After all these years of waiting, it's hard not to consider Metroid Prime 4 a bit of a disappointment. While the core gameplay is still as good as ever and there are still some flashes of brilliance in the level design, it's impossible to ignore the scars of what we can only guess was a tortuous development process. Sumptuous on Nintendo Switch 2, Retro Studios' latest title is perfectly acceptable, but it fails to make a lasting mark on the history of the famous franchise.

Like A Dragon Gaiden plays out like the filler season of a good anime: we meet up with characters we love around an adventure that has no significant impact on the story, with the exception of two or three elements distilled along the way. This is a title that retains the usual qualities of the series, which is enough to make it a very good game, but it is unfortunately marred by haphazard combat collisions and a story that is too long for its own good.

NBA 2K23 shines this year on next-gen and positions itself as one of the best episodes of the license released so far. A gargantuan content, a neat technique, a gameplay much more faithful to the real thing, winks every 5 minutes for NBA fans, a less fraudulent My Team mode and a very positive NBA League Pass offer for the players. However, we can't ignore the differences between the current-gen and next-gen versions given the prices displayed... It is urgent that 2K wakes up and stops this unequal practice towards the players by proposing similar versions or at adequate prices according to what is offered to the players. This 2023 vintage is back on the throne of sports simulations by advocating excellence in the image of an ever more legendary Michael Jordan.

More than a mainstream game for fans, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a real hit that wasn't expected. Of course, being a fan of Star Lord and Rocket's humour will help you enjoy the game, but the single-player adventure offered by Eidos Montreal can suit anyone who likes the genre. A successful art direction, a pleasing energy, omnipresent dialogues and music plus dynamic fights make this new title an explosive condensation of good things succeeding in making us forget the few negative points such as a certain slowness in some chapters and the impossibility to embody the other guardians.

Rather short (about 10 hours to finish the main story), Wytchwood is a very good crafting game with a fantastic art direction and an excellent soundtrack promoting relaxation. The puzzles and fights present may not be complex enough, but the whole thing is lifted by finding different resources in various biomes and crafting unique items.

The long-awaited Yu-Gi-Oh! game delivers on its promise. Whether you're a novice, a hobbyist or an expert, it will be a game for you. Its single player mode which is full of tutorials to learn the basics and its mechanics while telling stories about the archetypes. On the other hand, with PvP in room or ranked with an exclusive banlist that puts all players on the same level. Especially with the possibility to craft your cards or destroy them. There are however some flaws that can be found. Apart from that, the lights are green for Konami's competitive game.

Aimed at players aged 7 to 77, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a quirky game with an original concept and undeniable charm. More engaging than its 3DS predecessor, this unique life simulation combines absurd situations with a high degree of customization. And even if boredom starts to set in quickly, you always end up coming back to see how your Miis are doing.

Overall, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a good RPG even if it has its share of technical defects. Its universe is coherent and offers a lot of freedom, thanks to an effective combat system: pawns that are one of the best ideas of the game and a huge lifetime. Capcom has been able to pick the right ideas from the Western RPG recipe even if some of J-RPG's mechanics do not work well, especially in the interface or in secondary quests. The Switch port is good, even if some hitches are felt in handheld mode.

Almost impeccable in substance despite gameplay inaccuracies, it is in the execution of My Friend Pedro that Deadtoast misses certain targets. It has a short lifespan, a lack of varied opponents, and the artistic direction is rather dull — which contrasts with the madness of the concept. Irreverent, frenetic and original, it encapsulates what publisher Devolver is all about. Each part is an explosion of fun, and that's the main thing.

We were transfixed by this adventure that is Remnant: From the Ashes. Not everything is perfect, but it is still very good. With this highly original title, Gunfire Games hits hard. We recommend strongly that you play with a friend, in order to fully enjoy this exotic adventure where death will often knock at your door.

Shady Part of Me has captivated us with its stunning artistic direction and its creativity. The puzzles are cleverly constructed and based on an efficient physics engine. The dual gameplay is used to its fullest potential and is constantly renewed with new ideas and elements that will challenge you without being overwhelming. In addition, the sublime soundtrack featuring Hannah Murray certainly won't disappoint.

Unbound's graphics are undeniably one of its strengths, but that's not all the title has to offer. It's a classic and effective platformer and puzzle game that also brings a constantly renewing gameplay based on an effective concept relying on portals allowing to exploit unique and interesting physical properties. With many good ideas to support it, Unbound knows how to be exciting and addictive.

Rogue Trader delivers everything you'd expect from an RPG set in the vast Warhammer 40,000 universe. A dark atmosphere, numerous cruel choices, excellent companions, exploration of the galaxy and its dangers, good tactical combat and even some rather successful space battles. Realization is also quite good for a game of this genre, but it's far from mainstream, with a lot of text to read on the one hand and daunting character progression on the other. Our biggest regret is that, like many other games, Rogue Trader will probably come out full of bugs that will take a while to resolve.

With Hot Wheels Unleashed, the Mattel brand succeeds in its return to video games with a dynamic title, easy to handle, fluid and really fun. Everything breathes the Hot Wheels spirit and that's good. Despite a feeling of repetitiveness linked to the use of only 5 environments, it contains a lot of good ideas and often gives you a good feeling, especially during the boss races. We would have liked a less redundant soundtrack and a more advanced story mode, but it still manages to do well. As for the collectors, they will be delighted to chase the rare pearl, even if the surprise box option and its random dimension are highly debatable.

If you are familiar with the series, a detail will definitely jump out at you: Tropico 6 looks like Tropico 5, which was criticized for being too much like Tropico 4. A hard blow for this series which evolves too little, copying most of the game mechanics and even bringing on the issues. Fortunately, the crazy atmosphere under the tropical sun is still here in Tropico 6. It may help you enjoying your winter times, as you seek warmth and papaya.

With its fantastic artistic direction, The Sojourn is a game to be recommended to fans of the genre. Even if the accompanying story and the texts of the scrolls remain rather vague, we nevertheless enjoyed following the epic tale that is told. The challenges are many and varied, with techniques that combine perfectly, and some present a real challenge. We would have liked to have been able to run, but peace of mind is a must in this game.

Blue Reflection Second Light is not a game that will suit everyone, but it remains interesting on several aspects. Whether it is for the diversity of its environments, or the improvements compared to the previous game, which allow our heroines to evolve a little as we want. This second opus brings a bit of freshness with its new fighting system and it's encouraging for the future. And if you are interested, we advise you to test the demo.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden really could have been a great game that could have made its mark on the narrative RPG genre. With an innovative concept, a poignant story and choices that make the player think and affect, there was enough to satisfy, not to mention some sumptuous landscapes, successful immersion and a well-thought-out combat system that could have been developed further. All these good ideas are ravaged by poor technique, NPCs from another decade, boringly repetitive gameplay and exploration, and uninvolving combat that deserved better. The whole RPG aspect of the game is unfortunately far too superficial and obsolete, and we're simply content to move forward in the story to find out what's good about it.

Hell is Us is another title that would have been better suited to being a movie rather than a game. Rather than focusing on Souls-like action or puzzles to offer solid gameplay, it attempts to combine these two radically different genres, and the result is disappointing. Finding an audience looking for both of these experiences at once is difficult enough, but they have also been treated superficially, even clumsily, because of this ill-advised compromise. It is therefore unlikely that they will satisfy the majority of players. This is all the more unfortunate given that the overall production is of fairly good quality and the atmosphere is sometimes incredible. Hell is Us confronts us with the horrors of war in a way that few games dare to do, but its message risks being lost in the wanderings of the gameplay.

Addictive and enjoyable to play, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a good game and a nice appetizer while we wait for the next generation. TPCI continues to experiment with new ways to play with trainers and their pocket monsters, and they're doing pretty well with this two-phase formula that we found hard to put down. It's a shame, however, that the story isn't a little more interesting and that the technical aspects are still lacking.

Door Kickers: Action Squad is using its predecessor as a model to divert aesthetic codes and game mechanics. Where the original Door Kickers immersed the player in top-down tactical battles, Action Squad focuses on direct battles for immediate pleasure, all in an 80's American action movie atmosphere. Fun in small doses, Action Squad will be particularly enjoyable with a second person over a beer and snacks.

Friendly as it may be, Mario & Luigi Brothership will have a hard time making an impression. Overly talkative and riddled with technical problems ranging from long loading times to poor framerate, Acquire's title never really gets off the ground. What's left is gameplay with fun combat and a sibling cast that's more animated than ever, helping to sweeten the trip to Connexia.

In one sentence, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is much-improved over the first game, originally released in 2015. The essence of these two games is ship combat against a backdrop of a space western. Outlaw improves confrontations by offering a third camera axis, and by deepening ship improvements. Although the writing is disappointing, both the ease with which fights are handled and the atmosphere — which reminds us of Borderlands but without the cynicism — mean we had a great time taking down nasty space pirates.

Seeing Donkey Kong return is always a great pleasure, even when it's just the return of a 15-year-old title. Donkey Kong Country Returns was a great title in 2010, and it's still a great title in 2025: its unique gameplay sets it apart from the competition, its art direction hasn't aged a bit, and its content, though identical to the 3DS version, should quench your thirst for platforming in the new year.

Even though it's easy to see that recycling is present, Dying Light 2 pulls its weight thanks to its more vertical map than ever and the fluidity encountered when completing various parkour moves. In single player, the game will keep you going for a good thirty hours and much more to complete all the side missions. Techland has kept its promise despite the negative points and make this new opus an endless pleasure. Ah, and beware of those afraid of blood, it spurts quite a bit.

With this HD version of Luigi's Mansion 2, Nintendo allows players to have the entire license on their Nintendo Switch. The least well-known episode of the trilogy, Luigi's Mansion 2 still deserves to be discovered today thanks to its quality level design, but we expected more work from the developers for this version. It's more or less the same (good) game, with the same old-fashioned "mission-based" progression that does so much harm to the rhythm of the adventure. A good pick-up, but far from indispensable, especially at full price.

Humankind offers a fresh formula to the genre by taking the best of Civilization and Endless Legends, before adding its own personal touch. Technically, the game is robust, with nice graphics and music, and above all, it has the advantage of being relatively accessible to new players with its tutorials, its clear and accessible mechanics, as well as a limited micromanagement requirement. It should also appeal to veterans of the genre looking for a more tactical management of conflicts. With a bit of content and some additional polish, it has great potential in the long run.

We conclude with great sadness this saga alongside Clementine. Even if it is quite short, the episode still offers us a great deal of emotion and action. Produced in the same manner as the previous episodes, it still brings some innovations and does not simply end the adventure softly. AJ takes off for the worse and for the better.

Ultimately, EA Sports FC 26 is still a more interesting version than its predecessor, with a large number of teams, substantial content, and increasingly comprehensive gameplay thanks to its separation into two distinct styles. Of course, it's far from perfect, and this is evident in a number of areas, such as optimization, particularly on PC, and the various bugs that can be encountered during games. So, is it worth the price? It's hard to say, because if you're a soccer fan, you'll have plenty to keep you busy in single-player and online modes, but if you want to discover a game series based on this sport, you might want to wait for a future installment.

Master Detective Archives Rain Code offers players a rich investigative game that keeps them on their toes throughout. Whether thanks to its story or its gameplay mechanics, it will bring beginners and experts alike into a universe where the cards are shuffled in order to uncover the dark secret of the town of Kanai Ward. However, not everything is rosy, as it also has a few shortcomings, such as the graphics, which may bother some of you, or the fact that the queries are not particularly interesting. If we had to sum up this title in a few words, it would be: A real pleasant surprise.

It's hard to rate Solasta Crown of the Magister, the game benefits from excellent design choices and interesting innovations in the RPG genre, but it also suffers from quite a few limitations that restrict its ambitions, and thus the result. It remains a very interesting game, especially in terms of combat. It should delight all those who are looking for a good turn-based tactical RPG without frills, with a classic campaign worthy of the name. The game will certainly be refined by its developers, and enriched by its community in the future if it meets the success it deserves.

With Space Junkies, Ubisoft offers unbridled competitive multiplayer battles. Needless to say that the bet is successful. Lots of action, very little seriousness and no motion sickness. Space Junkies also manages to be both accessible and difficult to master against experienced opponents who will be able to take advantage of the field bonuses, verticality and gadgets, in addition to knowing how to use the right weapon at the right time.

It's difficult to rate a remastered game like Tales of Berseria. The quality of the title released in 2017 is undeniable, and it ranks among the very best in the Tales of franchise, but we have to take into account what this new version actually brings to the table. It has to be said that, for $40, the graphical, technical, and content improvements leave something to be desired and do little to justify purchasing the game for those who already own the PS4 version. Nevertheless, the fact that this release on the current generation of consoles brings some improvements in terms of comfort and all the additional content released for the game may be a very good thing for players who have never had the chance to follow the story of Velvet Crowe. All in all, we recommend Tales of Remastered to JRPG fans who have never played the game before and to those who want to indulge in nostalgia; for everyone else, give it a miss.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is an excellent adaptation of the franchise as a whole, as well as a very good FTL-style game. It features all the standout elements of the TV series, combined with original and well-designed gameplay. The battles are intense, but so are the management phases, and there’s easily enough content to keep you busy for dozens of hours. Boredom does eventually set in, though, since the battle format and crises don’t change up enough. But for a fairly modest, low-priced game, it remains a genuine success, and you can’t help but relaunch a space adventure every now and then with great pleasure.

Mount & Blade II Bannerlord is a perfected version of a medieval sandbox game concept where you alternate between territory conquest, large-scale battles and the progression of your character and your kingdom. The few AI wanderings and the repetitiveness of the quests and dialogues do not detract from this exhilarating sandbox where your story is written as you make decisions and take actions.

Crimson Desert’s best moments come when you think about the game it could have been, were it not for its overabundance of clunky mechanics and its painfully sluggish controls. Riddled with glitches and systems that don’t work, Pearl Abyss’s first single-player game can rely on its sublime open world, or its core management system borrowed from BDO, to occasionally lift us out of our frustration.

Unfortunately, Avowed isn't that famous new Skyrim made-in-2025, with its vast, intoxicating universe, updated gameplay and narration worthy of the greatest games. The result is rather mediocre and dated, both visually and in terms of gameplay, taking us back a decade, and not for the right reasons.A disappointment considering the game's potential and the solid foundations on which it could have been built, and which is one of those games where you think “with X more months of development, maybe we've got something solid”. In any case, the PC version of Avowed is currently a failure, and fortunately the game is available on Game Pass day1, which we strongly advise you to take advantage of if you want to make up your own mind.

To complete the story of Cronos: The New Dawn, you need to play for around 20 hours, which is actually enough. Admittedly, there is sometimes a slight feeling of redundancy, particularly with regard to the monsters and bosses, where I really felt like I was fighting one battle after another at one point, but this is quickly forgotten thanks to the environment, gameplay, and story. What's more, if you like a challenge, you'll be in for a treat: I don't think I've been so frustrated with a game in a long time, especially when it comes to the bosses... But what a feeling when you succeed!

South of Midnight is one of those little games you remember long after you've finished it, no matter how short it is. Visually, it's unique, and its music is also brimming with personality. Although it clearly lacks variety and depth, the gameplay remains effective, both for combat and for platforming. It's a pleasure to play before moving on to other things.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a pure Souls-like that has absorbed and spat out what all its predecessors in the genre have been able to do in recent years. Overall, a satisfying experience that's worth its €49.99 price tag, even if it doesn't reinvent the formula and probably won't be remembered for years to come. A good summer experience for all fans of the genre, with killer gameplay, even if we'd have liked a little more simplicity in some of the game's systems, which are too complex at times for very little in the end.

With King Arthur: Knight's Tale, the studio NeoCore Games fulfills its contract to offer a tactical turn-based game with demanding combat and RPG-inspired progression. Its exciting setting (a mix of dark fantasy and Arthurian legend) allows for multiple epic, dark and dramatic stories to be told. By omitting its classicism and focusing on its successful battles and notable difficulty.

Hard West 2 is a classic game at heart with a progression system that is lacking. However, the fantastic western atmosphere, coupled with a neat narrative and combat that is both satisfying and varied in tactical situations, make the game a good pick up, both for fans of the genre and for those who would like to learn about turn-based strategy games.

Game Builder Garage is an excellent gateway to the complex world of video game programming. The customization of the code blocks works perfectly, the increasingly complicated interactive lessons will require you to learn the function of each nodon, and the interface as a whole is a model of clarity. It's a shame, however, that Nintendo's edutainment software doesn't go further by providing more elaborate asset customization, or by pushing the limits of its work plan and settings further.

Souldiers was "this close" to join the not so closed club of the great indie metroidvania, only its absurd difficulty and its finally very flat gameplay got the better of the pleasure of the game quite quickly. It's a pity, because Retro Forge's title is full of very good ideas and, damn it, it's got a lot of good looks: apart from some dubious color choices on some shots, Souldiers can at least boast of a 2D of an almost unprecedented finesse. To make it short: it's very beautiful, but really average.

Bravely Default 2 isn't a bad game but, unfortunately, it never goes beyond the stage of a nice old-fashioned turn-by-turn experience and the game is pretty dated in many ways. The Brave and Default systems are still doing the job, while the Asterisks ensure the diversity of builds by allowing players to experiment to the fullest. But here we are, after this successful déjà vu background, there isn't much left for this second canonical episode. The game has a lot of difficulties to work correctly, the artistic direction, except the villages, leaves to be desired and the annexed content is of a deep boredom. As for the scenario, it's almost the same thing as BD1: those who made it know what we are talking about.

It's beautiful, it's good, and it has perfectly decent content: ultimately, what more could you ask for? Perhaps less broken Fever Rackets, an Adventure mode worthy of the name, and ball physics with a little more bite. These are certainly notable flaws, but they don't detract from the undeniable effectiveness of this new Mario Tennis. Well done, Camelot !

Mission accomplished for Robocop: Rogue City. It's a pretty good game for fans of the license and 80s action films. Everything is faithfully reproduced and even enriched, while offering a gameplay that makes good use of Robocop's particularities, both as a cybernetic policeman serving the city and as a killing machine. In this context, it's quite amusing, even pleasant, to follow Alex Murphy and his little phrases before a big massacre. However, the game won't be of much interest to other players. Its content won't appeal to them, it's too short, too repetitive and too poorly produced to justify its price tag.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is the return to basics that Ubisoft had hoped for. Without reinventing the JV tricks of the trade, it relies on solid fundamentals (infiltration, parkour, exploration), simple but effective characters and storyline, and is one of the pleasant surprises of 2023. More than just Valhalla's DLC, Mirage takes us away and immerses us in a splendid Baghdad, full of life and activity, where it's easy to get lost by stealth.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is a good game on which you can have fun and spend good moments. Whether you are a new player or an old player of the license, you will find what you need. However, you will have to be patient to get through some stages. With this opus, Sega invites players to rediscover their first love of the series by offering levels from the first Super Monkey Ball. As a bonus, the addition of mini-games is a plus to have fun with your friends during parties even if some mini-games are not necessarily the most exciting. As for the small drawbacks, we regret the fact that you can't play all the characters in all the modes or the difficulty which is not always progressive.

EA Sports FC 25 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, adding a number of welcome details such as the arrival of women in the career mode and the rush mode, not forgetting the roles that add an ever more tactical edge to your matches. However, the experience is spoiled in part by the many problems that remain, which can clearly discourage many. In the end, we wouldn't recommend the version as it stands, given that it's more of an update to FC 24 than a new game in its own right. Prefer a console version if you really want to buy it.

The campaign keeps the player on the edge of his seat, to the point where you want to know more and hope to see a sequel to this story. The mechanics brought by the Story Mode, the dialogue choice and the impression of being protagonist give a real boost to the campaign, even if it represents only five to seven hours of play. The new multiplayer modes are great and bring a new dynamic, but the operators' movements limit our experience on these big maps. We're waiting for Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War to bring a lot more content and, most importantly, to see the integration of Warzone. The Zombie mode also brings a nice touch, with new mechanics that are great fun, except for the lack of cinematics.

Scourgebringer is a rogue-lite based primarily on combat and skill. Fighting being the essence of the game, you have to be patient and diligent in the confrontations, in order to develop your skill to face the real challenges. The wide range of moves and the very satisfying fights make the runs enjoyable. However, because of the lack of depth in the mechanics, the game runs out of steam after only a few hours of play. Nevertheless, it remains a good pick for those who expect a rogue-lite to deliver smooth, frenetic and rewarding fights.

Kaiju Wars is an ingenious tribute to all the big monster disaster movies. It is full of personality and good ideas on all levels. Through its well thought out gameplay, it reproduces the helplessness of a conventional army desperately trying to slow down Godzilla and his colleagues as they raze a city, with the stress of watching the monsters advance without being able to defeat them and the satisfaction that comes with victory, even if it is short-lived. The realization is also good for an independent game, with beautiful animations, art direction and memorable music. Count on about 20 to 30 hours for the basic campaign, and 40 to 50 hours on average for the 100%.

Hob has obvious inspirations and an overwhelming originality. The Runic Games's title is a tale of adventure mastered as rarely seen before. Classic in its approach or progression, it offers a high-end artistic direction and a dream soundtrack. The impression of "déjà vu", inherent to the genre, is sometimes present but does not affect in any way a smooth and pleasant progression. The ten hour longevity of Hob is well worth the investment.

Overall, Mario vs Donkey Kong is good, even very good. The remastering work is clearly perceptible, and it's a real pleasure to (re)play these levels, which have been redesigned to suit the videogame standards of modern Mario games. Unfortunately, we can only regret that this overall success has been sabotaged by some really annoying flaws, giving the impression that we're being wasted. Mario vs Donkey Kong is therefore, in our opinion, a good game to play from time to time to relax, provided you're not too much of a stickler for detail. A good game for the young, the very young or video game neophytes, who won't pay too much attention to the small details we've pointed out, and who will especially frustrate regular players accustomed to more accomplished optimization.

With its solid gameplay and sinister Soulsborne atmosphere combined with some good ideas of its own, Mortal Shell could have been a great game. But a hasty release seems to have caused a lot of damage: the overall balance is weak, and there's a lack of variety in the shells, weapons and bosses. The game is quickly over, the fights hardly noticeable with no music and the unbalanced difficulty. The most relentless might find their happiness by playing without shells , and with the New Game+.

If we had to describe Bleach Rebirth of Souls in a few words, it would surely be a solid foundation for the sequel, because yes, even if it does have its flaws, it's still a pleasure to discover if you're a fan of the license, and above all a source of hope if other opuses ever see the light of day. Its story mode is very complete, even if we would have preferred it to be more balanced. The gameplay is fun to play once you've mastered it, despite the slowness of the movements, and the roster is adequate, even if there are a few absentees.

Milestone continues, with Ride 4, the evolution of its 2-wheel racing simulator with ever more realism whether in terms of graphics or physics engine, but also the introduction of elements inherited from MotoGP: artificial intelligence ANNA, tire wear and fuel management. In addition, it is also necessary to add here the appearance of dynamic lighting depending on the time of day and the variable weather, as well as an endurance mode introducing a new type of racing. Too bad the environments always fall short of the rest and that accidents related to the driving of other pilots are so recurrent.

EA Sports is preparing its transition in the best possible way by dusting off old systems that are still well established while integrating into its simulation elements that are now essential for a game of this scale and with such a large audience...This year, FIFA 23 is a Next-Gen game with its Hypermotion technology, and we sincerely hope that it will not be changed in the next few weeks, because as it is, it is the best FIFA since the 17th.

Persona 5 Strikers is a successful crossover, bringing a true sequel to iconic JRPG. Among other things, it'll allow fans to learn more about the high school band led by the Trickster. With Strikers, Omega Force delivers: it's a demanding title, particularly enjoyable and complete enough to take you on a road-trip for countless hours.

WolfEye's first game offer players a solid immersive sim in a fantastic western atmosphere. The varied gameplay and the open level design allow the player to approach the confrontations in multiple ways coupled with its progression system make the progression fascinating. The unique atmosphere, the care given to the immersion, the presence of multiple side activities as well as a sustained rhythm make Weird West a memorable adventure that we recommend to fans of games like Deus Ex, where creativity and risk-taking in confrontations are rewarded.

The Surge 2 takes the premise and mechanics set by its predecessor and takes them even further with some welcome new ideas. The beautifully choreographed battles are a real success once mastered, provided the visibility problems sometimes caused by the camera — as well as the repetitiveness of the actions — are ignored. The system of crafting and customization through the dismemberment of enemies, and allowing players to create their own style of play, is still as successful as ever. Nothing new then, but rather more content and options — it's certainly demanding, but just as pleasing when we take up the challenge with an undeniable sense of power.

Dragon Age The Veilguard is the quintessential mass-market AAA, with all the qualities and shortcomings that implies. It's a great adventure with accessible, polished and well-thought-out content, even if the freedom isn't there. This is obviously a major flaw for an RPG, and one that is likely to anger many players. Ironically, in seeking to be open-ended at all costs, while avoiding taking risks, the game commits some major clumsiness in terms of writing. Veilguard is much better than the studio's previous titles, but it still lacks the arguments capable of reconciling it with gamers.

NBA 2K22 remains a very good basketball game but it rely too much on its assets and doesn't evolve anymore. It's difficult to see the differences between the 2021 and 2022 versions in terms of technology, graphics and content available to players. However, we notice the efforts made on the gameplay, which is much closer to the reality of the courts and less frustrating, as well as the care given to the My NBA mode. As far as the career mode is concerned, we're clearly left wanting more, it's just a lot of filler, to the detriment of the narrative quality of the career. To conclude, NBA 2K22 remains solid on its feet, still offering the best for a fan of the orange ball, but it's cruelly lacking in creativity and struggling to renew itself.

Although Days Gone has hardly changed since its release in 2019, the game is still quite enjoyable, with both original and generic gameplay ideas. The intrinsic qualities of its storyline and open-world will undoubtedly push the player to explore its environment and study its world. Despite this, it's impossible to get over the major physics and texture loading issues that have not yet been corrected and that greatly harm the gameplay experience. However, the game can already boast of being more accomplished and therefore more fun than two years ago. Which earns it a slightly higher score than it did then, but we can only hope that the game will benefit from patches in order to be able to offer a better experience.

The excellent atmosphere and the cinematographic ambitions of Twelve Minutes are not enough to make it an unforgettable experience. Underneath lies a sloppy point & click game, serving a disjointed plot with far from captivating stakes. As for its time loop concept, it induces too many inconsistencies and repetitions in the course of the adventure to be fully satisfying.

Rise of the Ronin is certainly Team Ninja's best project to date. A complete game full of good ideas, it could have been rated even higher if it hadn't been so graphically poor - a frustrating flaw, given the game's maximum potential, which makes it hard to justify the price tag. Nonetheless, it remains a good experience, with its qualities and faults, well worth exploring, in a captivating universe faithful to 19th-century Japan, as well as a rather qualitative gameplay that may not suit everyone.

Whether you just want to have a good time with fast and crazy mini-games, or you want to perform by completing it at 100% with the highest scores, Wario Ware Get It Together is undeniably the best opus in the series. While it's a shame to see no touchpad games on Switch, the new opus does offer some good new features and functionality.

If you're not put off by the style of graphic animation and are a fan of narrative games, you should try this title, especially with friends. The discussions it can generate to make decisions, with the possibility of vetoing some of them, is an interesting idea, as is the broadcast mode on Twitch. Even in solo, the scenario as well as the atmosphere of the game, and the delicate situations it proposes, are worth the detour. The graphics and music are particularly well done. Don't expect a challenge, since the title is aimed at all players. As for the storyline ramifications, they are numerous and easily accessible enough to promote replayability.

The space battles in Chorus are good, piloting its agile super-powered fighter through enemy fire while devastating hordes of enemies is fun. This efficient gameplay is its strength, and the special powers are well integrated into the gameplay. The fights tend to become too easy, but the boss battles compensate. The exploration is unfortunately not there as the open world is empty, it is more an excuse for dialogues and additional battles. However, it has the merit of being very pleasant to look at. The realization is quite good, whether it is through the graphics, the music, and even the cinematics and dialogues. So, we spend a good time on Chorus, during the twenty hours to finish it the first time.

Unless you never touched The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim when it was released, or you're a die-hard fan of the license who's in the throes of nostalgia, this special anniversary edition is far from essential. It obviously includes all the elements that made the success of this title while adding some new elements. The adventure is still as epic as ever and it's a real treat to walk the length and breadth of Bordeciel. However, all this is not enough to erase the feeling of playing the same game as 10 years ago. For this price, we would have expected a little more...

In short, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is better in every way than its predecessor, which was already a good game, but lacked possibilities when it was released. This second opus opens up directly to air and sea species while offering players many more management tools and different game modes. We regret the lack of balancing on the difficulty which will put off occasional players and the fact that the sandbox mode is not complete. A very good vintage that will get even better with time and that will bring back the nostalgia of the successful movies about these majestic creatures that once populated the earth, the sky and our oceans.

With its theme based on a dystopian USSR at the cutting edge of world science, Atomic Heart offers us a rather exciting action-RPG title. Its universe and atmosphere are particularly successful, with a lively world and omnipresent humor, without ever really taking itself seriously. Efficient, the software is however quite classic in its FPS proposal, with far too many resources to pick up. But its gameplay, incorporating puzzles, and its spectacular graphics, combined with its universe and its delectable soundtrack, manage to keep us hooked throughout its not inconsiderable life span.

With its wild humor and colorful world, Journey to the Savage Planet is a game that puts fun above all else. If resource gathering, crafting and exploration are the keywords of your adventure on the planet AR-Y26, it's your fun and wacky experience that will stand out. In short, there's never a dull moment, whether it's thanks to the sound atmosphere or to your robot, which never stops making jokes in a sarcastic tone. If you want to fully explore this new world, discover the mysteries surrounding intelligent alien life or simply collect resources to repair your ship, the adventure is even better in co-op.

Whether you're a soccer fan or a football hater, if you like team games where individual skill is as important as knowledge of the game and trust in your partners, chances are you'll have a great time with Rematch. By bringing together everything that makes soccer a popular and enjoyable game, and changing the zenithal point of view for a much more immersive approach, Sloclap has once again succeeded in revolutionizing a genre that has been well established for years. Rematch is a shot of instant fun that will surprise any skeptic and make you feel like a pro right away, but will also remind you every two minutes that you need more practice. But while it's absolutely exhilarating to play Rematch, this pleasure is marred by a glaring lack of finishing touches, the absence of local multiplayer and server problems that we hope will soon disappear.

The more farm games you try out (and the more you appreciate the genre), the more you see a pattern emerging. To appeal to the majority of its audience, a farm game has to be addictive, and Fae Farm is undeniably a sweet little treat that you want to keep coming back to. It has to be interesting enough not to bore you over the long term, and Fae Farm offers a range of activities and areas to explore, so you can still marvel at the game even after dozens of hours. Of course, Phoenix Labs' newcomer is not without its faults, but on the whole it corrects so many of the mistakes of its predecessors that it's impossible not to fall under its spell.

All in all, EA FC 24 already seems to be a clear departure from previous editions of FIFA, and that's just as well for the launch of this new era. EA Sports has succeeded in seducing the majority of FIFA fans, who will rediscover what they loved about the game, while discovering new ways of playing the universal game. This 2023/2024 season has not seen the last of its surprises, and even if a few imperfections still remain, we hope that the big back-to-school update won't make the game boring and unbalanced. Beware, however, of the PlayStyles, which could quickly prove too powerful for some players. All that's left is to wish you a good game, or rather, a good match!

The idea is absolutely brilliant and brings to life the childhood games of many players. If the execution lacks a little something to make the experience unforgettable, we must still praise the ingenuity of this new use of the Nintendo Switch. Perfect to gather the family around the elaboration of the craziest possible circuit, MKL struggles to convince on the long run. The limitations of the concept are quick to show.

New features, new creatures and an adventure that deserves your time as much as the original Pokémon games campaign. A much better expansion than The Isle of Armor, but if you consider both expansion as a single offer it could be a great new game that deserves to be played.

We. The Revolution manages to plunge us into the darkest era of France, with an innovative scenario, and the special appeal to play as a judge. There is always something to do, and the system of choices and repercussions is cruel but just. It's a good thing that you can go back in time whenever you want and make different choices. The game is as expected: immersive and refreshing.

Endless Dungeon surprises by offering a well-thought-out, modernised evolution of its original recipe. It manages to mix genres and offer multi-faceted gameplay, with a certain complexity, but without becoming too heavy-handed or untenable in co-op. What we end up with is a rogue-lite with a good balance between strategy and action, with a strong tactical twist in single-player, and which requires good teamwork and a lot of communication in multiplayer. In both cases, it's a game you should try out for yourself to discover a fresh, innovative game that you can't help but want to play again and again.

For this first episode in The Dark Pictures Anthology, Supermassive Games has fulfilled its mission — to provide us with a game that effectively reproduces horror movie tropes. The quality of the graphics and sound is undeniable, even it sometimes looks more like an interactive film than a game, and it gives little freedom. It achieves its goals by effectively and intelligently managing to frighten us — it's just a shame that the QTEs sometimes make us angry.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is a welcome sequel: the narrative is rich and the characters engaging, but the experience remains limited by poorly-exploited gameplay mechanics and uneven technical realization. Fans of the series will find pleasure in an older, even more nuanced Max, while new players can immerse themselves in an emotionally intense plot. The art direction succeeds in differentiating the two parallel realities brilliantly, and the integration of social networks allows us to discover subtle aspects of the story and the characters.

In Star Wars Outlaws, studio Ubisoft set out to create an original adventure with new characters that have nothing in common with the other games in the license. The challenge was to make Kay Vess and Nix interesting enough to hook the player, and although this seemed difficult at the outset, it was largely successful. Despite a definite lack of polish and a linearity that can make the nose blow for a title that claims to be open-world, the adventures of this would-be rascal are rich and exciting. But be careful where you step: Outlaws is first and foremost an infiltration game with one strategic mission after another.

Wild Hearts doesn't just copy Monster Hunter, it also has plenty of good ideas, such as the changing environment and map installations. But the overall lack of polish and questionable balancing nevertheless proves to be unfortunate, and it still never manages to be as satisfying as its model. Whether it's the combat, the graphics, or the different systems of the game, the basics are there, but it's not quite accomplished enough to fully indulge in the pleasure of hunting big monsters.

Wario Ware Move It! is a decent addition to Nintendo's series of absurd microgames: with a concept that brings it very close to the Wii's Smooth Moves, this new episode mixes dozens of convincing challenges with other, much more imprecise proposals and sometimes very vague instructions. It's also one of the sparsest Wario Ware releases in terms of content, taking 6 to 7 hours to play through all the microgames, with no real reason to come back to them afterwards.

With The Medium, Bloober Team delivers a sordid story — though not always easy to pin down. Despite the sometimes ludicrous character animation, blurring effects not necessarily justified, and the presence of a few artifacts, the graphics are high quality and often well-inspired. The chases and the passages in the characters' psyche are quite memorable. If you don't mind games which are linear and focus on the narrative more than the action, you'll have a great time with The Medium — and its amazing OST.

Even though it's much better than the first title of the same name, like its previous iteration, Lords of the Fallen struggles to emulate the delicate recipe that made Souls such a success. All the ingredients are there, and it even brings its share of interesting new features to distinguish itself from its models, but the result falls a little short of expectations. The gameplay is a little disconcerting, and the difficulty can very quickly turn into intense frustration due to some ill-advised balancing. It's all the more of a shame given that the game has the makings of a great title in terms of production and content. It's best reserved for fans of the genre who aren't afraid of all that.

Without being catastrophic, the result is unsatisfactory in almost all areas, and we are saddened to see so many good ideas badly exploited, and with wasted potential. The combat system is original but badly balanced. The atmosphere is intriguing and the city has a real verticality, but it is completely flooded with repetitive fights and items to collect. The narration could have saved the whole thing, but it quickly stumbles, and ends after only a few hours without giving any reason to be interested. The direction is equally inconsistent, with significant ups and downs. If instead of investing its limited resources in a failed open world, the studio had focused on the rest, maybe Ghostwire Tokyo would have been a good game.

While the new version makes the game more accessible, offers more depth on the domain's management and a small but not marginal graphic facelift (notably sunlight management). It is unfortunately counterbalanced by the main character models being sometimes less polished, a catastrophic display of nights and a rather embarrassing bridle of the experience. This version is recommended for those who could not play the original game. However, the PC version is highly recommended, at least for the 60 FPS availability.

Cindered Shadows is everything we expected from a Fire Emblem Three Houses DLC, turning the Season Pass into a great deal with its new characters, new classes, and tough battles. It removes the flaws of the main campaigns to give us a condensed version of intense battles and story, with enough new features sprinkled on top of it to extend the game experience an average of ten hours. If you plan to replay campaigns later on, its price is entirely justified.

Crying Suns is a striking and fascinating game in many ways, which offers an epic journey through the stars that will satisfy a while the fans of space tactics and science fiction with its rich and dark story. It's a pretty good game, but it lacks the elements that would make it a good rogue-like, the ships and their gameplay are too similar, the crew choices are unnecessarily restricted, the events are repetitive and predictable, the game blocks us to the last chapter of the story, etc. It will be necessary for the developers to review all this so that it can reach its full potential.

With Concrete Genie, Pixelopus gives us a visually impressive body of work. It offers the player the opportunity to become a true artist, letting their imagination run free in a magnificent world. Ash becomes very endearing in a very short space of time, and sometimes even manages to move us — we come to have compassion for this little artist who seeks to make friends and be free. Thanks to the presence of the Geniuses, we never really feel alone in this chaos — these little beings are a real success. The only things we were disappointed with were the length of the game and its replay value.

Visions of Mana is a good game that follows in the footsteps of its predecessors with brio, featuring action-packed combat and an interesting storyline, even if the set-up leaves little room for surprise. Nevertheless, it succeeds in taking us on a journey through its richly colorful universe, thanks in particular to a fine soundtrack and its diverse environments. And if you're still in doubt after reading this review, don't hesitate to try out the demo, which is free and will enable you to form your own opinion.

Samurai Warriors 5 is a successful return to the basics of the license after a Dynasty Warriors 9 that had completely disappointed the players. Koei Tecmo offers a game that will not leave fans of the genre unmoved, while proposing interesting new features, a very complete roster of playable characters, a wide range of usable weapons, two very solid game modes and a lifespan that exceeds 100 hours of play. We will forgive its technical inequalities, even if it is time to move to the Next Gen and to offer a game with big ambitions while keeping what makes the essence of Musou games.

Warhammer 40000: Boltgun is a nice retro FPS that takes elements from 1993's DOOM by making the fights more nervous and in a recent packaging, which makes it enjoyable to play. Nevertheless, you shouldn't ask too much of it, because basically, it's just about liquidating dozens of enemies in a succession of arenas. Only for the trigger-happy.

All in all, Dead Island 2 is an excellent surprise and a must-have for all the fans of the genre, that seems to us undeniable. And if, despite its rather minor problems, Dead Island 2 can lose credibility at first sight, there is no doubt that its important strong points will make you forget these small details as you progress in the game. The work done in many respects is colossal, and you feel it throughout the progression. A very good game that we highly recommend!

Faithful to its ancestors, Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is a difficult and intense game that will require you to die many times in order to progress. Hordes of traps and ruthless enemies will ask you each time to find and then apply a viable strategy to make your way to the next level.All of this combined with the character's unique, even dated, handling makes it a game for an audience who knows what they're getting into. Even though the magic system, checkpoints and cooperative mode make the title more accessible than its predecessors, it still requires a great deal of patience and perseverance.
