I have always held Tales of Berseria in high regard for embracing a gritty tone while maintaining the core Tales essence. Now, I praise it once again for delivering the strongest remaster among the Tales remastered projects.

Tales of Berseria Remastered remains a solid, intense, and emotionally driven experience, now arriving in its definitive technical state with several new additions and gameplay tweaks. It stands as one of the most groundbreaking titles in terms of both narrative and gameplay, now fully realized for modern consoles. For those looking to give it a try, there has never been a better time to jump in.

Tales of Berseria Remastered may be the least necessary or helpful remaster I’ve ever played, but it’s still a good RPG well worth playing for those who missed it the first time around. Too many one-dimensional dungeons and combat, which, at times, is too complex for its own good, stop it from reaching greatness, but its unique story and cast of characters set it apart from the genre and make it well worth your time.

Tales of Berseria Remastered brings back its dark tale of revenge, featuring Velvet as a memorable antiheroine, a diverse cast, and a flexible combat system that rewards experimentation. Ufotable's animated scenes and the character skits elevate the narrative, though the pacing suffers from backtracking and simplistic map design. The remaster improves quality of life features, but the graphical upgrade remains minimal. Even so, it stands as the best way to experience the game today.

Tales of Berseria Remastered is the best version of a beloved game within the fanbase. It doesn’t have too much extra content, but its technical improvements worth it.

Even if it's not as advanced a version as its name claims, Tales of Berseria Remastered manages to bring one of the best stories in the series to a wider audience with improved Quality of Life (QoL) additions. Don't miss this story if you haven't experienced it before.

The quality of the original Tales of Berseria is nothing short of praiseworthy. However, this review focuses on what the remaster brings to the table, and in that regard, the release is quite perplexing. It feels more like an overpriced patch than a true remaster, offering only a slight visual upgrade.
