Conquest of Eo, to a newbie such as myself, was deeply accessible with a ton of good variety in its combat, exploration and scenarios. It is a strong recommend for fans of the RPG/Turn-based strategy hybrid.

Spellforce: Conquest of Eo is a turn-based strategy title that tries something new. However, it should have stuck with tried and tested mechanics. Yet, the change in genre is enjoyable and I loved the tactical nuance and the varied playstyles.

While I found my first playthrough a confusing and frustrating mess, it made much more sense trying the other classes. They all play differently enough to warrant other playthroughs and require different strategies. Once I got the hang of the gameplay and how to best progress, I went from being frustrated to wanting to play ‘just one more turn'.
