Cats and the Other Lives is a fantastic pixel art point-and-click adventure. Moreover, it twists the perspective as you play the role of the family cat. Can you explore your surroundings and piece together the dark and sinister past?

Dust and Neon is a fun and testing twin-stick shooter. However, it doesn't do enough to outshine its peers. With short, sharp rounds and some interesting customisation, it is enjoyable to play.

Bahnsen Knights is a fantastic addition to the pixel pulps franchise. The incredible dialogue and grim aesthetic are captivating and tough to swallow. Additionally, the plot twists are unexpected and fascinating to experience.

Atlas Wept has a strong visual design that helps it touch on its core themes. Pain, loss and the desperate search for identity. It explores them well and has an interesting combat system to boot.

Dead Tomb is a classic point-and-click adventure title. Furthermore, it is filled with retro vibes that will make you smile. However, I wish it was longer as it is over far too quickly.

Food Truck Simulator is a game that has plenty of potential. However, game-breaking bugs prevent it from excelling. Moreover, you'll become frustrated as you repeatedly reload the game. Had there been no issues, this would have scored between 7 and 8 out of 10.

Three Minutes to Eight is a strange old-school point-and-click adventure. Its bizarre theme should be applauded. However, it rarely works. As such, you are left scratching your head throughout. Yet, I enjoyed the developers' desire to explore an unusual subject. As such, despite the shortcomings, I enjoyed it.

DESOLATIUM is an old-school point-and-click game that won't be for everyone. However, I enjoyed the challenging puzzles and the interesting story. Moreover, the graphics were good, and the acting was impressive. Accordingly, if you love the genre, or you want to try something different, this is the game for you.

Everhood: Eternity Edition is an old-school RPG that twists the narrative. This pixelated adventure is weird, challenging, and laced with rhythm-based madness. Additionally, you'll need razor-sharp reactions to see it through.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is an era-defining title that proves this franchise is getting better with age. Thanks to the incredible platforming mechanics and smooth combat, you'll fall for its spectacular charms. Additionally, the story is deep, interesting, and wonderfully captivating.

Time Walker: Dark World feels trapped between two genres. Too hands-off to be a proper RPG, too much inventory management to function like an idle game. I'm no lover of Auto Battlers but even disregarding that, Time Walker: Dark World's poor writing and overall blandness made it very unengaging.

Party Animals is a mindless and casual multiplayer experience. Furthermore, it is fun to join your friends as you punch, kick, and bully unsuspecting victims. However, the shameful in-game purchases are unforgivable.

Spellforce: Conquest of Eo is a turn-based strategy title that tries something new. However, it should have stuck with tried and tested mechanics. Yet, the change in genre is enjoyable and I loved the tactical nuance and the varied playstyles.

Overall, Universe for sale is a cute little narrative game that does a wonderful job of bringing you alongside its simple story, even if there are a few frustrations here and there.

Hand in Hand is a gorgeous walk through an intriguing world, even if I wasn't always sure what was going on. It has a great central gameplay idea but fumbles the execution with simplistic puzzles and frustrating boss fights.

Gangs of Sherwood is a cooperative action adventure title that had great potential. Unfortunately, strange mechanics and repetitive action hold it back. However, if you have a great group of friends, you can enjoy it casually.

SteamWorld Build is a fun and interesting city builder. Moreover, it remains faithful to the franchise. Additionally, the gameplay has a gentle learning curve and it is easy to play. However, the lack of difficulty and the short game length will disappoint some gamers.

Shivering Stones is a relaxing and shallow puzzle title. Unfortunately, much of the action outstays its welcome. Luckily, though, it is inexpensive and can be enjoyed casually.

Ad Infinitum is a weird but enjoyable adventure title. Moreover, its blend of realities and harsh monsters was wonderfully executed. Alongside this, it is reminiscent of Layers of Fear.

Finis is an unusual puzzle experience. Furthermore, it has some interesting ideas. However, it is flawed and this holds it back. Additionally, its short playtime and simple problems will frustrate you.

Cookie Cutter is a gory Metroidvania that is great for veterans and newcomers alike. With evolving gameplay and some classic genre tropes, this will keep you entertained. Furthermore, the mindless violence is captivating. However, it doesn't break the mould and that was disappointing.

Football Manager 2024 Console edition is a phenomenal addition to this much-loved franchise. Furthermore, its layers of depth and new gameplay options complement the tried and tested approach. Accordingly, it is addictive and tough to put down.

Aetheris is a visually wonderful strategy RPG with a strong core combat system. It doesn't quite blend its strategy half with its roguelite half, though, but it's an enjoyable ride full of lizard wizards.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a fantastic open-world adventure with a compelling story. Moreover, it is filled with intriguing quests and a fantastic world to explore. Additionally, learning new skills and discovering interesting animals and plants is fascinating. However, the monstrously large open world can be overwhelming.

Blood West is a cruel and tough stealth FPS. Moreover, its retro approach and slow-gameplay will appeal to older gamers. However, its brutal learning curve will put off many would-be fans.

House Flipper 2 is a great life-sim that will impress fans of the franchise. However, its catalogue isn't as impressive at its predecessor. Yet, with some time, this will change. Accordingly, though I wanted more furniture and building materials, I was impressed by the level of details and the fun tasks at hand.

Kona II: Brume is a dark and oppressive first-person narrative experience. Moreover, it outdoes its predecessor and will impress fans of the series. My only complaint is the uninspiring combat. This element felt like an afterthought and should have been better incorporated into the gameplay.

Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos is a fantastic addition to a much-loved franchise. With open-world elements and familiar farming mechanics, this is a wonderful game to play. The only negative is the action can be sparse and slow-paced.

Soul's Spectrum has a great central gameplay mechanic and a nice story built around it. It's held back by some RPG Maker jankiness and a general feeling of rushing through things. Still, the strong premise left me wanting more.

Astral Ascent is a tough and cruel rogue-like that'll test your patience and skills. Additionally, it is filled with lore, interesting characters, and fascinating level design. However, it is so tough that it'll defeat many gamers.

Make Way is a crazy racing game that can be enjoyed alone or with others. Moreover, the insane action doesn't stop until there is a winner. Therefore, you must build a never-ending race course that is filled with stunts, traps, weapons, and brutal corners. It is maddening, challenging, but oh so addictive.

A Perfect Day is a captivating visual novel. Moreover, the melancholy plot plods along at a comfortable rate. As such, this is a relaxing albeit repetitive title that surpassed my expectations. However, its laid-back approach will restrict its appeal.

Haunted House is a rogue-like title that focuses on stealth. Moreover, it utilises a repetitive gameplay loop and a simplistic approach. As such, this prevented it from excelling and that was disappointing. However, it is enjoyable on a rudimentary level and should be enjoyed casually.

TEVI offers up an adorable and fascinating world. The movement feels great, exploration is rewarding and the soundtrack is fantastic. Combat is unfortunately a bit too flat and unbalanced and there are a few tone issues. Still, TEVI is a cracking Metroidvania and the world is a delight to explore.

Back to the Future DLC is a fantastic addition to the base game. Moreover, the nostalgia-filled action will make you smile. Consequently, if you love either franchise, you'll adore this. However, the audio drove me crazy.

The Room is a classic for good reason. The nice puzzles and atmosphere have made the transition to the Switch relatively unscathed, though the controls have suffered a little.

Overpass 2 is a challenging racing title that won't be for everyone. However, if you like to push yourself to the limit then this is the game for you. Yet, a tough learning will put off many would-be gamers.

Truck and Logistics Simulator is a fun simulation experience. However, its lack of depth holds it back. Accordingly, this won't grab you like its peers. Instead, online action is where it excels. As such, if you have a great group of friends, you'll have a fantastic time.

Ebenezer and the Invisible World is a fine Metroidvania experience. However, it isn't as complicated as some of its peers. As such, veterans may not be as tested as they'd like. Yet, if you want an attractive and wholesome title, then this could be the game for you.

Norn9: Last Era is a large, good-looking second helping for fans of the series. It makes no attempts to convert outsiders, though, so if you have no investment then look elsewhere. The writing is a little iffy at times and the lack of gameplay is a shame, but the decision to further the character's stories is one to celebrate

Loddlenaut is a cute and relaxing adventure experience. Can you clean the ocean and save the aliens? Upgrade your equipment, discover new biomes, and save the day. I only wish that it was longer.

Bang-on Balls Chronicles is a crazy 3D platformer that entertains from the off. This colourful indie title is fantastic and puts its peers into its shadow. Accordingly, you cannot afford to miss this gem!

Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021 is a relaxing and enjoyable sim title. Moreover, there is plenty of depth. However, the riding elements of this title are woeful. Consequently, it undermines the rest of the gameplay.

Bluey: The Videogame is a fantastic child-friendly endeavour. What's more, it'll appeal to fans of the franchise. Accordingly, if you are looking for a challenging game, this isn't for you. However, if you want a straightforward, fun, and colourful affair, then this ticks every box.

Pretty and full of interesting people, My Time At Sandrock is a jack of all trades, master of none. It has a lot to do but is quite thinly spread. Still, it won't fail to put a smile on your face.

Call of Duty: MW3 is a fantastic multiplayer experience. However, its lack of originality and the short story mode were disappointing. However, if you love nostalgia-infused action, you'll adore every multiplayer map you play. Unfortunately, though, this is far from being the best COD title ever.

Beautiful and wonderfully clever, The Talos Principle 2 has a lot to say about both laser puzzles and the fundamental questions of humanity, even if it can't quite blend the two together.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder breathes fresh air into a long running series, bringing fun and nostalgia for new and old players alike.

Car Detailing Simulator is an addictive title that is tough to put down. Thanks to the variety of cars and tasks, you'll be kept busy throughout. However, annoying controls and tiresome bugs taint the end product.

Skautfold: Usurper is a tough Metroidvania and Souls-like hybrid. Consequently, it is cruel, unfair, and will drive you insane. However, if you can put up with its challenging ways, you'll discover a rewarding experience that will break your balls.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures is a child-friendly title that utilises some classic mechanics. However, it is a little tedious for older gamers. Consequently, don't expect too much depth. As such, my kids adored every straightforward moment.

Things move extremely slow and while we have the ability to bump things up to three times the normal speed, there was nothing that really encouraged me to take those next steps. Homeseek is fun when you are locked into the gameplay loops but the moment you hit that first bump in the road in regards to waiting on something, the flaws start to come out. This is a major make or break moment for those who are on the fence here and nothing is really done to persuade you into continuing the game.

Sonic Superstars is a phenomenal old-school title with a modern twist. Can you defeat Dr Eggman and save the day? Play it alone or team up with 3 other gamers. Either way, you'll love everything on offer.

Valthirian Arc 2 is a colourful adventure, base-building hybrid that demands attention to detail. Moreover, the turn-based combat has some tactical elements to keep you busy. However, the repetitive gameplay may disappoint some gamers.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is a strange visual novel that is wonderfully strange. Moreover, it has colourful characters and a phenomenal story. Alongside this, the musical element was powerful, impressive, and extremely bizarre. However, its approach is niche and this will alienate some gamers.

Chants of Sennaar is an intelligent linguistic title that oozes originality and charm. Moreover, its story is touching, interesting, and full of wonderful moments. Accordingly, this is one indie title that you do not want to miss.

The Smurfs 2 - The Prisoner of the Green Stone is a 3D adventure title that sticks to tried and tested mechanics. What's more, it has plenty of monsters, loads of crystals, and some simple puzzles. As such, it'll entertain you even if it occasionally outstays its welcome.

Revhead is a mixed bag racing title that bites off more than it can chew. Not only does it look terrible, but it sounds awful and handles like a bag of spanners. Moreover, it is confusing and there is no replay value or longevity. Consequently, this is one title to avoid.

The Gap is a brave and mostly effective stab at a deep, emotional story. The non-linear way the story is told is an effective use of the medium but its otherwise uninspired gameplay and short length do drag it down a touch.

Warm Snow is a cruel and tough rogue-lite endeavour. However, its unforgiving and random gameplay ensures that it is moreish and tough to put down. Furthermore, it has a wonderful aesthetic and an excellent control layout. My only complaint is the repetitive nature of the opening action.

Days of Doom is a new IP from Atari. However, it lacks originality, and it is unfortunately repetitive. Yet, if you love the genre and zombies, then there is enough to keep you happy.

Baby Shark: Sing and Swim Party is the perfect fun-filled title for your youngest munchkins. This cute as-hell game is filled with Baby Shark songs and will drive parents crazy. Furthermore, the addictive gameplay will make you keep playing even though you wish the music would just stop. Its only downside is that it is repetitive.

TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK - Expedition is an action-packed adventure title that is perfect for younger gamers. However, a lack of polish keeps it from excelling. Yet, if you love Transformers, you'll forgive the shortcomings and fall for the cliched gameplay.

Throughly unsettling in all the right ways, World of Horror is a callback to 80s adventures of old, with heavy doses of Junji Ito and Lovecraft. With grotesque art, excellent music and many mysteries and encounters to explore, it's sure to enthrall you.

The Grinch: Christmas Adventures is a fantastic and festive platforming experience. Furthermore, it is ideal for kids and lovers of Dr Seuss. Control either the Grinch or Max as you carry out a devious plan to destroy Christmas for the Whos. With easy-to-follow controls, whimsy audio, and hand-drawn imagery, this feels, sounds, and looks wonderful. Its only shortcoming is a lack of replay value.

Oaken is a tough rogue-lite turn-based strategy title. What's more, it sticks to a well-trodden path. As such, it will test the best gamers around whilst not breaking the mould. I loved the aesthetic, the fantasy theme, and the moreish gameplay. Yet, it has too much grind and that will put off many would-be fans.

Basketball and Roguelite prove to be an unexpectedly good match. Robodunk's core gameplay loop is enjoyable and I loved the little snippets of world-building that give everything an amusing depth. Its choice of aesthetics does play against it though, as it's often hard to differentiate players. On the whole though, it's a simple game that makes the most of what it's got.

Paw Patrol World is a PAWfect title for your little pups. Let them go it alone or join them in split-screen action. However you play it, you'll love the safe environment and easy-to-handle controls. What's more, the familiar characters will have your kids jumping for joy.

Boti: Byteland Overclocked is an adorable adventure for anyone looking to play through it alone or with a friend.

The Sisters 2 - Road to Fame is an action-packed child-friendly adventure title. However, it is tedious and repetitive if you are an adult. With colourful but flawed graphics and cringeworthy sound bites, this will drive you insane. Yet, your kids will cherish the adorable gameplay and the never-ending content.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a welcome attempt to reignite the spark of the older games in the series, refined by the techniques of the newer. Unfortunately, the end result is a shallow and poorly written affair, held up by an interesting setting and some thoughtful main missions.

Paleo Pines is a fun and adorable farming simulation title. Make friends with the locals and tame the dinosaurs to help run the farm. It is enjoyable, colourful, and great for kids. However, the poor controls and grinding gameplay hold it back.

Starfield is an epic work of science fiction wonder and is a true Bethesda RPG at its heart. The world is expansive, and the main story and all the side-quests are brilliantly crafted. The game looks amazing, has an incredible score, and will genuinely wow you with the galaxy's vastness you can explore. If you’ve ever looked to the stars and wondered ‘what if’… this is a game you must play. It isn’t just for Bethesda fans.

Train Sim World 4 (Deluxe Edition) is a phenomenal example of a simulation game. With fantastic graphics, awesome audio, and deep gameplay, this is the best train driving title yet. However, if you don't love trains, you'll probably find it to be slow and tedious.

Lies of P is a fantastic soulslike game with strong homages to Bloodborne. The combat is fun, with the upgradability of the weapon feeling unique in how it impacts gameplay more than simply increasing damage. Resource management can be challenging, and if you can endure the inconsistency in combat, it is worth checking out. Lies of P feels familiar, yet distinctly unique, with a wonderful story and a dark aesthetic.

My Little Universe is a fun-filled adventure title. Can you explore the universe, find resources, and destroy your foes? Work alone or with 3 gamers as you uncover every mystery. My only complaint is the amount of grind!

Mystic Gate is a cruel and harsh rogue-lite title. You'll die, respawn, and die again. This simple gameplay loop won't be enough for some, but I enjoyed its sinister and often unfair ways.

Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur is a cruel and challenging rogue-like title. Can you explore a fantasy realm and save Camelot? Use the skills and powers of your fallen knights to slay every foe you face. Furthermore, no playthrough is ever the same. As such, this oozes replay value and longevity. However, it doesn't quite hit the levels found in Hades.

Despite a couple of promising ideas, Rogue Cards is dragged down by uninspired card designs, bland art and a strong sense of repetition. With so many excellent choices in the turn-based roguelike genre, Rogue Cards seems destined for obscurity.

Wildmender is a cruel survival title that can be played alone or with 3 others. Can you survive this brutal world while growing a beautiful garden? Avoid sandstorms, collect resources, and discover every magical secret. This is one indie title that shouldn't go under your radar!

Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission is a cute and wholesome educational adventure title. As such, it is perfect for children or those who have a thirst for knowledge. However, its lack of difficulty and repetitive tasks will put some people off. If you can cope with the shortcomings, you'll enjoy a relaxing and rewarding experience.

If you’re a fan of JRPGs and are looking for a small time-sink whilst waiting for some of this Autumn’s more blockbuster releases then Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten will certainly pass the time, but there’s a chance that there’s something out there in the same space doing something more interesting.

Astrea: Six Sided Oracles swaps out cards for dice, which turns out to be a stroke of brilliance. It's an enjoyable and thoughtful roguelike, although the world does feel a little cold at times. Still, it made me seriously think about my deck, which is almost unique, and the core gameplay loop is enjoyable enough to keep people playing for many hours.

For those looking for a short adventure to pass an evening, Shalnor Legends II is an okay title. My playthrough took me roughly 10 hours or so to see through to the end and was an alright way to pass a weekend. Unfortunately, there are a lot of better options out there when it comes to the adventure genre. While it is not terrible in any aspect, there are a lot of things that are just okay here. The visuals are passable but with some caveats. Some of the character models look extremely rough and hard to comprehend at first glance. Music is another instance of mediocracy. No tracks really stood out as exceptional or terrible during my time with the game. Everything about Shalnor Legends II just lands below average, making it extremely hard to recommend in a sea of games in the same genre.

Humankind is a 4X strategy title that falls a little short. With too many menus and confusing mechanics, it is hard to pick up. However, it can be tested on Game Pass and that is a massive positive.

Escape from Terror City is a low-poly 3D bullet help experience. Furthermore, this short title will drive you mad because of its odd depth perception. Consequently, you will become frustrated, and this is unfortunate. However, if you love old-school titles, you'll still fall for its charms.

Not so much a blast as a puff of air from the past. Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains' age can't excuse its frustrating gameplay and shoddy writing. The re-release comes complete with awful translation just to seal its fate.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series is a phenomenal addition to this much-loved franchise. With excellent acting and some fantastic plot twists, this will keep you entertained throughout. Furthermore, it has plenty of replay value. My only complaint is that each of the chapters should have been longer.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is a funny 2.5D puzzle platformer. What's more, it can be enjoyed alone or played with 2 friends. As such, you'll argue, scream, and laugh repeatedly. However, there is a serious lack of lore, and this disappointed me.

Full Quiet is a fantastic retro experience. Moreover, its shrill audio and pixelated graphics will take you on a trip down memory lane. However, its Metroidvania approach is a tad frustrating.

Demolish and Build Classic is a fun and oddly addictive title. However, it doesn't reach its potential. Furthermore, the audio is weird and graphically it is dated. As such, it won't impress veterans of the genre. Even though I found faults, I still enjoyed my time with this rudimentary simulation game.

Ninja or die is an interesting game that takes its simplicity and runs with it. For those looking for something quick and easy to pick up, this is definitely a title worth putting on the list.

All-in-all 30XX is an excellent example of the genre done right whilst also accounting for people’s varying skill and taste. The graphics are good, the music is superb and the game does exactly what it sets out to do, emulate Mega Man with all its might whilst still creating a fresh experience for veterans of the roguelike circuit.

REMEDIUM: Sentinels is an excellent rogue-like auto-shooter. Moreover, it will remind you of Vampire Survivors and Brotato. As such, if you love those games, you'll adore everything you experience.

Running Fable is a competitive racing title that sadly lacks originality. Furthermore, it doesn't get the basics right and keeping up with the action is a tiresome task. However, it can be fun in small doses, especially when you take on 9 other players. Disappointingly, though, it doesn't reach its potential and I cannot recommend that you buy it.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a fantastic fantasy RPG that will be sure to take hundreds of hours of your time as you explore the world, delve deep into the plot, and enjoy countless other side activities. It looks fantastic, plays fantastic and is just all-round fantastic.

KILLBUG is proof that a simple, well-designed core gameplay loop can be all you need. Shooting and slashing your way through hordes of bugs is fantastic fun, largely unhampered by a few issues in the presentation.
