Very enjoyable and easy to pick up and play. With a story that’s interesting and game play that is simple but fun, you’ll get hooked pretty quickly.

Legasista sometimes feels a bit repetitive and I never felt emotionally invested in the story (despite the charming and even emotional theme). But with plenty of depth, nicely drawn characters and enemies, solid control, and that aforementioned "addictive gene," there's a lot to like.

Beatmania US just isn't the game it should be, bottom line.

A must for fans of the anime and could very well appeal to any Vita player looking for an Eastern styled action RPG. It's not trying to be much more than a “beat the level, the boss, then advance” game but then that's probably what its fans are looking for.

I do think the online component is rather decent, but the single-player campaign isn't enjoyable, thanks to the game's rubbish speed.

Overall, MediEvil caters more towards the die-hard fans of the franchise by delivering a near-identical experience with incredibly updated audio-visual presentation, but I firmly believe it will serve as a great introduction for new players as well. I’m sincerely hopeful that this remaster is successful, because I want to see more of Gallowmere in the future, not less.

All in all, NCAA March Madness 08 is not a bad game, it's just yet another bad PS3 port.

The game strikes the right chord and that chord doesn't lose its appeal; it stays in tune throughout and somehow manages to remain pleasing and amusing.

Doesn’t quite live up to expectations. The separate platforming and music elements provide us with a solid foundation, but neither element receives the benefit of extra attention from the developers.

Just Cause is fun for a little while, and if you get sucked into the atmosphere and style, you just might finish it. But there are too many pitfalls that routinely impede your enjoyment.

The best poker video game available for home consoles. Sure, it'd be nice if the presentation were flashier, and if the game offered more configuration options, but the poker itself is damn near perfect. That's what matters most.

Perhaps the best way to describe this game is to say the campaign is worthy of no more than a 7, while the multiplayer is around an 8. But if you're more anal and susceptible to the problems I outlined in this review, you'll find the single-player element even more tiresome, and if you're one of those veteran fans I just mentioned, you may have other reservations.

All told, WRC: World Rally Championship doesn't break any new ground, but it is, nevertheless, a solid rally racer.

Do Not Fall can be frustrating, especially during later levels, and I did have a few small issues with the somewhat floaty control. Despite the nice additions, it also feels repetitive, which may be unavoidable. However, there’s lots to like.

Web of Shadows certainly exceeded my expectations. Shaba Games and Treyarch has done a great job bringing back the Spider-Man franchise to its rightful glory yet again. With a much smoother game engine, coupled with fantastic combat, great swinging mechanics, an enormous world, and good replay value, Web of Shadows should finally satisfy fans after the abysmal disappointment that was Spider-Man 3.

Solid game + hilarious translation + cheap price = MUST BUY.

Gotham Knights would be a great game, its sandbox approach to exploring Gotham is top-notch and its story keeps you just engaged enough to keep playing. The problem lies in the game’s lackluster combat and endless fighting cycles of beating up the same factions over and over and over with little to no variation to dialogue.

The variations of backgrounds and objects is what makes it worthwhile in my eyes, but I’m willing to admit this may not be the opinion of others.

There is a ton of love put into this game, it has a solid base of gameplay behind everything that functions nicely. The overall story of a night lord that needs defeating and saints and half demon fighters on the other side may not be anything new but within that shell is a love story to behold and lastly the things that keep this game from a higher rating do not diminish the experience enough for those who have been Gust fans in the past. It may be action but it's still very, well Gust-y.

Sniper Elite III is a step in the right direction. We've still got a ways to go but the improvements here are obvious and appreciated, and greatly enhances the fun factor and general quality.

The DOOM 3 BFG Edition still boasts some decent thrills here and there, it controls fine, and the atmosphere remains impressive. However, id Software didn't do enough (if they did anything) to upgrade the presentation, so we're left with glaringly old-fashioned technical elements that hinder the quest at every turn.

The whole experience is far too short, the gameplay’s underwhelming, and other than the rendered scenes, the graphics seldom look better than a Dreamcast game.

All in all, MX vs. ATV Untamed is not a product you want to spend $60 on. In fact, it's not even a product you'd want to spend $20 on. The bottom line here is that this is a very poorly done game, that suffers from uninspired gameplay, poor track design, redundancy, and a lacking online component.

It’s probably worth the purchase if you’ve got a kid who happens to be a big baseball fan, and that means that 2K and Konami hit their goal. …kind of.

All in all, for a mere $30, whether on your PSP or PS2, The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga is a fantastic deal for a series of fantastic games.

Indeed a better version of the original released last year. There are several significant improvements, but none of them are enough to vault the game into the enviable "buy-it-now" category.

What a horrible experience this was. Whatever minuscule redeeming qualities this game might have are drowned out by just how infuriating it is. And I can’t think of anybody who is a fan of this franchise that can honestly call this game good with a straight face. Get this game if you’re a fan of the series, but don’t be surprised if it just ends up making you hate yourself for waiting nearly two decades for what is essentially the video game equivalent of Freddy Got Fingered.

I'm disappointed in its lack of cohesiveness in terms of story, its lack of stability and solidarity in terms of technical stuff, and the missed opportunities. At the same time, I never seem to tire of looting the most difficult-to-approach treasure caches, and Garrett is a suitably entertaining character.

HyperParasite is a frenetic, fast-paced roguelike that is not for the faint of a casual’s heart. Its uncompromising action keeps you on a razer’s edge, and the sixty characters ensure every playthrough is not the same. But most importantly, it is a pitch-perfect love letter to the 1980s. Now, terror has no shape.

Aside from the $50 price tag, which we think may be too high, it's a straightforward and lighthearted game that the little ones should enjoy quite a bit.

Mindlessly repetitive, the control is smooth but somewhat loose (standing and aiming is the best way to progress, which seems silly), and a quest system that is hardly inspired. It's just too frustrating and underwhelming to be considered for a purchase, in my opinion.

CounterSpy is a nicely designed and presented game with a lot of appeal. You’ll have a lot of fun sneaking through these challenging military installations, and you’ll appreciate the character customization and relative depth.

The Godfather II, although a bit easy and not nearly as long as it should be, is still a great sandbox game that fans of the genre will enjoy wholeheartedly. It boasts solid control mechanics, from on-foot gameplay, to fighting, to gun play, and to car control. The missions are always a lot of fun, even if they can be a bit repetitive, because the game does a good job of conveying the life of a mafioso.

Better detailing, smoother frame rate, and a more fully realized Career Mode. But in many other ways, it fails to advance the new series to new heights and in the end, it's very much the same game with a slightly flashier wrapping. That's not what we wanted or expected from this game, but even so, Battlelines does have plenty of appeal.

It's almost always fun to reminisce, but how can you reminisce when you never experienced it in the first place? ...get what we're saying, Taito? If you're an old-school gaming fan, you should probably check it out, but examine that list above first. That's really the only requirement.

Despite its massive terrain, a barren game world, a poorly structured and limited scope prevents Fuel from being anything worth your time.

When this game drops down to about $20, it'll probably be worth picking up for Sega fans.

The entire game will take you about 10-15 hours, but you may grow tired of running around in circles, completing menial tasks.

MVP’s a solid game that does a nice impersonation of a PS2 title, but its got a number of flaws and missing features that make 989’s "MLB," not MVP, the baseball game to have for the PSP this year.

It's a mediocre offering of baseball that does little to fix the issues that plagued 2K7. A.I. is still questionable, and sliders don't help alleviate the issues. Mode offerings desperately need a rookie-superstar mode of some sort, and the overall feel of the game is in dire need of polish.

The atmosphere pulls you into the experience thanks to fantastic dinosaurs and great sound, being given the choice between straight-up gunning and stealth is most appreciated (the bow rules!), and the efforts made for accurate momentum physics don't go unnoticed. All of this means the positives outweigh the negatives by a large amount.

Worth the small price tag.

Compared to all of the other racers out there--kart, arcade, or simulation--it's definately at the bottom of the list.

A solid, albeit formulaic action game that you should take or leave depending on how important things like story and humor are to you. Love to laugh? Get this game.

This very simple and straightforward format may turn off older players in the first hour but the younger crowd may enjoy it plenty.

An artistic, entertaining game that doesn't quite reach a necessary level of accomplishment and refinement. The adventure feels a little too repetitive and the extra moves don't necessarily add depth, as they feel more cosmetic than anything else. The control and camera can be iffy and even frustrating, and you may feel overmatched. But I urge those who enjoy the art style and presentation seen in available media to give it a try.

Castaway Paradise has a lot of potential to be a fun game. It’s relaxing and satisfying in the same way that some good mobile games and Animal Crossing are. The cycle of completing tasks, rebuilding, and customizing works pretty good. It’s not as in depth as other games of this genre however. And despite all the charm it eventually falls a bit short of being really good.

A one trick pony--a no-frills wrestling game that tries to compensate for its lack of modes and options by providing all-out titillation. If that's what you're looking for, then, by all means, rush out and buy this game. You won't be disappointed. Just don't expect a rich experience underneath the jiggling flesh.

The bottom line is that Commando 3 is worth the $10. It may not be extremely epic or infinitely replayable, but it's certainly fun enough that you'll likely keep coming back to time and time again.

It's simple, really- if you want a focused, in-depth flying simulator that puts most all emphasis on intricate gameplay, your game is right here.

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy could’ve been a really good game, but it ends up floundering beneath a pile of stats and character management.

This is an okay title, and maybe worth the twenty bucks if you're looking for a simple, fun, yet flawed old-school 2D fighter.

So, curse you Konami, for releasing "Frogger: Ancient Shadow" [PS2], which made me scream and throw my controller, and thank you Konami, for releasing Frogger: Helmet Chaos, which I had some fun with.

Role-playing enthusiasts will probably deem it too underdeveloped for their tastes, but Neopets fanatics and younger players should come away satisfied.

A decent puzzler that is humorous, relatively well written and presented, and plenty challenging. The spiking difficulty due to puzzles that simply seem bizarre and obscure can stop you in your tracks but hey, isn't that a common trait of the genre?

The Last Tinker: City of Colors is like the nicest kid in school. He’s not the best athlete or student; he’s just nice and because of that, you want to like him. To some extent, you do. But he still isn’t picked first in gym and he doesn’t ace all his tests.

Shing! is a beat ’em up with a few good ideas and facets to admire. While many of its ambitions aren’t executed in the best of ways, Shing! serves as a decent distraction with friends. Its four-player cooperation, competent if iffy combat, and polished art style make it an okay journey for its humble several hours of playtime.

This is one hell of a stress reliever.

The story is just a bunch of barely understandable gibberish, the characters feel tired and overdone, and the “streamlining” of the combat is only the equivalent of dumbing-down. Nothing more.

Too many times, it just feels as if you don’t have total control over what’s going on during a match, and the AI is questionable.

City of Brass is a beautiful, highly-polished and mostly successful attempt at turning the genre on its head by making it more accessible to everyone, from rogue-lite veterans to first time players. With a unique and intuitive new combat style and some innovative takes on genre conventions, you’ll find plenty to like about City of Brass no matter what your skill level.

Arena Football seems like a good idea on paper, but the execution of the idea is miserable.

The controls are slow and clunky, the technicals are passable but never really shine, the story and progression through the game is erratic, and we think the potion making part will prove frustrating for some of the title’s audience.

Magic Ball isn’t quite as innovative as other PSN games out there and it certainly won’t test your brain, but it’s a decent downloadable title that may deserve your attention.

Need for Speed is a fun, accessible racer that’s both aesthetically impressive and technically stable. The always-online requirement means server problems can affect your game and oh yeah, you can’t pause, either. I’m sorry but it just wasn’t necessary.

A lot of great concepts…too many great concepts, in fact, and the charming exterior and good control can't save it. And what's this about no online multiplayer? Really?

Does a lot of things well, even if the pacing, depth, and overall immersion isn't where it needs to be. The basic control for each event is mostly intuitive and solid, there are a ton of events, using Move adds a lot to the gameplay, and skill supersedes luck (as well it should, of course). The technical elements are pretty good, too. We just require more in the way of "oomph," more reasons to keep the player coming back for more.

There’s definitely a bit of lag when playing online but it’s also a big bonus and certainly the biggest addition to the franchise in question.

Despite the mechanical and control issues, the apparent cheapness of some of the many deaths, and a few poor decisions, the game does have at least some appeal.

Superstars V8 Racing works hard. It strives to be a true-blue simulator that sacrifices a few things here and there for the sake of its digital format and price tag. For the most part, it doesn't do a bad job.

Ultimately, the game's biggest flaw is its duration. Most players will only need two or three hours to complete the final level.

The mission structure is broken, and the missions can be very short. The online, while fun, is incomplete. And the visuals leave something to be desired.

Diner Dash is good…I think. It’ll tick you off but again, that’s good…I think. Maybe you’ll just have to play it to fully understand.

Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland is a darn good RPG with an admitted emphasis on item creation, which won't be alien to those familiar with the Mana Khemia or past Atelier titles.

There are so many places that just scream out for more attention; I couldn’t play for more than 15 minutes without going, “oh come on; that could’ve been awesome!” There’s just always something that reared its ugly head and it’s absolutely unavoidable.

In the end, this title really isn’t half bad. If only beating Billy senseless during the end credits wasn’t the most fun we had with the game.

I decided to slug through about a dozen events before tossing in the towel on campaign, particularly because all the events are nearly identical.

Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle has all the elements and aspects of a solid strategy/RPG, and despite the fact that it's more than a few years old, it delivers what it promises. Unfortunately, the whole thing feels a little more muddled than it should've been.

An amusing game that loses its appeal all too quickly. The adventure is mostly fluid, as is the combat and platforming elements, and the storyline isn't too bad, but the rest is just generic, cut-and-paste design.

Rango is a worthwhile experience for everyone who loved the movie. The length is sufficient, the presentation, gameplay, and atmosphere is all quite good, and the lighthearted style remains entertaining throughout.

If you want a break from the hectic and edge-of-your-seat intensity found in the blockbusters, give your brain a chance to churn.

NASCAR 09 may not be an extremely pretty game to look at, but it's certainly not ugly. What it lacks in eye-candy, it makes up for a solid NASCAR experience that enthusiasts of the sport should really enjoy.

The Baconing is a competent, fun, and mostly diverse title with plenty of kooky humor. It's a decent option for those who never played DeathSpank, and if you did play the first game, you'll probably like the similarities found in the sequel.

It is a good story and is touching. It’s just not going to be for everyone as a game.

The game is riddled with immense potential that is overshadowed by a myriad of amateur flaws that should've never been there in the first place. With poor a camera that is also permanently inverted, lack of depth, little replay value, poor platforming elements, and brutal difficulty in some boss battles, Afro Samurai is better off left alone.

Tekken Hybrid has the nostalgia fans will adore, I'm sure. For that reason alone, I suppose I can recommend it to the die-hard followers.

It's almost too accessible, even on the regular difficulty setting.

But in the end, if you’ve ever played a strat/RPG, you won’t be surprised by what you find in Eternal Poison.

Fairy Fencer F is a big step forward for Compile Heart but not quite the realization of what these kinds of games are capable of in terms of quality.

There are some rather solid qualities that can be found, and they come alive when you're playing online, but even the multiplayer suffers from a lack of depth and features. Quantum of Solace doesn't break the mold of bad movie to game adaptations.

It’s such a shame to see the state of this franchise in 2018. Dynasty Warriors deserved better than this, and I hope Omega Force gets another shot to do this franchise justice, because this is not how the tales of the Three Kingdoms should end.

This isn't one of those games that'd you'd pawn of for being an entirely wasted effort, but it doesn't really strive to lift itself above mediocrity.

Nothing seems catastrophically bad but at the same time, nothing seems right, either. This game feels and looks very, very outdated and anyone who plays it will recall many games that did something better; we've seen far better role-playing, action, and stealth mechanics and in all honesty, I doubt this game would've been considered anything special even four or five years ago.

My main lament, and it goes for most games of this type, is that once the action starts you never feel like a giant robot mobile suit, just a normal sized character.

StarDrone is one of those well-conceived, nicely produced downloadable games with a lot of simple flash and a ton of accessibility…at first, at least.
