disgust there is still enough here to keep gamers coming back for more (if only just as a pastime between playing more major titles).

A solid swansong for a struggling developer. It vastly improves over Mercenaries 2 with a lot of enjoyable, explosive combat and a fantastic visual style. The characters and story leave a lot to be desired but it’s a fun ride and a cool take on the World War II genre.

There is a slightness about Scrapland that actually appeals in this day and age.

As a whole, Rochard is a mixed bag. If the story wasn't so prominent and terrible, if the characters weren't so unlikable, this could have been an amazing little experience. As it stands, it remains a mediocre representation of what could have been.

If you treat Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning as a shorter, story-driven experience, you'll have a much better time of it than the completionist who chases every single side quest.

Chromehounds is for all those who've ever wondered who exactly was backing them up when they faced armies of security bots, turrets, and other mechs.

Despite being hampered by a well meaning, but ultimately interfering, plot, Far Cry 3 has evolved into a decadent, playful and exciting title. Be it quality programming, dumb luck or a mixture of them both, the game plunges you into a thick, gloopy world of sugary gameplay, shimmering visuals, intoxicating audio as well as a great deal more. It's long, stupid and buckets of fun - just what you need to burn away the winter blues.

The surprises aren't there and neither is the awe one feels the first time they booted-up their copy of BioShock and laid eyes on Rapture.

Being able to apply a world that has already dug itself into the minds of many thousands of Al Pacino fans is something that shouldn't be passed up on, and then giving those extra little things to be that Tony Montana with thousands of wasteful dollars is a joy. It's a world that shouldn't be wasted.

Missile Command for the iOS generation. It succeeds in matching that arcade simplicity and yet feels designed chiefly around the efficiency of Apple's portables.

Viking is a great game, with some great promise, but this feels like a trial run. Hopefully it will sell enough to garner a sequel, one I would be very anxious to pick up on day one.

Between the online and single-player modes, EA's attempt at rebooting their Medal of Honor franchise after three years missing in action results in a competent game.

With lively graphics and a real pick-up-and-play attitude, XG Blast is an entertainingly addictive game.

Call of Duty 3’s unique ideas aren’t enough to separate it from the rest of the pack and it doesn’t maintain the incredibly high standards set at the start of the game.

SingStar: Queen is clearly just a track pack, offering nothing new to the series. If you’re a fan of the group and don’t already own any of the songs for the game then it may be a worthy purchase. For anybody just wanting their most well known songs, then it’s probably best to save your money and buy the songs from the SingStore.

The gameplay is fun, the animations are great and there’s a lot to do both online and off. However, this is really HSG5, and the omissions from previous HSG games leave the package feeling somewhat hollow.

It's not the best use of the motion controls, as it's really just an extension of the previously standard dual-analog controller. It's among the prettiest games on the Wii, and has a fun, if tacked on, multiplayer component.

If you’re not on board with the series’ mashing of shooting and RPG elements, there’s nothing here that’s going to dissuade, and even casual fans might not feel the need to pick up this interquel after they’re still stuffed from Borderlands 2, but for the hardcore fan it’s hard to deny the formula is still plenty of fun and taking things to the moon provides enough of a difference in the mechanics to justify a play-through.

The whole production feels like it could do with a little more depth - outside of the narrative, it feels like there's nothing going on below the surface - but this is still a fun, awe-inspiring and lavish eight hours of game that delivers plenty of its own style and flavour and is a fine addition to a busy genre.

You’ve a solid game that, whilst incredibly similar to its forerunner, brings the series up to date, especially in such a historic US election. Just don’t expect too much deviation as every play-through is anything but a winding road.

An enjoyable yet flawed action game. It takes a while to get going, but once it does the swinging mechanics come into their own and there’s plenty of fun to be had over its six hour runtime. There are just too many roadblocks stopping it from becoming great, and that’s the worst disservice of all.

Where Giant Sparrow's narrative vision is clearly focused, The Unfinished Swan's gameplay deviates rather rapidly from that opening castle of wonder.

It feels a little lightweight given that most of its content can be played within two or three hours, but the online modes are perpetually enjoyable and unlocking everything will require a moderate time investment.

If you have the patience and memory to save often, Fallout 3 DLC doesn’t get any better than this.

Gets some things right, but if the poor AI and numerous glitches were ironed out then it could have been one of the finest tours of duty around. As it stands, it's an excellent multiplayer game that just can't compete with some of its rivals.

Black Ops is an excellent entry into the series, even if it is fairly inconsequential.

Twisted Dreams brings back an unlikely product of a derivative time and gives it unique life. It's a positive early argument for Kickstarter revivals and while it still works in known quantities, it provides a hellishly difficult and sweet platformer that finally provides a non-ironic reason to enjoy the Giana Sisters.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare's focus on melee combat with lots of people might frustrate some, but it's an impeccably designed system that throws a huge curveball at anyone who thinks they've mastered the controls.

The Legend of Kage 2 may have missed its mark, but we can always hope for something better next time.

The controls are confusing and encumbering but they're not impossible to get used to so, given a bit of dedication you might just find that you budding generals out there might get all the right buttons pushed with this game.

Bejeweled 2 sits perfectly alongside the likes of echochrome or Cuboid as one of the better puzzlers on PSN. It's apparent that the PS3 is not the most ideal fit for a game such as this, but SOE have done the best job possible in porting the game over.

Ultimately, your enjoyment of Slamjet Stadium will depend on your respect for rules - not ‘the’ rules, but the basic notion that games should have them.

With such terrible pacing, you might not want to continue. But if you do, you'll be treated to a solid, if underdeveloped platformer. Patience is a virtue.

The graphics are by far the best part of the game, but the new stylish camera techniques and gameplay ideas will interest Star Wars fans who don't mind some artistic experimentation with the series. All in all, Lethal Alliance is a good, if unremarkable, outing on the floundering system.

Guncraft is addictive and ambitious. Exato has achieved a real feat in utilising Minecraft’s template in such innovative ways. The potential for creativity and its pure gameplay should make Guncraft a hub of imagination once it becomes more populated and utilised.

It’s definitely more fun than it has any right to be, but its lasting appeal is seriously questionable.

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition is a solid collection for anyone still nostalgic for Duke’s brand of gory antics or those wanting to test their mettle against the corridor shooters of old.

Gameplay usually isn’t the most important feature in an RPG, but in Suikoden IV it just drags an otherwise "great" RPG into the realm of "slightly above average."

Perhaps The Missing Link's biggest offense is that it feels like the safe, easy way to go with Human Revolution's DLC.

The cliffhanger ending promises brighter things, and although this game is unspectacular, the groundwork has been laid down for what will hopefully be a greatly improved sequel.

It's hard not to admire this 2007 PSP game for what it's worth, but it simply doesn't develop its assets far enough.

It may be a little short but the replayability comes in from the extra difficult levels and their newly gained in-game bonus features.

This really typifies the message which From Dust projects. The natural world is unfathomably more complex and diverse than man can comprehend and so fighting against it is like holding sand – eventually, it'll slip though your fingers.

It never quite feels like you get as much bang for your buck as previous expansions.

What it will do, however, is allow you blast through ten or so hours of adrenaline-pumping scripted sequences with plenty of impressively rendered mythological beasties.

While it doesn't cover any new ground and isn't pushing the DS in any way, it's a fun and easy to get into puzzle platformer that will keep you hooked if you give it enough time- especially if you play around with the level editor.

This isn't the definitive Bond experience and you sure as hell won't be grabbed by the story, but for those times when you feel like taking on the world in style, this is it.

Crimson Gem Saga proves just how much better a game can be if it doesn’t take itself too seriously.

While the core gameplay is fundamentally the same, Puyo Pop Fever just didn’t grab me like "Puyo Pop" on the GBA did. It’s still a good game, but there are a few other puzzlers on the DS that I think are worth your time over this one.

Shadow Hearts has its share of flaws, no doubt. The graphics are weak and the battle system grows monotonous quickly. Fortunately, the unique setting and above-average storyline makes this one worth checking out.

It's a simple game, reminiscent of a simpler time. Minus the quarters.

Dementium II spins an interesting, albeit simple, horror narrative on the DS. It's unlike anything else on the hardware and is a perfect example of stylus use done right. It's held back by a few half baked ideas, easy enemies and some questionable sound design, but still delivers a compelling, bite size horror experience.

Impossible Road’s fundamentals are so crisply constructed, so itchingly compelling that its lack of iteration doesn’t completely sour the experience.

This comes back to my initial concern about the 'Buy' feature. It's not an issue if it doesn't affect game balance but when it does then there is cause for concern. Other than this gripe, it's a great game.

Overlord 2 is bursting with good ideas, but a more disciplined approach to the game would have been more welcome.

While the campaign is nothing to keep you entertained after a couple of play-throughs the well put together online mode will have you playing for much longer. Resistance will fit snugly in any PS3 owner’s collection.

You might have been to the city before, but in Burial at Sea, it remains as alluring a creation as it ever was.

It’s still not particularly polished, however, as I experienced a couple of crashes and some audio glitches with character speech, but other than that this is a fairly solid expansion that captures what makes Fallout 3 so good.

Stubbs might be left craving a few more brains and he might have wished that he could have done a little bit more than just feast and fart, but I think that by the time Punchbowl and love have been conquered, Stubbs is reasonably satisfied with the second chance he was given for life and love.

But Lego Harry Potter does succeed in being perhaps the best videogame outing for either franchise thus far.

While not a groundbreaking game, it's interesting on its own merits, with a good setting and a colorful personality to match.

Dante’s Inferno starts off big, consistently introducing new enemy types and grand environments, but by the end of the game that initial excitement turns to repetition as you fight through wave after wave of the same enemy type in increasingly familiar territory.

Despite the shiny graphics, catchy music and long-awaited additions and tweaks, PES is showing its age as it's flogged again for another year. It's a great experience, the best we've got so far in fact, but is more of a small step than the giant leap we were once again really hoping for.

It's a solid game regardless of its franchise, and for Sonic that's as much of a breakthrough as anyone could hope for.

That's what Sonic 4 is all about: trying to be new while recapturing those fleeting moments of brilliance from the old Genesis titles.

Though Rochard's influences are quite evident, the final result is a unique, thoughtful puzzle platformer.

Just another pretty good game.

What's truly shocking is the fact that there is a real, substantiated horror experience tucked behind its Kinect veneer.

Despite its shortcomings – even the game-stopper bugs – it simulates almost perfectly the experiences of a typical schoolchild, despite being ridiculously over-the-top in almost every manner.

It’s fun, it gets the job done, but it fails to genuinely improve on any of the overall Worms experience.

Zeno Clash is a marvel, channeling yesterday’s hardcore brawlers whilst maintaining modern sensibilities.

Even after a few years, Onimusha: Warlords is a decent game with some truly impressive qualities. Sadly, it’s also impressive how short this game manages to be.

Depending on the player's level of experience with the series, F1 2012 is either a sincere virtual representation of the world's most technical sport in a substantial package, or a finely-tuned forward and sideways step in the reinterpretation of F1 2011.

If you played Resident Evil: Revelations on the 3DS these new features probably aren’t enough to make you want to pick it up again, and they shouldn’t be. This is a game meant for new players, especially those disillusioned with the series’ recent direction.

The missions provide plenty of challenge with a steep learning curve and little forgiveness. Even the multiplayer provides a decent demonstration of what the WiiMote can do. The only truly awful aspects come with the horrendously crafted controls and camera.

The controls are somewhat sloppy and perhaps a bit more time could have been spent on shoring up the artwork but above all else Grabbity is an entertaining game which will keep you coming back to your phone or tablet for another go.
