Marko: Beyond Brave has a lot of potential, with its delve into Slavic mythology coupled with a lovely art style. Unfortunately, it has substantial issues with all of the main elements of a Metroidvania, giving it an unfinished feel.

Tiny Battles should have been a fun auto battler. However, it is full of issues and will leave you disappointed. The reliance on luck and little judgement is a bitter pill to swallow. Accordingly, you will tire of the action long before you should.

In summary, while “Hive Jump 2: Survivors” doesn’t reinvent the genre, it offers a solid, enjoyable experience for fans of bullet-hell roguelites. Its jetpack mechanic adds a unique touch to the action, and the upgrade system provides enough depth to keep players coming back for more. However, the limited weapon and map variety, along with some restrictive mechanics, hold it back from being truly exceptional.

If you’re into some genuinely nice looking grass, trees, rocks, etc, and don’t mind mediocre rhythm-puzzle gameplay, go ahead and give Melobot a try. Otherwise, you’re not missing much.

Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 is a fun but oddly addictive simulation experience. Though the action is repetitive and rudimentary, I couldn't put it down! I loved the methodical approach and the never-ending ships. However, the poor graphics, OTT sound effects, and limited storyline hold this back.

Funko Fusion is a whacky and amusing 3D adventure title. Like LEGO, this game demands that you explore small arenas while controlling your favourite protagonist. However, unlike LEGO, it lacks polish. Accordingly, some glitches and bugs hold it back. Once these issues are ironed out, this will be a great, albeit repetitive experience.

While there are several hiccups, it is hard to imagine a 3D platformer not having them anyhow. Also, there are two potential endings you can receive. One is a miraculous finale against fate, and the other has the crew succumbing to a bitter end. So, be wise players. Guayota is a monstrous entity to behold.

Train Sim World 5 is a fantastic simulation experience. The incredible tutorial will get you up and running in no time. Alternatively, if you are familiar with the franchise, you can pick up where you left off. The inclusion of major new features improves the already reliable and strong foundations. If you want to drive a train or sell tickets, then this is the game for you.

The Casting Of Frank Stone is an evolution of the formula Supermassive Games have been cultivating for years. A strong diverse cast with wonderful voice acting helps propel the intense and chilling moments on display in this horror tale. Great quality of life improvements and innovations create strong benchmarks for interactive games. Whilst a rushed and muddled final act and the lack of co-op hurt the games overall appeal, there’s more than enough for horror fans to enjoy. Dead By Daylight fans will have an absolute blast with this game, as I did. See you in the fog!

Koboo: The Tree Spirit is a good looking game, with an important message. Unfortunately, the gameplay sells it short. Unbalanced combat and unsatisfying platforming drag things down.

Raging Loop is a visual novel game that brings you into a village in the middle of a game of Werewolf. However, there are actual wolves and people die. The unfortunate part about this game is that it took a while before I felt like I was having fun. Watching NPCs play a game of werewolf isn’t the most fun start to the game, but once you can impact how the werewolf games play out, I felt myself become a lot more invested. The characters are interesting, and the different branching paths encourage you to go back and play through the game over and over again. Visual novel fans looking for a fun story with multiple endings and a social deduction game should check out Raging Loop.

Operator 112 is a fun but challenging experience. The simple concept can be deceiving, but the never-ending problems and management elements keep you busy. If you love hectic action, then you'll enjoy this tactical simulation game.

Despite it not being my cup of tea, Squad 44 looks promising, especially with recent updates and continued support from the developers. If you’re a fan of online multiplayer tactical FPS and WWII history, Squad 44 is worth your time.

Additionally, it demands that you help your neighbours as you progress. Though this wholesome approach may not appeal to everyone, I adored the feel-good factor. Ember Knights excels in practically every element. However, the poor story was disappointing. If you can look past this issue, you'll enjoy one of the best rogue-like titles I've experienced. It is colourful, fast-paced and wonderfully challenging.

The simplicity may be off putting, but I enjoyed the user-friendly approach. The limited gameplay will appeal to a niche audience and the repetitive action may disappoint some.

While it suffers from a strange fascination with minigames, Leximan skillfully stitches together its many parts. A good sense of humour, nice writing and an enjoyable, if somewhat unexplored, central mechanic make Leximan a delight to play.

The Lullaby of Life is a cozy, sound-based puzzle game tackling the complexities of creation and evolution with the simplest of gameplay.

Cartel Tycoon is a fine simulation title. The light-hearted story and interesting characters break the mould. Furthermore, the varied missions and challenging action will push genre veterans. As such, there is something for everyone.

Artifice: War Tactics is an odd blend of Xcom and chess. This hybrid approach may frustrate purists, but I loved the rogue-like mechanics and the challenging gameplay. Additionally, it works perfectly on Steam Deck.

Whilst the story of TimeMelters is not much to shout home about, the game’s fantastic time-altering mechanics and strategy focus make this game unique and such damn fun at times! A robust skill tree and fun co-op help create longevity and great soundtrack and audio design help you immerse yourself in the fantasy world of Hogendale. Whilst it’s a shame its presentation is lacking and its enemy design is forgettable, it’s still worth your time due to how much of a blast the game can be.

White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies doesn't quite fulfil my expectations. However, when it excels, it is a fascinating horror experience. Sadly, though, it doesn't quite live up to its predecessor. Additionally, it is reasonably repetitive, and the jump scares are predictable as a consequence. If you can put the shortcomings to one side, you'll adore the atmospheric audio design and the exceptional puzzles. Furthermore, there are multiple endings to enjoy if you can work through the pain.

Closer The Distance is a hard game to get through. Not because it is difficult but because of the emotional rollercoaster it took me on. Each character has their grief that the player has to help them through, and the interactions between the various characters in Yesterby are intricate and complicated. It’s a powerful narrative, held back by some clunky controls on the console and some lulls in the gameplay. The game is still vital in pushing game narratives in directions that I don’t see too often. This game is worth checking out if you can handle the emotional journey it takes you on.

Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord is a spectacular remake! If you are a lover of dungeon crawling games, then this remake of an acclaimed 80s title will be right up your street. It is cruel, fun, rewarding, and wonderfully retro.

Metal Slug Attack Reloaded gets the balance just right. Though the action can be repetitive and there is a sense of grind, I loved it regardless. This wonderfully dated title is perfect for casual and marathon gaming sessions.

The mind map was fascinating, and I loved the combination of slow exploration and QTEs. Unfortunately, some graphical issues and sluggish controls hold it back.

Ultimately, this game is a mixed bag. Its combat is addictive and well-designed, offering plenty of content, secrets, and mechanics to keep players engaged. However, the lack luster graphics, at times frustrating enemy design, and odd gameplay choices hold it back from reaching its full potential. Nobody Wants To Die is everything I wanted it to be and more. It felt like a 1920’s detective thriller in the future and I loved every second of the mysterious twisting story that had me gripped until the very end. Stunning visuals that can compete with any AAA game on the market and a gorgeous soundtrack that helps heighten the tension and mood really seal this game as one of my favourite experiences this year. Its linear structure will not be for everyone and its short length left me wanting much more. But for a first attempt for Critical Hit games, this is a slam dunk. I just hope they return to this fantastic retro-futuristic world they have created.

However, if you can battle through the learning curve and enjoy the layers of luck, you will adore every gritty moment. My only complaint is things can feel very unfair when luck isn't on your side!

Bounty Hunter 2024 didn't float my boat. Sadly, I don't think it will resonate with modern audiences and that is a shame. However, if you love the original, or you adore Star Wars, you will fall for its dated charms. Not a game for me, but you may love to explore this sci-fi world.

This is a real-time combat genre-defining piece and deserves a lot of praise from gamers. There is no need to go into the nitty gritty because, in the end, only one thing matters. Veritus is a beautiful Pixel-art game with very fun Action- RPG/ puzzle elements and I recommend it.

Spider-Man 2 is what we want from a sequel, a much better story building on the foundations that the previous versions built, improving the gameplay in every possible way while the previous games are already among the best in terms of gameplay, using all the PS5’s powers and turning the game into a completely next-gen game, next-gen visuals, extraordinary and non-repetitive level design, deep characterization at the disposal of the story, use of dualsense’s features, much more entertaining boss fights, much better cutscenes and much better animations.

Firewall: ultra is not an exceptional game like the first version and the most important game of the platform it was released on. But it’s definitely entertaining and fun (especially with friends) and you can spend a lot of time in it.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is visually the best game I have ever played, and in terms of gameplay, it is enjoyable for me, although it may not be for everyone. But the story is the biggest weakness of the game, and I don’t think the story will be great in Someone’s opinion and it may just be the difference between those who say it’s mid and those who say it’s bad. But in different ways, this game completely shows off the power of the 9th generation console.

The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

Hogwarts Legacy has a great character design and could have had a great story too but the story is not so strong. the gameplay feels great and exploration is so entertaining. visually its great and Hogwarts castle is so detailed.

Hidden Through Time 2 is a fun-filled 2D hidden object game. Furthermore, it is great for youngsters and adults alike. Can you explore each of the worlds and find every object? Manipulate night and day and discover every secret.

Zenless Zone Zero feels like a fresh take on a genre that Hoyoverse has done already. Its setting feels unique, and its combo-centric combat allows players to experiment and express their playstyles through team compositions and combo theory. All while maintaining what makes a Hoyoverse game unique: its cast of fun characters and stellar combat. The learning curve for this game is steeper, and the roster is thin out of the gate. For those looking for an action game to stick with for a while, Zenless Zone Zero is worth checking out.

Kingdom's Dungeon Rage is a wonderfully simple but often cruel platform experience. 180+ levels stand before you and freedom. Each of these stages differs slightly, and it is this eye for detail and mundane approach that makes and breaks this title. If you love to have your buttons pushed, you'll adore every moment. However, if you hate repetitive and harsh action, this will really annoy you.

The Night of the Rabbit is a magical, point-and-click adventure featuring the young Jeramiah Hazelnut, who is recruited as a magician's apprentice under the Marquise de Hoto, a mysterious rabbit figure with a mysterious past.

Slayers X truly is a throwback to the past. For players seeking a retro arcade shooter, all the ingredients are here but with added vulgarity and punk rock mayhem. This is never going to blow people away with its gameplay and visuals but it doesn’t care and I can truly admire a game that just wants to have fun. Whilst the story is forgettable, the soundtrack kept me wanting to replay levels just to hear those songs again. In a gaming world where developers are constantly trying to iterate and innovate, it is bizarrely refreshing to experience a game that is so old school. See you in the 90’s!

The gameplay is fast and enjoyable, the variety of weapons and enemies is very good, but the high speed of giving weapons to the player so early, the lack of balance in their power and other problems in the gameplay make it not very enjoyable.

Mr Prepper: Animal Farm DLC is a great addition to the base game. However, it doesn't tackle the issues I previously experienced. This was frustrating as the developer should have tightened things up. Yet, if you can ignore these problems, you'll enjoy the aliens and the farming-related madness.

Stolen Hearts: Wolf Knight is a precision platformer that is tough but fair. Furthermore, the gameplay evolves as you absorb the power of each creature you kill. This added mechanic changes the way you think and the surrounding world. However, if you lack patience, this won't be the game for you.

Galactic Glitch is a sci-fi-inspired rogue-like that is fun but often cruel. This physics-based experience will test your luck, patience, and skills as you flit from node to node. Moreover, you will have to grind away as upgrades and progress don't come easily.

If I was to sum up my time and thoughts on The Land Beneath Us, I would say it has been addictive and absorbing. With the roguelite mechanics, every time I died my first thought was, ‘I’m going back for more!’ The unique twist on turn-based combat made me love plotting my movements and attacking my foes. It’s a wonderful showcase on innovative combat design. Whilst there are some frustrations with sound design and some issues with movement sensitivity, this game is more than worth your while. Great visuals, character design and a strong soundtrack help see this game home. A great indie game for a steal of a price. See you in the underworld!
