Limbo is the living proof you don’t need 4K nor huge open-world to create a great game. And it still great today, in 2018, on Nintendo Switch. But beware of the light’s reflections on its screen.- Jeuxvideo.com

Is this remastered compilation tossed aside? Not in the least, since we can feel WayForward's desire to modernize the cult games of 20 years ago. But even the best will in the world is not always enough. The acceleration of the speed of the game in *2 as well as the possibility of replaying the round does not manage to put itself at the level of the dynamism of the current productions. The remasters then suffer from a slight lack of punch, a bit like a tank out of gas, to rise to the height of the original opuses. Despite this, Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising remain very good complete and accessible strategy games. If those who have already played it may be disappointed by the lack of new features to enjoy, the curious who have not touched them can discover it in very good conditions from April 21 on Nintendo Switch.- Jeuxvideo.com

Two Point Museum is a success, it follows in the footsteps of the studio's two previous games. If only it weren't frustrating because of its expeditions! It's a great mechanic that would have been perfect if it hadn't required so much "farming". But you just have to zoom out and observe our beautiful museum, well decorated, filled with numerous and diverse works, with employees working where they should be and happy customers... And we congratulate ourselves on having worked hard, and having enjoyed it.- Jeuxvideo.com

After more than 30 hours of play, Helldivers II remains devilishly addictive and extremely enjoyable. Although it still requires playing with several people (with friends or strangers) to fully appreciate its value, the game from Arrowhead Game Studios simply stands out as the best cooperative experience of the moment. If you've always dreamed of playing a mix between Starship Troopers and Terminator and want to be able to fight against hordes of enemies with great blasts from large calibers and orbital cannons, there's a good chance that you'll spend a excellent moment on Helldivers II. And while it may not seem like it at first glance, the game can even require a lot of strategy and restraint on the highest difficulty modes. If I would have liked slightly more solid servers and some additional finishes, I am already looking forward to knowing what the future of Helldivers II will hold. Regardless, I am immediately returning to fight for democracy and freedom. Long live Super-Earth!- Jeuxvideo.com

Returning to Animal Crossing on the Switch 2 is like rekindling a flame we thought had gone out. The archipelago has never been so resplendent, enhanced by 4K graphics that make every corner irresistible, despite the controls stubbornly clinging to their old ways. But no matter: between the vibrant atmosphere of the Admiral Hotel and the complete freedom of the Dream Islands mode, which arrives at just the right time, this version offers the breath of fresh air needed to break the routine. We're simply happy to have found such a wonderful reason to return. While this version isn't strictly essential, once you've tried it, it's hard to go back.- Jeuxvideo.com

How can we continue to keep a legendary video game series that has just celebrated its 30th anniversary alive? NetherRealm has decided. The apprentice sorcerers led by Ed Boon reanimate the beast and opt for a nice reboot taking care of its accessibility strategy, adding a big touch of RPG (Invasions) and deepening its gameplay with a feature previously unpublished in the series (Kaméos). Despite its aggressive Live service side, fairly classic solo/multi modes and the disappearance of elements loved by fans, the title published by WB Games hits hard if not delivering an uppercut.- Jeuxvideo.com

For a hardcore action RPG, The First Berserker Khazan doesn't lie about the goods. But, beyond a very high - and almost caricatured - difficulty, the Neople studio demonstrates very impressive know-how (especially for its first project of the genre), and this throughout the 60-70 hours that the adventure lasts. Frankly, despite a structure already seen and a slight lack on the technical and artistic direction side, it's difficult to expect more from a demanding action role-playing game. The fights are top-notch, the bosses too, there are even little "twists" that constantly punctuate the progression. What do you say again? Oh yes... first attempt, masterstroke!- Jeuxvideo.com

With Reimagined, forget the laborious epic of the original Dragon Quest VII on PS1. More beautiful than ever with its unique aesthetic, the game offers a much more enjoyable, condensed adventure thanks to its numerous accessibility and difficulty options. In this customizable experience, combat gains depth through the richness of dual vocations, allowing for combinations that are as improbable as they are powerful. However, in addition to some flaws from the original game that are still present, this modernized version sometimes pushes the accessibility features too far, making the adventure too easy at times. But make no mistake: Dragon Quest VII Reimagined elevates a great RPG to new heights and will be a landmark title in the category of ambitious remakes.- Jeuxvideo.com

Once upon a time there was a little hero who, wanting to be appreciated by all, arranged himself in the manner of the lords of his time. Charming as a prince, he invented specialties with eloquence, “a mind as sharp as a fist” he promised. But behind his pleasant features, our adventurer had a hard time hiding his limits. “Stop trying to swell up, or you will die” a lady who saw through his game said to him. After the sublime Gris, Nomada Studio is back with an action-adventure game that, under its appearance of an ecological fable with a young woman and her wolf, actually has a much heavier message. And we liked the way Neva took us by surprise. The latest baby from the Spanish team also comes back with a superb artistic direction, where the nature full of details contrasts with the “emptiness” of certain passages, marked by a surrealism that echoes Gris… In Neva, Nomada also offers - for the first time - action-adventure phases and does more than well. The demons that Alba must face give rise to gripping action phases, well staged, where a certain tension reigns (without ever falling into an excessive challenge). A very beautiful adventure that we recommend.- Jeuxvideo.com

When you play Lies of P, you often have the feeling of playing a FromSoftware game. Enough to highlight the qualities of the games while exacerbating its faults. They are few in number and minimal but still demonstrate FromSoftware remains a cut above and above all the undisputed master in the field. However, Neowiz and Round8 deliver an excellent copy. We remember the nervous and jovial boss fights, a permanent reflection of one's build as well as the multiple choices of possible customization. Furthermore, this rewriting of the tale of Pinocchio shows easily and in an accessible manner how our choices and our responses can have consequences on the world around us. With Lies of P, Pinocchio is no longer a wooden puppet dreaming of being a young boy since he is clearly in the big leagues.- Jeuxvideo.com

Marvel's Midnight Suns manages to make tactical combat accessible to a new audience while showing great respect for the license it features. By choosing to create a new character, the Firaxis teams place the player at the center of this adventure, surrounded by a cast of five-star superheroes to please everyone. This desire is also felt in the tactical combat which advocates a more direct approach, but also more spectacular and satisfying thanks to a card system that is more intuitive than one could imagine. But in addition to its fairly slow pace of play, the title is particularly talkative with all the funny and friendly interactions they offer within the Abbey. Despite these small flaws, Firaxis manages to offer an experience that is both affordable to an audience unaccustomed to tactics and rich for fans of the genre thanks to its complex mechanics, while honoring the superheroes of the Marvel universe.- Jeuxvideo.com

More accomplished than its predecessor from whom it shamelessly steals its structure, Resident Evil Village is a complete experience filling with quiet strength all the necessary boxes for the success of an action-oriented first-person survival horror. Although it draws its inspiration from the depths of the Spanish oblivion belonging to the fourth installment, the title of Capcom manages to perform well thanks to its atmosphere tinged with original fantasy for the saga. The unforgivable absence of virtual reality and the presence of a feeling of "already played", however, prevent him from claiming the title of eminent village chief. With this Forza Motorsport 2023 edition, Turn 10 resets the counters and delivers a car racing game with a titanium chassis capable of carrying the license for several years. Beautiful, fluid, offering very good "simcade" driving sensations, it offers the right modes with the necessary parameters to satisfy almost everyone. Both ultra permissive (in its challenge) and restrictive (in the improvements to be unlocked), this reboot is a bit of a search. Aiming at a very wide audience thanks to its numerous options, it is nonetheless dedicated to fans of pretty cars, those who are able to go beyond its definitively austere appearance (and the absence of urban circuits) to let themselves be captivated by the joys of motorized competition, both solo and online. More than 17 years after Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Sparking Zero takes the strengths of its predecessor to go even further. With the generosity of its casting, the quality of its effects and the impressive staging of its moves, the game excels in its fanservice. But above all, the title stands out for its gameplay as technical as its predecessors which offers both a real margin of progression and instant fun thanks to its accessibility options. Too bad the fights are a little spoiled by readability and camera issues. At the same time, we can blame the game for its minimum service for its interfaces, its cutscenes and its training mode which clash with the care given to the rest of the experience. Despite everything, Sparking Zero has everything to delight Dragon Ball fans, even those who want to play locally who will have to settle for a single arena for the moment, because it really is the Budokai Tenkaichi 4 that everyone was waiting for.- Jeuxvideo.com

Two Point Campus makes an almost perfect copy by renewing the management game genre. Its amazing two-phase game system allows you to combine the best of both worlds: a game where you can build without stress and with ease, and a game where you can observe with pleasure the result of your work. If the phase of the school year turns out to be more idle than the summer holidays, it allows you to appreciate the excellent work on the atmosphere, the animations and the personalization of your campus. Lost Judgment is the legitimate sequel to Judgment, and does as well as its predecessor on most points. The faithful recreation of Tokyo and Yokohama is an invitation to exploration as the combat retains that franchise-specific intensity and technicality. As for the scenario, the latter literally takes the guts. The high school setting as well as the themes addressed perfectly compensate for the lack of a strong link with the Yakuza saga. Only certain gameplay mechanics that are too interventionist, and the noticeable absence of a new geographical area are to be deplored without this ruining the gaming experience.- Jeuxvideo.com

Because this year, Breaking Point is back and the next F1 film are highlighted to revive the story-driven interest of the saga. If you're looking for the best way to experience Beyond Good & Evil today, look no further. This 20th anniversary edition is indeed the ultimate version of the Ubisoft classic, whether in terms of technique or bonuses! The adventures of Jade and her friends have even aged surprisingly well, even booking in 2024 a dense, gripping, well-paced epic where the word “adventure” takes on its full meaning (exploration, action, racing, etc.). Afterwards, over the years, there are some things that are a little dated. Newcomers will, for example, be annoyed by some puzzles/hidden passages that are not always obvious. For the rest, even the strange new face of Double-H does not detract from the beauty of Hillys and the exciting conspiracy hidden there... A cult video game, that's for sure.- Jeuxvideo.com

Hogwarts Legacy on Switch 2 is a pleasant surprise. Where one might have feared a cheap port, Avalanche Software delivers a careful, balanced, and faithful adaptation. Although technical limitations remain, the essentials are preserved: exploration, the universe, the magic, the immersion. Graphically less ambitious and locked to 30 fps, the game remains fluid, manageable, and above all, complete. Its main asset: native portability, without streaming, offering a magical experience anywhere, anytime. Fans of the saga will find it the ideal travel companion. We thought F-Zero was dead and buried since 2004. But with F-Zero 99, Nintendo made a nice surprise by bringing the Golden Fox and the Blue Falcon out of the garage. The gameplay sensations of the time are intact and both beginners and beginners can enjoy this modernized iteration thanks to its unique and energized parts. The new benchmark for the Codemasters saga? F1 23 via the breath of EA Sports releases the best vintage in terms of content for the license, especially thanks to the addition of the F1 World mode. Even if you are not really well guided towards the latter, it will fill many hours of your time with its many well-renewed challenges and quests. A lack now filled for the Formula 1 saga, which is still going around in circles in the animations and its technical rendering. The 2023 opus is a great gateway to the world of single-seaters, with the bonus of the continuation of Point de Rupture, the rather interesting Drive to Survive scenario.- Jeuxvideo.com

Accessible and with a generous lifespan, Shadowverse: Champion's Battle manages to provide an effective gateway to the Cygames card game. Coated with a good-natured universe, the title allows everyone to get used to the mechanics of Shadowverse thanks to many really useful aids. Unfortunately, the lack of a French translation prevents it from reaching the target younger audience, which makes it more suitable for those who wish to try their hand at a card game solo and on a laptop, preferably. Same criticism on the side of its disappointing technique, its too simple scenario and its structure a little too repetitive which have something to tarnish the experience. Not enough either to prevent the title from offering a nice introduction to its real end-game: Shadowverse on PC and mobile.- Jeuxvideo.com

Stray's main strengths lie in its adorable protagonist and its settings which are a joy to explore. Let's add to that a nicely conducted narrative and a mystical atmosphere draped with beautiful synthesized melodies. There are still the puzzles, which are often too basic and the frustration of not being able to jump where we want, which prevent the game from reaching its full potential. Stray is nonetheless a very nice experience, perfect for the youngest and quite touching for adults.- Jeuxvideo.com

Once again this year, NBA 2K26 is an immersive experience for any fan of the North American league. Ultra-complete with perfectly rendered atmospheres and player visuals/gestures, fans of management and controller sensations will enjoy offline modes like MyNBA, MyGM or MyTeam. This last mode mixes NBA players and WNBA players for even more legendary team possibilities and variety in the title. On the other hand, the online MyCareer mode will be divisive with its gameplay for Season 1, reserved for hardcore offensive players who know their shot and dunk gauge by heart, to the detriment of irregular shooting defenders. Visual Concepts has managed to be even more effective this year by leaving aside the side quests to get to the essentials and give more tools for fans of player and team creation to have fun. All that's missing is a game that's less demanding of virtual currency, 2K26 being still devilishly pay-to-fast, to approach perfection in the sports simulation genre.- Jeuxvideo.com

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the game of confirmation. That of a sister's faith in her little brother when the world crumbles at the foot of their defeat. Then, that of the great talent of Asobo Studios. Offering richer gameplay without upsetting the formula, this sequel never forgets the essentials in relation to the genre it targets. Amicia's desperate fight is at least as magnificent as the graphics and soundtrack that drive the work. The infiltration mechanics can challenge, and we would have liked a final finishing coat, but none of the defects encountered tarnish our judgment: with Requiem, the Bordeaux studio delivers a great vintage. Created with the aim of convincing players to go back to the origins of the saga, Star Ocean The Second Story R is a very careful remake which really allows you to personalize the experience as you wish. The adventure is thus explored in a much less austere manner than in the past thanks to a complete dusting of the fundamentals which succeed in updating the formula without sacrificing its authenticity.- Jeuxvideo.com

Planet Coaster 2 wanted to be the ultimate theme park creation game, and it succeeded. The level of detail, the range of parameters to consider, and the number of creation possibilities offered are dizzying. The risk of being discouraged by so much wealth is real, especially since the unclear interfaces and incomplete tutorials will not help you enough. But, in the same way that your visitors will be able to choose whether or not to dive into your new pools, it is up to you to decide which game you will dive into: a demanding micro-management game? An ultra-complete construction game? Or just a fun time on the career mode, borrowing magnificent creations from the community? Everything is possible, and the frustration of not being able to do what you want is reduced. Who said it was easy to tame an almost perfect game?- Jeuxvideo.com

Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PC is the bitter observation of a flagrant lack of optimization on the part of Ubisoft, which definitely seems to have trouble offering a satisfactory technical experience on these latest AAA productions, according to the recent example of Watch Dogs Legion. The game indeed struggles to reach 60 FPS on a large majority of configurations and especially suffers from great framerate instability, making the experience almost painful when many characters are displayed on the screen. Difficult not to sanction this version by a few points less, therefore, while waiting for the arrival of an update.- Jeuxvideo.com

Yes, The Outer Worlds has all that we wanted from the writers of Fallout New Vegas. But, while bringing that weird universe with a great liberty of actions, nice questing and a good amount of content (around 20 hours with replayability), the game fails to be à 2019 game. The companion system and the AI don't work quite well, and the global graphics and technical design are weak.- Jeuxvideo.com

Cult of the Lamb is an action-management title that works devilishly well, with a strong concept - as a reminder: taking care of a demonic cult - that it holds from start to finish for ten / twenty hours game offered by the adventure. It's funny, cleverly thought out, deep enough that you never want to stop. The Massive Monster studio and the publisher Devolver Digital sign a new must-have from the independent scene, to be devoured without moderation. Prepare your most beautiful sermons!- Jeuxvideo.com

Subnautica Below Zero does not seem to want to walk in other steps than that of its big brother. By reducing the map or vehicles, Below Zero is more to be seen as a very good expansion of the original game, more scripted version and a little more hostile than the first episode. If Below Zero undoubtedly does better than the competition when it comes to making a scripted survival game, with a universe as enchanting as it is frightening hand-crafted, it would undoubtedly have gained more from the experience of 'origin to fully conquer the veterans of the franchise, who, despite everything, will take undeniable pleasure to go diving again, just like the newcomers, who will have the chance to discover for the first time this atypical and oh so immersive way of approaching the game of survival.- Jeuxvideo.com

Just as recommendable as on mobile, the Switch version of Sky: Children of the Light gains in magic once the console is placed in the dock. You can enjoy the excellent art direction on the big screen and appreciate the joystick controls. The expanses of clouds as far as the eye can see impress and make you want to get lost in them. Silent Hill f is first and foremost a bold gamble, a reinvention that ventures into uncharted territory. It creates a persistent strangeness, deeply imbued with Japanese folklore, that is as disconcerting as it is captivating. Its clumsy combat and excessive action weigh down the experience, but its universe, its characters, and its soundscape impose a unique identity, which pushes us to scratch away its layers of mystery until the last minute. Imperfect but striking, Silent Hill f will undoubtedly remain as the episode that dared to redefine fear through the prism of Japanese culture, with flashes of brilliance that we never forget.- Jeuxvideo.com
