Arc Raiders is undoubtedly one of the best multiplayer games of 2025. Thanks to the admirable work of the Embark Studios teams on the maps, sound design, and addictive (but unforgiving) gameplay loop, this extraction shooter manages to rise above the fray with rock-solid arguments. A few teething problems remain to be ironed out, but the future looks bright for the many raiders who have taken the plunge.- MGG

Total War: Warhammer 3 is the conclusion of the Warhammer cycle for a saga initiated 22 years ago. Without upsetting the fundamentals, this new Total War is the culmination of the saga with a game that is deeper than ever (with the possibility to play peacefully), very rich in content with eight factions (and as many campaigns) while having a neat and optimized technical part.- MGG

With Desperados III, Mimimi brilliantly relaunches the license by going back to the roots of the genre. We would have appreciated a little more variety in the opposing ranks and more polished cinematics. However, the western atmosphere of the title, its seductive scenery, the constantly renewed gameplay and the perfectly tuned level design quickly make us forget these little details. In addition, the multiple challenges offer a great replayability.- MGG

Beautiful, clever, fun.... It's hard not to fall under the spell of Luigi's Mansion 3, a title that anchors this series among Nintendo's most prestigious. Entirely playable in cooperation, LM3 never ceases to surprise by offering a state of the art level-design and, as always, inventive puzzles. The title from Next Level Games is, simply put, one of the best game on the Nintendo Switch.- MGG

For mecha fans, Armored Core 6 is an absolutely phenomenal game that should fulfill all or most expectations. Without reinventing the genre, its content and gameplay are very solid and satisfying. You build your own machine piece by piece, choosing your own gameplay without getting too technical. Then it's off to intense, spectacular battles that demand a fairly high level of skill. You can redesign your machine for each battle, both solo and in the arena against other players. But it may well put off players who are not looking for such a special experience.- MGG

With 8 interesting destinies to follow, an HD-2D aesthetic more charming than ever and a divine OST, Octopath Traveler 2 has absolutely everything it needs in its bag to make old school Japanese RPG lovers have a good time. Beware, however, of this particular structure, character chapter by character chapter, which can still put you off, despite the developers' efforts to make the whole thing much more pleasant to play.- MGG

Returnal is a fascinating mix of genres, between science fiction, horror, and psychology, which gives a much more immersive and scary adventure than what we are used to in a Rogue-like. The realization is good, and the game takes full advantage of the PS5's performance to achieve this result. The gameplay is solid and the fights are intense, especially when you have to desperately survive in the middle of a deluge of projectiles in order to progress further and further. It's a shame, though, that it quickly becomes repetitive, even with its somewhat short lifespan (about 30 hours), with the added bonus of a game design that breaks the rhythm by encouraging us to go back and forth too much.- MGG

Without necessarily being the long-awaited messiah, Cyberpunk 2077 is a great science fiction work that's not afraid to shock or disturb. Its universe, atmosphere and story are fascinating and rich. It offers a great freedom of choice, both in the scenario and in the fights. Night City is a place like no other. However, it's a shame that after all these years of development, many elements still lack finishing touches, and that the gameplay is not as satisfying as one would have hoped. We had the unpleasant feeling that the game was released before it was really ready.- MGG

Perhaps a little short for its price, Cadence of Hyrule is nevertheless very addictive. Once good habits have been (re)established it's difficult to put the controller down, thanks to Danny Baranowsky's brilliant compositions and the "real Zelda" structure coated in roguelike action. You may be disappointed by your dungeons, but apart from this little faux pas, CoH really ticks all the boxes of good old Zelda 2D, with a map full of secrets and dozens of interesting items to find.- MGG

If Inscryption can repel some with its pixelated graphics and its purely textual dialogues, it fully assumes its old school side. And it is right to do so since its artistic direction is clearly convincing. As for the gameplay, it is full of creativity and offers us an adventure where the rules are constantly reinvented to surprise us each time in a particularly efficient way. Another little indie gem.- MGG

While not revolutionary, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is a good sequel that refines its recipe on many levels. It's beautiful, well-designed, friendly and accessible, making it a good entry point into the tactical genre for kids and adults alike. Wasteland 3 is an exciting game in many ways, and although it doesn't reinvent the mechanisms of the genre, it implements them in the best possible way. It provides the player with the opportunity to fully immerse himself in the universe he portrays through difficult (or even downright ruthless) battles, situations requiring the player to commit, mature and credible writing, multiple choices and consequences, and multiple resolutions that will allow the player to choose a different path in a later game. The game has a very good rhythm, which alternates battles, exploration and quest resolution, constantly rekindling the player's interest. An excellent RPG for any self-respecting fan.- MGG

Finally, something fresh in 2020! In 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Vanillaware offers PS4 players a singular sci-fi experience, driven by a well-crafted and exciting "Russian doll" plot from start to finish. We thought it would be impossible for the developers to keep us in suspense across 13 different scenarios while still remaining intelligible — and yet, despite the hallucinating number of revelations and plot points thrown at us, it proved to be fully digestible until the end. The combat is also a strength, with dynamic turn-based battles that are enjoyable, if not chaotic.- MGG

The Legend of Zelda once again manages to renew itself brilliantly, thanks to a strong concept executed with care. You can always complain about the outdated interface or the technical limitations that hinder progress at regular intervals, but the power of the Echoes and the freedom given to players to solve the puzzles sweep these minor flaws under the carpet. A very good game, far from perfect, but highly recommended.- MGG

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor occupies a bit of the same niche as Hogwarts Legacy. It's a very attractive game for fans of the license, and it's good enough to appeal to a wider audience, but it doesn't excel in any area. While the graphics are far from state-of-the-art, the animations and art direction are very good. The combat is dynamic and satisfying, with swordplay styles adding a welcome touch of variety, but it's sometimes very poorly balanced, with incomprehensible spikes in difficulty. Its main flaw lies in its world, which is larger than before and had great potential, but was poorly realized. Progression is artificially blocked all the time, and its filling with elements, often without interest, makes exploration too often a source of frustration rather than wonder.- MGG

Doom The Dark Ages is a game of contrasts. It experiments with mechanics new to the license and a new historical context, but their integration is superficial or poorly thought-out. The shield overshadows everything else in combat, while the dragon and mecha are simply disappointing. Nor does the game give us the impression of being plunged into a dark age. This new opus isn't bad, however, since it contains all the basic elements we've come to appreciate in modern Doom games. Players looking for intense combat against a backdrop of consistently excellent heavy metal should still find something to enjoy.- MGG

If The Forgotten City is based on a mod initially designed for Skyrim, it knows how to detach itself from it to become a work in its own right. It is not an action game, even if it offers some, but a game of reflection and rhetoric. It offers us an interesting story that relies on the exploitation of a time portal and philosophical questions that are not without meaning. Even if the charming graphics sometimes lack depth and suffer from insufficiently detailed textures, the faces are neat and the soundtrack is good.- MGG

The developers from Insomniac Games have successfully entering the next-gen era and are rewarding us with a second high quality instalment for their Spider-Man license. Miles Morales has completely seduced us in spite of its rather non-innovative side content, simply because the magic of the superhero blockbuster still works very well, and keep on carrying us away without ever getting boring. On the performance side, the PS5 already shows us a taste of what it will be able to do through a game very well polished. Don't miss out on Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.- MGG

Control is by no means a perfect game. We're disappointed that some of the ideas don't go far enough, and it may seem short and repetitive to some. With its art direction directly taken from Zelda and its enchanting soundtrack, TUNIC knows how to set a delectable atmosphere in a world that never ceases to surprise you. But underneath its sweet airs lies a rather rough game with sometimes tense and effectively tactical fights that unfortunately suffer a little from the hero's lack of punch, at least at the beginning. You'll have to overcome the lack of clear indications that can confuse or even discourage you to enjoy it. But it would be a shame not to get hooked because the title turns out to be unsuspectedly rich.- MGG

The Outer Worlds looks too much like Fallout New Vegas without being able to stand out. The few innovative mechanics it incorporates don't work very well and the exploration is disappointing, with ridiculously small, uninteresting areas. The surprise element is no longer present for this second opus of the Builders series, but thanks to a huge stack of fine new features, it once again manages to hit the mark by offering a more scripted and structured alternative to Minecraft. So, is Silent Hill f a worthy representative of the cult saga? The answer is nuanced. Yes, certain elements remind us of what we love about Silent Hill: a chilling soundscape, memorable bosses, an oppressive atmosphere. But no, it's not the rebirth we were hoping for: the graphics are disappointing, the story lacks maturity, and, above all, the combat system weighs down the experience. I wouldn't say that Silent Hill f is a bad game. It contains interesting ideas, moments of grace, and proves that the franchise still has something to say. But it's not yet the big comeback that will put the first Silent Hill games back at the top of survival horror. In short, Silent Hill f is a step sideways. Not the revolution we were hoping for, but an attempt that will hopefully pave the way for a more ambitious future.- MGG

Classic but effective. This is a good overall description for Nioh 2. With its intense battles and an unprecedented level of customisation for the Souls-like subgenre, the latest addition of Team Ninja has a lot to offer to fans of tough challenges. The Witcher 3 on Switch is not what you would call beautiful. However, the work done by CD Projekt Red to get its RPG into the Nintendo system is obviously successful. Some of the few flaws of this version are also those already found on the PC and consoles . Kirby and the Forgotten Land is simply the family game not to be missed this year on Nintendo Switch. It will be able to please young and old alike thanks to its charming graphic and sound atmosphere. If almost all the main levels are indeed too simple, this lack of difficulty sometimes frustrating on other platformers like Crash Bandicoot or even Super Mario, allows to enjoy this Kirby in 3D. There are few licenses that are able to last over time while maintaining a high level of quality. The Total War saga is one of them and this new episode is no exception to the rule. Even better, this is probably the most successful episode of the saga. Filled with novelties, offering a colossal amount of content, and having a mastered artistic direction, we quickly forget the few technical issues in order to launch body and soul into the conquest of the title of Emperor of China. Moreover, we can't hide our joy seeing the huge replayability of the game which once again promises several dozen (hundreds?) hours of fun.- MGG

The gameplay works perfectly, and the level design is polished down to the last detail. There are no particular surprises, but you'll enjoy discovering a new world with a host of new skills and, above all, a great deal of freedom, notably the free composition of your squad from among several complementary characters. Everything has been well thought out and works perfectly. If we add in the presence of funny mini-scenarios between missions, to bring a little change to the game and give it a pleasant rhythm, as well as the great replayability, there's not much to complain about. A new license is probably born.- MGG

Two years later, Death Stranding is still an atypical and compelling adventure that managed to transport us for more than fifty hours. No matter how much we might grumble about the weaknesses of its creator's writing, the fact remains that its unique concept still holds up well, while its panoramas are sublimated by the PS5's optimizations. So the verdict is pretty much the same as for other editions of this kind on Sony's machine: if you've never played the original game, go for it, but if you've already played it, the new content doesn't necessarily justify paying for it again.- MGG

It's difficult to talk about Outer Wilds without saying too much. It's one of those rare games where you just want to place the person you are trying to convince in front of the screen and watch them play, like you'd watch a child stack building blocks for the first time. With a breathtaking graphic texture, Crash Bandicoot: It's About Time is a breath of fresh air on the series while retaining the strengths of previous titles. Its extreme difficulty at times will discourage some but fans of the genre and nostalgia will always want to complete the levels at 100%. This ubiquitous difficulty makes this fourth opus a game that is perhaps not intended for the general public or at least for young children wishing to discover the universe of Crash and Neo Cortex. All in all, Hello Kitty Island Adventure offers a surprisingly pleasant routine, almost as enjoyable as that of Animal Crossing New Horizons, with the desire to return each day to offer daily gifts, complete missions and explore the vast open world. Hogwarts Legacy is so extensive and ambitious that sacrifices have been made. The Vessel of Hatred expansion completes what consecutive updates and seasons had begun: Diablo 4 has become a much more complete and fun game. Whether in terms of content or gameplay, clear progress has been made, and it's a real pleasure to take on the new challenges of controlling the Sacresprit class. The addition of a group search tool is probably the most important new feature, even if the studio can be criticized for not having done so sooner. Super Mario RPG is one of the strangest Mario games in its history: with its world of characters seemingly drawn from an entirely different universe, its darker-than-usual graphic style and its turn-based gameplay, the late Squaresoft's game is one of the Super Famicom's diamonds in the rough that had never before made it to the Old Continent, with a proper localization. Yakuza Like a Dragon is a success on almost every level: its turn-by-turn fighting system manages to hook the player while enhancing the experience of die-hard fans. In addition, the very solid storyline takes us once again to a new neighborhood for a total change of scenery. With its satisfying gameplay and solid lifespan (about 30-40 hours), Ghost of Tsushima is another quality exclusive for the PS4. It knows how to reuse mechanics and fundamentals established by other licenses, and give them its own personal touch. And what a touch. It's not just an Assassin's Creed in Japan: it has its own visual code and almost cinematographic atmosphere, and the sublime island of Tsushima naturally replaces some of the interface elements. The whole game is infused with poetry, which is rather bold for a mainstream title. However, we regret the big weaknesses on a few fundamental points, as it lacks variety regarding the points of interest, the fights and especially the duels, which, combined with an ill-fitting difficulty, wearied us at the end. Nevertheless, it remains a very good experience and a game full of personality.- MGG

First of all, its campaign: exceptional and very long-lasting, the developers have succeeded in mixing gruffness and subtlety, and we're not in a race for action at any price. The HQ system is a nice touch, allowing you to learn more about past history and characters, and the storyline is admittedly out of the ordinary. What's more, the work done on the environments is quite insane, and on PS5 we had no texture problems whatsoever. As for Multiplayer and Zombies, there will certainly be some happy and some unhappy players, but as far as we're concerned, there's not much to say except that we loved them! They both have a lot of potential, and the changes like TTK and the new maps are great. It remains to be seen whether the developers will support them in the future.- MGG

CTR is a fairly typical game in the genre and doesn't reinvent anything, but it does perform like a beast in everything it does offer. It's an excellent carting title with a strong personality and gameplay that is perfectly balanced, but not enough to scream 'revolution', either.- MGG

With a charming and nice adventure, Kena Bridge of Spirits invites us in a cute and dark world. The gameplay is rather simple but offers interesting mechanics that allow you to have a good time no matter what happens. With tons of resources to collect and an original scenario, Kena is clearly the kind of independent title that you want to finish. And this is perhaps its biggest strength: a relaxing game, with a challenge, that you want to finish at 100%. In the end, Kena doesn't invent much but offers a beautiful and memorable journey.- MGG

Nintendo does not take any risks with a Splatoon 3 that is far too close to its predecessor on many points, a predecessor that a sequel that was already lacking in notable novelties compared to the original WiiU title. This is all the more frustrating as the gameplay is still very pleasant to play and the charm of this very special formula remains intact. As far as content is concerned, if we put aside the new weapons, it's mainly the solid single player campaign full of good ideas that manages to raise the bar of this lackluster episode.- MGG

Konami is playing it cool with this remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, one of the most popular episodes in the series, presented here in a luxurious package. The work of the Japanese publisher and Virtuos gives Snake a nice facelift under Unreal Engine 5, while retaining what made the 2004 release so appealing. Very short and too easy in normal difficulty mode, MGS Delta is a title that needs to be explored several times to fully appreciate its gameplay, which is much deeper and more interesting than it first appears.- MGG

Unfortunately, the life span of Stray is limited to the number of lives the cats can have. Indeed, we finished the game at 100% in a little less than 9 hours. We estimate that 7 hours will be more than enough to finish the main plot of the game, or even 10 hours for players who will take their time to contemplate each painting offered by the game. In a way, Stray's rather affordable price is in line with its lifespan. The more skilled players may even take less time to finish the game, so it's quite a shame. Stray is a fabulous title that offers a refreshing environment, a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat and meticulous exploration that makes you want more, but our beautiful journey ends when we clearly want more.- MGG

Observer: System Redux is a clear improvement of the original game by giving it the graphic engine of the most recent Bloober Team games. The three new investigations deepen the themes of the game and this is good news as the universe of Observer is thought-provoking. The slightly shaky infiltration phases of the original version are still present and the way Bloober Team creates a horrific atmosphere based on jumpscares and aggressive staging is still a bit tiring. Observer has enough trump cards up its sleeve to offer a solid cyberpunk thriller to fans of the genre.- MGG

Little Nightmares II honors its predecessor by taking up the basic concepts convincingly, while bringing some new features — such as NPCs helping you and melee combat. Even if the controllability isn't flawless and some technical imperfections remain, this doesn't take away from the high level of the game's artistic direction. The soundtrack alone manage to create a gloomy and uncomfortable atmosphere, all within a wide variety of environments — and some iconic enemies.- MGG

Age of Mythology was a banger for its time, and even today it remains a good game for RTS fans, especially those who appreciate a slightly slower gameplay system than Warcraft/Starcraft. The release of Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion is excellent news for all the fans of what has become a full-fledged franchise, thanks to the phenomenal success of FFVII. But be careful, you have to know what you're getting into: if the remaster allows you to enjoy this prequel with a new visual comfort, the few adjustments made by the developers are not enough to hide the great age of a formula. For the endearing piece of history it offers, fans should be able to get past it, but it might be much more complicated for everyone else.- MGG

Pokémon Legends Arceus is clearly not the title we were hoping for but it is worth the detour. Helldivers 2 is by far the most fun we've had with multiplayer in recent years, and Arrowhead Game Studios has really created something special here. It's absolutely addictive to dive into the action again and again, validating objectives under a deluge of explosions and enemies. Unfortunately, many flaws seriously spoil the party, even months after release. Khazan is pure hardcore souls-like, with gameplay and progression systems that add to the classic formula, and the final result is really enjoyable to play. Neople's game is visually appealing, with a dark fantasy universe halfway between Dark Souls and Berserk, and very well-polished Tales of art direction. An excellent, addictive game that doesn't reinvent the formula, but remains solid enough to be one of the best games of the new year. Plucky Squire is a charming adventure that lacks just a “little something” to make it truly magical. Packed with visual and gameplay discoveries, All Possible Futures' software doesn't take enough time to delve into its universe, its characters and its 3D phases, which are well integrated into the rest of Jolt' epic. Lies of P emulates FromSoftware's games with skill, style and just a hint of originality. Nevertheless, it sometimes inherits the rigidity of the old titles it takes as a model. It might have done better to move away from this to offer more distinctive gameplay, and to avoid distracting the player with a patchwork of familiar elements and references - it gets to the point where it's just too much. It does manage to stand out in other ways, however, as the game looks great, with settings and characters bursting with personality, as do the music choices. Overall, the result is really good, and it's an excellent game in this specific genre, and we'd highly recommend it if difficulty doesn't scare you.- MGG

Disgaea is a great Tactical RPG series, and this fourth episode is considered by many to be THE best of the five. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero succeeds in bringing the Budokai Tenkaichi series back to the forefront in an excellent way, offering the original gameplay while adding a few new features such as new counter methods. Alongside this, you'll find a cast of gigantic characters that will please fans of the early days, but which can also be seen as artificially inflated due to transformations, for titanic confrontations in destructible arenas during local or online battles, even if this can sometimes make them rather messy. Chivalry II is a game that takes a long time to get used to, but once you've got the basics down, it's possible to have a blast and enjoy the unusual moments offered by the game and especially by the community. It remains accessible to the general public, as dueling and jousting virtuosos will blend in with the masses and it will still be possible to fight between peons without screaming with rage. With this second episode, the Judgment series proves that it can perfectly complement the main Yakuza series, which has been turn-based since its seventh episode. Yagami's investigation in Seiryo High School is exciting and much better paced than the first episode, while the gameplay has been enriched enough to push us to comb all of Yokohama once again. Ghost of a Tale has not managed to completely immerse us in its interesting adventure, the fault to a lack of visibility mainly. We still want to accompany Tilo, but some passages are painstaking by having to hide to escape the danger. Yet here too lies its strength, its infiltration side mixed with RPG and exploration, colorful characters and a sweet sense of humour. The developers seem to have learned from the small mistakes of their first opus, especially on the gameplay. While the first title was considered too directional, this one is much less so, offering a much more aggressive approach. As for the scenario, it's a faultless one, the story faithfully follows the past events and transports the player as well in the terrible adventure of Hugo and Amicia. Battlefield 6 marks the grand return of a franchise that fully embraces its heritage while modernizing its foundations. DICE has managed to reaffirm the strategic DNA of the series that was lost in Battlefield 2042: cooperation, reading the terrain, and mastery of equipment still take precedence over the reflexes and chaos typical of the competition. The shooting mechanics are more balanced, soldier mobility is much better calibrated, and the maps, which are exceptionally rich, offer truly exhilarating diversity. Admittedly, the single-player campaign lacks scope and some multiplayer modes still need tweaking, but the core gameplay remains solid, fast-paced, and rewarding. With 45 weapons at launch, nine carefully designed maps, ambitious content tracking, and the promise of regular updates, Battlefield 6 unashamedly ranks among the best installments in the franchise.- MGG
